Orange County Lululemon Addicts - New Store Coming to South Coast Plaza!!!

OMG, OMG, OMG! There is going to be a new Lululemon store in Orange County at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa! I'm so excited! However, that puts three stores in a very tight area. Is one of the others going to close? If one did, I bet the Irvine one. Three stores, three different markdown racks. Whoo-whee!

I dunno. Can you tell from the photo what part of the mall? If I can't find it via google, maybe I'll take a trip there to scout it out. My source says it's opening soon.

I'm surprised that they didn't put a store in the Shoppes at Mission Viejo Mall and spread them out more. That's an upscale mall, too.

OMG, live in NY on Long Island but from OC. I need to drive 40 miles in either direction to get to a Lulu. One more reason I love shopping in OC every time I go back.

@LuluAddict - I bet they'll keep all three stores open. Two of the stores in Chicago are literally one block away from each other (one is in an indoor mall and the other is one the street one block west). I thought for sure when they opened the larger on on the street they would close the smaller mall one, but it's been maybe two years and both are still open.

In Los Angeles, the Santa Monica store is only seven miles away from Beverly Hills. The Brentwood store is sandwiched in between the two. All three seem to peacefully coexist so I'd imagine it would be in the same in the OC.

In LA we have Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Calabasas, Sherman Oaks, Pasadena, and Glendale all are within 20 miles of each other and happily coexist. I could go to each of them in one day, it would take up much of the day to do it, but it is possible. I think there's also a showroom in Hollywood somewhere. That area of the OC has a lot of money and there is no reason that one store wouldn't do well with another one so close by.

Wow! You are so lucky.

I agree. I don't think any of the existing ones are closing as lulu is selling very well here, even at the strategic partners. I've been thinking they're adding a lulu to SCP for a while now as it would be a natural fit with the demographics. I didn't think they would move into Mission Viejo mall as there's a Lucy there right now.

I can't wait until this opens! SCP is like my second home.

OMG - doing the happy dance! Cannot wait for a new lulu at SCP...my lunch hours will never be the same. ;-)

That looks like Crystal Court side to me. I can't think of anywhere in the main mall that has that much retail space open.

Just found this article - this will work because I can bribe my kids into letting mommy shop at Lululemon by stopping into the Lego store. ;-) WTG, South Coast Plaza!

BTW, excited about the new Madewell store too!

So jealous! :D I wish they come to EU too :D but honestly I wouldn't go to shop there, just to observe :D everything here is about 40% more expensive then in US :(

I think lululemon should start selling the manifesto as wallpaper... just a thought :)

The CLE showroom is moving for the 2nd time in one year - to a much bigger and better spot in the current shopping complex they are already in. The company surely has the cash to drop to do rehauls on two expensive retail areas within a short span of time...

You are so lucky! We have only one Lululemon that serves 4 provinces here on the East Coast! I am fortunate that it is only an hours drive away for me, for many others they have to travel from one province to the other to get there!

@Alicia at Poise: lol I would definitelly put the Manifesto all over my room! :) For now I just have a small A2 poster of it :D

OMG! I am so excited! Thank you for making my Sunday morning Lulu Addict! :)

I will be at Fashion Island this morning so I will see if the girls will give me some inside info about the location in SCP, ETA and if there are rumors of Irvine closing. I know it's not Newport closing because they are remodeling that store soon.

Was reading through the reviews on the Savasana Wrap, and a reviewer mentioned how great it would be if Lulu started a Denim/Jeans Line - she said "Stretchy, comfy, Stylish!!"! Whoa whoa, Lululemon is an athletic line!!! LOL. No jeans!!!

OT -- so bummed -- My husbands elevation jacket that he got for Christmas is pilling under the arms and sleeves and by the front pockets -- the filling is coming out like a cheap pillow -- this is just inexcusable for a $300 winter coat (granted I grabbed it for 99, but still) -- anyone else have any issues with theirs -- It isnt even a month old --- He loves it - but the quality SUCKS!

@momof5- I grabbed the elevation jacket for my Dad and my brother for Christmas (@ the $99 price) and my Dad's is pilling under the arm too! I'm not sure about my brother. I'll call him today and ask. I was shocked too. I've never seen a winter jacket pill!

Ok, here is the inside scoop about the NEW store at South Coast Plaza: It is in Crystal Court next to the Apple store and it will be opening in the spring time - around the beginning of April. They will definitely NOT be closing the Newport or the Irvine store. It will be around the same size as the Fashion Island store and the same classification so they will be stocking the same products.

Geez.. I'd take one single little showroom in my area! The closest to where I live is at least a two hour drive :(

this isn't about the new store opening in the area, but just though i'd share that Jane Fonda's wearing Lulu on the cover of this Sunday's USA Weekend insert! how cool!

So excited it's in the Crystal Court side. I can go to Crate and Barrell and Pottery Barn, too. I hope the new Lego store goes there, too, so I cam bribe my kids to shop. Thank you for getting the inside scoop, Christie!

I know LA has a bunch of stores "close" together geographically but the traffic is a nightmare except for weekends. It's not really that comparable to the OC cluster of stores. I think there is enough $$$ in the area to support three stores. I spoke to an educator who works at the Irvine store today and she said they are not closing.

The Newport store was remodeled at the end of November.

I don't think 3 stores in that close proximity should be a problem. There's a Nordstrom at all three locations and it seems to work ok...
