Principle Jacket in Loot

Lululemon added a few new things to Loot, including all their Principle Jackets - even the new Coal and white one.  It's only marked down by $19 but at least it's more in the range it should have started at. I got the black one. I liked this jacket when I tried it on, I just didn't want to pay $108 for such a short jacket. (How funny - I just re-read my own try-on review and I said I'd consider getting it if it got marked down by $20 or so.) I like the tailored look and the quilted details - this jacket seemed very solidly made and that it wouldn't lose its shape after washing  (which is a concern I have with some of the french terry jackets). I love how the jacket looks in this photo - now all I need is a motorcycle to complete the look.  ;-)

PS - So what is up with all these clothes moving to Loot so fast? The Devi crops and pants are in there at a fairly attractive $59, considering they were $86 and $98 to start with. The useless Pick Me Up bra is $24, from $42. The shlumpy Go With the Flow and no-way-in-hell-a-replacement-for-the-Deep -V All Out Tanks are $39. I'm hoping these flops underscore to Lululemon they have problems with their design team. They may not believe what they read on Facebook and on this blog, but I'm sure their bottom line speaks volumes to them.

Sad to see the All Out Tank is sold out in my size, I would have bought it!

I like the all out tank too -- my favorite feature is the detail on the bust hides the outline of the cups -- I hate when you can see the cup outline -- although it doesnt replace the Deep v as my favorite -- I will happily scoop one up for $40! Bummed the principle sold out in my size -- i would have gotten one too!

Dori, call the Palo Alto store and see if they'll do a charge send. I was in the store yesterday and they had tons of sizes. I tried it on but it made my already small chest look like two fried eggs--not cute on me at all.

I bought the all out tank in white and the devi pants in white also. I am on the fence about the principle jacket..even at $89. It is pretty telling when everything is marked down so fast..

I am thinking about the principle jacket, debating between coal and black... I even like the black/pink but don't want to be limited by a colour. I wish it was a little cheaper.

I can't even rationalize the principle jacket at that price...off the topic~did you see how fast the zen wrap sold out...wool, spring, $118...?

Speaking of things going quickly to loot being telling... did anyone notice the blog post about the design director? Says she wanted to be design director within 10 years, but with hard work she did it in 5. That certainly speaks to me in line with the comments on here about the design team being inexperienced, and having changed recently.

Anon 7.23pm : I did read about it and actually asked a question on the blog on what are the plans for future lululemon products but no reply. It looks like she became Design Director prob late 2009/early 2010. The stuff that are out now, was probably designed and approved by her predecessor about 1year or more ago. So here's hoping that she will able to bring more innovative, tasteful and function designs. Let's hope for some vast improvements and hope our cries and whines are heard.

I LOVE my principle jacket. Worth every penny. It's stylish and very well-built and well-made. I wear it with everything and always get compliments. A real statement piece.

Re: Principle Jacket... it's cute but I still cannot justify spending that much on half of a jacket. In my opinion, the less material there is, the lower the price should be. Same with the Devi & Flashback crops vs Devi & Flashback pants... I would rather get the pant for the same price, and in the case of the FB pant, I can fold it up to look just like the crop. Which I did, now I have 2 pants in one. Although the FB crop was cheaper than the pant when I bought it, now the price has been mysteriously raised.

@Corinne - I agree the Principle Jacket is a bit pricey but it has a lot of design details - quilted collar and sleeves, the cuffs on the sleeves are zippered, it is double layered through the front so you can show off the contrasting collar. The extra details jack up the price a bit compared to a more simply constructed Shape jacket.

Did anyone else notice the Want to Run a Marathon-- blog on the Lulu Site -- it is the top picture -- it depicts about 15 I am guessing, educators, dressed in 80's style -- however-- they are all wearing current style Lulu in current colors -- If this is supposed to make me go out a buy something -- They are delusional!!! It actually makes me want to burn the stuff I have that is in the photo!! Everything is mismatched and tacky IMO - besides ill-fitting -- Definitely not a good moment to "get out the brand"!!! What were they thinking! I know it is spoofy -- but still -- they are the clothes they are selling currently!! Gag me with a spoon!!!! LOL!

Thanks for the info about the new loot items! I was about to order the principal jacket online, but I wanted to see if my local store marked it down too. It was actually $79 instead of the $89 on the website! I couldn't pass that up!

Thank you for the comment left by your reader, I was able to get a Principle Jacket at $79 at the store! I love it - a very stylish jacket, I'm really looking forward to wearing it! Unfortunately, it's been raining here, so I might have to wait until later to wear it!

Luluaddict - how are you liking your principal jacket? I'm tempted to get one but I'm worried about it emphasizing the wrong parts of my body. I really like the picture you posted and how it is styled but the woman in the pic is super tiny. An update would be greatly appreciated!!

@anon - I love my Principle Jacket. It gives me extra coverage on my shoulders and upper back to keep me warm. I am a pear shape so I leave the jacket hanging open and I think it gives me more balance between my top and bottom that way. I only wish it had more substantial pockets.
