OMG, Fastest Sellout Ever!!

Within minutes, something like five!, of being uploaded the Gratitude Wraps were sold out in some sizes. Crazy!

Were you able to get one?

I ordered a size 8 black swan... Now I just hope it's the right size! I'm a size 8 in all my lulu items, but I don't have any jackets from them. I have somewhat broad shoulders and a larger bust though so I feel pretty confident in my 8. I simply cannot imagine having to size down for a jacket when I normally do the opposite at other stores!

NO LUCK!! What I don't understand is if they know it's a great sell, have more inventory! Disappointed..but am looking forward to Paris Pink. :)

I don't know if I leave my cart stuck or just close the window and move on with my day. Its not even the size 6 I thought I should get to size down, its my regular hoodie size.

I have been trying to get an order through for a stride jacket and tank - but it keeps coming up as an error. I have a Gratitude Wrap from last year - so I don't need one this year....but this is getting frustrating. I should check to make sure my card isn't being charged.

same here and i'm not even ordering gw. been on the phone and on hold for 20 minutes and then got kicked to the voice mailbox. just wanted to make sure that i'm not charged twice! grrrrr! i really need yoga this morning! :)

I finally got through to customer service after holding for 35 minutes, Had a GW in black swan in size 4 in my cart and tried to checkout 6 times and got only error messages. Per CS - they did not "anticipate" the high demand for the GW (are you kidding!!!) and their "server can't handle all the people trying to place orders at once" and has crashed. She tried to place order over the phone for me but it would not go through from their computer either. Now, the 4 is sold out. I am REALLY annoyed and frustrated. I have waited over a year for this to be re-released and now due to their computer issues can't get one (I hear it is not being released in US stores). UGH! How could they not anticipate this? Even the CS person I spoke to knew they sell for > 400 on ebay and that there would be high demand (ie lots of people who want the wrap for themselves like me but also lots of people buying multiples in hopes of making a profit reselling on ebay!!) This is totally unacceptable.

I paid with paypal luckily. I'm glad I didn't input a credit card number. This upload is just a big hot mess.

P.S. The gratitude wrap is ugly. Totally don't get the hype. I like showing off my shape, thanks.

I got an order in, hopefully they'll be able to honor it. If they seriously couldn't "anticipate the demand" for this item then they *really* need to lay off the incense.

I put an 8 and 10 into my cart... only got out with a 10. I used paypal... paypal went through but I've got the spinning lulu cricle of death on the checkout page. Paypal confirmed... I really hope I got it!

I got an email confirmation so hopefully that means i got one. I used my credit card so it didn't immediately charge it. I'm hoping and praying. It was amazing how fast this thing selled out. I'm not sure if I will totally love it but been wanting to try it since everyone raves about it. It kinda looks like a potato sack to me though.

@happyhappyjoyjoy Yeah, you said it well. I'm just thinking that excuse is a load of sh*t. There's no way they didn't anticipate it. If any one eductor does research online about the product, they know all about it. I don't believe that for a second.

Not to mention that the educators don't even really have to research much. There are comments on the Lulu site going back months that clamor for when the next release of these will be. People have been asking about them on the FB group for a while.

Is there any other Lulu item that has gotten that much attention and demand?

This is completely freaking insane. We all know Lulu loves the hype - that they love the demand that new releases carry - that's exactly why they told everyone that the GW was coming this week - so there would be this frenzy....but then they fail to plan adequate bandwidth to handle the volume...and say they weren't anticipating it... Hope those corporate guys are growing some looooonnnng noses right now!!

I am reading on line that some people's orders went through like 4 times and their cc cards charged. They are going to allow cancellations past the 30 minute window since it's their screwup (thanks) so maybe some GWs will be restocked. However, I think they put very few up for sale on the US side of the site. The Canadian side is selling out much slower - boo! Why no love for the US?

I'm getting close to really disliking this store. I'm Canadian and have been shopping there since they opened. It took me over an hour to order this jacket and I better like it, bc I had to end up buying it on the Canadian side and ship to my parents. Seriously, what is up with this company?? They never have enough of the right product in stock (yes, they know exactly what we want), their website always crashes and now they go around trying to limit how much any single person can purchase of one item - yes, sometimes we order things in two sizes to get one that fits!? (That last comment is a whole new story that gets me boiling!) This retailer is like a big bad ego that enters a room and clears it out.

@ anon 8:24 am - Their customer service attitude as a corporation leaves a lot to be desired. They could have totally predicted the traffic they'd have this morning. Ever since they brought the website
"in house" it's had trouble. Based on the fact that the Canadian stock has take much longer to sell out they must have had very little stock for the US side. I ordered within 2 minutes of it showing up on line and the 4 & 6 in the Black Swan were already sold out. That's a big middle finger to the US, which is where all their expansion is occurring. I don't get the decision to not sell this in US stores. Hopefully, they will rethink these decisions for subsequent color runs.

Here's some info - apparently they create the same amount of product for both the US and Canada side. BUT the population of Canada is very close to the same population of California alone. US needs more product!!!!

I'm sure it's a marketing strategy on their part. If they decrease availability, the demand increases, partly because the buzz around the product increases, i.e. if I don't buy it now, I won't get it ever. Of course Lulu knew about the buzz for the wrap! I'm sure they'll do a slow release-release some, let them sell out in record time, then slowly here and there let sizes trickle in, and sell out.

Lululemon could, if they wanted, limit the number each person orders. A lot of stores do that with online ordering (e.g. Saks Fifth Avenue limits some perfume orders online).

If you don't mind paying $9.00 for shipping, go into your local Lululemon (if there's one near you), and have them call other stores in the country. If they locate one, they'll take your credit card number, and the store where the item is will send it to your home. I did this with the Audrey Jacket.

I totally agree with all of the comments re having enough stock for the U.S. Also keep in mind that the Canadian stores received the GW, so that's probably another reason for much less demand on their side of the site. Thanks for keeping us updated!

I wonder how long before these are all over eBay for triple the price... It's funny that Lulu gave angels such a hard time last year when the eBay scalpers are going to make a killing off these.. I hope everyone who actually wanted one got one...

@ RunItMyWay: speaking as an ebay seller, it's the bidders/buyers that determine the value of an item. nobody is holding a gun to their heads and demanding they bid/buy an item for over retail price. don't get me wrong, there are several sellers that start bidding well over the retail price of an item--and it will sell! i'm cheap--i don't want to give eBay anymore money than i need to. i've posted quite a few used GWs and other "hard to find" items for WELL below they're retail (so i don't have to pay the excessive eBay sellers fees). all of those items were bid up to the full retail and sometimes double the retail value. that was ALL the bidders'/buyers' decisions as to what they are willing to pay for something (perceived value) versus what a price tag dictates (manufacturer's perceived value). i understand your frustration, but there is a market to be had and some choose to abuse it (high start price), other's try to go with the flow and make a little extra spending money (wait and see what the bidders/buyers will spend)...

Anonymous @ 11:09 is kind of right, however (before you start slinging mud at me) there is another way to look at it.

GWs are not the only items that regularly go for well above orginal retail. Those zip-ups that have the ruffles kind of like the hussle tanks that came out last winter regularly sell for nearly $200. I know that's not as bad as the GWs but it's not good. Anyways my point is I just simply refuse to pay more than retail for current items.

I know that the GWs are different than the other wraps but I would consider one of the others before considering paying that much for one.
I also think that part of the hype about the GW's is that they have been selling for so much on ebay and they have become almost a collectable. Now that's just me because I personally think that the other wraps look better. The fact that I live in a city that is big enough for a well stocked lulu but small enough that things don't sell out in minutes might also be of some influence.

I am also inclined to thumb my nose at Americans that complain that there is something that we can buy in store in Canada that you can't.

I know this is petty but I've been waiting for this. For years and years there have been soooo many items that I have been unable to get because I live in Canada and can't afford to cross the boarder regularly for shopping trips. The purple Nike capris with the lavender waste band that came out this summer that ebay sellers wanted to charge me like $70 for. My Sally Hansen cover-up that costs double what it costs in the States and hardly ever available in my colour...

I have a question. When you call lulu lemon from the phone on your account can they see your name and orders pop up? I called because paypal charged me, but lulu didnt send a confirmation. It just so happens that after trying and trying I had 4 orders, 2 just paypal and 2 with confirmation. I called and told the girl my situation. She said my acct would eventually be reimbursed. I told her I was glad I even got one. She said I can cancel your other orders. I said no that's ok because my boss wants one. Well, 2 hours later one of my orders with confirmation was cancelled. I find this very suspicious. I called back, ironically got the same girl and confronted her. She said she cant see my order and that the warehouse was either sold out when they tried to pull my order or my account looked suspicious when they reviewed it. I'm just angry because who are they to say my account is suspicious? What if I was ordering xmas gifts! Can anyone explain this go me. The gec said pray your other order isn't cancelled. So just because you have a confirmation doesn't mean your safe.

@Amanda-- I wasn't complaining --I was merely stating -- I like the Chai Time -- even though i had an issue with my other one and noticed that Canada got them and US didnt -- in all the Grat Wrap crap --nobody made mention of the Chai time making a reappearance -- geesh!! sorry you can't get all products in Canada -- but thumb your nose somewhere else!

I tried all morning with no luck. I have seen some pop up in the swan color in 8 and 10 and then I check out too slow.
Oh well- I have the method wrap in black which I think is cuter anyways.

The Chai pullover on the Canadian website isn't the new reversible one that was mentioned on here a few days ago anyway. This one is only in white and 88 bucks. You aren't missing anything :) I want to see what the new longer reversible one looks like!

I honestly had no problem either, I got up early waiting for the upload, then the site crashed, kept refreshing, site went back up, saw the gratitude wrap, put a size 4 and 6 in my cart and checked out instantly.. Got my confirmation right away and it shipped today...Weird

I think that this company is a huge rip off. They make me wait online to make me think there are so many "millions" of other users so I will think that they are so popular. I think I'll start going elsewhere !!

Wow, that's insane! I was thinking of getting a Gratitude Wrap but I think I'll save up my $$ and giftcard for a Cuddle-Up (and a pair of Groove Pants) :-)
