Just Got a $10 Refund on My Silver Hot Class Tank

I just got an email that I received a $10 refund on the Silver Hot Class Tank I ordered from last week's upload. The tank was priced at $62 on the website but when I received the tank the hang tag was labeled $52. From what I read on Facebook, this sort of thing happened with a few other tops. When I called them last Friday, the educator told me that $62 was the price in the system but I think they researched various price labeling laws and were getting some feedback on Facebook so Lululemon issued refunds to everyone. (I hadn't called back yet to try again.) This makes me feel good about the company. Now, I wish they work on their quality problems and go back to the old luon recipe. All in good time, I hope.

Great news. $10 for you and goodwill for lulu. My tank arrives on Friday, I am quite curious to see what the price tag is.

I was very pleased the other day when I brought in my 2-month-old Relaxed Fit*Brushed pant that was piling like crazy (which it started to do on the first wear!). They let me exchange it for the non-brushed version, which I haven't (yet) had a problem with.

I also have a charcoal relaxed fit that hasn't had any problems - I'll never buy Brushed again!

It's good to know that they address their issues, but I'm still relatively new to Lulu, so I have no experience with so-called better luon from years past...

Glad you got your $ back, but was the price in stores $52? I think they should start a Loyalty card to track store purchases and if there is any discrepancy, Lululemon can contact anyone who purchased the item and correct it.

LA you also mention that they go back to the old luon recipe, so I will ask for your advice. Stretching after a workout at the gym and hubby tells me my pants are see thru! We both love Lulu wear so I thought he was teasing. Made him take a photo and it was true! These astro pants were from the end of last year. I have other pants from as far back as two years ago, but have never thought to do a "bend over" check. Is that something to do when buying bottoms?

I haven't gotten a credit back or email.....thanks for the heads up though so I can follow-up with them! I love the silver hot class so much better with the circle mesh to make a true black tank. Silver Luon is great also!

I had trouble returning a defective item they are becoming so defensive about their quality, I think it is time for a serious Lulu break.

Well, I don't know about US laws, but in Canada, it is an offence to sell a product at a price higher than than the lowest ticketed price. If a company does so, they are subject to enforcement action and prosecution by the Competition Bureau.

Wow, I am shocked in a good way! Lululemon almost never does anything like this...usually it would be "Too bad, so sad!"

I just got the ikat CRB in the mail the other day and it i horrible...something like 94% polyester. I felt like I was in a bad 70's video. I couldn't imagine going to the gym in it, seeing as I was practically sweating after wearing it around the house for 2 hours. It feels SO cheap!

@ Na, I have one pair of pants that have ended up being see-through: the coal half moon crops. My friend took a picture to prove it to me. I taught a yoga class at a store, and one of the educator's pants were VERY see-through. I thought that it might have been a result of the pants being running crops. They were black pants though, and I could see the pattern on her underwear in down dog. Best to do a check in the dressing room!

I noticed that my brushed groove pants were pilling like crazy and shrunk by an inche after the first wash in cold water and very low heat dry. I was able to get store credit for them. I never had this issue with my other groove pants.

Yesterday I was at my local store and a woman was trying to exchange some luon pants (no idea which) due to pilling after the first wear. The educator told her to go buy a shaver. I've never tried returning due to quality issues but that was pretty crazy - you could see the pants were brand new. Needless to say she left very unhappy and likely won't purchase again.

@ Na - I always thought the Astros felt very thin from when the first came out. I do a bend over check on everything now because the black luon (I'm hoping other colors are better) is thinner or a different weave than it used to be.

That is a bummer about the brushed pants. I felt the brushed Still pants when they were in my store and they felt very thick. I thought they might be too hot for southern California so I didn't buy them. I can get away with wearing regular Still pants nearly year round. When it's too cold, I switch to the Dance Sweatpants.

I am getting sick of some of the educators attitudes. Also, I hate the word Educator/GEC - I find it demeaning. I'd rather be a customer rather than someone that needed to be educated.

Anyway, that said - LA , I think you were too kind in your blog post. You didn't receive a "refund" - it's not like you got some bonus - they were just fixing what should have never been an issue to begin with. Why can't they get their product mgt/inventory process handled??

Do they only refund people who complain? They should automatically refund everyone who purchased online at the wrong price--they obviously have access to that information. Come on, Lululemon. I wad also overcharged on my Cabin LS, but no refund has been announced for that. :(

An salesperson/educator told me that as of next week, GEC was "going away". The products wouldn't be sold via GEC at all - they will only there for questions about the products, etc - not for looking up/tracking down items.

Funny -- i noticed my running crops looked a little see thru the other day and was totally doing a bend check -- I think my kids think I am now nuts -- i wear them to spin so at least the room is dark --

I tried the yogi pants on in store and I sized up in them and they were completely see thru.

Furthermore - I contacted the GEC on Saturday with a follow up email with pictures of my defective chai time pullover and elevation jacket and I have yet to hear back -- after sending the same message 3 times -- I am getting very aggravated as these are clearly quality issues and the EDUCATOR on the phone is the one who told me to send an email with the pictures.

ARGH!! I guess they are too busy crediting back all the hot class tanks!

My hubby also informed my my Wunder Grooves were see through yesterday. WTF? No one wants/needs to see my junk...I practically live in the black pique these days. Definitely my favorite for everything, except running!

@Megan, I completely agree with your educator comment. I would rather be a Guest, Client or Customer. I also think that most of us here are far better educated about lulu products than most Educators!

I just got off the phone with gec and they did refund me the 10 bucks for my cabin ls, but the guy was not very nice or helpful or apologetic at all! In fact offended it seemed! This is the only time GEC has been less than very nice to me anyway. I also told him about my in stride unravelling and asked him if there was anything other than exchanging that could be done like fixing it and all. He was then actually rude and said occasionally they might give me a credit but they don't fix things. When my DSP's were unravelling they tried to get me to send them to the tailor.

I don't think they made that many of the silver hot class tanks. I called the GEC and there are none in stores in the US and none at the GEC. Ugh. My only hope is that some get returned back to the website.

my cabin will get delivered today. If the hangtag price is $10 less than what I was charged I'm complaining and asking for $10 refund. They obviously have record of every single one they sent out - they should proactively be giving price adjustments, not waiting and hoping only a few who purchase will notice and ask to have it made right.

it's the rudeness that really bugs me. lululemon has a hard time standing by their product, it seems.

I remember someone saying that the Cabin LS's went up to $68, and a $68 sticker was placed over the $58price on the hangtag. So, I don't think people were overcharged!

LuluAddict, could you clear this up? i think I read it from you in one of your posts. I thought those officially went up to $68 dollars because that's what both of mine were in the store.

LuluAddict said...

@ Anon 11:36 am - I think in the case of the Cabin LS, the price did go up but some tags (that were ordered from the website) didn't get the repricing sticker so that is why some people got refunds. I saw the shirt in the store but didn't really check the tag that closely. I would think any shirts in the stores go the repricing sticker before they went on the floor.

LuluAddict said...

@ momof5 - you may have to resort to shaming them into helping you by posting your photos on their Facebook page.

The silver hot tank is still $62 on the Canadian side of the website. Are they changing the price or just fixing all the hand tags that say $52 to $62?

Sneaky!!

Regarding the cabin LS, I did check those out last week and at my local store in the US, they've been reticketed to show $68 so I'm guessing that's the price they're going to stay.

LuluAddict: Lululemon cannot keep up it the demand for their products, and they are trying to rush their products through faster, this may account for the quality decline. The brand is too popular imo it is time for a Lulu break.

You have to call to get the refund. I just called (and the minute he pulled up my order, he knew what i was referring to) and got my credit back for the cabin ls and the silver hot class tank. They were good abt it but kind of interesting that you have to be the one to call to get the adjustment.

I had to "resort to shaming them" on facebook to get Lululemon to donate yoga mats to the non profit women's residential treatment center. But it worked, I picked up the yoga mats yesterday and will do my first yoga class (with real mats, not towels) with the clients tomorrow!

The best way to get a rise out of the powers that be at Lulu seems to be posting your issues (with proof) on their main Facebook page. I have posted images of quality issues and first names of rude educators with times/locations-in both cases I got immediate attention.
Social media has become such a powerful marketing tool and the average consumer is much more savvy in this regard than they used to be. Lulu should watch their back...

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 2:09 pm - They've moved their factories to different countries, China vs. Cambodia for example and that has resulted in some of the declines. I think they've also relaxed their manufacturing standards and are using cheaper fabrics, too.

I think the second batch of Cabin long sleeves was definitely rushed. People said their rubber ducky ones were coming apart after one wash.

@ Melissa - I'm sure they are fixing the tags, not lowering the price.

It's disgusting the declining quality of Lulu!!! I'm sick of what they're doing to a formerly fabulous brand. It's not like the stock is not making enough money that they have to cheapen EVERYTHING??? I honestly don't get it. This is like grandparents building up a family fortune & the kids blowing through the money in less than a generation.

Also, I'm thoroughly tired of a certain someone on FB chiming in EVERY SINGLE TIME someone mentions that their luon is pilling, & stating that HERS has never ever pilled. Give me a break. Either Lulu gives her some secret stash of the good stuff, or her legs have 4" of space between them & never the twain shall meet.
