Today's Upload - Effortless Hoodie - Love!

Effortless Hoodie

I'm not a huge hoodie or jacket person but I like the look of this hoodie and ordered the heathered lolo one. I might have ordered the black one but my size was already sold out!  Also, I think the unfinished edges show up best in the lolo and it looks a little like denim. I hope it isn't too purple in person. There is lots of poo-pooing on the facebook site this morning (although sizes are already selling out an hour after the upload!) and people saying they prefer the Flashback Pullover to the Effortless. I much prefer the look of the Effortless - it has a straight fit all the way down and I really like the unfinished edges. I also like the open v-neck over the weird neck of the Flashback pullover.  My only complaint is the stamped logo. I think the logo should be embroidered on all french terry pieces but I do like the distressed look.

 Flashback Pullover

Feel the Love Pullover

I also ordered the Lolo Push UR Limits but am not sure if I will keep both this and the hoodie. I already have three Push tanks and one is the Potion Purple so I don't really need this one.

What did you all order today?

Update - New Effortless Hoodie Colors Added - Static Mid Gray/Static Dark Gray Combo and solid Static Mid Gray. I like the combo one but I have a Remix Light that is a similar combination of classic sport gray and dark classic sport gray so I won't change my order.

Static Mid Gray/ Static Dark Gray - cute!

I think it reminds me more of the "feel the love" pullover than the flashback pullover..

Good one, Anon 8:57 am - I'll put up a photo of the Feel The Love so we can compare. The FTL was a tighter fit at the bottom.

I'm ordering it- but am concerned about the hood. It looks HUGE.

I love this hoodie -- i also ordered the purple =so pretty --- but wasn't sure of the fit so got a 4 and a 6 --
I hated the flashback pullover -- way too overwhelming i thought -- and wasn't big on the neckline -- this one looks comfy and casual in a flattering way! Nice Surprise -- and for once the US side got an extra color!

Also got the push in the static/pink combo -- i like the look of the lolo but just can't get past the luxtreme fabric -- I just do not like it for tops on me!

Broke down and got the grooves in the purple combo also- I was torn between the rock it and the groove but wish the rock it would have either been in the static pink or river rock combo with the grey to match the push or the scoop neck instead of the lolo static combo that doesn't yet have a grey lolo combo top -- I hate when they do that!!

Only think I got was the brish run toque...dissapointed upload. I guess I have to go to my store to get the vest I want:(

The hood does look huge but I don't intend to wear it up. Every lulu hoodie with a huge hood makes me look like the Emperor from Star Wars.

The Effortless Hoodie is cute, but I just can't justify $78 right now for what is essentially just a very basic hoodie with no unique features. (And I just picked up a Flashback Pullover on markdown for $79.)

On a side note: I love the reflective purple ombre plaid on the Run: Speed Shorts. Why, why, why didn't Lulu make the reflective Track and Field jackets in this super cute plaid instead of that lame, washed out looking pajama stripe? I would have bought that jacket in purple reflective plaid in a heartbeat.

Canadian side didn't get heathered lolo Effortless hoodie or lolo push your limits - just thought I would point that out since you failed to mention it - unlike when the US was shorted a few items.

@momof5 - US frequently gets product first - besides Canada really should get the product first - I know most Americans think its all about them.

@ Anon - Canada got the lolo Push UR Limits.

This blog primarily comments about the Lululemon available in the US because that is where I live. The set up of the Lululemon website makes it hard for anyone to compare what each country has/doesn't have - the "this just in" and search features do not capture what they are supposed to so I have to bounce between each side, quickly memorize the page, and then mentally compare what I see. Also, colors of the same style are scattered all over the page and not grouped together further complicating things. But, feel free to make a list comparing the uploads between each country. More often than not we get the same things but when a color shows up in Canada that I want I am vocal about us not getting it. Like, where are my Citron, Coal, Lolo, and Oasis mesh headwraps? Dang it, I need a lolo mesh headwrap.

I'm not a fan of the Effortless Hoodie. I like the Heathered Lolo color, but just not a fan of the overall style. I agree with Chirunner that it seems to be a basic hoodie with no unique features. Also, I don't care for the destressed look.

@ Anon 9:26 Canada did get the Lolo Push Ur Limits Tank. We also got Lolo Savasanah Wrap.

@ Anon 9:28 Why should one country over the other receive product first? Personally, I think both countries should receive products and colors at the same time. I highly doubt that, as you put it, "most Americans think its all about them". That is a pretty broad generalization. Just my opinion.

@Anons 9:26 and 9:28. I think that, regardless of what side of the border you are on, it is always frustrating when an item you want is only available on the other side of the site or only in stores in the other country. It's not about anyone on either side feeling like it is or should be "all about them."

Lululemon's decisions about what will be made available where often seem really random. Ideally, the same products should be made available on both sides of the site at the same time - and there's really no reason why they can't be.

LuluAddict said...

I tend to think the reason the two different countries get different colors/items is more due to import and scheduling issues rather than a conscious decision that the US would prefer a lolo hoodie and Canada doesn't. I would assume Lululemon waits until the items are available for both countries but if something is holding one side up, they make the call to release to one side only initially and then quietly put the it up on the other side. It's pretty rare where both sides don't eventually end up with the same color available.

I'm stunned at how cheap the distressed stamp logo looks on this hoodie. How much work would it have honestly been to embroider like usual, especially for the price Lulu fans pay...?

My comment about "its all about them" was a little rude, I admit, but so was momof5's gloating about how the US "finally" got extra colours. Does she think only Americans are on the Internet? Hello?!! Rude, plain rude.

momof5 said...

@anon --I reread my comment because I was perplexed by the hostility --and I wasn't gloating -- I was merely mentioning -- i think you are a tad bit defensive -- Canada has all the savasanas including the new lolo that the US does not as well as the fireside pants and the mesh headwraps -- plus you guys have access to the lab -- It wasn't meant as a GLOAT at all -- Jeez -- Chill out :)

Pattybea said...

I am wondering why the new gather and crow crop doesn't have the elastic at the bottom anymore??

Anonymous said...

@momof5 -chill out -right back at ya :)

Gina said...

@ Pattybea, I noticed the missing elastic too! Soo, I guess we can consider the new gather and crows like the boogie crop with a wider waistband? I'm alittle confused about this one...

Anonymous said...

@ Anon 10:$2 - IMO, I don't think momof5 was being rude at all - nor gloating, I didn't see her say "nananana - hahaha Canada". *THAT* would have been gloating. She never even said the US "finally" got another color, as you quoted. Her original statement was that it was a surprise that the US got an extra color for once.

Just sayin'...

As for me, I like the pullover, would love to see if in the static gray - but full on static, not the lighter gray cuffs and bottom.

Maybe people complained about the elastic and were asking about the boogies, so they modified their look? Though usually when they update a pair of pants/crops they say "Groove II" or something of that nature so we know there are different features. You're right, Confusing!

Still unhappy no Inspire Pullover .. big bummer.

The gathering at the bottom was what made them so cute...at least on my legs. This is the only crop that looked good on me.

Fortunately I bought many this year...7 including all three with the cute matching elastic. Unfortunately, they will not last forever...

A little late to the party here, but from my perspective, the Canadian side gets a more things that the US doesn't have access to (or maybe it's only the items I have an incredible interest in). Of course Lulu is a Canadian company, and that's to be expected, but I can see how it would be a nice surprise if the US got an extra color, or an item before Canada.

I, too, am frustrated that the sides differ and Lulu has separate inventory to avoid shipping over borders. I heard that Canada has Lolo Savasana Wraps as well as new Modern Racers in Lolo and Heathered Charcoal (these are my FAVORITE tanks!). And briefly this spring there was an SE CRB that was way more interesting to me than any of the SEs the US received --they had a thick colored stripe down the side.

Oh well, gripe over. I wish I had friends in Canada to help buy me goodies. I work a 5-minute walk from a store though, so I probably buy enough stuff. :-)

I bought an effortless hoodie, in the mid/dark static. I bought two sizes, and will return one (or both!). I am going to have to really love it to pay $78 for this. I also got a FIF bag in ivy and a black eagle bra. I'd been hoping both of these items would be uploaded today. They might have been at my local stores but going with my several kids is so unappealing...

Lolo define jackets are up and marked at$79. I am guessing that priced is a mistake... Not as big as the mismarked hoodies, but $20 off isn't bad!

LuluAddict said...

I'm reading the Effortless Hoodie might run tight in the arms. Mine will be here tomorrow afternoon so I will post my fit review as soon as I get it.

LuluAddict said...

Thanks, Anon. It has to be an error -the Canadian side is $99. I have the Potion define so don't need the Potion. Although, would jump at it, if cheaper. ;-)

ojodeazul said...

Thanks, Anon. That was the new define I wanted (I too have the potion, savage green, so don't really need the lolo, but love the contract. My store only had two left a 2 and a 12..So I am happy to jump on this for even 20 off..Thanks again. I also noticed the neck warmer was up so I snagged that as well.

Anonymous said...

Yes... I just bought the lolo stride, or I would jump on that lolo define. It is super cute though!!

ojodeazul said...

I feel like lolo must be my lucky color as I got one of the $29 lol scuba hoodies too

Thanks Girls! I just got my lolo define for $79. Thanks for pointing it out. I've been in love with it since I saw the pics. Now I really love it.

Does the Define fit TTS? I wear pretty much the same size in all Lulu but I size down for the Stride. I have the Mynah jacket and Flashback jacket in my normal size, Mynah is a bit boxy, but I like the Flashback in this size. All my bras and tanks are normal size, and I occasionally size down for pants / crops. Thanks in advance for your help...I've never tried a Define on before.

ojodeazu said...

Anon: I stay true to size (6) in the define, flashback, half moon, coverups and go down (4) in the stride. I am a 32DD

jenn said...

I have one define. I got it on sale a while back. It's an 8 and fits although I wear mostly 6's and sometimes 4's in CRBs. I ordered this define in a 6. The 8 is OK, but it is a little roomy. Fingers crossed I like the 6!!

thanks ojodeazul and jenn...i'm excited! One more question for all of you experts: do you find that "staples" such as defines, strides, crbs, groove pants, wunder under crops, scubas don't really go on sale? I recently bought my first wunder unders (lolo / black reversible) a few crbs, and the free to be bra full price b/c I was worried they would sell out before going in loot and i like the colors. I'm feeling quite guilty though for spending so much (particularly because I just bought a ton of loot stuff at the beginning of july). I'm a 4 (if it matters). Just wanted your opinions...thanks!!

Zanna said...

Anon 5:15 pm. Yes its true, the core items you mentioned, they don't go on sale. Unless its an unpopular color or the item has some flaw.

I ran to Lululemon on my luch break today after seeing the Effortless hoodie on the website. I live in BC and even though the lolo purple heather wasn't on the site it was in the stores. I was so unimpressed!! Even the girls in the store seemed disappointed. I didn't even bother trying it on as one of the girls said the upper arm fits tight and she had to size up (and this girl was thiiiiin!!) Instead I bought the Fast in Flight bag in the grey pattern and I am in love. Comparable cost to the hoodie, but I think I scored a better investment piece.

I don't think I have ever seen Remixes on sale at my local stores. I have found the odd Define marked down by $20 or so but only in the larger sizes or if it's the last one of a color run or a hideous color.

CRBs more often go on sale but mostly to $34 and $29. I don't think I've ever gotten one cheaper than $29 and that might be a tough to sell color like electric orange (flourescent). It's very hard to find grooves on sale but I have seen them. Again mostly in 10s and 12s or odd colors like the Ocean Blue or Gulf green. I think the lowest I've seen these is $79. It's the same for Wunder Unders. It's very hard to find black pants on sale unless they are being discontinued.
