Warehouse Sale in.....Chicago!?!?!

On the good side, lulu is bringing a warehouse sale to the US in a couple of weeks. On the bad it's in Chicago. How come, lulu? California has 27 stores, 18 of them in what can be loosely considered Southern California. We win, we have the most lulu stores of any state. How come no love for us, your biggest fans? We don't even have an outlet near us, unlike the Northwest, Northeast, and Southeast. I'm going to go cry into my lulu bandana now but first let me check flight prices to Chicago.

Don't cry....just come to visit us! I can't wait, but would love to hear from people who have experienced one of their warehouse sales before so that we can know what to expect.

This is the most awesome news I've received today! LuluAddict - you should definitely fly out for it. We'll have a big Lulu brunch after the sale. :)

Waaaay back in 2000, I flew to Chicago from Mpls for 100 bucks each way. LOL. Not the case today, but a girl can dream!

LOL - I'm not going - I was just briefly fantasizing about it. My son has a soccer tournament that weekend. I do have a friend who lives in the area, though. I may give her a wish list but I don't have much idea of what would be available. I also have learned from painful experience is that if I didn't buy it at full price I probably didn't really want it. I end up selling a lot of my mark down items much quicker than the my other lulu. I wonder if we can expect to see stuff from 4 years ago or just the most recent stuff. Any warehouse sale veterans want to chime in?

Neither Chicago nor California is close to me (Edmonton, Alberta) but if I were to fly somewhere for a Warehouse sale I would much rather go to California! So I support your plea for a warehouse sale in California LLA!

@ MELR - Oh yeah, I've seen the reports of previous warehouse sales in Canada where people are waiting outside in the cold for hours - brutal! Maybe next year.

OMG I live in Chicago! We won't have to wait outside to get in the Convention Center, there are heated walkway tunnels from the parking garage!

Chicago in January? No thank you!

I don't even want my old stuff why would you want to buy new old stuff? Seriously, I can have my own warehouse sale, lol

Maybe they figure that Californians have enough stores in which to shop for sales. Why not have it somewhere else?

Yippee for those of us who live in the Windy City! And what a cool shot of our awesome yoga instructor Alison at the Willis Tower skydeck!!!

LLA, you said your OOTD included a heathered currant CRB.... I have a currant CRB and a heathered tango CRB, but have never seen a heathered currant CRB. Where did you find it?

$240 flight SFO to OHARE

@ anon 5:48 pm - That was an old tweet that had been archived - something was wrong with twitter today. It wasn't heathered currant, I think I meant to write Heathered Smokey Rose. There wasn't a Heathered Currant CRB.

A friend of mine mused that the reason that the US warehouse sale is in Chicago is because it's kind of close to the Canadian one in Ottawa that is the week before. Or, maybe they tried to choose a geographic middle point of the US? Oprah wanted one? I dunno.

@ anon 1:53 pm - LOL I kind of agree with you. If I passed on it once, do I really want it?

For those of you thinking that they will take the leftovers from the Ottawa sale-this won't happen. It would take too long for the stuff to clear customs and be ready for the sale in Chicago. Stuff that has been brought into Canada stays in Canada and same for the stuff brought to the U.S. (stays in the U.S.).

I would guess that they chose Chicago for the central location and ease of transportation. Lulu has also recently opened a barrage of B&M stores in the Midwest (Indianapolis and Cincinnati to name two) that, perhaps, haven't caught on as well as the new stores on the
respective coasts. I bet this sale will have a lot of Scubas, jackets, tanks and bags. I was in the Rush and Walton store recently that had a huge stack of unsold Scubas ( I think this is the store that gets the most "traffic" in Chicago).

I will be going and can't wait to witness the madness and shop for myself and my friends ;-).

Where are the Northwest, Northeast, and Southeast outlets you mention located specifically? I didn't know there was such thing as a Lulu outlet!

I live in Chicago & am excited to go - but worried about waiting in line :( I actually recently went to the Orlando outlet & was very disappointed. Everything was current & it was the same stuff that was in the WMTM section, only more $$. Bags were on sale for $59 that were $49 online. And one pair of pants was $79 at the outlet & $74 online. Hopefully the sale will be worth it!

Media reports of the Canadian Warehouse Sale said that the lines were 4 hrs to get in, 2 hrs at the register.

no thanks.

If you can ever make it to a Lululemon warehouse sale DO IT!!! I would recommend going on the first and last day if at all possible.

I went Saturday and for $401.96 (including tax) I bought 4 Power Y Tanks, 2 Groove Crops, 2 Limited Edition Scuba Hoodies (both online for full price), 2 Flow Y IV Bras (2/$29, 2 Coolracer Back tanks, 2 water bottles and a tutu.

I could have bought more if money grew on trees! I guess the last 2 hours they made size 10 and 12 buy one get one!! Scubas were knocked down to $39 during the last few hours and many of them were this years limited editions, which are still online for full price! Yoga mats, head bands and bags all sold out on the first day.

I hope to make a girl's weekend out of the next one!
