Today's Upload - Lots of Goodies (And a Mini Rant About Failing Quality) (Updated)

The upload is still happening but I ordered the Aruba Brisk Run Ear Warmer for myself. It's so cute, how could I resist?

The Rubber Ducky Push UR Limits just showed up so I ordered that, too. This upload is taking a while but all the new stuff we've seen on Facebook and in the product alerts is showing up now. Must be the new colors are coming next week.

The Aruba and Ikat No Limits tanks showed up and the black was restocked. The Canadian side got these, too. I bought the Aruba last week and thought it ran stretchier than the Coal one. That doesn't mean you can size down necessarily but if you are a size 12 in Flow Y you might want to try the size 10 Aruba No Limit because it might work for you. I don't think I will get the Ikat No Limit at this time. I am going to wait until a second release of No Limit tanks and hope for a solid one in Sprinkler Blue or maybe Flush pink.

The Ikat CRB also showed up. I really like this tank and don't have a problem with it being made of mostly polyester. It looks very cute peeking out from under a black top.

The Black Run: Distance Pullover in black showed up. I know the cold weather people will be glad to see this top. I like the restrained design.

The Ikat Willpower Pullover showed up. I really liked this when I tried it on. I don't really have a need for this in the warmer SoCal climate so can't justify paying $118 but if it goes on markdown I will consider it.

The Raw Blue Studio pants also showed up.  Just an FYI - the woman who writes the Lulumum blog posted a photo on Facebook of her brand new Raw Blue Studio pants unraveling:

She's only had these a week so there is no way it's due to wear and tear. The problem with failing quality seems to be getting worse not better. Last week they recalled the Concord Grape Distance Pullover and the week before they recalled the Purple Crush Speed Up Tanks for quality issues. Lululemon really needs to address these quality problems. They are getting very well known here in the US but when people plunk down $98 + tax for clothes they expect them to hold up. You may fool them once but you won't fool people twice. Lululemon built its reputation on quality and durability but the current management is squandering it away. It's incredibly disappointing. Unlike a lot of people, I'm not going to blame this on outsourcing. I have a lot of Lululemon items that are made in China or other countries from a couple of years ago that are well made but the newest batch of vendors is not up to par. Lululemon needs to hire some more QA people to keep on top of these vendors and bring the manufacturing standards back up to where they used to be. There is no excuse for this at all. I expect stuff like this to happen from junk I've bought at Walmart, not Lululemon. If you've had a problem with something you've bought, I urge you to complain to Lululemon long and hard. That is the only way things will change.

Lots of other goodies were uploaded - gray pique and reversible Wunder Under pants, the Endeavor Duffle, and lots more. What did you all order today?

The white/grey pique scoop neck and the aruba earwarmers. I was hoping for new Cabins and/or the white distance pullover. oh, well at least my cc is safe.

They are dragging out the upload and I need to go to the gym. The Rubber Ducky Push showed up now. I think I am going to order it.

I ordered WAY too much today...my wallet is hurting. I even made 2 separate orders due to me rushing and not waiting for the full upload! I bought 3 push ur limit tanks...solid black, aruba, black with microstripe (one of the black tanks will be going back for sure!), ikat speed shorts and ikat NLT. Eek!!!

Anonymous said...

i only saw the black/micro push in size 6 . were there other sizes?

The newest batch of No Limit tanks is NOT of the same top quality as my No Limit 2010... the front chest neckline keep falling lower and lower...

I bought the Distance Pullover in store yesterday - still bummed about the quality issues on the Concord Grape version though, because I really wanted the purple. An educator told me that the circle mesh on the purple would practically fall apart when you just ran your hand over it.

And for anyone considering buying the Distance Pullover online who doesn't have access to a store - I found it to run pretty narrow in the shoulders (and I have pretty narrow shoulders - the Inspire Jacket was perfect for me in the shoulder area). Because the fabric is thicker, there is not as much stretch to it as in the other running pullovers and when I had it zipped up all the way you could see it pulling in the shoulder area in the front. I ended up going with one size up - which fit a little looser in the torso than I liked, but fit perfect in the shoulders.

FYI - I was in my local store last week and looked at the RunDistance Pullover. It has the same back-pockect zipper/fabric hanging quality issue that the first batch of Inspire pullovers have. Where, there's just extra fabric from the back pocket hanging and the zipper seam scratches your back. If you wear a shirt underneath it's not a problem, but it you were planning on wearing alone, be aware.

I am still undecided, but I think I'm getting the aruba earwarmers and aruba push.

I ordered the aruba and black no limits. I'm not sure if I'll keep both, but I do want one.

@ anon 8:46 am - I bought the black microstripe push and love it. The stripes give it a little something extra. I wish they'd make more black push tanks with colored stripes. I just bought the rubber ducky push now. I made two separate orders, too. I didn't think the push would show up so late.

@ anon 8:48 am - The black / microstripe push is in 6 & 10 on the US side and 4/6/8 on the canadian.

@ ChiRunner - Thanks for the fit review on the Distance Pullover. I don't think the "warmer" stores are getting this top so I can't try it on.

@ anon 8:49 - What color No Limit did you buy? The Aruba one seems very stretchy compared to the other colors so I can see that one dipping lower. I've found that sometimes the lighter colors seem to stretch more for some reason.

i bought the ikat NL. i am waiting for more sizes in the US black/micro push. :(

I have both the aruba and white No Limit at home and am undecided. I can only justify keeping one and these were my 2 fav colours. I take a size 8 but the aruba one doesn't feel supportive enough, as much as I love the colour. The pique bra of the white one supports me well and I love white in the summer. Think I'll have to keep that one!

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 9:07 - the Aruba one is looser fitting so you might have to size down in it. I was able to go a size smaller in the Aruba but not the Coal/purple crush. I didn't get a chance to try the white one on but I always get white tops dirty so I won't buy white tops.

I got the Aruba ear warmer and toque, but probably one will be returned.

I need to go to a store soon and re-try on the Push. I tried it on once and recall feeling like it made me look very broad in the chest but I should give it another shot.

beachy green CRB. that's all for me today. :)

Thanks for the tip about sizing down in the Aruba No Limit - ordered my usual size 10 and an 8, just in case! I also ordered the pique black wunder under crops - I sized down in those too since my usual wonder unders tend to slide down a bit and I know the pique is stretchy. Hope they work for me!

I got all I wanted on this upload. Lots of Aruba goodies. Push Ur Limit in Aruba, Scoop Neck Tank in Aruba/Black, I got last week the white NLT, but today I passed the NLT in Aruba as I find it too baggy. What more, Beachy Green CRB, Speed short in Aruba/Beach Green and the resolution skirt in white and in Aruba/Black. My CC is crying so much right now, but I'm happy!

The resolution skirt was upload so late that I almost placed my order before it show up! I'm happy I waited a couple of minutes!

I will need other colors then Aruba next week lol!

I got the Ikat CRB, and the Static Purple Crush Scoop neck. I love the scoopnecks and that color is so pretty! I'm tempted by the Pique Wunder Unders...but I already have the Pique Energize pants (the skinny ones) so I probably don't need another pair...though they are my favorite leggings...argg...I love everything!

If they need a quality person at the various factories in these countries, it is an outsourcing problem, IMO.

I received my aruba & coal/pc NLT yesterday in a size 6 and laying each of them over my black NLT from last year in an 8 I find that there isn't a huge difference in size... I actually had wanted one that was a little snug (leaving room for additional weight loss), but am undecided on what to do? The coal/pc is gone now so I don't know if I should just keep or return it? And I don't know if I should try ordering a 4 in aruba, but I'm DEFINITELY NOT a size 4 (I'm 5'3" and 145lbs, 35-29-36 1/2). I'm mostly in size 8's still but have a few 6 tanks like commit, dash and CRB that fit me currently (pending it's not a 'fat' day).
I just measured myself under my bust where the Flow Y bra band would be and I'm 31"... laying flat and unstretched, the size 6's measure 13 1/2" across the band of the Flow Y and on the size 8 it's 13 3/4"... Anybody out there know what the size 4 measures on the Flow Y band of the NLT?
THANKS!

I ordered the coal ear warmer and the ikat/black nlt. So excited to get both items. I feel like i am done ordering long pants for now and am waiting for more excitig crops/shorts/skirts to come out.

I have the black and Aruba NLTs and I did try on the white in store. I didn't like the white at all bc it was sheer and I could see my skin and my belly button, if that makes sense. Further, because of that, you could see the outline of my body more clearly which made the top less flattering. I think when the body is less defined underneath the top, then it looks like you could be skinnier underneath. White lulu in general has been very challenging for me to keep bright and clean so I've been getting rid of my whites on the exchange or relegating them to camisole category, depending on the top.

I bought the same size in the Aruba as the black but I think the Aruba is slightly larger, though not enough for me to size down. When I sized down, my armpit fat spilled over and it was definitely not flattering.

I didn't buy much today, I was kind of disappointed to be honest! I really wanted the No Limit in either coal/ ppl crush or white/ pique, but Canada seems to have been left out of those completely! I wonder if it was an error? I like the colour contrast of the 2 colours in the No Limit, but I thought the iKat was a little much- I'm not really loving the ikat pattern so much. I can't justify the price tag on that tank if it's not exactly what I want, so I ended up passing and bought only the earwarmers in coal strata (they will match everything!) and the new hair ties (here's hoping they're better than the last lot...)

I hope you're right LuluAddict and they come out with the No Limits in some more colour combos- I still really want one, but not in the colours available in Canada.

The surprise item I was tempted by today is the Purple Crush hustle tank- it's adorable! Still debating it..

Ordered earwarmers, so cute. Had seen last week on your blog, called GEC was told sooo sorry, all out noway to get and had started searching Ebay. So glad I didn't order for $30. Am I the only person bothered by their poor grasp of inventory and the inability ot get to you if at a store someplace else. This is so old school. Lets get with the online order program!

I'm again disappointed in the offerings for the men!

Still waiting for those Up Dawg atrocities to go away in favour of a new Down Dawg.

@JPalmac - I usually wear a 6 in all tanks and have 6's from the last batch of No Limit Tanks. The 6 was too baggy in the body in the Aruba, so I was able to size down to a 4 in that color. I tried the 4 in the black and it is tighter in the straps.

Here are the size 4 measurements:
Aruba - 12 5/8"
Black - 12 3/8"

I measured my passion and black one from the previous releases in size 6 and they are 13". I hope this help you make your decision.

Given that this is a popular blog, I hope that your opinion carries some clout Luluaddict. I ALWAYS consult the blogs before buying pieces. I willing drop the cash for an item, but I want to LOVE it. Recently, I've had a few disappointments. I would assume Lulu reads this blog: "Please please please keep producing products that are worth the large bill! You have a loyal customer base, but people eventually get disillusioned."

Was anyone able to order the LG pique WU's in a size 10 today? I went online at 8.35am PST and every time I clicked on the size 10 to add to my cart I got an error message telling me to select a size. I have a hard time believing that the size 10 sold out in a matter of minutes? Now the 10 says sold out... Hoping they will upload more at some point.

I picked up both colors of ear warmers because I couldn't decide on one! I love the aruba color but I didn't love the NLT in Aruba against my skintone - maybe I will love it in my dark brown hair.

I have a black NLT and the coal/crush NLT and I'm pondering returning the coal/crush. For the $$ I want something I will wear outside of the gym, and maybe I will put that $$ towards and in stride jacket? I dunno.

I am on the fence about several recent purchases, haven't decided whether to keep or return:
Black Movement Jacket- cute, sorta comfy but nothing amazing - is it worth $98?
White Distance Pullover- fits nicely and looks good on me - but $118 really??? Where is the extra $20 in the product compared with many of their pullovers? It is very fitted. Would I rather get a brushed define - cheaper, zip up?
Run: Speed Short (Ikat waistband/Black, Coal/Purple Crush) -- cute colors/style, but booo on the fit on most of their shorts - leg opening too wide, doesn't make rear look good due to poor fit. I generally buy the skirts - but I'm not overly impressed with the fit on these either- often too tight in hips/waist, and I dont love the material on them.

Now that many of you have pointed out quality issues even in the luon - I too have looked at my luon pants/crops and do notice a difference between the quality/thickness of some of them. Very disappointing.
I think Lulu has decreased the quality and increased the price because "they can" - they know people love Lulu and are often willing to pay extra and sacrifice some quality because they love the brand so much. I suppose besides everyone giving feedback, the best way to send a message to them is to quit buying the product.
I'm not sure if I'm to that point yet, but I'm definitely going to start being more selective about how much and which products I buy.

@ anon 9:41 pm - The Movement jacket was cute and lightweight but not worth $98 to me. If you don't love it, then return it. There will be more lightweight french terry jackets to come. To me, the Distance Pullover is probably the best looking pullover to come out this winter. If you have a need for a mid weight pullover like this and it fits you then I say keep it. My rule of thumb has always been if don't want to tear the tags off and wear it right away then return it because something you like better will come along.

@ Michelle Q - I think I've heard there will be a second color run of No Limit tanks so if you don't love the Coal/Crush then return it. Or, if you are worried more aren't coming, you could hang on to it and sell it. I'm sure you'd get your money back for it.
