New Stuff - Organic Rib Tank

Organic Rib Tank
Yay, another racerback tank.  Can't Lululemon make any other style tank? What about a plain scoop neck and scoop back?  I recently bought a Beyond Yoga square neck ribbed tank made of pima modal cotton and lycra. I really like it - the material is thick, stretchy, and soft - and the style makes my chest look huge. You know one big reason I like it? The neckline - not a racerback and not a scoop. Like all the Beyond Yoga photos, the model could easily size down for a more body hugging fit.

Run: Energy Short Sleeve - cleavage-tastic!

It looks like the new Run: Energy Short Sleeve might dip pretty low in front. I'm thinking my Champion powerback bra might show in front. If I'm going to wear a short sleeve shirt it means I want more coverage. I don't want to flash people when I bend over and I hate putting sunscreen on my chest. The previous tech shirts didn't have that problem.

I like the organic rib tank as I wear a lot of tanks in the summer and like them for layering (I'm talking streetwear here). I love my CRBs for workout and streetwear but for me this is a nice alternative. Again, I wouldn't use it for working out as I'm a sweater. I also get VERY tired of the color palettes quickly after they come out. I do love passion this time around and I was wild about bold blue and faded zap earlier in the year. That said, it seems like the same three colors stick around for way longer than the 45 days they claim they turn them over.

Ugh! I was so darn excited about the new run energy short sleeve, but this last photo shows it to be VERY low cut...this won't work with boot camp without my Ta Ta Tamer (and Ta Tas) basically falling out! Happy feeling gone :(

Wow, ANOTHER racerback....so excited (NOT!)

I'm bummed...

Not that I would buy the lulucrombie graphic one- but WHY is the v-neck cutting into the lettering?!? There is too little cut into to appear intentional- it just looks like a bad batch (sorry, designer rant).

I'm really beginning to lose interest in Lululemon. The designers are either getting lazy or lack of good ideas. So many of the jackets look so similar. The same for tanks. The Tank On Me Tank*Org, Vita Tank and Mynah tank look so similar with some minor tweaking or change in fabric. Likewise with the Cool Racerback, Modern Racerback and the Organic Rib Tank. Would we pay good money for all of these tanks? I think not.

@CJRun - If you look at the Varsity graphic I Just Wanna Run, you'll see the graphic cuts into the neckline there, also, so it's deliberate.

@pilatesmom - I like the organic stuff for street wear, too, but it would nice to have a different silhouette. I already have the gather racerback organic tank and would like a different look.

I'm wondering if the colors are hanging around longer because they can't get all their stock to show up at the right time. People have commented that educators told them they were expecting the Flashback stuff earlier in the year. However, they have made a major miscalculation in limiting their palette to three major colors per season. It's way too little for serious lululemon fans.

@ Zanna - What is very frustrating, and I have said this many times before, is that Lululemon has a ton of great designs that could easily re-release in the new colors. My suspicion is that these older designs, like the Vinyasa for instance, are much more complicated - lots of pieces and stitching - and expensive to make. However, that is the reason we bought them in the first place. It's very disappointing.

RE: graphics cut in
Yes, I realize it is intentional- I just don't think it looks good! :P

I'm getting bored with lulu, and i have a ton of pieces, all from last year, and this past winter. That rib tank can be bought at AA, The Gap, Express, etc. So sad, I used to run to lulu!

Went to my local store today. Tried on the ribbed tank in heathered clarity grey. As I mentioned in my first post, I thought I'd like it for everyday wear/layering. It is nothing special, no, but a good everyday piece and the material is much more substantial than a ribbed tank from any other common source such as Gap, etc. (It is nice for hiding any waistline imperfections). On another note: I was among the first ranting and poo-pooing the photo of the namaste wrap. I thought it looked horrid! Well, my store got in passion, black and putty grey. I decided to try on the black just so I could report back how horrid it was and guess what? I loved it on and I bought it! Nice, light stretchy modal material for dashing in/out of class during warm weather. The 3/4 sleeves are actually very refreshing and the ruching at the sides actually ends up giving it some shape/inward nip at the waist. It looks great hanging open (hot schlepy but stylish) and cute (although basic) tied in front. I returned my potion purple zen wrap (loved the color hated the wrap) because it was a baggy hot mess on me. SO, I say give the namaste wrap a GO. At $78 also not at the top price point for lulu.

@pilatesmom - The Beyond Yoga square necked ribbed tank is very heavy weight, too. It would definitely hide flaws.

The Pep Tank is a plain scoop neck and back and is in stores right now, so...
