New Markdowns on the Website!

New markdowns were added to the website late last night - Cuddle Up jackets and more.

yes, and the Run Your Heart Out pullover in white that I so much wanted to buy when it was still full priced, is now on sale, so I ordered one right away, together with a It's Happening Jacket and the brushed WU pants. I'm so broke this month but could not resist.

Lulu's We Made Too Much kills me. Most prices are just what the item should have cost in the first place, and 'all sales final'when a $120 item is marked down $20? Why risk it for a few bucks?

I saw the Audrey jacket marked down to $129 but all the sizes were sold out. Did anyone see it when there were still sizes left?

Do the Cuddle Ups loosen with wear/wash? I've been eyeing up the sparkle CU since it came out but every time I tried it on I couldn't decide if I liked how stiff it is. Now that it is on sale I might try it out. Thoughts?

I saw the new markdowns at about 11:45pm PST and both colours of the Audrey Jacket in markdown were sold out already. Not sure what time exactly the new items in markdown were uploaded but it could have not been more than an hour earlier, as I checked the site and there was nothing new yet. Maybe they uploaded one or two sizes and had only one in each size in stock?

To Screenshop I agree with you on that it's not worth being stuck with an item just because you bought it on markdown only $7 cheaper, like the Manifesto LS (was $68 now $59) or the hair ties (was $10 now $7), to name a couple. The thing is that if you really want this item, you can not longer get it at full price and so, keep the option to return/exchange it. It has happened to me and it always annoys me that is money wasted. It goes to trash or clothes donation, as ebay is not an option for me (shipping fees from this small european country where I am, would usually be more expensive than the item itself)

Does anyone know what the strategy is, behind leaving on the site (in the WMTM section) some stuff that has been sold out for weeks? For instance, the Work It Out Pants (Denim and Pique) have been there for quite long time, never a size available. Most of whatever sells out is promptly removed, but not these two. Is it to check how many times in a day people click on them? There must be a reason for some items to remain on the site long after they sold out.

anon 1:13 i don't think there is a strategy to mistakes like this. And I say "mistakes" because I think it's a lazy internet department. The entire website is full of mistakes-items that should be in more than one category-aren't-and you have to hunt for things that should be easy to find. Item descriptions are copied and pasted for wrong items rather than descriptions being re-written and you have no idea what you have bought until it arrives at your house.

Then things happen like the Will pants disappearing for no apparent reason and no one can get a straight answer about it. On Christmas Eve/day all sizes and styles of the WIll pants were available. On Boxing day they were gone. All of them. We have heard they sold out overnight, to it was a mistake and they will be returning to the internet during the next upload (which was 2 uploads ago).

Who knows why they do the things they do? I tell you one thing though, it frustrates me and I'm obsessed with the company. Imagine someone that doesn't have the commitment to the product the way I/we do? They might just walk away. Oh well.

I concur. For example... when an item is removed/no longer available, it's left as a blank white space. That is simply unprofessional, sloppy programming/editing. For as popular as lululemon.com is, I really don't get how terrible their layout/interface is.

I agree with Anon and CC, the website is appears to be run by flying monkeys. My husband who works in tech was actually laughing out loud at some of the website errors I showed him. And to think I just read a stock article about how they were "expanding their global presence" through web sales.

the pricing on the scoop in the WMTM section is all wonky. says 39 but when i put it in my cart it jumps to 52. BOO!

AAAAARGH, so frustrated. I bought the Cuddle Up Jacket LAST WEEK at full price, during Boxing Week. I wish there was some way to know which items will make it to the WMTM, as so many never do. I spent $120 on this jacket (which I do love, for the record), I'm just hugely frustrated that it is now only $99. Those $20 would come in handy.

Anon 3:59- I contacted them on FB yesterday to let them know about the error with the scoop neck tank. Customer service said they would take care of it and never did. Im sure it would have sold out by now if they would just fix the problem.

@anon 3:59 and 6:17~ something similar to this issue happened to me a couple of months ago. I called GEC and they took my order and adjusted the price to the lesser amount. No problem at all. They apologised and correct the problem for me very nicely. I was impressed! Call them for your order. :)

I've bitched about the website so much since the day it went live that I've given up writing about all the errors. You would think a company that designs such great athletic clothes for women and has a great in-store experience would have an A#1 website but it's shocking how shitty it is. My only conclusions are:

#1 Lulu pays shit so can't attract the proper talent OR

#2 There is a corporate bias against the web that comes from a bunch of dinosaurs being in charge, most likely Chip Wilson being the #1 culprit. Christine Day came from Starbucks. What does she know about web presence to sell her product? I know the stock has gone through the roof over the past 4 years but what if they had a CEO who had actually come from an apparel background? I think it would have done even better.
