FYI - Another Facebook Resource for Buying/Trading Lululemon: Lululemon Trading Post

There is another Facebook site where you can buy, sell, and trade your Lululemon. It's the Lululemon Trading Post group. I belong to this and the Exchange group and they are both great resources. I haven't really used either of them much because I tend to buy new from the store but every now and then something good pops up. I bought the Long Cool Raceback from the Lab in the Camo print through the Exchange site. Between these two sites and the Lulu This Just In, there is a huge and helpful Lululemon community on Facebook for you to tap into to feed your addiction. Happy shopping!

why was the trading post started when the exchange is already so well visited/utilized?

i think the trading post site was started because some of the members were banned from the exchange or did not like the rules or something and decided to start up another selling page.

I've used both and have had pleasant experiences. Love that there is a place where I can buy older items or ones I missed in my size. Both are great communities!

The exchange is an amazing place and what they have going works for them well. The trading post was not created because members were banned. It was created so that if you had needed to recoup a cost for a specific item you are able to do so. There is absolutely no reason why the two groups can't co exist, they are both great and have great members just slightly different rules and layout in which work for each group. I think it's great that members have more buying/selling/ trading power. And you would be surprised how many people bashed the new group are actually in it selling and buying. Neither group is in it to make a profit or gain commission so I don't see why all the hostility.

This group was indeed started by a member of the old group, who was upset about not being allowed to post an item with a very high mark up. I think it was because she bought it marked up high, but this came after a wave of highly marked up items from other members so it was kind of the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak. The hostility was/is because she posted a note saying the original group had closed down (which it obviously has not) so that people would join this one. Thankfully the drama has calmed down on the Exchange page (don't know about that other group, but I'm assuming the bashing has slowed), so if it takes 2 separate groups for that to happen, well, I'm not complaining =)

the 2nd group is run by the people who didnt agree with the rules of the original group. they got upset they couldnt overprice their very used items to sell for as much/MORE than brand new tags-on items. So they broke off to start another group so they can price gouge.

Have you even been on the other group? There is no price gouging lol. And it may be ran by one member who got kicked off without being told she was being removed. ( hence why it was first stated that the other shut down) but that doesn't make it less reputable. It's the members who form a group not the admins. And I think unless your one of the admins you shouldn't be so quick to judge. I like how you state "it's ran by members who didn't agree with the rules, they got upset that they couldn't sell there VERY USED items for as much or more than retail" LOL
Did you see the items personally? You knew they were very used? As I remember reading it correctly it was stated that she paid that much and trying to recoup costs. And people are still listing worn and washed once ( or a couple times) for retail ! It's actually quite disheartening that someone posts a link on HER blog and everyone is so quick to jump on it and speak like they know the facts and they know what's going on. Really it's a second group big deal.

I'm just going to say this once and that's it, and I'm hoping this will stop any mean words that anyone may want to say. Tonya started the group, and I joined in to help her as she is a friend of mine. Whatever happened for whatever reason is between them. The exchange has wonderful admins and you don't relize how hard it can be unless your actually doing it. They have rules and regulations and it works for them, dont forget they have 5000+ members. it's a great group. The Trading post was created so that if you had purchased something elsewhere like eBay and you wanted to re coup any money you are able to do that. It's not price gouging but if it's something you "need" and are willing to pay the price there really isn't an issue. Who hasn't spent a retarded amount on eBay? I have! But I'd rather buy from sellers I know and trust and have done business with before. It's really bothering me that I log onto things and see comments made about me personally and if you don't know me or have done a transaction with me then you really shouldn't be saying anything at all nevermind posting anonymous. I am human and I do have a heart and reading comments like that are really discouraging and hurtful. And it's true, it's not the admins who make a group, it's all the members. So I don't think pushing blame on admins is the answer. We don't list peoples items for them. And maybe it will take you to purchase something for higher than retail and need to sell for you to understand but until then I'd appreciate if rude comments be left out. I also don't think it's very nice for this blog owner to have to read and deal with rude comments as well, there is really no need to create drama. If you need to speak your mind you are more than welcome to pm me directly but I'm hoping that clarified all that needed to be.

Also, I forgot to add, great find on the Long CRB! I wish the lab shipped cross country, they come up with some very interesting and innovative pieces. I've heard scuttlebutt before about them bringing one to T.O., but it's all just rumours and wishes, although if they did I would most likely shop there a ton. Until then, thank goodness for the lovely ladies willing to personal shop for us addicts

Question about the two Lulu Exchange/Trading Groups - After this post by LuluAddict, I am now a member of both Lulu Exchange and Lulu Trading Post. Is it ok if I post the same things for sale on Lulu Trading Post that I already have posted on the Lulu Exchange?

I looked through the pictures on Trading Post and I definitely see some rare things that are listed on the Exchange as well....

I feel like it would be ok to list on both sites, because you can tell who was the first to inquire about the item from the time facebook lists... but I don't want to make anyone upset!

It's great to list things on both groups. It's no different than listing something on kijiji or eBay and then a group. I have seen that alot. As long as you remember to write on both groups what's pending or sold.

I've requested to join the Exchange and no one will accept me. What gives?

I found this discussion after googling the LLL Exchange being a closed group- like Julie, I have twice applied to become a member and haven't been admitted, but I don't know why. What's up with that?
