Groove Pant Design Change - Less Flare at the Bottom & Logo Relocated?

I've been reading that the design of the Groove pant has changed to have less flare at the bottom. This was actually how they were a few years ago and then the Groove Pant Sneak was brought in where the flare was widened to fit over your shoe and then I think the larger flare was brought in as a permanent change until now. I didn't buy Grooves until recently so if I have my Groove history wrong, please correct me.

This is another reason we are noticing the new model's very muscular thighs and bum - a wider flare would balance her hips a bit more.

Older, more flared Groove style:

New, narrower flare at the bottom:

Whoa! I didn't even notice the logo has been moved to the bottom hem of the leg. I hope they reposition it for all those people who need a few inches hemmed off.

But wait! The logo is in on the normal spot on near the knee in these new Grooves:

Hmmm! What is going on with the migrating logos? Is one side behind the knee and the reverse at the hem? Weird.

I'll have to try on the new version of the Grooves. I know I don't like having all that material flapping around as I workout on the elliptical.

Years ago the logo was at the foot, this can't be an old pic can it?

i love the current placement of the logo its very flattering. and if you reverse your grooves the logo is already at the calf level..so why change it now?

I hope that they have fixed the problems on the strides. The new colors are cute, but after having returned two bum jackets, I'm not going to seriously look at these until I read some reviews.

I am hoping they don't put the logo at the hemline, as being 5' tall it would disappear with hemming. Lucy has their little orange bit too close to the hem for me to get the benefit of having it.

I wish they would put the logo down near the bottom like that - I wear Lulu pants for casual wear as well as workout wear and would rather not have a reflective logo in such an obvious place - particularly on styles that can easily double as day wear. (I don't mind the logo on things like running crops.)

Better yet, I wish they would just put the logo on the waistband instead of on the leg. Then you could easily cover it with a top, but it won't be lost entirely for those of us who need hemming.

maybe the changing position of the logo is just the result of random confusion in the chinese sweatshops where workers are cranking these out, ironing logos on 24 hrs a day...... I could see that happening, right???

I am actually really happy to see a figure with hockey-type thighs for once. It sucks always looking at stick-thin, not all that muscular models. Aren't these clothes for athletes, anyway?

Exactly...these clothes are for athletes.....there was a whole contro on FB that these clothes were equally suited for clubbing and 4 inch heels - lulu party-ica? I really don't think thats the target market.....

i think these thighs look like men are wearing the pants...

As a guy who loves wearing groove pants, I fully support this!

Looks like they were a tall version groove and they had been hemmed for the model. Because it would make perfect sense on the location.

We all know how sloppy lulu is with their product photos.

I love all the muscle hating going on here. Clearly, my legs, very similar to these, now mark me as a man. Great to know. Thanks for the love.

If you get pants or a tank hemmed and the logo is removed by the hemming the Lulu seamstress will put a new one on.

I think the main problem is the pants are to tight on her -- if you can see VPL in the front -- size up -- not mean -- just saying! She obviously is in great shape --shes just wearing the wrong size

I think that people are just too used to seeing airbrushed pics everywhere. This model looks great, toned, and obvs in shape. Most people who are complaining probably don't even look this good wearing Lulu. I think because Lulu keeps the photos pretty much intact, things like butt, toes, elbows, and whatnot are more obvs.

So, in an effort to prove to myself that the Grooves really are redesigned, I started putting all my Grooves on my bed and placing my newest "remodeled" pair over them. I don't notice a difference. They line up EXACTLY. Even my Grooves from Feb. are the same. Today I'll pull out some older pairs I don't wear as much from way back when and I'll check those out. Shouldn't the same Groove pant in the same size line up differently if they have restructured them? Hmmm...

My thighs are muscular and look like this models ....I am also sad to think some folks think this makes me look like a man.....I workout, lots of cardio, thats what happens, I am still a really girly girl.....

I think momof5 is right...these are 1 size too small. I have a similar situation...when I try on a size smaller than what I currently wear they are tight to the knee. At the size I like and wear there is a bit more drape/hang above the knee.

The smaller size actually makes me look chunkier than I am because it is way too form fitting. I am small, muscular and definitely not skinny. Would love to see this gal in 1 size up...I bet she would look just as fabulous as I do ;)

@ anon 10:52 - Do you have Grooves from 3-4 years ago? I thought that was when the "sneaker" version came out and made them flare more at the bottom. Then again I never bought a pair of Grooves until the last year or so. If your newest ones line up with an older pair that would be very interesting.
