Oh - I'm excited about this one. Plus my yoga instructor will get a kick out of it. She is always saying "Set Your Intention" at the beginning of the class. I will give this a try when it becomes available in the US.
@Susan(TJI)-Susan, if you have not already tried it, the best mat, (IMO) is the Manduka Black Mat PRO My husband bought it for me for my first yoga class 10 years ago and I've loved it ever since. The yoga studio I started at, was owned by the Manduka founder-CEO, and his wife; so all our studio loaner mats are manduka! Try it! :)
@Yogibabe I have the Manduka black mat pro and I am still slipping after months of trying to break it in. I've cleaned it several times, even using salt like Manduka recommends on their website. Did you ever have this problem. I went from using "The Mat" which I never slipped on to a more expensive mat that I slip on and have to use a towel all the time.
Initially, mine do slip. Try scrubbing it with a very diluted solution of Simple Green. Scrubbing hard! I'd wash it outside with a garden hose and use the Scotch Brite kitchen scrubber-the rough green or blue side. And then, lay it out in the sun to dry. I'm sure you guys never lotion the body, hands and feet before class but I usually will wash my hands, from elbow downwards and feet, from knee down, before class just to make sure there are no residual oil from my morning lotion routine and natural body oil too. Right now I am primarily practising the "Shadow Yoga" style and we do not use mats, unless it's for floorwork and that is more for comfort than anything else! Hope this tip helps!
@Anon 7:26 - The Mat I had was the older one from a year ago. The newer Mats seem much better. Neither slip. After I bought my Manduka, I was talking to one of the yoga teachers and he told me I should have bought The Mat. All the other teachers seem to love their Manduka. If you don't want to use a towel and don't want to slip, I think The Mat is better.
I have "The Mat" and love it! It is the perfect amount of cushion and no slipping. I forgot to bring it to yoga once and so I had to borrow a regular mat from the studio and that is when i noticed how much better it is compared to the regular mats. Go get one!!!
this is off topic...but is it normal for my luon top to itch..its the run full tilt pullover... I loved it until now after my first wash and it now itches! ugh... Please convince me that my new reversible wonder unders wont do the same thing? or else I'll be returning them along with the new plum define that I think is also luon.
OT, but I just got back from buying the LS run turn around top in black. I am in love!! I had to rip the tags off immediately and put it on right away when I got home. It fits so perfectly (skims my curves but isn't too tight) and is sooo cozy-it feels like velour. I am so glad I found this top. I have tried all the long sleeve Lulu tops previously and for some reason they usually don't look right on me (either too loose or arms too tight, etc). I hope this becomes a staple item for Lulu.
I have a manduka travel mat I have had for two years I still slip on.
OT- now that its getting colder, my WU's don't cut it walking to and from class. I wear leg warmers and that does the trick, but I am thinking when winter hits I'll want to wear a pair of pants over them to and from. Most likely I will just wear an inexpensive pair of yoga pants- but I have my eye on the lulu still pants as well. I don't know, though, seems silly to spend $$$ for pants serving this purpose. Does anyone have a recommendation for pants to wear as a second layer for commuting on foot? I will not be working out/running in both layers.
@ANON 6:05pm. Wash in cold water, with other luon, with a non-powder detergent. Then hang to dry. It should be okay. A little baking soda will take out any odors if you're worried about washing in cold. I have three of the run tilts, and I haven't had a problem. If you still experience itching, you should definitely take it to the store, or call GEC. I hope this helps, even if a little.
I wonder if this will be like the older mats they had years ago (which I still have)... much thicker and reversible, yet both sides still had the lines for alignment. I'm still using mine but always wondered why they had discontinued them. The one I have, the material does not slip at all and it's textured. (This photo makes the mat look smooth though.)
I read somewhere that you had a pull in your turn around LS. If you take it to a lulu store they should repair it for you. I got a pull in my modern racer recently and they repaired it for me!
I was going to purchase several of the LS Turn Arounds- I have one coming from online. But now I am reconsidering.. not sure if I want to buy two tops if one will pull....
I've been wearing my LS turn around a lot the last week- not even close to getting a pull. Mine doesn't seem that delicate. I'm definitely buying another, it is my favorite Lulu top

lol. IS that a foam mat to play on? It looks so funny. Maybe not good for yoga, but for pilates?
I don't think it's that thick- looking closely it looks like the end is just curled underneath because they unrolled it

Hey Anon 6:41, I have the same problem with slipping on the manduka pro. Would you recommend The Mat?

OT- does anyone know if the scuba is coming in the new pinks?
Looks like it's gonna be kinda heavy...
haha!
Could this mat color be a new clothing color as well??? I really like it.

The Mat is the best! No slipping during hot yoga. Love mine.

@ anon 7:59 am, I bought two, and after hearing how they pull, I returned the white one (kept the persian purple).

what does it mean that your tops are all "pulling'?
