Recalled Shoppers - How Many Do You Have? Will You Get A Replacement?

Lululemon says they will replace your recalled shopping tote with another one. I just took inventory on my bag collection (I keep every one) and have far fewer recalled bags than I thought I would. I have five messenger style totes (two big, three small), one large tote, and eight small totes. Will they really give me a replacement bag for fourteen bags? I really don't care about the small bags because I have tons of those but the larger bags come in handy and I use them all the time. Will I get a big tote for a messenger bag? Let me know if you go to the store to get replacements. I don't think I will be going for a few days yet but you never know.

Since the risks with these bags are environmental (i.e. when you go to dispose of them) and not health risks to the individuals using the bag, I don't feel any need to bother trading mine in. If I decide to get rid of the bags, I'll drop them at Lulu for proper disposal. Until then, I just won't plan to eat any them. :)

I will be returning mine, as I would think it would be easier for Lululemon to dispose of them altogether, rather than for them to be trickling in over the years.

I don't care about my smaller shoppers, but would like to get the larger ones replaces as I use those ones a lot. I am not sure how many I have, but I would say probably only about 5 or so.

Theres one that says they were only released in the states and im sure i have a few of them maybe they are from previous years though. I have tons of shoppers and i dont think i will be looking for replacements but might take them into dispose of them if i have the time. Im no to concerned about it i only really use them for shoes and to take books back and forth to the library

@ChiRunner, the risks and concerns are both environmental and health related (quoted from The Huffington Post):
"The Tribune found that lead appears to be in a form that's not easily extracted or "leached" out. But over time, lab experts note, the bags wear down and paint can flake off.... Lead is considered a toxin and can cause learning disabilities in children and fertility problems in adults."

I don't know if this is information that you'd be interested in?

I only have a couple, but I think I will replace them the next time I go into a store. It's not a big hassle for me, and I have two young children who handle these all the time (and I use them for a diaper bag in a pinch.) I'm not usually over-protective in what they handle but if it's easy for me to do the switch, then why not? Might as well since I'm in there all the time anyway.

@jpalmac - Thanks for the info - that's good to know. Still doubt I'll be bothering to exchange any bags I have, but I might sort out the bad ones and drop them off at Lulu. I can see how it might be a concern for those with children around.

I have MANY bags (no idea but I'd guess 30+) and since I'm in Canada and have really only been buying for a year, I think most if not all are these ones. I actually use them for everything and also keep some spare ones in the car as emergency grocery bags.
Will bring them in to swap in stages maybe b/c I could scare my local store (and yes, they do recognize me when I come in) :)

only the bags with snap closure are affected, correct?

I have a number of these bags sitting in my closet unused; I will bring them in for proper disposal. I rarely use these except to put shoes in. This solves my problem with the clutter in my closet. ;) I will bring them in after the holiday season; Lulu is a madhouse this time of year around here.

OT: Apparently the Prime Minister of Canada is also a fan of Lulu. He visited the store in my favourite mall yesterday.

Yay, I'll just bring my bags in for disposal. I actually don't like them, and when I shop in person, I bring a reusable chicobag with me so I don't receive a shopper. What really, really peeves me is shopping on the website. I ALWAYS uncheck the "bag me" box so I don't get a bag, and they send it anyway!!! The last five orders. Basically there is no meaningful way of me trying to cut down on waste and clutter. Oh, and I hate how my tanks don't come with cups (to cut down on waste!) but I always get the shopping tote I specifically requested not to have. They need a better system in place.

@Neph... I keep track of my order numbers and then email the GEC requesting cups to accommodate what I've ordered. But yes, they send the bags anyway... and it would be nice if they had a check box for cups. Perhaps they don't specifically because the box doesn't work and they'd always end up sending them???

I've got to call the GEC for a label so I can send my bags back... Now what will I use for carrying my sneakers and a towel to the gym?

Kate: Did he go to Rideau? The stock was really low yesterday, and the store was a zoo!

I'm not worried about the health risk and would continue using them, but as Lululemon would dispose of them properly in lieu of environmental concerns, I will return them to the store.
