"New" Items Added to the Website

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Unicorn Tears Scoop Neck tank has finally made it to the website. I distinctly remember having to track this tank down at a store because it never showed up on the upload. Anyway, there is a lot of stuff that has been in the stores but didn't make it to the website because of the redesign.

Violaceous / Coal Scoop Neck Tank

There is also a Snorkel and Black Scoop Neck and a few other colors, I think. I know I am getting store stuff mixed up with website stuff.

The Wren / Wren Denim In Stride has been stocked (or re-stocked) plus some other colors in the In Strides.

Anyway, check it out.

Thank you for the heads up, LuluAddict! I missed this completely the first time around. (I was overseas, at a yoga retreat and r&r for a month-can't complain, but I did miss this when it was in the stores.) Now I have one to go with the UT Stratus WU and UT Gather and Crow. Not that it's essential to be matchy-matchy,but I do like the print. ;)

Was at costco yesterday and picked up 3 "kirkland" brand cool racerbacks (the tags say yoga tank) for 12.99 each. they actually seem pretty nice. I got size small and the fit is identical to lululemon size 6.

yay! maybe they will upload the UT stratus WU next!

Funny they had the UT stuff at the lulu outlet in Orlando today.

"back in stock" - is it to minimize "we made too much"? and to maximize the bottom line of the income statement? here are 2 more observations on lulu's latest strategy changes that are impacting customers:
1) if you noticed, since after x-mas, there are hardly any old items on sales at the local store level. i was told now whatever does not get sold out in the store, gets shipped out to the outlet, which is very inconvenient for a lot of people to go to. you do not wait any longer for things to go on sale because you know there is no sale in the store anymore...buy at full price!
2) re:returning goods, purchased on line, at your local store: after system change since April,to get things returned at the store, you need to have a print off of your reciept from lulu e-mail confirmation. otherwise you will get a store credit only. the print out that comes with the package does not have method of payment like before. thus, store does not know how you paid and will offer you credit...unless you have a printer at home.
After all these, what is next?

Check it out. First Nancy at the lab and now the end of Cali lulu buyers.

@ anon 2:20pm: yep, just finished reading the FB boycott info and Lulumum's May 21st blog. looks like the sheep are trying to outsmart the wolf by not buying. doubt it will do anything...LLL has a fairly good grasp of the market now and it'll take way more than 62 ppl on FB to make a dent in their sales.
i agree, their Customer Service is severely lacking but that hasn't stopped ppl from dropping $$$ on their clothing. i know my purchases are tracked in the store because i get the R&D discount. so, i only buy what is in my size range (depending on cut, style and what's on sale on the rack) without drawing too much suspicion. i have gotten the raised eyebrow "is this for you?" question. i politely tell them, "yes, it is" while knowing i will make double on eBay for the item...not because I jack up the price--because the item is that coveted and demanded. i also start my auctions well below the sticker price because I find it interesting to see what the bidders believe the "value" of an item is. granted, the profit i make sure doesn't hurt, either!
abusing the system? hell yes! will i "burn" for it? doubtful. just realize LLL buyers that LLL is profiting off your addiction as much as i am...except my customer service is a 1000 times better--i want repeat ebay buyers and encourage it!

@anon 4:25, aren't R&D people trainers? Shouldn't you be inspiring and training people rather than trying to make money off of them? Seems just wrong. I wish lululemon was more picky about who they give R&D discounts to, and would back off the angels!

Anonymous said...

Totally agree with Anon May 22, 2011 8:31 AM. To use your R&D discount for profit is ethically and morally wrong. Please be "brave" enough to let us know your eBay seller's ID so that we can make a concious choice to not accidently buy from you.

I also get the r&d discount which I use for items for myself to teach and workout in. It is nice to get the discount and it shouldnt be abused. Shame on those who use to abusem

Lululemon, as a public corporation, is in this business to make money and increase their bottom line but I think some of the tactics they are using are ridiculous and a big turn off! Their customer service has gotten atrocious as of late and my last experience trying to return a defective item left an extremely bad taste in my mouth. I've spent almost $2,000 (probably a fraction of what some of you girls spend) in the past year at Lulu for myself and gifts for my mom and sis, and it bothers me a lot that not only am I not rewarded for my loyalty but instead I'm told I'm SOL when trying to return something that was clearly defective saying it was my fault that I must have snagged it on something sharp!! :( I think I'm really done with Lulu after hearing the latest cust service disaster with the angel buyers! Those $12 CRB's at Costco are looking very good to me right now!

@ anon 11:52 am - 1) My local store has a pretty healthy sales rack the last couple of times I was there although I have had people email me their store was doing away with the sale rack. 2) Do you really need a receipt to see how paid? One time I returned something and I didn't have the correct credit card with me so they put it on another. Another time I paid with Paypal and they just put it on a card. Most of the time I am buying something new so it's a wash.

If an R&D wants to sell on ebay and start an auction well below sticker I am all for that. I won't bid above sticker price but if I can snag a deal, I'll take it. I have snagged more than a few deals this way. I really don't care if it "fell off the back of a truck." I'll take cheap lulu anyway I can.

@anon's 8:31, 9:39 and 11:29am: Um, snarky much? Jeesh. So what if someone wants to use their R&D discount. It's their choice on how they want to use that small--and I emphasize SMALL--perk. And, if they're passing on the savings to friends or coworkers or eBay buyers, then I can't fault them for "sharing the wealth". Sounds to me like you're jealous--spent a little too much at Lululemon, did ya?
Moral & ethical?...well maybe the person isn't exactly using the discount in the spirit it was intended but Lululemon doesn't exactly follow their own righteous mantras, either. Who's to say they aren't wearing the clothes, too, and filling out the surveys and feedback, as well? That wasn't stated in the 4:25am post.
Get off your high horses ladies--not everyone has 6-figure incomes to blow $50 on a tank top that looks the same (and requires WAY more coddling) as a $12 tank at Costco, Walmart, Old Navy, etc. You spend your money how you'd like and other's will spend their's. And, if you happen to get a great deal on an exclusive Lululemon item on eBay...just remember, that the seller might be one of those "unethical" R&D trainers who is happily passing the savings onto you...

Anonymous said...

@anon May 23, 2011 4:04 AM-To each his own yeah! But who's snarky here! I just personally prefer not to support dishonesty. I'm all for making an honest living, but to
lie and acknowledge that the item is for herself
" while knowing i will make double on eBay for the item" and gloat about it in this blog is wrong, no matter how you want to justify it.
Ooops! Looks like I'm getting "snarky" here. Better stop!

Just a thought: how many Lululemon employees sell on eBay or Craigslist? They'd be making some serious bank with the employee discount they get. Now there's an ethical dilemma...just saying.

LuluAddict said...

@ 7:15 am - Do you have any idea how much educators on the floor make at lululemon? It's not like it's $60K a year. It's something like $12-15 per hour and they are required to buy the clothes, albeit at a good discount (40-60%), they wear and often have to wear the latest thing to model it for us. Stop looking at the trees instead of the forest. If an employee is selling stuff on ebay or craigslist or kijiji for less than the sticker we have to pay they are in essence passing their discount on to us. Take advantage of it and get some lulu for cheap.

Anonymous said...

@ lla: i agree with you! a discount is a discount is a discount...it's rather difficult to determine who the sellers are and their background. i find it hilarious that some folks are trying to stand on the moral pedestal of truth and integrity and honesty~~i double dare them to ask a seller on ebay what they're background is and see how fast they're blocked from bidding from that seller. buy from the store and pay full price. have at it! buy it at a bargain! go for it! chillax folks!

Anonymous said...

I am happy to get a bargain on ebay. And like LuluAddict, I won't pay for more than what's it original retail is.I'm just happy that I am given the chance to obtain a coveted item regardless of how much the seller paid for it. But once again, I refuse to pay above the retail price. Double standard maybe (where intergrity is concerened,) but what I don't know won't hurt me. Make your own choices!

Hey anon May 23, 2011 4:04 AM

Maybe you missed the "punch line" of the R&D abuser, "knowing i will make double on eBay for the item". Let's face it, we all like great deals, it's when all the items are gone from online or the stores, only to be found at "double" the price on ebay is when it gets to me. But the market is there, if people are stupid enough to provide the money for these "scalpers", then the cycle will go on. I like steals on ebay too, but like LLA, I won't pay any higher the the retail price. Do what you like, but it seems that you are missing the point of those who disagree with you when you are making your case on behalf of thr R&D aduser.

Anonymous said...

Huh, I'm so mad that I can't even spell things right! It's supposed to be "making your case on behalf of the R&D abuser". You probably can figure this out yourself, but just in case you want to make fun of me ranting with typos....:)

How funny, are people really paying above sticker for Lulu on Ebay? Have we reached Beanie Baby fad crazed levels now? We are talking about similar clothes you can buy from a dozen quality retailers out there for pete's sake!I've come to realize that there is nothing special about Lulu expect for the especially high prices! Their quality has gone downhill lately even moreso than their cust service!
This is too funny. Meanwhile, Athleta has some great discounts on their website on almost everything they sell. Just picked up a pair of Kickbooty's(which I think fit my body better than Grooves) for $49.99. While the crazies pay above retail price for Lulu I will be quietly shopping for Athleta or Lucy and enjoying the fact that I won't be seeing my twin wearing my exact outfit in yoga class! ;)

Anonymous said...

Love the Kickbooty too but must admit that I love Lulu more, though I refrain from buying any above retail! Sadly it is true, (paying above retail for Lulu) just check the completed auctions at ebay. Some are even on used ones, yikes!

I've tried Athleta and Lucy. I found the fit and peformance weren't there. I had the underwire on a built in bra in an Athleta tank poke through after very little wear. I've had a couple of Lucy tanks unravel on me. I like their casual wear much better but I've had problems with the dye changing - spots on tanks or the under arms on a black hoodie change color. Lucy is very tricky in that the markdown stuff is usually marked down because there is a problem with it. I love Lucy's spa pants but I've had the stitching come unraveled on them. There is a reason I came to be a Lulu Addict. I think the company has a way to go yet and there are always bad employees but I really love the clothes for the most part. They do have a few duds and the black luon was going to crap for awhile but I think they have fixed that. I have to say in about about the $14,000+ or so I have spent on my lulu I have never returned a defective item to them. Never. I have taken a few things in to be restitched but that is it.

Lucy's cotton tops also hang on to stains like my cheap Target and Kohls (sorry all you recent Kohl's devotees) do. One great thing about luluemon is that their fabrics let go of stains very easily. We definitely pay for this but I rarely buy Lucy if it's not on sale.
