Pics - Run: Like the Wind Singlet (blech), Get it Started Jacket (yuck!), Cool Racerback Stripe, Elevate Pant, New Bag, & Misc.

This color combination/blocking is hideous and looks like something Nike would make. The color blocking makes her shoulders/chest look narrow and her hips wide - just what I want all my tanks to do.

I was away skiing in Utah this past week but it looks like I didn't miss too much in this week's upload or new items in the stores. The Run: Like Wind Singlet doesn't look very flattering in the above photos. I can't imagine how the overlay top will look on a busty woman. The Lavender/Lime combo is particularly gross and very Nike-ish.

The Cool Racerback stripes are kind of cute but not ground-breaking. However, the limited color options will keep me from buying one. I don't like solid white tanks because of armpit yellowing, stain, and see-through issues.
Get It Started Jacket
I don't care for the Get It Started Jacket at all. It is way too boxy and does nothing for this woman. It's also too short. The ribbed portion at the bottom is another of those 80s looks I'd rather stayed in the 80s.
The Bubbilicious Scoop Neck tank is totally cute. I might have to get one.
What is this bag? I have something like 500 new emails in my inbox so I don't know if it's in one of my product alerts. It's reversible and I really like it although the black side out looks a little like a garden tote with those pockets. I like the orange side best.
I liked the photo of the Elevate pant when I saw it in the Product Alert but I don't care for it in the photos I've seen. The material doesn't look like it drapes well.

New Run Zoom Shorts (on right in last photo) - these look intriguing. They are made of power luxtreme. The Zoom crops go up to a 10 so I doubt the shorts come in any larger sizes.

The bag is the "Totally ToteTastic Tote." I got this in a product notification for the Union Square store in SF.

I am also getting the bubbilicious scoopneck tank. I might get the passion one as well. I haven't been that impressed with the tanks lately, but the scoopneck is my fav. I don't like the contrasting white on top. I wish they would make some solids. I tried the new wind singlet & it fits great but I can do without that extra flap of material on the chest. I wish they made it without it. I will definitely pass on that.

Has anybody seen the lime color in person? I'm wondering if it's more a neon green or yellowish green or what? Ugly or not?

The get it started jacket looks terrible. Very unflattering. I appreciate that they tried to do something a bit different with the cool racerback but a side racing stripe is very boring and the base colors are ones I already have (white and coal). I saw the exhale pants in store but didn't try them on - they felt like washable silk and not much weight to them so they don't lend to a good "draping" effect. The singlet flappy deal is ugly. I DID order the purity jacket for this week's upload - I've been anxiously awaiting it online! Also ordered the gather together when it made its brief reappearance (black with pow pink zipper - saw a gal with a black define with pow pink zipper and I just loved the bold contrast. For those of you with gather together jackets, what do you think of that jacket?

I too ordered the bubbalicous stripe scoopneck -- the only standout for me in this weeks upload -- I like the lavender but am so not a fan of the white contrast collar only because I feel like the white never stays bright white when it is mixed with other colors -- and once it looks dingy -- I won't wear it - I am lovin the orange tote -- I hope it is not as HUGE as the around town tote -- I ended up returning that one --

I am waiting on any comments about the circle mesh stink problem -- I don't own anything with the circle mesh so cannot comment -- but want to order the no limit -- but will hold out til I find out about the stink dilemma

Luluaddict -- glad ur back -- hope you had a great time!--

@ Pilatesmom - I have the Gather Together and absolutely love it. I love having a longer, butt-covering luon jacket to throw on after the gym. The hood has come in handy when I've had to dash to the gym in the rain. The big pockets are great to drop my keys or sunglasses into as I make my way from the car to the gym - something that was an issue in my old Shape jacket (tiny pockets) - because I am usually in too much of a hurry staking out a spin bike when I first get into the gym to tuck everything into my gym bag after I check in.

@ momof 5 - I wouldn't worry about the circle mesh in the no limit tank - the Flow Y part is the part that comes into contact with your armpit and the rest of the tank is really loose fitting so I don't know how much sweat is absorbed by the material. I love my No Limit tank and totally encourage you to order one. My circle mesh issue is primarily with my long sleeve running pullovers.

Welcome back! I missed your blog while you are gone. Hope you had a great vacation.

I think I will like the zoom shorts. As a petite person, most of the crops are too long for me.

I too like the bubbilicious scoopneck tank. But I am not sure whether it will be a bit see through.

Welcome back :-) The Wind singlet reminds me of nursing tops I had. Great for nursing...not so great for running.

My only worry about the new tote is that its made of neoprene...so it's basically a wetsuit material. It'd be durable but everything made of neoprene I've ever encountered has held onto its smell for a really long time. The concept is good but I know it'll definitely be a pass for me.

I like the run with the wind top, not in the purple though.. the trend is crop tops right now, so I can see why lulu made it. I will try it on and see how it looks.
I hate ruching, but I will try on the zoom shorts, they look less busy than the crops. The crops were a mess on my 5'3 frame, and every picture of the passion ones I see make me cringe.

I like the pink/bub top but am sick of the same designs... I already have two scoop neck tanks.. I don't really want a third.
That jacket is hideous....
Glad you are back.. missed reading your blog, hope your vacay was good!

Hope you had a nice holiday. Glad you're writing your blog again. I made it to the States and to a Lululemon store while I was there and tried the scoop neck on in bubbalicious, I loved it but it didn't love me, the colour was just wrong with my pale skin tone so I got the lavendar with white rim one instead. I'm hoping the white rim won't get too dirty. The new tote looks kind of cool.

Oh no- I hope crop length isn't coming back for tops! Yikes. I am so sick of seeing muffin tops and butt cracks! And that was when the extra long tops were the trend!!!

Welcome back!!! I got the pep tank the other day in black...it is going to work great with the Ta Ta Tamer, and I'm thrilled it's not a racerback. Saw the Zoom crops in person, but didn't even try them on because the sales girl said they were an even lower rise than the Empower Crops...I just can't do another low rise crop...

There was a rumor on Lulu's FB site that the groove pants might come in a straight leg. When I was at my local store today the sign that usually just says "groove pants Reg or Tall" now says "groove sneaker cut". I think they must be coming out with a straight leg. Has anyone else noticed this?

Pattybea said...

They squashed that rumor pretty quickly... The progression of grooves has been... a very wide flare with side seams, then a wide flare with no side seams, then a straight leg with no side seams, then due to much uproar...back to a flare, not as wide, but they called it the groove sneaker pant (fits over your sneakers??), which is still the current pant--basically--but they don't really call it the sneaker groove anymore and now they have the astro pant for those that like the straight leg.

Gee, I wish I had saved my tags over the years, these name changes are actually kind of funny...

I agree, buy the no limit. I love mine, it actually might be my new favorite. I love the scoops but am getting weary...Currently amassing many CRB's with flow y's...cute...

Love my wee stripe push ur limits. The fabric is a bit different than your typical luxtreme and I got many admiring compliments when I wore it.

I also bought the gather together jacket. Anxious to see if I like it.

There's also a new shorts called RUN : Zoom Bike Shorts

Adriana: Your link doesn't work, what store sent that prod. notification?

I love the fabric on the elevate pant and they looked great in the product photo, but the front of the pants is pleated (which is not super obvious from the photo). Pleated pants aren't flattering on very many people and the definitely did me no favors.

So are crop tops really in or are the designers and stores trying to make them in again, like harem pants? I'll have to pull my head out of my navel and see if I spot anybody wearing this look but I really haven't noticed it on tv shows and the celeb gossip sites I read.

@ Pattybea - I'm going to have to try on the Wee Stripe Push UR Limits. I really like my bubbilicious one and would love a second Push.

Its funny you should comment on that luluaddict, I kept seeing them all over the place (in stores and on people) when I visited CA, especially Santa Monica. I am guessing its designer driven? I think its a layered crop top, short top, long top underneath. I kinda of like the look, but I need to work on my midsection, its not forgiving after a big meal! :)

Marci said...

PS - I don't really like the RLW top in the photos you put up, but it might be cute in all black, depending how the fabric falls on me.
It does not look good on that girl in the pink, I think this may be a top where looser is better, and that top looks too snug on her (IMO).

I agree those tanks are hideous! They don't seem to be very flattering. The worst one is the lavender/lime color combo--yuk!

And I too passed on the striped crb. I don't like white tanks for workout and I already have a coal crb. A solid stripe down the side doesn't make me want to pay $40+ for another one. If they had it in a new color that would be a different story...

I saw that tote in store today! Unfortunately I didn't get the name, but I can tell you it is HUGE. And I mean really HUGE. I felt like I could crawl in it! Maybe a good beach bag, but I can't imagine having this for daily use.

i don't understand the double layer on the run like the wind singlet. doesn't look flattering in any of the pics, maybe the all white is the best looking one.

striped racerback isn't bad.

i like the scoop neck, but i'm a size 6/32D and from the reviews I've read, I'm afraid it won't contain me for my running (maybe better for riding my bike/spinning?) Probably won't be able to get to a store to try it on before they're gone.

Hope you had a great time skiing! I've only skiied in the NE (NY/VT) - would love to ski out west sometime.
