New Jacket - Pinnacle Jacket

A new jacket, the Pinnacle, from Lululemon. A little faux fur around the hood would glam this up a bit. Rumor is the price is close to $300.

The Flow and Go Tank has started to hit the US. There is a picture of the Citron in the University Village FB page.

OMG, that coat looks exactly like one that I had when I was in 5th grade, about 30 yrs ago....I HATED it then, and it's STILL ugly now!!!

I don't think it's too butch besides being in ivy/army green. If you made this in Senorita Pink it would not be butch. I think it's actually more fitted and feminine than many of their shapeless coats. I agree that a fur lined hood would glam it up a bit.

Do not want.

Meh. Don't hate, don't love.

They are trying to stay on trend with the military style (epaulets on the shoulders ect...). I still hate the buckle as it reminds me of an airplane lap belt . I would never pay almost $300 from a coat from Lulu (Patagonia, yes-they have an "iron clad" guarantee where you don't have to be interrogated by an employee to get your $$ back if there is a problem).

I'm with houndlvr on the price point of this jacket.

I had a coat like this back when I was a chubby 6th grader and I was a school safety and had to fasten this chunky belt contraption over my coat -- every time i see this I am transported back to the early 80's and my old chubby self!!! Definitely will not be getting this one!!!

I agree about spending that much on this coat when Lululemon is having quality problems among so many different kinds of products. I'd rather buy North Face, Patagonia, Nils or even open up the wallet all the way and get a real status symbol, Bogner.

My winter coast from Lulu last winter is a very similar style to this less the military influence. I believe it was a little longer as well but it was/is the best winter coat I ever purchased. I absolutely love it... I believe I paid $278 for it. Got it in brown. Wouldn't hurt if this girl size up as well...or is she pregnant??

Bogner is crazy expensive, but my husband bought a sweater for me from the "Fire and Ice" line last year and the quality is super...check out some of the Bogner and other cute (but $$$) winter wear at Gorsuch.com (I drool).

I don't think she's pregnant-it's the positioning of the weird a$$ belt. If it doesn't hit you in the "right" place, it is totally unflattering!

Yes - the belt is too high - I have a very long torso so this would be even worse on me.
Trying to figure out what this coat reminds me of....maybe the horrible puffy coat from childhood....or, do Canadian postal workers not have something like this as standard issue....or is it Canadian bus drivers??? In any case, I think it is awful. And given all the quality issues with lulu lately $300 for this is insane. It it sells out fast I will be....suprised, but of course, it could happen.....you could buy a beautiful wool coat or a quality sporty technical coat from other suppliers for $300 and actually have a nice looking quality piece......

This coat is so wrong on so many levels. I bet this girl modeling the jacket is a size 6. I can see anyone over that size looking like a green ( or black ) version of a large-bummed puffy woman from the late '70's. I will not be paying 300.00$ (crazy) for this...

Thanks a lot to houndlvr67 for bringing Gorsuch.com to my attention. That is going to get me in a lot of trouble... ;-)

I have some black Bogner black stretch wool ski pants I bought back in the early 90s for $175 and I will never get rid of them. They are a size 6 but, damn it, I will get back into them! I don't care if they are out of style. ;-) (I've become the person I used to make fun of - the skier with the out of date clothes and equipment but that's what happens when you have kids and stop skiing for 12 years. I have a lot of ski wear straight out of Hot Tub Time Machine - Nevica neon stuff)

@Luluaddict- hahaha... I enjoyed Hot Tub Time Machine. I'm seeing more and more slim fitting ski pants out on the slopes the whole 1-2x I go skiing/year. And at our local ski/bike shop (i.e. by Spyder but they are suuuper expensive considering how little I ski). They look much more comfortable and flattering than the black puffy-snow pants I have where I feel a little like I'm waddling.

large-bummed puffy woman from th e70's???? yes, thats what this reminds me of!!!

Good point, think how bad this would look on someone who wasn't a slim size 6 model....

I bet the fabric has a cheap crappy feel to it to (it looks it) and that hem!!! I am sure the sleeves are tight, as that is signature lulu....don't they know we work out???

But folks will buy it....can I say "harem pants"......

RunningOnCoffee said...

haha- speaking of harem pants, i got my athleta catalog the other day and saw they have their own (less baggy) version of those fugly pants.

Wait a minute...that "belt" looks like those ugly beige straps that come with all of lulu's bags....(you know what I am talking about, those fugly beige twine straps that just don't go with a lolo or oasis bag.....)...belt looks similar....lulu must get a bulk deal in their mass producing sweatshops ....

i got this jacket in coal and it's gorgeous. I'm a size 6 in the jacket, 5'7'' and 128 lbs to give you a reference point. the jacket is around 280 bones and a good deal if you get an R&D discount and don't pay tax (my situation) which brought it to around 250 or so. It's the ultimate winter coat. The ivy sold out in record time. I bought it and then got an email from lulu almost 5 days later saying that the order was cancelled because it was out of stock (AFTER I purchased it). Still waiting to see the refund on my card. It's very frustrating that they allow you to buy it and then don't deliver after your order is placed.

Good point on the tax... I take for granted living in NJ and not paying sales tax on clothing and shoes!

Many GOOD companies will get an authorization from your card, but not actually charge until the item ships. That would be good practice!

wow, how unflattering! if I am to pay 300 dollars for a coat it better make me look like Heidi Klum
