Upload - Some Interesting Items

One of the most talked about items on tonight's upload was the new Stuff Your Bra bra and SYB tank. Both have seven pockets to carry your stuff and the caption says: "We made this bra so we could have a place to easily access all our marathon paraphernalia on long runs. Seven pockets were specifically articulated to store your gels, keys and other items that are useful during training (and less embarrassing than tissue, rest assured)."

I'd like to hear from distance runners as to the viability of this idea. I can see using the pockets to carry some money or a tissue. I recently bought an armband for my phone so I can use the Map My Run app while I run but I would never shove my phone in my bra. I think it'd get too wet, for one thing. It'd look awful for another. As for my keys, I carry my remote with my car key so it's kind of bulky. I also prefer that to be locked up in a zipper pocket which is one reason I have been running in my luxtreme crops lately - they all have a zipper pocket. Lulu run hats also have a zipper pocket in them which is perfect for my keys. I will say I have a couple of older Deep V and Swift bras that had pockets for the skinny ipod nano in them that I loved:

You can see the pocket on the upper left - it has a little ipod picture on it
The pocket was in the upper part of the strap and not on your boob at all. I thought this pocket was a great idea and it worked well for my nano. Granted, it did get a bit wet in there when I used it but not too bad. I like the deep vertical pocket and the more out of the way position compared to those in the Stuff Your Bra. My latest nano has a clip so I don't need the pocket anymore.

Anyway, back to the Stuff Your Bra tank design. The bottom is made of the Jacquard Mesh which can be found on the black Run Wild Half Zip. I didn't think the material was as cool as circle mesh. I'm not sure about it compared to silverescent but I do want to try it on at the store. I really want run singlets that you can wear your own bra underneath.

Cute new Bliss Bag. Unfortunately, the US only got the black one not the Rose Quartz.

The new Daily Tank was uploaded. I probably would have ordered one if it had come in luxtreme since that is a favorite fabric of mine. However, I'll need to try this on in the store. I have a feeling these straps might not stay in place on me.

The Extra Long Cool Racerback was uploaded to Canada only. I know a lot of people are hoping it makes it to the US. It's on the US side now. I was hoping this would happen.

I liked the Blurred Blossom print in this photo but probably because it has a lot of purple in it. If I get a tank in this print, it'll be cherry-picked to have a lot of purple and green.

The mysterious pink Wee Are From space print has a name - Wee Are From Space White April Multi. I like it but it has potential to be a bit Ivivvish. I'll need to see how it's used in tanks.

So, what did you get? I am waiting for things to hit my local store to try it on before I buy so nothing for me tonight.

I ordered the daily tank in blurred blossom. I think the print is beautiful, and I think I can wear this other place than the gym.

"Wee Are From Space White April Multi"...Where do they comes up with these names? I get such a kick out of how silly some of the color names are, Haha.

Oh and I thought the "stuff your Bra tank" was ridiculous...but then again I don't run marathons. Aesthetically though...I laughed out loud.
Curious to see how it looks on a D-cup though, might be cute for yoga...but without any of that crap tucked in it;)

Kind of like this stuff your bra in the WAFSWAM, but it appears only Canada got it:( Oh well=$ saved for me.

Also has anyone reported how the It's a cinch dress is fitting?

Anonymous said...

I'm still waiting for lulu to upload the Swiftly headband in UV to the US side... it was uploaded on the Canadian site tonight. And the Bliss bag in Rose Quartz too, please!

Anonymous said...

I bought the blurred blossom power y (fingers crossed for good color distribution, bought the rose quartz travel to track jacket, and the Wee Are From Space Multi April headband. I loved that new bag in the rose quartz and the stuff your bra (unstuffed though) in another color looks interesting. Also hoping that top in the "what's new" banner is a rose quartz swiftly.

Boston bound here... that bra... LAME! A runner did not design that, guaranteed. If you really need to carry your phone and a big key thing get a belt. I try to run with as little as possible, for some reason I like to carry my phone in my hand even for long and sometimes I like to snap a quick photo. I do trim my keys down to just the key itself. But mostly our shorts or capris have enough pockets, I wear wristbands with tiny pockets, my keys go in there and some chapstick. That bra is funny!

Anonymous said...

The it's a cinch dress has a great fit and I love the length. At 5'7" it hits me mid-thigh. The fabric it's the same as the evry yogi's, so very soft. But as someone reviewed it on the website, it is not double layered, like the Every Yogi LS. That means it's thin, very thin for a "dress". Imagine the Every Yogi long tank, just a bit longer and with the cinch on the sides. I think it's a bit overpriced for wha you get. But I love the fit so I'm keeping the dazzling and today ordered the fossil.

Anonymous said...

Anyone know if you should size up in the extra long cool racerback if you are bottom heavy?

Kristina said...

Ok, I have run 4 marathons and I would never EVER use that bra!!

Anonymous said...

The XL Flash tank is there, you just have to click on the picture to get to the option...don't know why it's not on the front page.

I'm second thinking that tank anyway...that's a whole lotta Flash! And with the potential for bleeding wearing it with white pants?

As a distance runner, no way would I put anything stiff/poky (like a key) or electronic (iPod) in my bra. Access on the run would be awkward at best ("why is that woman fondling herself on the trail? Oh, she's trying to select a different playlist."). Not to mention chafing, poking holes in the fabric, looking lumpy, and shorting out the electronics due to sweat.
Agree with PP: just get a belt.

ENo said...

As a runner, I don't think that a bra with pockets is very functional BUT I do like the look of the style (with empty pockets haha). Seriously, I think it's cute!

Anonymous said...

Maybe I'm the only marathon runner to disagree, but I have been doing just this for years with my under armor wrap bras. My shuffle, my neatly folded tissues, my key (doesn't stick or put holes in the fabric), credit card, dollar bills- you name it (except large items like phones). I love this and I will probably get it in every color it comes in if it is comfortable. And yes, I wear a belt for my gels etc. I find it easier to access than a belt with a zipper (needs 2 hands). So many I'm fondling myself- I clip my shuffle so the button is outside the bra so everyone clearly knows what I'm doing.

Anonymous said...

I think the style of the stuff your bra tank is very cute too. There's no way I'd shove everything from my purse into it though. Kleenex maybe..that's about it! I love the rose quartz and am very tempted just to order it to try on.

Kristin said...

Agreed! As a distance runner, I wouldn't stick my phone or anything else in my bra. I get way too sweaty (live in Fl). I do like the style. Looks very supportive.

Anonymous said...

I guess I am the only marathon runner to disagree, but I have been doing exactly this with my Under Armor wrap bra for years. My neatly folded tissues, key, shuffle, money- and the key doesn't poke holes, I've never even noticed it. I like having my shuffle front and center and if it looks like I'm fondling myself, so be it! I ordered the tank and the bra...

Anonymous said...

allrighty, my thoughts as a marathoner - would not use the bra pockets (though I guess if I had nice enough abs where I could run in just a bra, I might)

HOWEVER - i will say that I'm one of those people who has a runny nose all year round while running or cycling so I think the bra and/or tank would be IDEAL for carrying my short stack of paper towels for that purpose. I don't always wear a cycling jersey that has back pockets so having the pockets closer to my upper body would be nice. I could see using these for cycling.

Anonymous said...

I agree with the other runners. I've logged several marathons, and necessity is key. You don't need a phone, key rings, etc. I personally try to bring a gu or two, and nothing else. That extra weight bouncing around your chest would get old after a mile.

I thought the style is cute (Stuff Your Bra tank), WITHOUT stuffing it. I actually ordered the rose quartz. The back reminded me of Cross My Heart tank, which is super comfortable. The rose quartz jaquard looks very pretty. Just noticed that the price for the tank is the same as the bra. May be an error on lulu's part (which is not the first time...). Had a feeling that the price of the tank will go up to $64.00. Get it now if you want one. Also ordered the Blurred Blossom Power Y. Here's hoping that the print distribution will be a good one! Also, I am hoping that we will see the Wee are From Space Deep Coal April Multi/Flash (whew! what a mouthful), will come in the Scoop Neck tank. That will be pretty. And as mentioned above, you can now see the Extra Long CRB in Flash. Order up! :)

Anonymous said...

Did the Wee are from Space April new bra sell out before I even woke up? LOL.

I really love the look of the Stuff Your Bra tank and bra but I would never in a million years use the pockets. Like has already been said...my bra gets say to wet to keep anything electronic in it and I chafe really bad under my armpits and around my bra line so I really would not want to add to that. I will stick with my fuel belt which can hold everything I need for my half marathons!

Anonymous said...

I am an avid distance runner and I love the idea. I run with my phone in my hand because I use my Nike+GPS and stick it in my bra whenever I need to fix my hair or do some lunges or need a break from holding it. It doesn't flip around or chafe or bug me at all. I'm very excited for this tank.

I also try to bring as little as possible but I ALWAYS run with my ID, for obvious reasons.. And I stick it in my bra anyways now it will just have a place. Great idea lulu!!!! Even though they can't please everyone on everything I'm really excited about this tank and bra

Anonymous said...

I agree anon 6:50. Though I'll never stuff the bra/tank as pictured I do put stuff in my bra quite often when running and never notice it. I think it's a brilliant idea. 7 pockets seems likes a bit much but for sure a phone and ID and key. I'll have to see how gu feels. Overall... Love it. Thank you lulu!

MonkeyGirl said...

@anon 4:03- I bought the flash Xlong CRB- I bought it TTS, as my other Xlong CRB fits TTS. I have hips and a bottom, so we'll see if it works!

I agree with another commentator that it's a whole lotta flash :) We'll see how it looks in person. If I do keep it, it will get a nice long soak before wearing. It looks like an item that could bleed.

I really wanted the bliss bag in rose quartz- but truth is I don't need the bag. It also looks larger than I may want. So $$ saved there :)

Anonymous said...

Also, I'm going to have to try this stuff on in the store. I'm intrigued by the Stuff Your Bra tank, but it reminds me of the Cross My Heart Tank and I had to size up in that one.

Anonymous said...

Lulu has pictures of me running in a power y bra with the pockets stuffed gull of gels. I am ldr and ultra runner. No waist bounce for me I carry hanhelds and gels in my shorts. Not sure if the bra will fit me but I ordered it.

Anonymous said...

Why, oh why, does the Daily Tank have a centre back seam, which looks terrible?! They could have done two side seams, and it would look so much nicer.

Anonymous said...

Hope they come out with the wristbands in Wee are From Space Deep Coal April Multi/Flash like they show in the banner on the Run Accessories page. Hope it come out soon before the La Jolla Half. Love the new print!!

The Stuff Your Bra tank in rose quartz is pretty. Doubt I'll really use the pockets (maybe just ID, key). Really don't need extra weight bouncing around up there. And, seriously, my smartphone is not going to fit in any of those pockets.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know if 'Flash' has bleeding issues similar to 'Paris Pink'? I am hoping to pick up the XLCRB but I'm worried about this. Thanks!

I think the stuff your bra is really cute! I'm a runner/ triathlete too - I've done several half marathons and am currently training for my first full marathon. Personally I don't love the idea of carrying everything I own in my bra, but I DO know a lot of runners who carry ID, Gu, lip gloss, iPod, etc in their bras! And for those runners, this bra would be perfect - it looks a lot more functional than stuffing things in the bra with no pockets, where it's rubbing against skin and getting soaked in sweat (and possibly chafing).

I think this is a really creative idea with distance runners in mind! It's not for everyone, but I know enough runners who carry things in their bras that I bet it will do well. Beside - it still works for someone who doesn't want to carry things in their bra and I love the mesh with the higher rise over the chest - there's nothing worse that bouncing when you run and not all sports bras have high enough rises to contain it all!! I love the look of this bra!

I am a retired full distance Ironman-er turned Ultramarathoner. In Ironman, they have a "no outside assistance" rule so I can't have a support crew. EVERYTHING has seemed to ride in my tatas over the yrs! I usually take a soft baggie and put a dose of my medication (some of my training outings are so long I will need it) and a backup gel. I also have always had trouble finding a place for my inhaler. Freaking asthma. I do wear the belt, but overflow goes to the bra. My shorter runs I bring my iPhone so that goes in my bra strap against my shoulder. Longer runs I just clip a shuffle there. I guess what I am saying is this bra is a stellar idea in theory. However, much like many tri-tanks with pockets, unless they have zippers stuff will most likey fall out with all the bouncing of running. The pockets on this bra look like they may be too shallow. For cycling, maybe...but in cycling you can just use a bento box. For me, I think I will stick to the baggie. ;)

Anonymous said...

That Stuff Your Bra photo with the iphone, tissue, etc sticking out cracks me up - it is so funny!

On another topic, I see that the guys' side got some items in Blue Tropics. What a beautiful color! I hope that the women's products come in Blue Tropics in the summer or something.

I ordered the blossom print headband. I've been wanting a new headband for a while and just waiting for a pattern I liked!

@ Anon 8:24

I was about to comment on that picture too! This model always seems to pose with a smile, but on this shot she looks anything but happy. Who would anyway, with all of those things stuffed in yout chest LOL

I like the tank and the bra. Think it's a great idea if you only use the less noticeable pockets and for non-bulky things, such a kleenex or money. Barely visible. Then it's a great tank.
I also think the pic with all pockets in action, it's just to show how much you can stuff in there, but doubt it is meant to use all pockets at once.

Anonymous said...

This is an example where lulu's scarcity strategy works against them. The runners I know who would use those bra pockets are practical people. They're not going to stay up until 2am, or hunt all over town for a bra. If they stumble onto one in a store, they expect to go back and buy more in a month or six.

Anonymous said...

um no, i'm not running with my ipad and kitchen sink coming out of my boobs. LOL that picture made my day!!! i did order the flash long CRB and the april wee whatevs slipless headband. i think they'd go well together. only spent $60 which is pretty good:)

omg is the bra a joke? sooo funny lol

Re: the SYB bra, I do like the multi-coloured version that they have out, but I would wear it on its own to Crossfit (outdoors, in the summer).

Word of caution regarding sweating around electronics: I killed an ipod nano 2 years ago by carrying it in the collarbone-height pocket of my sportsbra: headed out for my weekly long run (moderately long - about 90 min) and managed to drown the ipod in sweat. Serious stuff, peeps :)

@Anon 7:38,
I'm not sure about Flash bleeding on shirts, but I just bought the SE flash shorts and the waistband bled. So probably.

I'm waiting on an email back from the GEC so I can return them and get my money back.

I'm just not crazy about any of this stuff. Which is fine.

Actually, I was thinking I'd go ahead and get myself a pair of charcoal DSCs, but then I ran into a nearly identical pair of crops at the regular sporting goods store today for only $50. I snapped those up and will wait to see what else lulu comes out with soon. I'd like another Swiftly short sleeve shirt in a nice color....

the pic with the kleenex in the bra totally reminds me of my grandma who always kept a wad of tissue in hers for blowing her nose! thanks lulu for the chuckle :)

Can anyone tell me if the video clip for the Cool Racerback *Extra Long is a new color that has not hit the market or an old color...super cute...a heathered flash or paris pink maybe?

I was not temped by anything on the new upload, but did buy the Run: Shorty short, the Cross My Heart Bra, the Run: Swiftly Tech LS and the ultra violet CRB all today at my local store. I'm glad our store doesn't sell out quick :) there are still tons of Ride On Crops there too.

I'm disappointed that a tall version of the Wee are From Space pace setter hasn't come out. I like it way better than the flower print.

OT: anybody selling off used/new items on eBay and using Lululemon's photos from their website: BEWARE! LLL is now going after resellers--even you gals who are selling off unworn/old items that you no longer want/need--if LLL pics are being used as reference for fit/style purposes. eBay is cancelling auctions...so, please be aware of the current enforcement.

Anonymous said...

Anon 5:56 - so glad you said that! I looked at other listings for the same item I had cancelled today. And was like "why me? I'm only trying to recoup what I made, not gouge people!" :)

I thought the picture of the bra was a joke... like something from a Saturday Night Live skit or one of those magazines that come out during the holidays highlighting all those "spoofy" gifts. A cell phone in my bra, really?

Maybe they will finally get the eBay situation somewhat under control. As a Lulu customer who doesn't have a store near me, I sometimes grab a deal on eBay and I totally understand selling items to recoup cost, but price gouging is insane. I understand that temptation sometimes fogs common sense especially when we missed getting an item because it sold out so fast. But, I cant in good faith buy something above retail. Maybe it will teach Lulu to sell more items and maybe chill on the scarcity model they've been working. Wishful thinking on my part I guess!

I went overboard today! Started out with the "It's a Cinch Dress" (Fossil) with the upload this morning at 3am (couldn't sleep) - then stopped at the local store and grabbed a few things that were on sale ( a top, CRB, and Grooves) - then at lunchtime another stab at the website (Blur Blossom Flow-Y, Blur Blossom Daily Tank, and Flash Daily Bra) --- HELP ME!!

Well, I guess it's true that when it rains it pours. It's been a long drought for me. I stupidly bought and then returned indigo ebb and flow crops and have been patiently waiting for new dark colors ever since. I'm also hoping for v neck SS swiftlys and jackets that aren't too tight in the shoulders or too short/long in the torso. Oh, and sweaters that don't pill or leave lint all over your tops---that would be nice!

Might get the Bliss bag. It might work as a diaper bag, too. I need to check it out in person, though.

If you haven't, can you comment on flash color tones on previous versions in January ( I know CRB was heathered) and the ones which just came out.

I thought WUs are more pinkish when compared with the tone on NLT( more orange ). I am waiting for others to arrive: deep breath tank, ivivva tank, power Ys but didn't order X long CRB ( too many already, deciding on which one to return ). Oh ! one pant and the floral skirt ( so sure to return as I wanted T ).

Re: comments about ebay, I agree with you guys.
However, I don't know how else to get rid of items ( especially from loot ) that I ordered and don't fit due to their inconsistency in sizing. And ebay+ PP fees are about 15%. For me, I am happy if I can recoup the cost. Still bought some items I wish missed or later regret not buying. Recently, I paid the highest on flash NLT and deep breath tank, then the whole bunch came out !!!!

Re: eBay...eBay released a seller's update not too long ago about their upgrades to the picture functions of auctions. they have also dropped the ridiculous fees on pictures. so, my thinking is that, although eBay is pulling the auctions because LLL whipped out the ol' "copyright infringement" mantra (which, never seemed to bother them over the last 5+yrs), eBay is pushing their sellers to use their new picture gallery. in short, take REALLY good, accurate pics of your items, use eBay's photo editing tools, and hope for the best!!

my next worry is that LLL is going to go after sellers who use their (LLL) descriptions in the auction verbage...but they'd have to open over 9,000 auctions to check the verbage. hmmm...there's some job security for someone!

So, I am unclear, is it eBay or Lulu who addressing this photo issue? I hope it's Lulu, as that would indicate some awareness on their behalf...right?

And as for eBay, I have purchased items that I missed, but I have to tell you, from a purely buyers point of view my favorite sellers are the ones that offer the "best/make offer" option. I respect their time and product offering, so I never low ball the seller. I realize that some love the adrenalin rush of the auction format, I thought I did, until I realized that I was getting totally stressed during the last minute of the auctions... I mean my temperature would rise, my hands would get sweaty, the whole nine yards. Then I realized that I have enough stress in my life and would rather chug water, prior to bed, so I could guarantee a wake-up around
upload time:) Now I just have to try to break that habit...or maybe not;)

Could the green in the Blurred Blossom print be the "Blue Tropic" color that recently ran in the men's line? That, or a reboot of "Lagoon"...?

Anonymous said...

I don't usually sell new items on ebay unless they are new items that I just have never worn and they're months old and nobody on the lululemon exchange wants them but I do find that a lot of people try to low ball me. Its unfortunate because if they made me a fair offer I would definitely take it! But they often make the offer less appealing than just hanging onto the item and seeing if I wear it.

Anonymous said...

Anon 8:48 am-- alas I'm a 6 (or was pre-pregnancy)! I bounced back the first time and am hoping to do the same ;-)

I have made a few requests to join lulu exchange but to no avail.
For me, whatever I sell on ebay has the photo of real item since I was never able to figure out how to put theirs.
I agree with Focus, I now mostly buy from " Buy it now" as bidding in last few minutes is ridiculous. As a seller, still have to put the items for biddngx7 days due to lower fees.

Got my stuff tank in the mail today. Was really looking forward to it because I like to carry stuff in my bra during a long run. Huge miss for me! The fit is horrible. From a long time lulu wearer I am always a 4 and a 6 if it has a built in bra. This is sooooo uncomfortably tight around my chest. Plus it looks terrible as skin, muscle and fat spilled over the sides. Yuk! I noticed the model had a lump around her lats in the photo, should have been my clue.

@ anon 8:07 am - I 'm with you - the pockets look much too shallow to be secure. I can't trust anything as important as my car keys to a pocket that isn't able to be zipped shut.

LuluAddict said...

RE: ebay - from what I can tell lulu is going after people who use stock photos in their listings as VeRo violators. Use your own photo and you should be ok. It's always been eBay's rule that the photo used should be of the actual item for sale. Many people are lazy about taking their own photos (I have, also, on occasion)

Also, - do you runners really carry tissues with you? I have just been using my sleeve. My shirt is getting dirty anyway so wiping up a sniffle or two isn't going to matter. If I had a real cold I guess I might stuff one someplace but so far my shirt has sufficed.

Anonymous said...

Yes, I do carry tissue with me, but just one neatly folded and put away inside one of the two front pockets of lulu running skirts. Id it just for tissue, I would't buy this tank. I can esily use my running cuffs too.
