New Color - Definitely Flash

Sigg Water Bottle in "flash"
I should have thought about looking at the accessories yesterday to get a clue on the new orangey-red/pink color, Flash, but I didn't. Anyway, I have multiple product notice emails calling this water bottle Flash so I definitely think the new color is Flash and not flush.

A store in Australia posted photos of new The Mat yoga mat colors (thanks to Megan for the heads up). They could be old colors like Tree Frog, Currant, and Persian Purple but I tend to think they are new colors like Flash, Limelight (or whatever the female version of Limelight will be), and maybe Pigment Blue. There is a water bottle in Moore Blue but I'm not sure what that looks like. There is also a gold water bottle. Not sure if we'll see clothes in these colors but the accessories often debut the new color palette.

I love your blog and thanks for posting great info. It does crack me up that you and Lulumum know more about upcoming products than the employees that work for the company. Too funny :)

My store had tons of different water bottle colors today as well as mats, i never thought to look at what the colors were as these 2 items dont appeal to me. But I am planning a trip again for Tuesday (hopeing for Cabin LS to come in my store hasn't recieved any that have come online in the past few weeks) and I will check it out!

anon 3:09-
From what I understand, it's not that employees don't know what's coming (I've been told that they actually know exactly what's coming a month in advance), it's that they aren't allowed to talk about it. (it's a secret until it actually hits the floor of the store)

My store had a binder of a "product plan" of what the store would get many months in advance and I was lucky enough to have a peek at it! I could see what I had to buy online vs. using my R&D discount in the store. Nice!

They definitely have a product line for the next month on what is coming in. Most of the girls in my store don't look at it. They really don't care to, they will just wait for it to arrive and then be surprised. They aren't supposed to tell "us" about it. One of the educators at my store said it was considered "Insider Trading". I got a good laugh at that!

look red :(((( not pink!

The mats are probably new. At least the green one is. I know it isn't Tree Frog because the Tree Frog imprinted lulu symbol was dark green, not light.

we have a line plan, its just the products dont "exist" till they hit our floor.plus there are sooo many products to remember it is just easier to know the ones on the floor while they are in. a big part of it is so we dont tell you something is coming new one day and the shipment is late

lla, I want to thank you for the recommendation of the canvas tint scuba. Got it today, and I love it!

@4:25....so many products to remember? lol

@7:32-- I know, right?! It drives me crazy that I know more about the products than the so-called "educators." Hello, isn't it your job to know the product? I walked into a store the other week asking about the Turn Around Long-sleeved shirt (which I had called about earlier to inquire availability), and both of the "educators" on the floor were completely clueless, even after I had given them a detailed description of the shirt. Ended up finding it myself.

Hey LLA,

Washed my RFYL Heathered Royalty tank for the 4th time (wash my lulus in mesh bags, separate, on delicate cycle), and saw some threads on the back coming undone. I am off steaming to Santana Row Santa Clara store, wish me luck. I am pretty irritated at the quality considering what i paid for this tank.

Lulu colour trends tend to follow runway fashion trends. They did with the deep camo, current, black/white prints and even ikat. So next spring/summer I think its safe to say, based on the nautical trend coming back and now lulu's got a blue and white striped CRB- we'll most likely be seeing bright orange for sure ("Tangerine Tango 17-1463), more black and white, golden yellow ("Solar Power" 13-0759), and another purple ("Bellflower" 18-3628)

nice colours!

@732 and 831- yes there are alot of different products all with different features to remember. 832 iam sorry that the educators didnt recognize the product that you were looking for, yet alot of the educators are very involved outside of lululemon athletica. i am also sorry that you find my comment about there being a large number of products to remember funny. personal i am a mid 20 year old 4th year university student athlete who works part time for lululemon athletica. on a pant wall alone at one time there can be 14 different pants available. so yes there are going to be times when it feels like alot of products and not every educator is going to know the piece you are searching for.

I'm a fourth year nursing student and work part-time and train for marathons and I know upcoming LLL product and the current offerigs on the floor. I had good sales training from working at Nordstrom back when I worked retail. They wouldn't put up with employees not knowing their own product and the employees wouldnt make much money if they always answered, "I don't know" or "Wow, is that one of our jackets?". I have had the sales clerks at LLL bring out their line book and other times tell me they don't know what's coming in until it arrives. Just being consistent with that stuff would be an improvement over playing coy whenever the mood strikes.

this wasnt supposed to turn into a big deal , i was just trying to explain why some people may not know certain products. for myself i work hard to make sure i know the products on the floor and that guests might be asking about, however that is speaking from my experiences with my team and managers. i can not say that the same standard is taken in every location across north american. at my location the line plan never leaves the back room and from how i was trained about the company it never should. it is too bad that some locations are not following the same policies that have been set out by the company. it is information we are not supposed to be sharing to be fair to the guests and to leave room for surprise and delight when new products are released.

this is too funny as I stopped by the lululemon store in Wayne,Pa and asked if they received the colored W/U...they looked at me like a darn fool...like huh we dont know anything about that!! this is so funny because a store maybe 30 miles away (Walnut Street Lulu in Philly) has them advertised on their FB page...Sometimes its a hit or miss..I find that the girls during the week or generally nicer then the B*tches that work on the weekends...Seriously if you hate your job that much just quit..NOBODY wants to walk into a store paying that kind of money for lulu clothes to only be approached by snobby jerks...Enough of the negativity..I want to personally say I ADORE the KOP mall lulu ladies...they treat me like I'm special when I walk in...=)

Everybody should feel like someone special there, where they consistently spend their money. It's that simple. Customer Service 101

So I suppose I shouldnt waste my time stopping in to ask them if they are going to replenish or get some fantastic new items this last week before Christmas, or if they are going to only have the remaining picked over product with limited sizes? I wanted to buy my hubby his first lulu item (out of stock online and only some light grey color he would never wear avail in the store), plus he waits till the last minute to buy my gift and I'm not interested in anything left in the store or online (I was hoping for lined studios but don't have my heart set on them). I'm thinking I should go grab a Facconable shirt for him and tell him jewelry is always a welcome gift for me. :)
So I'll probably get a more accurate answer if I ask LLA or other regulars how LLL typically works during these last few shopping days. Any thoughts or ideas from past experience?

Seems like the customer service varies greatly store to store or day to day dependent on the educator. I always seem to have either super wonderful service or exact opposite. I went to get my mini check define the other day, and they didn't have my size, which was also sold out online. The GE said they could not call another store and have me buy it that way (in a very nasty way. I don't feel like going into how the conversation went, but the GE was very unnecessarily rude). I asked to see a manager, and another GE swooped in and helped me, and was very nice. The store I placed my order with was wonderful, very friendly and helpful on the phone.

On another note, I got a hot pink define like jacket from costco today, with the matching groove type pants. The jacket looks great on. The price for the pants were 19 something, the jacket 29 something. The jacket looks so similar in fit, cut and detail to the define.

I agree their customer service can definitely be lacking...

I sold an older pair of black denim grooves on ebay. The gal who bought them took them to her local store to see if they would hem them. She was even willing to pay if need be.

They told her the grooves were fake and they wouldn't hem them for her nor would they let her pay for hemming. I have sent her a copy of my receipt--bought 2 years ago mind you, so we will see if they hem them for her now.

These grooves are 2 years old and probably do not look like the more recent version of black denim grooves...but they definitely are not fake, the quality is standard lulu quality and yet they jump to the conclusion they are fake.

I have seen fake lulu and it is very poor quality so I am stunned by their assumption that the grooves are fake when in actuality they probably just aren't familiar with the older denim groove pant.

is lulumen the same person? am surprised to see a blog for menswear... didn't know there was a devoted fan base.

No stores should be taking out the lineplan of what is coming in to show guests. We are not even supposed to say what is coming in our shipments (even if they are supposed to come the next day) because who knows? It might not show up and then you have a person who is disappointed that they came in looking for them when they were told they'd be in. It's our company's goal to surprise and delight our guests when we get new product in :) So don't consider it rude if one educator will show you the line plan and the other doesn't give you any information when you ask if an item is coming in. The educator showing you the line plan is in the wrong for showing you that. It's for employees only to see.

@ pattybea - So weird they thought a pair of denim grooves were fake. The likeliest fakes are plain black luon. I bet they were newer educators who had never seen older black denim luon before. I know I'm a bit anal but I keep the hang tags to my lulu and send it to the next person when I sell my lulu.

@1:48 - no, not the same. There are a couple of men's lulu blogs - lulumen and luluman. I cover men's stuff now and then when a new item or color catches my eye. Since my husband is buying it more for himself these days, I'll cover it a little more in the future.

Sometimes the line plans aren't followed. I know the fresh manifesto ls shirts (the ones with the script writing) were supposed to come out in April and they didn't show up until 3 months later.

Wired I just had an older pair of denim grooves hemmed as well as a pair of pique grooves from last year - no issues.

Anonymous said...

I can't imagine my store turning down hemming a pair of pants suspected of being fake! If anything, we'd pin them on the guest and take them, and then research that evening before they were sent out to the hemmer to make sure they are real if they are suspected of being fake. Then if it was discovered that they were fake, we could show proof of that and then inform the guest. Chances are, the guest would be super bummed about them being fakes themselves and want their money back from the seller! I can't imagine someone knowingly bringing in a fake to get hemmed.

Customer service and policy definitely varies from person to person... A few weeks ago I called to put something on hold and the GE said no holds even if I was on my way to the store. I called back the next day and they let me purchase the item over the phone and have a family member pick it up (without my card.) The GE suggested the over-the-phone purchase- i wasn't even going to ask because I assumed it would be a "no".
