Today's Upload

Lulu Crop

Did anyone get anything from today's upload? I got a black Flashback jacket but that is it. I like the Lulu crops but I just bought the loot Flashback crops and don't need anymore french terry crops, particularly $64 ones. I wonder why they changed the design on the new Flashback crops and eliminated the leg pleats. As some one commented here, the leg pleats made the Flashback crops unusual.
New Flashback crop - no leg pleats

Old Flashback crops - with pleats

Did anyone notice hot the Hot Yogi Tank and Bra doesn't even fit the web model right? Her boobs are totally smashed and in the tank the cups are not long enough so the band that goes under the breasts are riding up. Why are they making the cups so small on these tanks and bras?

The Chevron Modern Racer Tanks (at full price) do nothing for me. Do you like them?

At first I thought that the chevron design of the modern racer was alright, but the more I thought about it, the more I didn't like it...especially for $42! I feel like this print is something that I could find for a 1/4 of the price at Forever 21 or something....you know what I mean?

I didn't get anything from the upload today, though I bought a flashback jacket in grey/passion last week in store, and I love it! I just find that the new flashback crops are too boring to pick up at full price. I LOVED the pleating/rouching on the side of the old ones--they made them unique! When I tried on the new flashback crops, my top covered the colored stripe on the top, so then they just looked like regular sweatpants...and I don't want to pay almost $70 for regular grey sweatpants! I was lucky to find a pair of the old flashback crops in my size on loot instead! :)

I was gonna get the black Flashback jacket also, goes with everything and I like the fit much more than the Free 2B.

I actually own both colors of the chevron print Modern RB Tanks; LOVE the bright colors and patterns.

I have a question for runners: what is your favorite running bra? I've been using the Flow Y, but it starts chaffing on long distance runs and I need to find another bra.

Thanks!

I tried on the Free2B jacket today and the Flashback Jacket. The FB was not flattering - too much going on in the front with the waistband stripes, the tilted pockets, the contrast stitching. For me it also looked too baseball jacket-ish. I was disappointed as I love the lime color. The Free2B was surprisingly nice. The FB skirt is unfortunately really, really short. I like the chevron stripe whisper tank, but it's a tough sell for me at $42.

I got the flashback skirt and both chevrons tanks (glad becase the size 4 in those are already long gone a couple hours later...)

Emma - My favorite running bra is one that Lulu stopped making - it was called the Classic Bra - I love it and it crushes me that it seems to have been discontinued. But I have two of the All Sport Bras as well and have never had any chafing problems with them, even on 20 mile training runs. I'm pretty small breasted though and have never had much in the way of chafing problems with sports bras generally. If you are bustier, word is the Ta-Ta Tamer is terrific. But I've never had the chance to test it since they don't make it in a small enough size for me. Apparently Lulu thinks small ta-tas do not need taming. :)

I didn't get anything -- Although I love my OLD style flashback crops - they are comfy around the house pants for me -- and at full price --I'd rather take the chance that they will hit loot -- Side note --got my flashback shorts from loot -- and love them -- nice length -- nice fit -- not as loose as the crops - but definitely recommend for summer around the house/to the beach -- too short for working out though

I was on the fence with the whisper chevron - but it is sold out in my size now anyhow -- Oh well -- didn't LOVE it
Did anyone else notice the new remix's for 118 -- whats up with that -- does the distressed edge really add 20 buck to the price -- i mean it's cute -- but really -- 20 bucks more?

ChiRunner - very funny! :)

Emma, I'm not much of a runner (just short distances), but I do boot camp at least 4 times a week and I swear by the Ta Ta Tamer...you may want to give it a try...

I didn't buy anything from today's upload, BUT this week I did buy 4 pairs of the tracker shorts (which are my new faves) and went waaaay beyond my comfort zone and tried the scoop neck tank. I was surprised how flattering it was on, I really liked the fabric and I think it will give me enough support for boot camp...I ended up getting three.

I had also gotten a pair of the mynah crops earlier in the week, but decided to return them. I like them a lot, no real negatives, but it's starting to get hot here and I need more summer items...hopefully when fall rolls around Lulu will do a crop with a rise and features similar to the run spirit tights (finger's crossed).

ChiRunner, thanks! I was thinking about trying the All Sports Bra. I was pretty shocked with the chaffing because I am small chested and have never had that problem before, but it is my first time training for a marathon and I definitely haven't ran distances this long before.

I bought the Lulu crops and am returning the chevron stripe racerback. The more I looked at it, the more it did nothing for me (just like Lacey :) ). I love my Flashback Jacket in lime...the color makes me happy!

I love my Lulu pants and was going to get another pair, then the Lulu crops popped up in the new colours so I was tempted to get them instead....but then I saw the price! There is enough material in the Lulu pants to make 2 pairs of crops and they only cost $10 more!!

@momof5: I got the grey flashback shorts in loot too and LOVE them. So comfy and I think a really cute fit (cuter fitting than the crops I think). Anyway, if they still had other colors in loot I'd grab em. Until then, I'll wait until the new colors hit loot...

I ended up getting the Modern Racerback tank in Ash/multi chevron. Maybe I'm just nostalgic for the 80s but I love it. LOL

I also picked up the Mynah crops in black/lavendar and the Run: Roll Down shorts in passion/coal.

I'd love to get a Free to Be jacket but I can't justify it. I have too many hoodies as it is.

@Pilatesmom -- I like the fit of the flashback shorts better than the crop as well --- more fitted than loose, but not tight, right -- The new crops have already been moved down to the middle of the page online -- so they should be hitting Loot soon i think -- Hopefully the shorts too -I like the grey with lavender stripe

I got two pair of Lulu crops and a pair of the Lulu pants II. I wanted something casual around the house. I just bought my first french terry hoodie last week and wanted to have a matching outfit. I hope I like the length.

Do you size down in the flashback? I had to for the Free 2 be...
Appreciate any advice.

I was just at my local store this afternoon and all of the flashback crops, including the newest version without the ruching on the side, were already marked down to $39.

I've heard flashback is TTS. I think I could have sized down in the free 2 be. If they have the smaller size in the store this weekend I will test it out. The arms are a bit baggy and give me a saggy upper arm look (yes, WAY flattering- haha).

I go nothing today. Don't like the sport "baseball" styling of the flashback either. I did buy a used pulse wrap today though- hoping I will like it when it finally arrives from Canada!

The chevron tanks are a bit disappointing in comparison to the older prints lulu has offered. I would appreciate them MUCH more if the print was on the back as well as the front.
No purchsases for me today. I'm hoping for some new color combos in the empower crops. And hopefully some WWA's.... Altho those might not be reappearing online again until the fall.... Hopefully.

I bought zilch.. nada today. Nothing new or exciting. I kinda like the flashback short, but I bought a skirt just like this 3 summers ago... This upload would make you wonder if they are an "athletic" company or just a company that sells knockoff casual sportswear.

Is there a certain time they upload new items on the site? I checked early this morning and I didn't really see anything new, especially not the jacket you posted. Thanks!

I too bought nothing from today's upload. Instead I took the opportunity to order an Apres Yoga Jacket. Recently I've bought items from the exchange page as well. Nothing new lately has measured up, in my opinion, to some of the older pieces. Many companies (Patagonia, for one) are coming out with sun-protective sport wear, I'm thinking I'm crazy to hope lulu would put out such a useful product as summer approaches.

anonymous- are you looking for fabrics with UPF in them? Lululemon does have several with a UPF rating of 40 ("excellent", and blocks 97.5% of rays)..Ascent (think kahuna pants/shorts, and "UPF Jersey" are a couple examples (even the super thin, white UPF Jersey has a rating of 40)

UPF rating system for fabrics ( the amount of radiation that penetrates a fabric and reaches the skin)

Or, is there something else super cool going on as regards to sun protective sportwear? I'm intrigued!

Anonymous said...

@anon, where are you seeing UPF ratings for lulu fabrics? I think you also listed only men's items. Aside from the swiftly tech tee (which I find hard to believe would have a decent UPF rating, even though I love this shirt) there are no other running options in tees for the ladies.

I do not care for the designs on the Modern Racer Tanks. Too 80's for my taste.

I tried on the Hot Yogi Tank and bought it today. It's a little more revealing than I might typically go for, but as long as I wear it to the local hot yoga studios that are full of Lululemon fans, I don't think anyone is going to judge. I tried on the Hot Class Tank as well. I like the top of that one better, but I decided to go for the Hot Yogi Tank because it is longer, and I am tall. I didn't notice that it doesn't really fit the model; nice catch! Thanks for pointing it out. How unfortunate that it's riding up like that. I'll have to double check before I take the tags off to make sure that wasn't happening to me without my realizing it. I have a tiny ribcage so I think I'll be OK...

@ChiRunner
The ta ta tamer comes in a 32B which is pretty small.
