Today's Shopping Trip - Markdown Report

Today I was able to visit the El Segundo/South Bay store. The store didn't have anything new I didn't see yesterday but they had some nice things on markdown. They had Ta Ta Tamers in Teal Zeal and Senorita Pink marked down to $44. They also had them up to size 38DD which is the first time I've seen that size in a store and been able to try it on. I've always had to try on the 36DD and it never worked for me. The 38DD was much better. I might have gotten the Teal Zeal one but I don't have any tanks in that color so I can't really use it. I also could really probably use a 38E in the Ta Ta Tamer. The DD cups just aren't big enough but I could probably get buy if it comes out in a color I need/like. The store also had The Bust Stops Here on sale for $44, just like the website, and they had black up to a 38DD in that size, too. I might have bought that bra any other time but I think I might want to get the Aruba No Limits tank so I decided I can live without it. I wonder if the El Segundo store regularly gets the 38DD bras or someone just returned a bunch. That size is always sold out on line.

The store also had brushed luon Wish Poncho Strides on markdown from $118 to $99. I really thought about getting this jacket because I have four tops in Wish/Static Wish/Multi Stripe Poncho.  I need to have three to four coordinating tanks before I commit to a jacket in a non-neutral color. However, I noticed a loose thread at the shoulder and the last time I bought an item with threads already unraveling (Zoom Knee Short), I had to take it into get fixed. It wouldn't be so bad if it was a hem but the shoulder is a visible area for a repair. All the issues people have had with their Stride Jackets make me extra cautious about getting one. If they had another in my size I probably would have gotten it but they didn't and I'll just have to wait until Wish makes another appearance or I find a jacket on eBay. I would have loved a Wish Define with the Multi Poncho Stripe in the logo area.

The store also had Sailor Stripe Strides also marked down from $108 to $99. That's not much of a sale but I am conditioned to respond to the purple sale sticker. I like the Sailor print but I need a bit more off to get this jacket.

There were other items on the racks and if you live in the area you might want to stop in and see what is on sale.

Interesting markdowns. At my store, the Gym Essentials Kit was finally on sale! I would have bought one if they didn't all have some kind of minor defect (I am VERY picky, especially about final sale items). I am going to check one of the other stores in my city and hopefully get one. It was priced at $39.

Interesting, my local Lulu had that marked down from since before Christmas. It wasn't even a "sale" price, but a lowered price. Interesting how the stores are so inconsistent.

I am a 34DD and I see 38DD on occasion in all the Lulu stores I frequent in LA (Santa Monica, Brentwood, and Beverly Hills). It does sell out though.

I noticed on the website that when you can sort by size, only 2-10 are available.

They must have changed it, it was that way yesterday, going back today 2-12

My stores have very little markdowns they sell out before they go on sale.

When I tried on the Concord Grape In Stride the zipper jammed in 3 places, so the problems have not been resolved with the Stride, why don't they use a bigger zipper like they do on the Defines?

Did you try on the sailor stripe stride? It's one of those items that look just ok on the hanger but freakin awesome on you. Subtracts 15 lbs from my muffin top instantly. I get 1,000 compliments every time.

At my store, the Sailor Stripe Defines were repriced from $108 to 99; not final sale. Right around Christmas, a day or so after I think.

I wish Lululemon would sell a wider range of sized in sports bras. Being a 30FF, I find it very hard to find cute sports bras for yoga. If they carries some in my size, I would wear the cute tops with the racerback :(

@ anon 5:51 am - The zipper is one of the reasons I really don't care for the Stride that much. My Defines, Gather Together, and Wear With All jackets have the big zipper and I think it adds a nice decorative touch to the jackets. I only considered the Wish and Sailor Stripes because the patterns were pretty.

You guys are right, the Sailor Stripe was repriced to $99. I swear there was a purple markdown sticker on it at the South Bay store, though.

@ anon 3:32 am - That is good to know that the stores get the 38DD because I never see that size in the Newport and Irvine stores. Either they don't get them or they sell out really fast.

@ Glow - The Gym Essentials kit was marked down to $39 at the Newport Store. I think the price is still too high for what it is. The Newport store had a ton of them.

@ Canadian Eh - The Sailor Stride is super pretty but I just bought the Ikat Define and so don't need another black and white themed jacket (for now, anyway ;-) ).

The Ta-Ta Tamer really freaks me out. Couldn't they make the cups just a little less Madonna and a little more boob-shaped?!

I have the wish blue multi poncho stripe Stride and I just love it! The blue is so pretty, and I can wear so many colours under it thanks to the multi stripe. I sold my power purple/microstripe stride to buy it since I felt very limited to white or purple under that stride.

@ anon 10:47 am - I agree with you about the shape of the cups in the Ta Ta Tamer. It seems to squish my boobs down horizontally. I much prefer my Champion Powerback and Donna Karan sports bras.

The gym essentials kit wasn't marked down at my store as of Thursday but they had moved them over to where some of the marked down items were. I asked if they were going to be marked down soon and they said probably not because they were selling so good. They weren't selling that great because they've them for quite awhile. I had bought one then returned it because I just couldn't justify $49 for it. I don't think I can justify $39 for it either (I couldn't get a new CRB instead). I might buy it for $29 and be happy with that.
