The Tutu Is...............Wait For It......$98!!!!...............Bwahahahaha!

Spotted in the stores, the Rehearsal Tutu. (Thanks to Victoria for the pic). It's $98. This was my favorite comment about this photo: "Let's be honest, it's going to be in loot for $29."

Lulu, could you spend your design team's time on more useful items like supportive tanks and bras that women can wear to cross fit and other vigorous workouts? I would love a version of the Ta Ta Tamer with a racerback strap. Keep the cups the same, just make the straps racerback, like in the Champion Powerback Bra.

i totally agree with you luluaddict. i think the design team should spend their valuable time improving and refining already current products. i'd like to see improvement in quality control, better pictures of products on the online store and updated info on products new this year (the new wunder under crops are reversible, but no picture of the reverse side...also the running headband and toque are reversible but no picture of the reverse side and its not in the product info). LLL is known for their yoga, running, and general workout clothing. Why not perfect these types of clothes and leave the rest to other companies? for example- why should i buy a rashguard from LLL when companies like oneill, quiksilver, roxy, volcom, and body glove have been making rashguards for years?

WTF. I'm a dancer and I would never wear this to rehersal....let alone pay 98$ for it?! This is ridiculous, most dancers either get rehersal tutus from their companies or make them. RiDONKulous!

I want better dance wear from lulu but they obviously don't have any actual dancers on their design team (or people who actually workout in general...). Bring back something useful like the Super Sweat One*r - http://www.lululemon.com/community/blog/our-version-of-the-lbd/

They need to spend this time for better quality control. A $100 pair of luon pants or jacket that pills or frays after a few washes is inexcusable. I no longer buy anything made out of luon.

Hahahahaha...

Oh lulu... what the hell is happening to you? Why are you continually doing this to yourself??

The first time I saw the tutu pic, I thought it was a cute little joke. Ummm, what? $98?! I hope no on would kid themselves and purchase this...

luluaddict, do u not get a back similar to the Champion bra when you simply cross the straps of your TaTa Tamer? they're meant to be crossable over your back.

I can't decide which is more ridiculous--this or the harem pants with the saggy diaper I just shit myself look.

OH LULU.

Yes, the tutu is funny - really funny. How about the tutu WITH the harem pants? All clowns would approve!

I agree... this is so retarded. I thought the point of ivivva was so that lulu could stop wasting space in stores with this kind of garbage. At least maybe if they'd brought it out before halloween...

this is insane! the current bras are horrendous and they have no good running tanks right now either, but they make a freakin' tutu?!?!?! WTH!

Agreed - they need to spend more time on product quality control and perfecting the basics!!! Definitely agree with the commenters re: bras, and the luon is such a poor quality for the price. I love the running luxtreme tights, but I wish there were a few more options!!! please LLL, lose the tutus.....

I am a dancer and dance teacher and a lulu ambassador, and I would NEVER wear this tutu! It looks like something that came out of a dress-up box, and for $98 it had better be a proper tutu. Not to mention the fact that there a real, technical dance pieces that would actually be USEFUL to my life, that I continually post feedback for, and they NEVER show up! <<<<>>>>

please bring back more bodysuits... i own a couple of lululemon bodysuits and they are amazing in the way they wear and last! no tutus!

Do you really think they would bring out a tutu if there wasn't an entire dance capsule on the way? patience everyone, the tutu will have a purpose.

Anonymous said...

Hideous. WTF. They have taken this whole black swan thing TOO far!!

Anonymous said...

and this is why nike, athleta, zobha, prana, patagonia, lucy and any other fitness/yoga clothing suppliers are changing their underwear from laughing so hard they peed themselves!

Halloween is finished Lulu ..Even one person mention might have an entire dance capsule on the way...but gee these tutu are beyond ugly and unpratical..Obviously Lulu have money to spare to do this kind of products and will not even sell them. What wrong wt designers in Lulu recently...boring same colors most of the time or 2 tones darker or lighter, then tanks n jackets getting longer do unsderstand for tall pp but at 5.3" feel like wearing pj...Then prices are getting more expensive than before and service online getting worse..

It is an Ivvivva product crossover. Lets be honest, go into an Ivvivva store and the girls will tell you up and down how the mothers buy clothes for themselves there (I don't believe it but whatever) It's just a cash grab at this point.

In other news, watching Glee last night and my husband yells out to me in the kitchen, "she is wearing lululemon!" I am not sure to be proud that from the front of the define jacket he knew it was Lululemon, or worried that now I have so much he recognizes it and won't buy me anymore!

I went into the store yesterday with money in hand to purchase one since we love to play in them for acro-yoga. I was all set to pay around $50, but that was really my absolute limit in price. Imagine my shock to see it was double the price. INSANITY! I went home and looked up patterns to make my own tutu with a lycra waistband for a fraction of the cost.

I purchased this and wear it out to clubs and other dance events. It's super hot, funky, and flattering thanks to the band at the top and the varied lengths/cut of the tulle. I've been wearing it over flared lulu hip pants (which are the bomb; bring them back!). I get a ton of compliments. I've been trying on tutus at dance stores for ages and until now haven't found one of good quality for street/night wear for adults. They're all cheap quality. I know a lot of people who make them, but for my hourly rate, this came out cheaper than making it. I agree; it's not for everyone. But I'm glad they're getting out of the yoga/workout box. Clothes, and life, are supposed to be fun. No, I would not do crossfit in it. Come to think of it, I would not do cross fit.
