Today's Upload: Got Gift Cards in my Wallet, But Nothing I Want to Buy

Kind of a weird upload today. The Alarming Power Y was uploaded but not the Oasis version. However, the new Oasis Grooves and Rock Out pants were uploaded. So, if you want to make an outfit with those pants and a Power Y you'll have to call the GEC to get the Oasis Power Y. Neither the Alarming nor the Oasis Defines were uploaded and they are in the stores now.

The new Light Up Shorts were uploaded but I think people will be very disappointed in them. The padding is very small and nearly non-existent (i.e., very thin). They are fine for an indoor class. If you really want luluemon bike shorts, then buy the Saxo bank bibs in the above photo. I can't dissuade people enough from getting the Light Up shorts for outdoor cycling.

I might be interested in getting the above Scuba Hoodie since it's a little longer than the Remix. However, I've read you should size up from your normal Remix size? Have you guys found that is true? I'd really like to try it on first.

I also like the Rock Out pants but only three colors were uploaded - solid black, coal, and the Oasis. I read a review on the website that said the Rock Outs were friendlier to women with larger thighs than the Grooves. Have you guys found that to be true? I'll have to try them on next time I'm in the store.

I saw the Alarming Inner Strength tank in the store last week and thought it was really cute. I am hoping some other tanks come out in this color but they seem to be arriving so slowly so I'm not hopeful.

What did you all buy today?

I tried on the scuba and found it true to size. It is a little more snug at the sides than the remix, but I didn't think it was enough to change sizes. I MUCH prefer the fit to the remix - I've always found the remix boxy on my shoulders, tight on my chest, and too short. I ordered the two tone grey scuba but am hoping to see solids in the near future. I feel like lulu spaces out new colors just far enough that it's out of the 2 week return window.

Thanks, Anonymous. The Remix fits me the same - loose in the shoulders, tight in the chest, and too short. Interesting theory about spacing out colors and the return period - you could be right. That's why I'm not getting Oasis Rock Out pants yet. I'm not sure I love the color that much.

I'm going to go to my local Lulu at lunch to try on the Scuba hoodie and possibly pick up a Cool Racerback in Oasis if they have them in stock. Not a super exciting update today and like the previous commenter, I'm wondering if I should wait to get the Scuba in a solid color...

If the Rock Outs are the same cut as last year, I would say they are pretty similar to the grooves in the thigh. I sold all of mine because the rise was just too low to be flattering and they slid down after jumping or running. I sure loved the straight leg though...

The only scuba I have liked so far it the two tone gray. I perfer to wear my remix loose, so not really interested in the scuba if it is a snug fit.

I rode 60 miles outdoors on the Vineman course (very bumpy roads) Sunday with the Light Up shorts and found them quite comfortable. They didn't ride up and the chamois was adequate for my needs.

OK, let's talk SCUBA. I went into my store to try it on and I am having a serious love affair with this jacket!!! I like my remixes and I have quite a few BUT I always said to myself they would be PERFECT if:
a couple of inches longer in the body
longer in the arms with thumbholes being a bonus
A bit narrower through the torso
Added stretch for comfort, ease of movement.
Guess, what? The scuba is ALL THAT. I hope the scuba replaces the remix altogether and if more come out in solids and prints (which I assume it will), I'll be buying a few more and probably ebaying all but my most fave handful of pattern remixes that I own. I stayed true to size (6) but also tried on the 4 and 8 for comparison. 4 was too tight. 8 was a touch to roomy, especially since it is obvious that this particular scuba style is supposed to be fitted and is comfortable fitted. I got the oasis/grey. Tried all the four color combos and that is the one that popped the most on me. The nice thing about the color blocking with the grey side panels is that it is very slimming because the eye is drawn to the slimmer stipe of color down the torso. Regardless of colorblocking, the scuba is more slimming that the remix due to the length and fitted torso. LOVE.

FYI: I like the rockouts but they are only going to be for you if you like a very low rise.

Wow, Molly, 60 miles in those shorts. I am impressed! You must callouses on your hoo-ha ;-)

LuluAddict said...

Uh oh, Pilatesmom, you are talking me into ordering a Scuba hoodie.

Molly said...

LOL! Just a really good saddle :-) No contact with the hoo-ha whatsoever thanks to the ISM Adamo (it's cutout in the middle). Lots of lube helps too!

LuluAddict said...

@Molly - Those saddles look sweet! Cut outs definitely help.

I also wore my light up shorts last week for a 25 mile ride and no issues with the hoo-ha ;P LOL! and my saddle doesn't have a cut out in it- just a standard women's saddle on my road bike. The chamois is thinner than traditional biking shorts but adequate for me. Personal comfort in the saddle can also depend on how you sit on your saddle. Love the light up shorts and the jersey too!

I did end up ordering the bib shorts too, because really I can never have enough cycling shorts! They do wear out over time :)

I bought a Stride II Jacket in Oasis!

I'm still trying to catch up on what I want from the last round of colors - still wanting a CRB in wish blue. And was really hoping for a pair of Stratus Crops in Black/Wish/Citron. What happened to those? Wonder why they haven't made it to the website yet.

I'm LOVING the Scuba in Gray/Alarming! I feel like i've gone jacket crazy! I just bought a Wish Blue Define last week and am in LOVE. Followed by the Stride in Oasis this morning...and I still want the Coal/Citron Define! I'm in trouble!!

I bought a 4 in the define and it fits like a glove. I ordered a 2 in the stride as i was told to size down if I wanted it to be more fitted. So what size do I get in the Scuba?

pilatesmom said...

@M: definately get a 4 in the scuba. it will be fitted, you don't have to size down.

I just got back from trying on the scuba hoodie and I also say it's true to size. I used to size down in the remix if the sides were ribbed but stay regular size in standard remix. Love the new scuba and won't buy a regular remix again. The scuba length is perfect and as everyone is saying it's not boxy. I didn't buy one, I'm holding out for solid colors. If I had to get one I'd get the coal. I received a product notification that CRB's are coming in River Rock. I haven't seen any FB pictures of it yet but it's in one of my local stores. I just bought the groove pants in oasis/river rock to match my oasis CRB. It's still summer and does seem strange to be buying full length pants. It was very foggy and cold here the other day and I did pull out a pair of groove pants to workout it.

I bought the alarming inner strength tank this morning. I hope I like the fit as well as the color. I love the bold LuLu colored tanks so this one fit the bill. I keep waiting for more medium support colorful (not pastel) tanks with built-in bras and I keep waiting and waiting. When are they going to bring back the Athletic Deep V or something similar? I still don't understand why they discontinued that tank.

Didn't buy it today - but it was in today's upload: I got the Oasis Stride jacket on monday at my store (sized down). I posted about it on my blog. Placed an online order for the Black Circle Mesh CRB and the Run: Zoom Crops in black that hit loot again.

Scuba looks cute, I like the two colors (I know some on fb don't) but can't justify two expensive hoodies right now.

@Molly- 60 miles, good for you! Maybe you have a nice comfy bike seat too...

I wore my Lulu Tri-babe shorts from last summer for a 30 mile bike ride w/hubby a couple weekends ago.

Totally agree with pilatesmom..LOVE LOVE the fit & style of the new scuba hoodie.....it is very flattering..I stayed tts, same size as my remix....thinking about the coal one, but not sure about the two tone, but LOVE the lolo purple...I agree, hope it replaces the old remix, I will keep my very favs of those & sell the others....scuba is much better all around....rock out pants are very cute, but they sure look like a very low rise....

I think I'm the only one that doesn't like the style of the new scubas. While I'm hearing the length is longer (I like!), I don't like the bold color-blocking. It looks very late-80s to me, and somewhat unappealing.

I do however really like the quilted boogie shorts. Very cute. The outfit on the blond featuring the shorts is by far my favorite.
