Check It Out: Washing Instructions Specifically for Paris Pink Items

Check it out - the website has specific instructions when it comes to washing Paris Pink. Lulu might as well admit it it - the color bleeds. I have a pair of Pow Pink Technikini Mesh underwear that I have to treat like this. When I hang it dry, it has to not touch any other item otherwise it will transfer color to lighter things. It hasn't faded, though, from what I can tell. (Thanks to Cindy for spotting this!)

taking care of paris pink

Parisian's, stereotypically, are a little bit more high-maintenance than the rest of us. To keep your Paris Pink coloured gear happy, we suggest that you:
  • wash your Paris Pinks before you wear them
  • wash Paris Pink garments separately the first time you wash them
  • only wash Paris Pink gear in cold water, with similar colours
  • keep wet Paris Pink clothes away from other fabrics

this is so lame. it is WORKOUT gear. you shouldn't have to treat it like the world's rarest cashmere. they better get ready to make good on refunding ruined clothing because of the bleeding....

Personally, I don't have that much of a problem washing my Paris Pink stuff separately or with black things, but how the heck are you not supposed to get it wet if you're exercising? Even lifting weights I perspire some. Sounds like a big pain...

I don't think getting it wet when you exercise is that big of a deal except if you are wearing it with a lighter colored item - like the white glacier lace waistband bottoms or a white define - then you are going to have an issue.

I really don't think it's much different than when I buy a new pair of high end denim (sfamk, coh, etc). The dark ones always come with a tag that says "wash before wearing/ink may transfer onto lighter garments etc etc". Annoying? yes. Out of the ordinary? no.

Well, I washed (and DRYED! Which I never do with lulu...) my Paris Pink FlowY bra before I wore it in an attempt to set the dye. I wore it to Bikram and it BLED onto my white studio rental towel, through said towel and onto my Manduka skidless towel (the pink washed out). I cannot believe how much it bled after I had washed and dried it.

soaking in 1C white vinegar to 1 gallon COLD water for 15 minutes should make a big difference in setting color.

I was just in my local store yesterday and they denied any bleeding issue with the Paris Pink. Then I saw the "special instructions" on the website this morning. How can lululemon call their sales staff "educators" if they don't know about known issues or alternatively choose to lie about them? On the other hand, the Paris Pink color is very nice in person. I almost bought a Swiftly, but passed because I don't want to deal with the bleeding/babying issue. There's way too much good stuff to buy - why waste my time on a problem item?

Anonymous 3:40, I asked the same thing re paris pink at the Halifax lululemon earlier this week. The "educator" told me that they have never had such problems with their items. Needless to say I had returned a pow pink pullover in the past for the same reason and happened to still have the photos of the bleeding on my phone to show her. (This was the same clerk that told me she was unfamiliar with older products products as she's been on vacation for 2 years).

Though I do agree that Paris Pink is an awesome colour, it's way too much work. It boggles my mind that American Apparel can make "highlighter" tees and not have issues with the dye - but lulu can't get it right. I'd rather see SeƱorita Pink come back! Just as pretty, less maintenance!!

I haven't had any of my paris pink bleed! I have the flow y bra, cool racerback and the new wunder under crops with the paris pink quilt waistband...I washed the racerback in cold water and dried it before I used it, but didn't wash the bra or crops and I've worn them twice to hot yoga and they didn't bleed at all...maybe it's the luxtreme pieces only that bleed?

very very lame way to make poor quality sound like it's special. wake up lulu and go back to the quality canadian product you used to produce. we are NOT that stupid. please give your loyal customers some credit.

I washed my Paris pink run swiftly by itself in vinegar and cold water. Then I washed it again with a load of all black Lululemon. I threw in a color catcher to see if it was still leaching dye. The color catcher came out clean. Very happy with my Paris pink!
I also wore it before I washed it to the gym. No problems. I was told I looked like a good and plenty.
