Company Sweater and Dance Roll Legging - Try On Review

I saw the Company Sweater and tried on the Dance Roll Legging tonight. I would have tried on the Company Sweater but they didn't have my size. They are both made of the same lightweight knit material. The Dance Roll Legging was very soft and cozy but it seemed to run on the small side to me. The Company Sweater seemed like a basic long sweater cut to hug your curves. It looked nice, but plain and not worth the $118 price tag. The pants are $128.

Dance Roll Legging Product Features:
  • Made with Cashmere!!! What more do we have to say!
  • Great for your Sunday evening Yin classes!
  • Slim leg fits great in your boots
  • Rollover waistband for coverage and comfort

Sport Cardi

I saw the new Lululemon Sport Cardi in the stores a couple of months ago.  It is very similar to the Pulse Wrap made of beechlu except the Sport Cardi is a knit made from bamboo. Be aware the knit is loose and when I first saw it I knew I would snag the heck out of it.

Sport Cardi Features:
  • from natural bamboo fibres & tencel, it is highly breathable while keeping you warm during warm up
  • Wrap tie allows for a customized fit
  • Collar can be worn with ties gathered to allow for a more open neckline
  • Long sleeves cover hands for added warmth

Run: Track and Field Jacket - Plaids!

Aren't these plaids cute? I'm not a huge fan of the solid colored jacket at $148 but these patterns are cute.

Update:  So I tried these on tonight. They are a lot brighter in person than in this photo. In fact, they are so bright I thought they are better suited to the Iviva line than for grown women. The back is still "poochy" over the rear - it puffs out so much from the waist it looks like you are wearing a bustle.  The girls in the photo have them adjusted, when you intially put the jacket on it naturally puffs out over the rear.  These will soon be on the markdown racks.

Action Gym Towel - Lower Price

Lululemon came out with the Action Gym towel last year around this time. I really liked it when I saw it in the store. It was nice and big and oh-so-soft. But, and this is a big but, it was $30.  I was just looking around the website and noticed the price of the Action Gym towel is now $16 which is much more reasonable. It doesn't have any embroidered words on it like the one in the photo does (the photo is of the old towel since I was feeling too lazy to get the picture off the website) but that is a good thing. Who wants to scrape their face on embroidery? It still has a zipper pocket which I don't think I'll use. I like to hang my towels over the bar of the elliptical or spin bike and things in the pocket will make it slip off. Anywho, since there is free shipping I thought I'd order one and see if I still like it. I have a feeling I will.

Update - Just got my towel in the mail today. It's pretty sweet. The terry is really thick and soft.  The pocket is really large and there is a hook on the edge for easy hanging. I think it is well worth $16 if you are feeling like a small splurge.

Features:

  • This luxurious gym towel makes you want to work up a sweat at the gym!
  • The perfect blend of bamboo and cotton which is both absorbent and super soft against your skin
  • Built in zipper pocket keeps your keys, coin and hair tie at your fingertips
  • Size: 20" by 30" English
  • Content: 40% Bamboo, 60%
  • Designed in Vancouver, Made in Turkey

Recent Ebay Buys - Deep V, Hip Halter Tank, and Stellar Tank

I've been going on a bit of an Ebay spree lately. I recently got the Athletic Deep V tank pictured above. I can't remember if that print ever showed up in the Deep V in my local stores. I remember a Tri Y in that print but not a Deep V.  Not that I love the print all that much but for the right price, I like a lot of stuff better than I do at full price. It also matches my Hills Crops that had the same flower design on the leg.

That brings up something I've noticed about Lululemon. I don't know if it is by design or accident but when Lululemon comes out with a color/print scheme not all the coordinating pieces show up in the store at the same time. They seem to dribble out pieces months apart and not all the stores(or even country) get the same pieces. That means if you want to complete an outfit you have to snap up a certain top or pant and then keep visiting the store or multiple stores hoping for the coordinating pieces to show up. In the past the matching headbands have been a six month to a year lag but they are getting much better about sending those out. Now they seem to be coming out pretty quickly. However, sometimes a store will only get a couple of headbands of certain designs or colors. For instance, I finally found a Deep Navy headband but they are pretty few and far between. I found a mesh headwrap in the new Power Purple at one store but another only got the Dance headband version. And why have they released a Dance headband in Mac N Cheese Yellow and Black when the color scheme used was yellow and Deep Navy? I don't get it.  The whole bait and reward cycle certainly feeds my into my Lululemon collector addiction.

Back to the Deep Vs: I don't know why all the Deep Vs come in solid colors these days. There is a great opportunity to dress the tank up by putting contrasting colors in the mesh areas. I am dying to see some pretty prints in tops. If Lululemon has lost the graphic designer that came up with their prints, I don't see why they can't reissue older prints. I know at my stores, the pretty prints were the first to sell out in any style.

The Hip Halter Tank (second photo) was out this spring I believe. The tank only ever came in a size 10 both in the stores and on line. However, a few size 12s have popped up on ebay so they were sold somewhere. I had lusted after this tank for awhile and was psyched to get it. Alas, it wasn't big enough in the chest and now it's back on ebay.

The third tank (last photo) I recently bought was a Stellar tank. This is very similar to the Cool Racerback and, in particular, its predecessor the Cool It Racerback, with the main difference being it has a built in bra. I had never bought one of these when they were in the stores a year or so ago but I really like it.  It's made of regular weight luon and has a very deep racerback, which probably my favorite style to exerice in. The straps give comfortable support. It has become my favorite around-the-house tank to wear.

Run: Track and Field Pant - One Word: "Bulk"

I can't imagine the Run: Track and Field pants look good on anyone beside those with long, extremely thin legs. All the gathering along the inseam seems to add bulk even to the model. I tried them on and didn't like them. I'm not a fan of double layered pants (too much swishing noise as you walk) and the wide, gathered waistband felt, for lack of a better word, bulky. They remind me of the snowpants I'd wear as a child to go sledding in my wintery upstate New York yard.

French Terry - How Do I Love Thee? Let Me Count The Ways....

My Feel Good Pants arrived in the mail today and I couldn't be happier. Between them and my Remix Light Lulu Hoodie, I am in a cozy cocoon of french terry. I consider this outfit my daytime pajamas.  I haven't bought much Lululemon that wasn't pure high impact athletic wear but I gotta say the French Terry street wear (or are they calling it "Culture Wear"?) stuff is pretty awesome.  Granted the Feel Good Pants do have flaws: They are a very casual looking pair of pants - firmly in the sweatpant category.  They are desgined for ladies with skinny thighs and no bedonkadonk so you might want to size up if you order a pair.  Also, the zipper on the back pocket rattles annoyingly when you walk around.  They don't seem to be selling that well, probably because of their high price and overly casual style. Maybe I'll pick up a second pair when they hit the loot section.

Try On Report: Run:Track and Field Pant + Other Stuff

I tried on the Run:Track and Field Pant today. They are double layered and have a pretty bulky feeling waistband. They are nice pants but if I were to choose, I think I prefer the Run:Ultra Pant because it is more streamlined feeling.

Product Features:
  • Everyday low-rise track pant for warm ups, cool down, and light activity
  • Made of quick drying swift fabric with DWR finish
  • Anti-static & anti-stink Silverescent lining
  • Front pockets for cold hands
  • Zippered ankle to help fit over your running shoes
  • Rib hem keeps your pants from dragging under your shoes
  • Articulated knees
  • Wide elastic waistband with external drawcord for support
  • $108

Run: Ultra Pant Features:
  • Lightweight warm-up pant for track days
  • Wicking & quick dry swift fabric with 4-way stretch for total mobility
  • DWR finish to protect from light rain
  • Back vents for ventilation
  • Soft wicking waistband with drawstring & elastic for support
  • Zipper pocket to secure your cards & keys
  • Hem drawcord can be cinched at ankle or knee to keep the mud off
  • Chafe resistant - flat seams
Other Things I Tried On

Run: Swiftly Tech - My store had a really cool looking Run: Swiftly Tech Tee in Antidote. I'm not a huge Antidote fan but in the silverescent material it is just muted enough that I really liked it.  However, I didn't get it. I have narrow shoulders and a large chest so the Swiftly Tech fits me odd. It is baggy in the armpits and neckline. Also, the Swiftly Tech material is incredibly susceptible to pulls. In fact the one I tried on had a pull in it.

Snap Up Crops in Gray Pique - I really like these but I am leary of gray for workouts because of butt sweat concerns. I liked the style a lot but I'd probably like it better in the Groove crops.\

Ribbed Legging: Really liked these. Comfortable. I'm really liking the organic leggings and tights for lounge wear. One of these days I am going to break down and get some.

Features:
  • A legging made to fit over your sneaker
  • Enjoy the pairing of organic cotton and Lycra® - natural softness and athletic performance
  • Certified organically grown cotton was used to make this garment
  • Gusset designed 4 sport
  • Preshrunk
  • Chafe resistant - flat seamed

Try On Report: Freedom Batwing Tee - Like but Not Love

I finally tried on the Freedom Batwing Tee today. I liked it but I didn't love it, especially for $68. On me, it looked more like the top photo - kind of baggy and bunched up. I also didn't care for how the wide sleeves felt. I went down a size and it looked much better but then the V-neck part didn't dip as much and you loose the ability to show off the top you are wearing underneath. I liked the top a lot but not enough to shell out $68. I also would have like to see a verion in white, cream, or pale gray. This top runs pretty big so you can size down safely.

Product Features:
  • Don't you love me? I look great in the yoga studio…and pretty hot around town too!
  • Made of pima, a superior blend of cotton with extra long fibres that provides durability
  • Loose up top and tight on your booty to show off that hard work!
  • Chafe resistant flat seams for comfort
  • Preshrunk so there are no surprises when you wash me!

I Am Great Tote - On the Small Side & Over-Priced

The I Am Great Tote is a cute gym bag but on the small side. I know this bag does not have enough room for what I like to bring to the gym. A pair of spin shoes will take up half the bag.  I also think it is really overpriced for the size and materials - $88.

Features:

  • This smaller tote holds all your gym essentials.
  • Keep your sweaty gear in the removable, water resistant, washable pouch!
  • Exterior zipper pocket for your keys.
  • Interior pockets for your reusable shopper, makeup + more!
  • Removable shoulder strap for multiple carrying options.
  • Water resistant liner wipes clean easily.
  • Tested to hold 50 lbs.
  • 16" x 10"x 8"

Try On Report: All Sport Bra - Good Support

The new All Sport Bra is the bra version of the Swift Tank. I tried it on today and liked it.  It offers thick straps and a cross-over back. My quickie bounce test put the hold near max, not quite as much as the Ta Ta Tamer but pretty close. I would rate it more comfortable than the Ta Ta Tamer and it will look a lot smoother under tops since it has no seams, hooks, or buckles.  I thought it smooshed my boobs down a bit but then again I a DD and probably pushing the envelope on the sizing for this bra. However, there is always compromise when buying a sports bra and I think I would trade off a little smooshing for support and comfort.

PS - I tried a Cool Racerback over this and thought it didn't look too bad. A little of the straps showed beneath the racerback but not too bad. The bra also shows in front but the curve of the scoops match and looks nice.

Product Features:
- An x-training bra that works for all sports.
- Quick drying Power Luxtreme provides inherent wicking abilities, keeping you dry and comfortable.
- High Lycra content for max hold and performance.
- Crossover back for max breathability.
- Wide straps are comfortable and don't dig into your shoulders while practicing yoga.
- Chafe resistant flat seams.

New Stuff On-Line - Some Pretty Additions & Showing Love for The 14s + Random Thoughts

Lululemon added some pretty new jackets to their website tonight.  The Run:Spirit Pullover in Fruity Tootie is really cute. They also added a version in Power Purple, but a little glowing purple goes a long way so this is my pick (plus I'm a sucker for a hot pink):

I've tried the Spirit on and really liked it. Unfortunately, Southern California just doesn't get that cold and I'm not a runner otherwise I would get one. I have a really pretty ombre razzmatazz/orchid Trail Tech I got last year that is just perfect for cool weather walks. Too bad all the Trail Techs this year are so dull. Here's a photo of mine:

 Run: Spirit Pullover Features
  • The perfect thermal midlayer for winter running
  • Wicking tech fleece has high-loft backing for added warmth
  • Off-set zipper keeps abrasion away from your face when zipped up
  • Tight scuba-shaped hood to keep wind out
  • Set your ponytail free from your hood!
  • Cuffins with thumbhole for cold fingers!
  • Secure back pocket for your belongings
  • Long length hem that won't ride up or stretch out
  • Reflective for 360° of visibility
  • Chafe resistant - flat seams
  • $118
For apres ski, Lululemon just added the cutest pullover - the  Fuzzy Fleece Pullover. The view from the back is the best.

Product Features:

  • Super soft fleece pullover for winter après activities
  • Double sided brushed micro fleece with anti-pilling finish
  • Shaped oversized hood with snap closure to keep you cozy
  • Long length hem to cover your bum
  • Layer over fitted fleece pants or tights
  • Thumbholes to keep your sleeves down for added warmth!
  • $99
Showing Love For the 14s

I see Lululemon is adding more and more pants and crops in size 14. Thank you!!!  I bought a pair of Groove Down pants in a 14 this summer so I am wondering if they secretly make 14s in the Grooves and just slip them into the stores.  I notice the new Reverse Groove shorts they added tonight also come in 14. C'mon Lululemon add some Groove pants in 14. Nothing fancy, I'd be happy with just a black and white reverse.

Other Random Thoughts:

I liked what I saw in photos of the new Run:Track and Field Jacket but that was before I knew the price was $148. That's just too rich for my blood for a glorified windbreaker. I'll be watching for you on the sale rack.

Some photos to illustrate the difference between the Remix Lulul Hoodie and the Remix Light Lulu Hoodie:

The Light is just so much more attractive in the longer length and the way that it hugs your curves. I really don't care for the boxiness and short length of the regular Remix.

More Love for the Classy Classic Gym Bag - Recalling My Barbie Doll Days

The Classsy Classic gym bag really speaks to me. Maybe because it comes in Barbie Doll colors like pink and purple. I dunno, but I think I want one.

More Love for the Batwing Tee

The more I see the Freedom Batwing Tee in photos on various educators the more I like it. It comes in Charcoal and Black in addition to Fruity Tootie. I think I need to visit my store this weekend.

Run: Track and Field Jacket and Pant - Nice!

There is a matching jacket to the Run: Track and Field Pant. It looks promising. I'll have to check it out when it hits my store. On the other hand, not loving the stripes on the leg on the bright blue version of the pants. Both come in a solid black.

Competition Jacket - Stripes. Ho Hum.

This is the new Competition Jacket. Based on the photos I have seen, it doesn't do much for me. It looks rather boxy on these girls and I do not like the stripes. All in all, it is very generic looking and not at all head-turning which is what I require if I am to pay $100+ for a jacket. It also seems to pooch out in the belly where the pockets are on nearly every photo I've seen it in. I wonder if it's made to go with the Rock Out pant which has stripes up the inside of the leg. However, I do like the longer length and it does come in solid black. I'll have to see what it looks like in real life but as of now I am underwhelmed. Next.

Stir Up Pant in Real Life - Not Bad, Except for the Stirrups

Just for laughs, I tried the Stir Up pant on this weekend. It was not nearly as ugly as I thought it would be. And, not nearly as ugly as it is on the website as the photo above shows. The pleats don't look that bad at all and I might even consider buying a pair except for the fugly stirrups at the bottom that bunch up the pant at the cuff. The pants run really long. I wonder if you can have the stupid stirrups cut off and have the pants hemmed in a normal way? They would actually look nice with a straight leg.

Cozy Up - Garish in Person

A lot of people ooo-ing and ahhh-ing on the Facebook sites for these two versions of the Cozy Up Jacket. However, in person the colors are much brighter and the black printed areas look rather garish. I did not like them AT ALL. They photograph a lot cuter than they are in real life. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Update - Changed out the photos that illustrate my point better. The jackets in these photos look more like they do in real life - very bright and ugly.

Lululemon "Featured" In.....Wait for it...... Playboy Yoga!!!

I don't know how long she stays in her clothes, but on the front page, the model is sporting Lululemon apparel. Too funny. Thanks to YogaDork website for this find.
