Photos of the Latest

The black Wee Are From Space Combo Scuba. I really like this one.

The Deep Indigo Scuba (shown with Flash Wunder Unders). I saw this in the store the other day. It's like one of those salt and pepper slub scubas. I thought it was really pretty.

Shown with Fossil Power Dance tank
Transformation Wrap in Dune.

Interesting pattern combo - Coal/Fossil Wee Are From Space Define with the Heathered Ultraviolet Scoop Neck tank.

I like this combo - a lavender dusk Swiftly short sleeve tee and the We Are From Space Fossil Speed Shorts.

I'm thinking about getting the squeezable Amphipod handheld. I see lots of people running holding bottles. I don't know if I would get tired of holding it after awhile, though. My husband also said he has read criticism where people don't care for the sloshing when they are partially full but this one is so small maybe it won't be an issue.

Deep Breath Bra

I love this jacket when I see it in the photos. I need to try it on at the store but I don't think I'd get much use out of it. I think it's gorgeous, though.

Wunder Under pants with the Wee Are From Space Multi print waistband.

I haven't see a store photo of the front of the Fossil Wee Are From Space Scoop Neck show up yet.

She has the matching Fossil Wee Are From Space Headband on.
I really like the Coal/Fossil Wee Are From Space Define.

I hope I don't love this tank when I see it in the store. I am kind of out of lulu $ for the month.

A good photo showing the white/Fossil Wee Are From Space Chase Me Tank.

Looks like all the Ride On Blazers and pants (except black) have been pulled or are going to WMTM

@ anon 2:33am: my local store has so many, they could restock the website! actually, they have a ton of all of the ride on blazers, pants, crops, and shorts. it baffles me that the jackets and crops flew off the proverbial website shelves but my local store (in a ritzy suburb of Boston) can't get rid of them!
on a diff note, all the items posted by LLA were also in my local store. the flash WU are definitely BRIGHT!! and they reverse to a black waistband. even the educator didn't know that. the fossil define is really eye catching. i have to wonder, though, over time, if that what accent will get dingy over time. that's what really makes that jacket "pop". the new yogi tanks are not worth the $$ IMHO. they feel very thin and flimsy. i'll take a CRB anyday (preferably on sale!). the new speed shorts were meh...i don't see the need for the steep price increase but, who knows, the technology may be so new that it is costly to use vice stitching (or LLL is just going for a gimmick/money grab). anyways, i spent a good chunk of $$$ yesterday, but on older pieces that were all on sale--that's the only way i shop at LLL these days!

i just commented a few minutes ago...i wanted to also tell you all that my local store had the new ride on rain jackets in dazzling. my very first thought was the super-sized traffic cone hotel, "The Cozy Cone" in Disney's "Cars" movie. Size 2 or Size 12, the dazzling jacket is just hideous! from a functional standpoint: you got it--everyone will see you!! incidently, the dazzling material is overlayed on top of a black material. so, not shockingly bright, it looks almost dingy or dirty because of the darker backing. just weird...and headed straight to WMTM!

There is a pair of ebb and flow crops on the website in size 8 in light grey if anyone is looking for one.

I don't think the Ride on Blazers sold out on line. Thats not what I'm saying. They were there in all sizes except black. Now the Jacket and pants which were available in all sizes of Fossil and Denim are gone. I believe its a pull.....not selling I guess

Ott but what happened to the Good Karma Pullover? Did it suddenly sell out online?

Hmmm I wonder if some markdowns are on the way! You usually see items disappearing just before there's a markdown :) Fingers crossed! (Though if it's the bike commuter stuff I don't think there's much i'd be interested in, even on markdown!)

Momof5 said...

Usually when items are pulled that were close to full stock -- they end up in WMTM in a day or two -- so keep checking if you were interested in that item

I think I would buy the good karma on markdown, depends how much though. Does anyone have one? How does it fit? Thx!
OT- they had some flash WU online this morning but not my size. Boo.
I am sooooo excited bc I get to travel to a city this weekend that has a Lulu store!!!! Woooohooo! I live 4 hrs away from the nearest one. So it's an exciting weekend for me. And on a frustrating note, I ordered a surge swiftly ls last week. Received yesterday w/ a hole in the seam around the thumbhole. Really? Where's the quality control? C'mon lulu. I don't have the pleasure of living near a store to fix these things. Plus, I shouldn't have to fix a $68 shirt. Right?

whoa, the transformation wrap in sand dune is really see-through!

I have a [regular] 12 oz Amphipod Handheld and I love it. I am one of those people who really doesn't like sloshing (that's why I can't use a fuel belt) but this is great. I'm not sure I'd want to move to the bigger size because I'm afraid of the sloshing there but in the smaller size it's fabulous. I've used it up to 8 mi trail runs.

@Kristin 6:16am: There were a bunch of Good Karma Pullovers on markdown at my local store. Marked down to $44. It's a glorified cut off sweatshirt, but with the bottom hem finished off. Doesn't feel any different from any other cotton sweatshirt I own...but that LLL symbol jacks the price up 300% ;)

Just wanted to share my anger because I bought the SE flash speeds over the weekend. Wore them for a sweaty six mile run on monday, no bleeding. Wore them again just now for a four mile run. Got home, took them off, and they bled.

Thankfully I was running with just shorts and a sports bra, so the flash waistband just bled onto the shorts and not another shirt. But ughhh. Why do I spend so much $$ on Lulu just for it to have quality issues ): ):

Not after you blind them with dazzling brightness they won't . Lol. Just kidding I know a lot of people who like the dazzlIng. It's all good. I'm slowly realizing the prices going slightly higher each time something new is introduced. Why?!?

Anonymous said...

Ok, got my pair of flash WUs. Does anyone else find them to be really see thru? I have the white quiet stripe ones and they seem way thicker. Underwear shows thru and too thin to go without. I even tried them in a size bigger and smaller :(. Cute color, tho.

Lulu article on at the top of WSJ.com:

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303812904577295882632723066.html?mod=WSJ_hp_LEFTTopStories

It talks about the scarcity model, lack of discounting, and inflexible return policy (and a few other things).

thanks for the link! sad to think i'm one of those "fanatical shoppers" aka lulu puppet. oh well, haven't found another brand that makes feminine, useful, well-fitting workout gear. tried them all from athleta to zella:)

Anonymous said...

Ack, wish I could read the whole WSJ piece! Are some people forecasting some financial woes ahead for Lulu if they continue with the (frustrating, annoying, confounding) scarcity model, she asks hopefully.

Not a fan of the scarcity model, but it's done its job. I think I'm about tapped out on Lulu, to be honest. Keeping up with the constantly shifting products and colors is exhausting, and not being able to purchase the things that I do like while still getting a full night's sleep on Monday night is frustrating and disappointing. Not to mention the damage to my checking account! :) I love their clothing (what I can actually find and/or afford) but their business model is shady, and the more I think about it the more I'm just allowing myself to be taken advantage of by them. And ebay has gone rabid...has it always been this way? Items are showing up on there the day they are released for ridiculous prices. Huh...that's depressing. I think I need some chocolate!

The scarcity model s a big turn off for me. It actually has been saving me money. I live on the east coast, so I miss many newly loaded hot items online, and I'd rather workout after work than run to a lulu store. Since the stores in my area all have different stock, I need to run all over town to get what I want - I am sure that's the idea- to get you in more than one store. All this results in is e getting to a store when I can- if the item is gone, oh well. No way am I buying on eBay. So- lately everything I want is sold out- what a $$$ saver!

anon 6:25, thank you for sharing this article. It's something that I probably knew, and certainly felt, but what to do? I can say that I'm less and less interested in getting caught up in the frenzies, but that's because I've been collecting for 3 or 4 years now and I can afford to be pickier, only buying pieces and colors that really look good on me! I've purchased less this past 6 months for that reason along with colors and designs not to my tastes.

One of the good things about LLL's collections is that you can mix and match past pieces and colors, especially if you stay true to your own personal color palette.

Since the beginning of the year I have purchased more non LLL clothes, even treating myself to a Burberry anorak instead of wasting money on 3 or 4 LLL jackets that go out of style in 30 seconds, I instead chose to purchase a classic, and I like my new buying trend.

I bought a SS swiftly in Flash a few weeks ago, online when it came back for about 1 minute...when it arrived it had a snag in it...what to do, what to do? Knowing if I took it back I could never get another. It would have made me feel a little better about keeping it if the store would have offered even a 10% discount....but no. They looked like deers in a headlight. I couldn't believe it had come to that. Paying full price, and a high price at that, for damaged product...but I did....

what's wrong with this picture?

Bunch of loot added

The Ride On pants, shorts, blazer and Good Karma pullover on WMTM!

So get this (have to vent - super annoyed right now), even though I am only at day 11 for a return, it says I can't return the Ride On pants I got (I'm guessing bc they're in loot now)! It does not say anything about this in the return policy. I am not planning on buying them from loot. Honestly, I wouldn't be returning them at all as I love the pants, but the ones they shipped me are super tight in the waist (the ones I tried on in store and then didn't buy and regretted it, so ordered online) fit perfectly! So not only am I not trying to get them cheaper (which I should be able to even if I wanted to as it hasn't been 14 days) but it's a FIT CONSISTENCY ISSUE! Arggghhh, I will call tomorrow and debate this until they fix it!

Okay, thanks for having somewhere for me to vent on this new level of absurdness....

Anon @ 12:47am, the same thing happened to me with a CRB I bought that was moved to WMTM before my. I had no problem getting a refund of the price I paid within the return period, because obviously I didn't buy it on sale.

Going back to the scarcity model for a moment...

It may be good for the company for now. But I can't imagine it's good for the long run. I'm a relatively new customer to Lululemon, and this business model is quickly turning me off. I'm too tired to stay up all night waiting on an upload each week, and like others have mentioned, I can't haunt stores constantly and hope for the right items to show up. (We only have one store in our area anyway.) I would buy more if I could, but Lululemon makes it hard for me to do that, so I don't. And it sounds like I'm clearly not the only one who feels like this. I'm no economist but that doesn't sound like a good long-term business plan.

Maybe this is why Chip stepped down? You can only string people along for so long before they get sick of it and walk away?? Cute stuff or not, are the outrageous prices and aggravation worth it? Let me tell you, my money is HARD earned, is this really what I want to be doing with it?? Maybe it's time to start saving for things that are actually important in life? We tend to get so caught up in having the latest and greatest when it's really not as worthwhile as we allow them to make it seem....

Hi. to anon who bought the pants and were too tight in the waist....... I too love the commuter pants and was able to buy two pairs and wore one of them 3 days in a row last week. BUT I bought 2 different colors and one of them is snugger on me. If you look at the models you'll see they fit her differently sep on the color! the indigo and black seem to fit her looser then the fossil and the dune is waaaay toooo tight on her. So obviously there is def an inconsistency in their sizing. I would def call and demand a return. And point out to them that even on the web model some fit differently then others. If they had marked them down to 79 I would have bought a third pair, but not for 99. two pairs are enough.

@anon 12:47 AM
You should be able to return your pants that were bought at full price within the return period with no problem. Same thing happened to me, so I just buy another at the lower "loot" price and returned my full priced item before the two weeks end. Even if you are returning it online and it shows that the item is "Final Sale", just talk to an Educator and have her/him process it for you. Should be a non issue. :)

Thanks everyone for the feedback and encouragement on returning (I love this blog!)- I am going to call today as soon as I can from work! The indigo ones I tried on in store were loose on me in a 6 (which I liked, even tried on the 4, but waaaay tooo tight), but when I got the indigo 6 at home, they are just too snug. The black ones fit fine though. So inconsistency even within the same color! If I knew what I would get size-wise from loot, I'd buy more in every color! Have a fun day everyone!!!
