NEW! Wee Are From Space March Multi Power Y Hitting US Stores

This just showed up in one of my SoCal product notices - the Wee Are From Space March Multi Print Power Y. Dang, it looks like I'll have to visit the stores this weekend.

Totally dislike this print. Waiting for dazzling tops, a define would be awesome for instance.

I've never been a fan of these two colors together at least not in equal amounts.

Purple and orange are complimentary colors, but....when you have equal amounts of each color the eye has to work too hard as it goes back and forth from one to the other. "color studies" have shown that these two colors provoke the highest disruption of calm, that's why you'll never see them in hotel rooms. It may be what you are feeling when you look at this pattern.

Separately I love them, and bought both the dazzling swiftly and crb, and the UV crops. And as I mentioned in uneven amounts and in a solid it's complimentary. I ended up wearing my UV crops with a black swan power Y to yoga and loved the combination.

Annon. 4:27 AM.... you're right I don't care for this pattern and yes, it's busy and makes the eyes work too hard...

I love this pattern! I think it's one of the best! have no idea what everyone is talking about here! The print is selling out in seconds at the store!

@ anon 4:27 am - fascinating about the color studies info. I am torn on the print in a tank, too. I wonder if that is why I'd prefer it in Wunder Unders since the print is below eye level. I like the Scoop neck version best since my eyes can "rest" on the black neckline of the tank. I think lulu should have used more black in conjunction with this print in tanks - like they did on the new run skirt.

@luluaddict- which SoCal store posted about this tank???

I am fascinated by the discussion of the colors, too. What color would potentially be more complimentary with purple, and what is less work for the eyes that could be paired with orange?

I'm still waiting impatiently for an ultraviolet CRB or Power Y or swiftly tank to hit my store.

I made the comment about the color combination earlier...

If you look at a color wheel, red, blue, yellow are primary, while purple, green and orange are secondary. Each color's compliment is the exact opposite...red/green, blue/orange, yellow/purple. (the indigo color looks killer with Dazzling!)

There have been many many studies on the effects certain colors have, and the fact that both purple and orange are secondary colors, and not true opposites, may have something to do with it.

Anyway, in design, whether it's fashion, interiors, or art, one should never use equal amounts of two or three colors, instead choosing one to be the predominant, and using the other (s) as an accent, as a "compliment".

Of course there are many many studies on the moods certain colors provoke, and only since there were so many comments on how this combination was disliked I thought I'd chime in on what I've learned in the past about those two colors in particular.

Like I mentioned, they are complimentary, and at first glance I like them, but in the long run I find them irritating myself. So many better color combos to come and so much more Lulu to buy and wear that I think I will pass on this one.

So interesting. Thanks for posting!

And I think I agree that I'll likely pass on these items, too...

Finally saw the pattern in person today, it's beautiful. Unfortunately there weren't CRBs or even headbands, so I have to wait.

I'm dying to see if they work this into scubas, Power Y or please lord a lively T.

Anon-1:34 great analysis. I got so caught up in the brighter/bolder colors that I almost forgot, as a light complected individual, that this print will look terrible on me. Fortunately, dazzling distracted me. Unfortunately, dazzling will look equally bad on me.

Well I received my dazzling swiftly this morning and I Love it! It may look bad on my light skin, but it is such a happy color...put simply, it makes me feel good.

And you are so right, more Lulu to buy in the future... I'll pass on this print.

I actually love this pattern! I bought the new run skirt in this pattern and I love it in the swiftly material - it seems to "move" because of the sheen on the fabric.

just bought some WUs tonight in this pattern. I didn't care for them in pictures and actually went in for the ultraviolet pair and came out with these. They're really nice in person and super soft.

I bought both, the Yin to You crop and WU crop in this print. Such a beautiful print, in real life. I would pair it with solid top, though I might be tempted to go with this Power Y with the Yin to You. The heathered black "skirt" will give it a good break and not a solid Wee Are From Space-top to bottom! :)
