Lulu Men

So, Lulu, you come out with this really nice looking (coughhotguycough) men's shirt that my husband actually liked and is in a color that doesn't look like it was lifted from the Pottery Barn Kids Catalog girls bedding collection. Then you come out with this:

Ugh! The style is ok but the color scheme? It looks like shirts I used to buy my boys when they were toddlers.

Argghhh!

Oh my goodness - Caillou has to be *the* most annoying children's show character! Is there any other more whiny?

I hate Caillou - so glad the kids don't watch it anymore. Teletubbies and Barney was another one.

Sadly Caillou is still in regular rotation on Treehouse in Canada… definitely one of the whiniest characters out there.

Hahahahaha!!!! That shirt looks almost EXACTLY like a red-and-gray striped T-shirt that I bought my 22-month-old son at Target earlier this spring. It's from the Splendid Littles line and looks great ... on my toddler! Hey, come to think of it, I also got him the matching gray shorts. He could be a mini-me for this Lulu man model. LOL.

I actually find Caillou and his rotund parents quite adorable, but my kids don't like the show!

I left a short rant about stupid stripes on the facebook page of Lulu Labs.

Shockingly, my comment was deleted!

LMAO - that is exactly why my husband had refused to wear anything lulu. I finally talked him into a pair of black running shorts and when we got them they had this lime green drawstring and he was like "wtf" LOL They need to really relook at how they market their mens-wear if they want our husbands to wear it...

Ugh, lulu for men is SUCKING lately. What happened to the power yoga short or the vital techs? The metal techs do not compare and all there is for shorts are super short running shorts and casual shorts! Bring back some true sweaty GYM wear lulu!

@ Beverly - mini me - LOL. I almost posted a photo of my son when he was 12 months old wearing a red and gray striped shirt. I bought him stripes like this all the time. Maybe Lululemon is being inspired by Gymboree.

@ anon 6:22 pm - Totally agree with you. Not a big fan of spotting men's pale thighs at the gym either. My husband needs new lulu shorts since he's lost a bunch of weight but there is nothing appealing to get him.

I was talking (complaining) to an employee at lulu the other day about the terrible colour selection for guys this year. They have 5-8 shades of grey and black in everything and get one colour a month. Last month it was green and this red must be the new one.

The employee told me due to a few complaints last year, of too much colour, they scaled their line way back this year. But now he told me of all the complaints he hears about the lack of colour choice in men's.

Personally I think it's lame they went so extremely grey. They always had a grey and black available and now that's your only, boring, choice. Then it only leaves you of one colour option, like the red, that you may not like.

the new tempo tech ss is great, looks much better in person than on the site. i'm a pretty athletically built guy(6'2" 225) and i buy a lot of lulu shorts, pants and jackets, all of these are the best quality work clothes(i'm a trainer) i have ever purchased, but the shirts leave something serious to be desired. i only found out about lulu last fall, i saw pics of all sorts of golf polos from last summer that are some of the best polos i have ever seen. i sure hope they make those again. guys like colors, we just don't usually like purples and teals and oranges, how about some reds and blues?

anon 9:21: I was told the same thing, but I realy believe the real reason is lack of product, they are still experiencing problems in the stores as well as on-line.

The "colors" for men last year were so awful, though - lime green, sky blue, hot pink, pale pink. The orange wasn't too bad but what about some nice royal and navy blues, maroon, dark greens? How about more white, even? My husband likes to wear white when he is out in the hot sun. Nike uses color but they find a way to use masculine and adult-looking color not feminine and juvenile.
