Deep Indigo Bleeds, Too?

Posted today on a lulu-fan Facebook site - a photo of the Switch Back LS with color bleeding from the Deep Indigo stripes onto the white stripes. I would have never expected this from running luon in a dark color. This woman went for a one-hour run in this top. Having multiple colors have dye issues in multiple fabrics in unacceptable, lululemon. Where is the quality control? Don't you test this stuff before you release the product? For the price you charge people expect much, much better. You better get it together quickly before people seek out brands (probably all of your competitors) you can actually sweat in with out worrying about.

Agree! That is just unreal!!! Quality seems to be going down while prices just keep rising!!! Back in the days, I used to be able to get a jacket and a pair of pants firer only $110!

I read a comment on one of the groups (I believe it was an educator) that the bleeding comes from an interaction with the dye and a person's sweat PH. So the assumption is that if pp bleeds when you sweat, any other "bleeding" color probably will. However if one color doesn't, you are probably safe with the others.

For example, none of the colors bleeds on me (I guess my sweat doesn't react for some reason). I, personally, stay away from most "iffy" colors because I don't want the risk, hassle and I think it's ridiculous to pre soak workout gear. But I thought this might help some people avoid this who have had bleeding problems several times.

I never liked this shirt in the first place! I can not understand this design with the huge Waldo stripes!!

She needs to dust her mirror...

Not good, not good at all. I mean, these clothes are MEANT to sweat in, regardless of your PH or what not. I would expect that for $90 you wouldn't have to worry about this! I do NOT baby my workout gear! Someone also just posted a picture on the TJI page that her pigment blue striped lively tee bled with casual wear - she was just wearing it to run errands. A cotton tee that bleeds color when you're just wearing it around town? Come ON Lulu! Check your product before you ask us to pay that kind of money for a t-shirt! It's SUCH a hassle to return!

Crap I bought the pigment blue striped tee now I have to take it back, the ls cabin was oka. Really I have had it, Old Navy and the Gap can make bright colored workout wear for the fraction of the price why cannot Lululemom?

Are there any reports of the other indigo fabrics bleeding? Those of you that bought indigo items already, any groove pants, wunder unders or ebb & flow items bleeding??

Did she wash it first? I did with mine and had no problems.

So now our "sweat" has something to do with color bleeding? What a crock of baloney LULU....

With my background in chemistry, I'm not buying the pH and sweat argument. Sounds like a poor excuse for a lack of QC with regards to the dye used for the latest colors in the line.
On the positive side, I went for a super sweaty 7-mile hill run in my pigment blue stripe CRB in 80 degree heat yesterday and had no color bleeding issues (highly recommend that tank for running btw).
So crazy that the color bleeding happened on this shirt given the $10 price bump for LS running shirts. It's almost laughable in a really sad way at this point.

This is beyond unacceptable. For the record: NOTHING that I have ever bought from Nike, Brooks, Gap, Old Navy, Sugoi, Beyond Yoga, Lucy...and countless other athletic attire companies have ever bled color.

Lulu should lose customers over this. I know they have lost A LOT of sales from me. I own one PP item (that I only wear around the house/bed) and 2 pigment (house/bed). Aside from that you can't get me near flash, PP, pigment or any other color known to bleed or that I think might potentially bleed. That is a lot of items I would have bought, but now won't. In the meantime I have spent money with other brands that don't have these issues.

I don't know what the reason is, sweat PH, crappy materials---who knows! But whatever it is lulu better figure it out asap or they will lose me as a customer completely.

I guess I've been lucky but I have had no trouble with bleeding. And I bought a lot of Paris pink and have used it for Bikram and long runs. I washed everything first but I guess from all the evidence I have just been lucky. I do feel for all of you who had had issues. It is totally unacceptable product quality and product quality is why we all love Lulu in the first place. We all spend our hard earned $'s at their store and deserve better.

I have had a Lucy item change color under the armpits (a black sweat jacket) and numerous other problems with Lucy (unraveling seams, broken straps) so I don't buy it that much but as for other brands: Beyond Yoga, MPG, Margarita, Zobha, Nike, Adidas, Danskin - I can't recall any problems with color issues.

I had issues with paris pink bleeding from sweat but I have the pigment blue as well and had no bleeding so I don't think it necessarily has to do with sweat.

Wow. I smell BS. The sweaty pH theory is BS if items also bleed in the laundry.

I once had a snorkel blue pullover turn lime green in he under arms, and was also told it was my body's pH.

Are you kidding me!?!? Hope your pH is just right or this will bleed! Oh it bleeds on you? Sorry, lululemon can't help you!

Please everyone, let's use our heads and hold onto our wallets. We should NOT be buying high maintenance workout gear for this price, and we should not buy lame a$$ excuses like 'pH balance' to justify a poor quality dye.

anon 12:07--I completely agree. There is being obsessed with a brand, and then there is being plain stupid. Throwing money at a company like this is ridiculous. I sure hope lulu shapes up fast because my spending has significantly dropped. If things don't improve I'll abandon ship for good.

(and it's not just the bleeding issues--it's crappy website issues, limited supply, poor uploads, pilling for people, different prices at different stores...just a long list of issues)

Before reading this, I had already concluded that, at least for me, I haven't had any problems w/PP bleeding with water, just my own sweat, and even then, it has come out easily on anything that it did bleed on to. The worst offender for me was my royalty turbo tank. It stained my white DSP's a bright raspberry color. After many attempts with every stain removal additive on the market, there is still a faint tinge of purplish pink on the waist band, drawstrings, and pockets. So, there may or may not be something to the pH argument. I am now recalling a seƱorita pink tank bleeding on to white too. I will say that my personal bleeding issues have occured w/luxtreme tanks.

This is absolutely atrocious !! Lululemon asks an arm and a leg for their products and this is what the costumers get for their hard earned money?? I hope lululemon loses tons of costomers and then perhaps they will finally get their act together and start putting quality back into their clothes. This isn't acceptable.

This is just wrong.
No other company have I heard of items being ruined after one wear and then denying the problem but issuing memos about how to wash, come on. Recall the items and offer full refunds even if the customer doesn't have the receipt. Customer service should be first. Sure I've had dye from jeans rub off but what happened here is just wrong.

I used to buy lulu now I only buy when something is on markdown and even then it has to be at least $20-40 less.

Time to revist the Gaps new workout line!

Or checkout Victoria's Secret. I know someone who is working on a workout line they have produced to compete with lulu. A lot of the items are actually pretty cute. Sure it's VS (I'm not the biggest fan), but I've been given a lot of the items and they are nice. The bras are really good and I prefer them over lulu. (oh, you can get the VS items online or in about 4 cities, and no, it's not the "pink" line)

I got a Champion bra from Target in a neon pink (kinda like PP) ad neon orange that bled all over my workout tanks. That said, they were only $16.99 reg price..

Bah I just bought this top but now I'm thinking of taking it back...I don't even really want to take the chance with this! That is so annoying!

I just washed my pigment blue wunder unders and energy bra for the first time in cold water with some vinegar and a bit of salt. I soaked first, but the color of the water was so very faint that I stuck all the rest of my lulu stuff in with it (purples , blacks and greys) and ran the wash. So I'm not worries about those items now.

I do have a PP Energy bra soaking in salt & vinegar now. Very faint bleed.

Update to my soaking PP energy bra status: VERY bloody after an overnight soak.
