New Lululemon Shopping Bag


A Texas store posted photos of a new Lululemon "Super Hero" shopping bag. Can't say I'm a fan. I'll take the regular one, please.

Actually, I like that bag way better than the standard red one. As much as I love Lulu's clothes, I find the "manifesto" a little creepy and preachy.

I sort of like this bag, but I'm here to gripe.


I hate it when I shop at a particular Lululemon store that shall remain nameless (Biltmore Phoenix, Arizona!!!!!!!) and I know wwwaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy more about the product than any ditzy educator in the place. These women (and men) should know all about new product that is coming out for God's sake! And they should be VERY knowledgable about product that has been out for quite some time!!! Take a look at this lovely blog once or twice a week! Geesh. They suck.

Also, as a women who is quite shy, I DO NOT want BIG BOB with muscles where his brains should be helping me in my fitting room! There's no way in hell he's going to SIZE me up.

@ Anon - I know what you mean about knowing more than the educators. Quite a few of them don't even know the name of the current colors. However, if it was also my most-likely-slightly-above-minimum wage job and not my hobby I'd probably grow to hate the clothes and the company.

Some of them have good comments. The company pays for them to take fitness classes and quite a few of the ladies spin and we talk about what we like to wear for spin. It's hard because everyone's workout clothes preferences are subjective. My sister has gotten good advice from the educators who are also runners.

I totally agree about having a man help me. I don't like men to help me with any female stuff - either at Lululemon or the makeup counter. I know I'm going against the grain, but I don't even like male stylists.

@ Kate- I'm not a manifesto fan, either - ditto for your preachy comment. I prefer the yoga poses or the goals bag with the photos.

I feel your pain, anon in AZ. We have a small store here in NJ. Asked an educator about the new dash pullover coming out and she proceeded to describe the dash LS. She also was wondering how I got the inspire jacket (dont think she knew the name of it though), because my store never got them...

to play devil's advocate, educators "don't know" about product that is coming because they are not allowed to talk about it, or admit that they know about it until it's in-store, and "officially out" in their store.

I love the bag, I got one today when I bought the Dashls, I hated the pullover it runs on the big side.

Those comments may be true- and that's cool if that's what lululemon wants to do. It's kinda weird to not acknowledge it when multiople photos have been released online though.

Apparently if the item hasn't hit a particular store, despite being available online for over a month, then it doesn't exist, either.

I bought a pair of Run: Fast Shorts online this summer; about a month or so later I wanted a second pair - and called my local store and they didn't know what shorts I was talking about. Other clothing stores might respond with "I'm sorry that's available online only" or "I can see if the lululemon in [insert nearby town] has that item available." Instead, the response is "no, I haven't heard of that before."

I think it would be wise for stores to be aware of products even if their store doesn't carry them as customers will be stopping in/calling to inquire about them.

That being said, we have heard several times on FB that educators has been telling customers what will be out in the future. Educators should know all products out in the past,present and future. No excuses, that is their job. Am sure most people on FB who are customers knows almost all the pass and current products and they don't even work at Lulu.

I would love to see older educators on the floor. I'm a fit yoga/pilates/gym rat, workout 5 days per week, and I hate getting the occasional brush off from sales staff that are half my age. I spend a couple hundred dollars a month on Lulu mostly online because I'm not comfortable at my local Lulu store. Sometimes I feel invisible when they're running around helping their friends or chatting with co-workers. I think an educator should be hired based on their commitment to customer service, active wear fashion knowledge, and love for the Lulu line. I used this blog to get accurate information when an educator told me there was no difference between a Still and Be Still pant and that didn't sound right to me.

It seems really weird to have a policy of not allowing staff to talk about an item unless it's physically in the store. When I've asked about an item I've seen on FB or on the website and they don't know anything about it, I just thought the workers weren't as into Lulu as I was and I always thought that was strange.
