A Rant on the newest Push UR Limits Colors

Ok, why did Lululemon make the new Senorita and River Rock Push UR Limts virtually the same? They used Static Dark Classic Sport Gray for the body and changed the color of the straps. They already had a Push with a dark classic sport body and black straps. Why have three of the same? Why would I want three virtually identical Push UR Limits? I have no problem owning the same top in different colors - I have six Deep Vs and something like eight Cool Racerbacks. I would have bought a Senorita Pink version with gray straps. I might have bought a River Rock with gray straps. I also really like the initial version with the black straps. Now that you made them all the same I'm only going to get one when I might have potentially bought all three. What idiot thought this was a good idea?

I was really looking forward to the Senorita Pink Push UR Limits - oh well

On the other hand, the lolo and power purple one is quite nice. I wish I had a back view that showed the contrasting straps better.

All this grey/color combo is becoming boring to me. So unimaginative. Where are the prints and pretty color combos like the lolo/power purple?

Lolo - Power Purple is really nice and I think I will get that tank. River Rock with Oasis straps in the Push would have been nice, too.

I don't really care for the gray straps or gray accent colors, unless the main color is black or gray and the overall look is monochromatic. I mostly wear black pants so when you have gray as an accent color in a colored top it doesn't tie the top into the pants and I think the overall look is disjointed.

I agree -- the grey predominant color with a pop of other color is old -- how much grey do we need -- I was planning on getting the scoopneck with grey and pink -- and I would have bought either the river or senorita push if it was in the reverse combo -- but now -- do I need 3 virtually the same grey top?
I think the Power y looks so pretty with the pink color and contrasting grey straps -- that color combo would have been nicer in the push-- so instead of 5 tanks -- i will get 2 --

All the gray and the never-ending strips have been going-on for three seasons already. They continue to underwhelm me in the design (and graphic ) department. Oh where did the creativity go (must have left with the woman who started Zella)?

I would have liked a solid push ur limits in senorita pink. I also mostly wear black bottoms so the gray accent band doesn't work well.

Has anyone tried reversible groove crops? I recently got these in wish blue / black, but they do not fit the same as the non-reversibles. Much smaller and very think. I see they just came out in purple, which I would love, but can't figure out the fit!

Why are you so hostile and critical of everything? Not just this post, either. There is a lot of hostility and just plain witchy-ness on this blog. You seem like a really angry and negative person.

Hey Diane H... it's her blog and venting is a perfectly acceptable thing. Better to be 100% honest and open on your feelings than sugar-coating everything all of the time. People pay a lot of money for Lulu and deserve to have opinions.

I happen to completely agree that the grey/black/static is getting old and we need prints ON the colored items.

If you don't like, don't read. Or better yet it may mean you can start your own blog ;)

Wow Dianne H, your comment doesn't make you any better... I love luluaddicts honesty. She calls it like she sees it. Agree or disagree, it is her blog, so if you don't like her opinions, then leave, but don't leave cowardly mean-spirited comments.

Wow -- I actually think Luluaddict has been very kind to this new color line-up and fall line --

We are all entitled to our opinions -- and to vent about certain product/quality(s). If Diane wants all rainbows and sunshine -- she should stick to reading the lululemon facebook site! ME-- on the other hand want an honest opinion to aid in deciding if I should purchase an expensive item or not! Keep up the good work Luluaddict!

Ok, I admit I was cranky when I first wrote this post but then I went back and deleted the really scathing stuff. I do believe it's idiotic to make a bunch of nearly identical tanks. I really suspect a man is in charge of these decisions. What woman fills their wardrobe with a bunch of the same item in the same color? Does no one ever take a global view - post up photos on the wall - of the collections year after year and go - wow, we've got a lot of the same ideas being repeated over and over.

I love Lululemon clothes. Love. I spend 90% of my clothing money on it. They've got me addicted to new stuff coming out every week so when I don't get my Lulu 'fix' I get annoyed and frustrated. I really was looking forward to a Senorita Pink Push UR Limits.

HoundLvr67 - Do you really think Zella is separate from Lululemon? Or is it a joint venture? Some of the items are so close in design - eg, Zella version of Still crops and Grvoove pants - you would think Lululemon would have sued them by now for copyright infringement.

I do admit some Zella is really cute and different looking and I wish the designs showed up in Lululemon's fabrics.

The double "Ls" of Zella have me guessing too. Either it is a disgruntled Lulu employee that is poking fun at Chip Wilson's love of the "l" or it is a division of Lulu. I had heard and found out through linkedin that one of the key marketing and or designers left for Zella (can't remember which). I've been tempted by Zella many a time...

Zella pants/shorts/crops are nowhere near the quality of lulu - I know, I've tried all three. The price is nicer, but, as they say - you get what you pay for.

I am in love with citron - it makes me feel happy. I've bought the Vinyasa hat and scarf, both in citron. Boo to gray!

i have tried the zella pants also and returned them because the quality isnt the same as lulu - they are VERY similar in quality to Zobha -- close but lacking something special -- I can't comment about the Zella tops because I havent tried -- I read that it was started by an old designer of Lulu -- they are REMARKABLY similar designs --but even target has knock off lulu groove pants now (look not quality)

I agree with you that it'd be nice to have more variety with the colours, BUT I think it's smart to also have the greys paired with different coloured straps (for the women who love the grey but hate the pink straps (or the riverock straps)...kinda the "something for everyone" thing. (although I think it would be sweet to do that AND have more solids..who knows, maybe there will be, and they're just "on the way")

LuluAddict said...

I know Zella isn't nearly the quality, especially the fabric, but the look of the pants is very similar to some of lululemon's that is why I think there may be (or was) some sort of secret joint venture.

I don't think people hate the gray
Push UR Limits or other gray tops, it's just that there has been a lot of gray-oriented tops for the past year or more so people might have gotten their fill for now. I guess it makes a nice change from using black or white as a second color. However, I really think the next avenue lululemon should pursue is the monochromatic one - like using lolo purple and power purple together or oasis and river rock. That look is very nice. I am also thinking we are going to see more of the static versions of colors like in the new static lolo and static oasis. Those are very cute ideas and I would think there is a good chance we'll see some Push UR Limits in those sometime in the future.

I do hope some solid Push UR Limits come out in Senorita and River Rock but they don't typically release 8 different versions of the same tank at one time so I doubt it. They've already released Citron, Oasis, and the stch/black a few weeks ago and now Gray/Senorita, Gray/River Rock, and Lolo/Power. That's usually about it for a release cycle. I would think the next batch will come in whatever the next color group is.

I think Zella is a Nordstrom brand...like Caslon and Halogen...
