OT: Icebreaker Coupon Code for 30% Off (US Only)

For those of you who'd like to try Merino Wool active wear, Icebreaker is giving 30% off today for all black items. The coupon code is BLACK10. It looks like shipping is free, too. The only downside is that they don't ship outside the US. From all I can find on the web, Icebreaker is a highly-reviewed brand.

Any feedback on the balance pullover? I have mine and really like the fit and style of it. I don't have other wool tech gear to compare it to but I think I'll keep it and use it this winter for running and snowshoeing, etc. I wish this was for Canada, I'd consider getting one from Icebreaker.

Icebreaker is wonderful. They're based out of Australia/NZ and I discovered them in 2007 while in Ontario visiting with my sister. Their merino baselayers are soft and machine washable, and they have beautiful colours available. They also make some lovely winter coats (merino wool as well) and their prices are very reasonable. It doesn't get very cold here on the West Coast but my sister lives in her Icebreakers during the East Coast Winter. I like wearing Icebreaker when snowboarding and it's classy enough for apres-ski. It's not as readily available on the West Coast (for obvious reasons) but I've found good prices for it in eBay sellers' stores (check eBay Australia, the shipping isn't too horrendous, but this was when the AUD was much lower than CAD), and have had good luck buying it locally and finding it on promotion.

oh, regarding the Balance pullovers - I found them scratchy, altho maybe after a wash the 'scratchy feeling' will go away? It could be just a fabric treatment (chemicals that will wash out) but I'm not willing to take the risk of washing it just to be stuck with a scratchy non-refundable piece.
in terms of fit, it was TTS, but I also tried on the Balance Pullover (with zipper and hood) and comparatively it is more spacious in the bust area. Perhaps it was sized generously in the chest because they wanted all women to be able to wear it over top other items without overstretching the wool fibres (and causing fatigue in the lycra?). I saw a lady try on a sz4 (and she looked to be a 32F, maybe bustier) and she 'filled' out the top great.
but this isn't a 'strapless' dress.. why would you need to 'fill out' a pullover?
those are just my thoughts, haha

thanks for the info ladies on the balance pullovers. i was thinking of buying one (i think they will sell fast) but am not to sure now. as you said anon 10:33pm once you wash it...will i be stuck with a piece that i never wear because it makes me itchy? i know it is kind of pricey...how much was it again? $128? i have the fleecy pullover from last yr and it is so soft warm and comfy. that was worth every penny as i live in it all winter and cool spring nights.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not sure what to do. It's a mid layer, so I think if you layer under it, you won't have any trouble with itchiness. It's $128 but that would be worth it if I could wear it all winter long and the fabric held up. I'm tempted to try the icebreaker., though. I saw a few on ebay for a decent price - compared to the balance pullover, anyway. I'm hoping for more reviews on the balance pullover soon, seems like no one is saying much about them.
