OOTD (Outfit of the Day):

Today is a rest day for me. I was thinking I might go to the gym this morning but my ITB is aching so I'll let it rest. This is my rather dull but warm for a chilly day OOTD for running errands and volunteering at school: black Cabin LS top, Heathered Charcoal Still pants, Black Snowy Owl Scuba.

Do you notice any problem with pilling on your Cabin LS? I just bought the silver spoon striped one and have only worn it twice and it's pilling---I have a closet full of lulu and this is the first time I've encountered pilling. Is this normal with the Cabin LS or is it something I should take back to lulu?

I'm actually wearing my Cabin LS today too!! Anon 10:25, I have not had any pilling problems with my Cabin LS and I wear it all the time. This is the original Cabin LS (not the Cabin LS II) but I expect them to have the same material. I'd contact Lululemon about that!

haha I'm wearing the same cabin today for teleworking, too! No pilling issues for me, although I have noticed some pilling in my newer Cabin LS II's. So comfy- love 'em!

I may take mine in then. It's a bummer because I LOVE this thing! I have the blue too and it's just as comfy (no pilling on that one though). Maybe I just ended up with a dud?? I'm so bummed though, because I love how comfy this is for lounging around the house!

LOVE your outfit as well as the other "floor" outfits you've posted lately. I find it very inspiring and helpful in coordinating my own outfits. Problem is now I want some of the items no longer available like the leaf pattern Shape Jacket and those fun multi dotty Wunder Unders. Keep the floor outfits coming!

I love my black snowy owl.. I purchased grey sparkle scuba that was on sale several weeks ago and I noticed its really stiff.. it's not like the black snowy owl scuba..do you thinkg its the fabric?? yeah..I was a little disappointed because of the fabric..

I have an older cabin ls. the white/grey one and I've never worn it with the white outside. I did yesterday and it is pilled all between the fabric. Little bumps and so noticable. I have too much Lululemon to wear it all, so it has taken me a year to figure this out. Disaapointed. That said, my newer striped one is not pilling so far.

Hahaha Luluaddict - I hope we don't run into each other today (although I was at the Sepctrum this morning!) as I'm wearing almost the same thing sans scuba. I've got coal still pants, a tc crb and my black cabin LS on. Lol.

I wore my new flash CRB today and I love it! It is bright, but such a pretty color. I like the non-heathered flash even more! I hope more items come out in flash. It is a very energizing color.

@Susan -- I also had the older cabin long sleeve -- and didn'y wear it much last year and went to wear it this year with the light blue side and had the same thing happen -- it was unwearable with the little pills - I contacted the GEC and after a month of back and forth email they sent me a gift card for the value -- you should contact them

LLA- My husband is a sports med doc and we have done a combined 20 Ironman races...this is important advice!

Before you buy another piece of lulu buiy yourself a foam roller at a running store. Roll you ITBands out EVERY day ...you should stay on that thing until it is comfy...or at least tolerable. Also, roll after every run. ITBS is easy to prevent but VERY hard to cure and it one of the most common running injuries. It is a result of increasing your mileage or pace too quickly. Don't increase your mileage again until the soreness subsides and then start SLOW and only increase the 1mile/week or 10% of your previous long run. I have found the BEST stretch for the ITB in the yoga "figure 4" pose. I have actually done that stretch mid-race with an ITB flare up and it extends my miles before another stab. Lastly, check the age of your shoes. Starting a new running program you should NOT NOT NOT run in the same shoes you wear to the gym and run errands in. Make your running shoes your babies. Buy them new at an actually running store where they do a fit and gait analysis. Then ONLY wear them for running. My ITB tends to act up when my shoes are getting old. The general rule is 500 miles or 6 mos change them out...whichever comes 1st. If you're really sore today you can use some arnica gel on that bursa right where the ITB meets the knee. Be careful with your use of NSAIDS (Ibuprofen) and do not use them when you race or run long in hot conditions. Studies have shown that they prevent the absorption of electrolytes and can lead to life-threatening conditions such as hyponatrmia. Hope you feel better after a little rest!

@ Katie- Thanks for the tip. I think the thing that really flares my ITB the worst is too high resistance on the spin bike. I know I need to get a foam roller and thanks for the tip on the arnica gel. I need to get that. My shoes are pretty new. They are trail runners that I only use for running. They probably have about 100 miles on them. My next month's purchase is new running shoes, though.

My Cabin LS is the first one they made. It *is* pilling between the layers but not awfully. I haven't taken it back because I like the finished seams on the cuffs and bottom.
