Today's Upload

I have to run out but wanted to put up a quick post to talk about today's upload. I ordered the Coal Energy SL in my regular size. I finally used my $20 Make It Right credit so I am hoping I will get the tank tomorrow. It was a pretty small upload. No Manifesto LS or Sing Floss Travel jackets. I am planning on going to the store today to return my Clam Diggers and hopefully will try on the Heathered Wren Gather and Crow crops to see if I like them any better. If there is anything new I will let you know.

Did you order anything?

Didn't order online, but did pick up two Energy SL in toothpaste and coal in my local store :) I was going to make myself choose one, but I couldn't. Since it is summertime...consider those purchases justified!!!

Is the energy SL as long as it looks in this picture?

I used a store-credit gift card to get an Energy SL in coal as well. The gift card was for a tank of the same price, so how could I justify NOT buying it? :) Also, weren't the Energy SLs $64 last year? I wonder why the $12 price drop - that's really not in keeping with Lululemon's recent practices (not that I'm complaining!).
No offense to the girl modeling it here, but I hope it doesn't cling to me like that. :( I have a wee belly - don't want it accentuated!

Got Energy SL in black. I think I am done for the summer, just waiting for new colors in Push Ur Limits, hoping for something bright and with stripes.

I don't find that the energy ls clings at all honestly! I got my regular size 4. Maybe size up if you think it's going to be an issue for you.

Since it's a small/not-too-exciting upload today, I hope it's OK if I bring in a new subject.

Last night I washed and hung my tri-monthly load of lulus. It is just me, or is there is quality difference in luon? When I rub some luon together, it somewhat sticks with a slight rustling noise, and it easily/slightly catches on the mini hangnails of my hands.

But then I have these last season luon wunder under pant and my new heathered blurred grey Define -- and they are both smooth as silk with zero "flaws."

Is it just me? I did do something wrong with some of my pieces accidently getting in the dryer or something?

Sorry if this might be a previous blog topic... I recall the topic of "luon recipe," but the comments were more about piling and thinness. I would like to address my issue of the slight "stickiness" and not-ultra smoothness. Wondering if it's just me with this problem. Thanks in advance for your replies. This blog is more helpful, responsive and readily available than the GEC.

Hmm that is interesting Madison. Personally I have not bought much of the luon items this year...I think I bought the brushed stills in Jan and a pair of grooves, and more recently the camo WU and the BG define. The camo WU are definitely a different composite of luon--they feel less thick but still smooth.

How are you washing them? I generally sort them by color and weight--like wash all the dark pants in one load on the cold/handwash cycle, a load of jackets/zippers items, then another load of tops in colors, and then separate the whites into another load. It's a pain but it seems to be working.

Unrelated but: My run resolution skirts finally arrived and I L O V E them!! Gorgeous. However, and I don't think it was clear on the website, the white skirt has no pleating in the front or the back. I thought I received a defective skirt at first, but after examining it, it's clear that the fabric was cut and sewn in such a way to not have the pleats. Anyone else notice this?

@ Madison, really quick, I think that static and heathered luon is different than regular luon and is smoother and does not have the pilling, static-y, sticky, linty problems that regular luon has. Were your last season WUs static or heathered or something other than "normal" luon?

Madison Marbles said...

@andrea2251: Thank you for your advice and kindness. What the heck is "static" luon? My last season WU pant that I have and are SMOOTH with zero fabric flaws... they are the grey and white horizontal mini stripped ones. Soft and smooth as a baby's butt. So, there are like different degrees of luon? If so, I think lululemon needs to put that in their descriptions online and on their tags. Is "heathered" a type of luon I should look for in the future? Not really sure what "heathered" means, but it sounds like it should be my preference because my heathered blurred grey Define (as recommended by luluaddict!) should not be called Define, but Divine! Thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge of the different luons. Who knew?

@ Madison - I agree. Some of my luon catches on rough spots on the palm of my hands and some is super smooth. I find this variation in some of my oldest items, too - stuff that is four years old. Most of the newest stuff I've been trying on in the past couple of months seems super slick, however. I have older Dark Classic Sport Gray and Heathered Charcoal bottoms that are very rough. I do find some differnce in smoothness in black luon - my Wunder Unders or Original Energize pants to mention a couple but most of that is soft. Lululemon has a lot of variation in their luon recipe. I think they've probably (or the manufacturer) tweaked the formula many times and the feel definitely changes with the colors.

@ anon 8:57 am - The Energy is not that long. Mine hits about the top of my hip bones. I think this woman is on the shorter side.

The energy sl is not as long as the cool racer backs. I am a long waisted gal, and am super picky about shirts/tanks being long enough, and this tank fully fits the bill. PLus, you can always cinch up.

I went to my store today to try the clam diggers. I dont know how anyone could wear them the waiste band was soo loose on both my normal size and the size down. there is no way i could even walk in them without them falling off.

Anon @ 5:22

I found the exact same thing with the clam diggers.

Waist on the Stance pants is totally wrong too, super tight leg & huge, low rise waist. Constantly hiking them up.

Does anyone know if relaxed fit crops came out in wren or heathered wren?

I'm going to pass on the Energy SL for now because I snagged a personal best singlet on loot last week. Just got it yesterday (in snorkel) and am in LOVE. It's awesome and so lightweight, it will be perfect at BootCamp. I wish I'd known, because I'd have ordered two of them. I also got the resolution skirt and absolutely love it; great fit, great style. Will probably get another. My Surge SFT jacket arrived and it's everything I hoped for in fit and colour and feel. I only wish the zipper wasn't so sharp and the stitching at the pocket is not perfect...but it's a fantastic jacket all the same.

I ordered the Energy SL, can't wait for it to arrive!!

I own two pairs of Clam Diggers and they are a normal fit for me. I did size down mind you.

@Madison & Luluaddict: I guess I was hoping that there was some sort of logical correlation between the smoothness and the "type" (i.e. heathered, static, etc.) Sounds like there really isn't? I hate when my luon gets all stuck together and makes that rustling noise :(

This is a little random...but I want Lulu to bring back the Mynah tank SO. BADLY!!!

While you're bringing things back Lulu....bring back the Mynah!!

Once again, everything good under wmtm is sold out, yet still available to click on, just to get your hopes up :( ive never seen so many website issues before.

@ andrea 2251 - The smoothest luon I have found are the Static colors - static charcoal, static wish, etc.. The new Heathred Blurred Gray and Heathered Sand Dune is very smooth and on the thicker side. Heathered Wren is smooth but a bit polyestery feeling to me.

I think anything that is "static" is made with "luxtreme" luon which is smooth like butter!! and seems to fit a size small and clingy. I had static charcoal relaxed fit crops that fit so much tighter than my black or plain charcoal ones and they showed every flaw. I ended up selling them and can't find another size just like them anywhere.
