The fossil post power crops look so good on her but it sounds like I should stay away from tencel. Maybe if it ends up in Loot for $60...

I saw mats in menthol tonight at my local central coast store. Hoping we get tops in that color soon!

That woman makes me want to buy the Post Bliss Top and the Drishti pants too. Hmmmm...

I bought the drishti pants in white, they are so comfortable and elegant, I might get the black ones too! I tried on the chaturanga top and it is like getting into a straight jacket, then I couldn't get it off! I suggest going up a size or even two in it. Though I won't buy it because I like clothes that are easy on easy off!

Omg, that woman makes ME want that outfit too. She is rocking every outfit she's wearing! She should be a web model because her body type is perfect.

That woman is from my store and she is SO sweet and friendly and always looks awesome in everything she wears! If only I could pull off those looks!

@ Jennifer Halter
Please let her know that she looks awesome! And yes, I too, want to buy the Post Bliss tee and Drishti pants. Look so lovely on her, though I might just swim in these billowy garments! How are the fit on these items?

OT, some new items added to the loot. I snagged a Dance Strap tank fopr $39!

I picked up the Power Class tee yesterday. Debating if I should keep it though, as I am not sure how often I would wear it. I got it in the smallest size and it is so LOOSE in the stomach area!

Anonymous said...

Are we sure that is a swiftly SE tank instead of a racerback? The straps and arm pits look more like a racerback tank instead of a swiftly. If so, new color in the SE racerback?

Flash Boogie shorts are coming out? Has anyone seen these in stores?

Anonymous said...

I haven't seen them yet but they sold out online in a flash! I would prefer the boogie shorts! Over the other ones with strings in front! That girl in the boogie shorts and power tee looks amazing! Does anyone know if the boogie shorts are coming?!?!?!

Help I have concord grape overload! Can't decide if I should keep the crops run in the sun in the grape or jus go to basic black! Help!

Anonymous said...

Flash boogie shorts have already been online?

I just bought the Hot N Sweaty (with strings in front) in flash yesterday at my store but would like to see the boogie shorts too, to see which I prefer.

Anonymous said...

Yea it was soooo fast! I thought about it for a moment and they were gone! :( do u like the ones with the string??!?!?!

Anonymous said...

I really do like the Hot N Sweaty Flash shorts, I'll be happy with them even if I'm not able to track down the boogie shorts to try on as well.

I'm obsessed with Flash! So bright and vibrant. I'd love if they came out with Paris Pink Boogie shorts, I'd be all about those as well.

I've got a few PP and Flash items and haven't had issues with bleeding yet.

Same here! I got the scarf ! Omg i teetered on the idea and I love it soooooo much! Everyone says they love the color!

That woman in the fuel belt is brave to wear it w/ a swiftly!! I am soooo afraid to wear ANY kind of hydration pack, belt, etc w/ my swiftlys! The material just seems way too delicate for all that abrasion/movement. I am a distance runner and haven't worn any of my lulu tops for long runs/races in which I carry my own fuel/water. For all you running gals, do you wear belts w/ your lulu tops? Any pilling, damage? Thx for the input.

And yes, that educator looks AMAZING in the Drishti pants and Post bliss T. I want to try them on now!

I bought power class tee in black and concord grape.
I sized down (usually 6, but 4 for this one).

I know a lot of people have customer service issues with Lulu, so I just wanted to post this regarding one of their competitors, Athleta and the phenomenal service I got from them.

I was considering ordering the flash Dhanurasana crops but couldn't get past the brightness of them among other things (sheerness, etc) and I found a pair of similarly styled crops at Athleta (Chaturanga yoga knickers) in a plum looking (rosewood) color. Since I missed out on the plum WU crops, AND since Athleta has a great return policy (try them out! & love them or return), I decided to give them a go. When I called just to clarify that you really can try out the product & still return them (hoping they don't show sweat), I mentioned to the very friendly rep that I was bummed that the crops were $1 short of getting free shipping. The rep agreed that that was a bummer and offered to credit me back the $7 shipping charge as a courtesy once the product had already been shipped. That in, and of itself, was fantastic service because I totally was not expecting that. Today when I checked my email and got the shipping notice, I didn't see the $7 credited back to me. No biggie, but I called just to make sure I had understood correctly about how it would be issued back. I ended up getting the same girl, again so super friendly, and she apologized that I had to call back (though it was really no problem, technically I shouldn't have gotten that free shipping at all) so in addition to waiving the shipping cost, she also sent me a 15% off coupon for my next purchase at Athleta or that I can use at ON, Gap, BR or piperlime that can be used with any other on-going promotion.

I am hoping to love the crops that I ordered from Athleta and think that I might move some of my Lulu business over to a company that treats its customers with a bit more appreciation. On top of everything, those crops were also $30 less than the Dhanurasana's... Lulu should really open their eyes, more people are going to start finding other just as worthy alternatives and take their business elsewhere if they don't start shaping up.

Sorry that was so lengthy, but people are dropping a LOT of hard earned money with Lulu and getting unsatisfactory service (& products!!) way too often for it to be okay. And then there are places that give the experience that I just described above... soooo. I wanted to share.

I agree about Athleta having hands down the best customer service of all the women's athletic wear companies. It's night and day compared to Lulu. I'm lucky to live near a store so it's easy to return things there. They don't have many stores yet, though, so mailing things back might be an issue for most people. Hopefully that will change as the company grows. I still love Lulu stuff but wish the company would treat its customers with more courtesy.

I am an ultrarunner who wears lulu for all my long distance training and racing. My favorite is the swiftly and I wear them with packs and such. Never had an issue and I am wearing the pack for hours in all sorts of weather. Fact is, I have worn all sorts of brands and was a sponsored athlete and nothing has held up like my lulu gear. I have stuff that is 5+ years old and has been treated harshly and it still looks good.

Are the educators store employees? R and D are local instructors, correct? Still trying to define all the terminology.

In response to Kristin, I ran my first half marathon last fall, with my first lululemon purchase - the silver bullet tank I believe it was called, I wore a race belt, (it was a belt with a small pocket in front and you could attach your race number to the belt instea of pinning it) half the reason I wore it was so I wouldn't need to put safety pins into a 60$ tank, but the belt completely destroyed it, it snagged the fabric along the whole back half... It is pretty much completely destroyed. I would highly recomend being very careful with the silverescent(?) material...

Kristin: I run in my swiftlys with a fuel belt and I have had no snagging or pilling issues.

Becky: Agree 1000% that Athleta's customer service puts lululemon to shame. The majority of my running and yoga tights are Athleta due to the fact that they make petite lengths. The quality excellent and they are just a much better fit for me - WUs are too big on my knee/lower leg area in addition to being too long. It amazes me that lulu consistently ignores its petite and plus sized customers, but hey, I guess they don't really need all my money. LOL

A note of warning on the Swiftly SS Special Edition in Flash. The good news is that I just got this in store today and the embossed blossoms are gorgeous! The bad news is that the girl who rang me up cautioned me to soak before wearing so I just did and it's unbelievable how much dye is coming out of this shirt!!! I advise caution with all the new Flash items - the dye issue is alive and kicking.

I must say I question myself for spending so much money at a vendor who cares so little about me, its customer. I am turned off by Christine Day's "we are not Nordstrom's" remarks and the ongoing dye issues which should have been resolved months ago.

It's not just their customer service. They treat their employees poorly as well. Firing people for ridiculous reasons, changing benefits and discouts without letting people know in advance, making people share BEDS, not just rooms, BEDS on business trips. Can you imagine what guys would say if they had to share beds?

Anonymous said...

Athleta here I come!!!

I have run 5 marathons and done all my training in swiftlys. I too wear a race belt for my bib during races and a fuel belt for long runs. I have never once or torn or snagged a top.

I got some bananna smoothie on my brand new black run skirt. I decided to spot treat the stain in my sink with woolite and cold water. The skirt was in the sink for less than one minute and the water was the color of coffee. I couldn't believe how much dye was coming out of the skirt. I tossed it in the washer and now that it has dried it looks faded like it's been washed 25 times.

Wow, a lot of food for thought. I'm going to try Athleta. I was able to return (w/o receipt) my bleeding Paris pink bra, and I've stayed away from bleeding colors since (except pigment blue WU and bra, which didn't bleed badly.
There are 2 bitchy cashiers at my store who make me not want to shop there on the days they work. But there about 4 or 5 SUPER nice salespeople whom I like seeing. Genuinely nice, not kiss-up nice.
Can't believe they make their clerks sleep in the same beds. That ought to be illegal. Cheap!

Tried on the tame me tank tonight. It was TTS. Not special enough to buy, though.

I am anon@3:25pm with a Flash update. I've been soaking the Swiftly for 4 hours now and it's still bleeding! I'm keeping the top but I'll never take a chance on a color that comes with lulu's "disclaimer" again. All I can say is wow. Just wow.

Also to clarify about Athleta: you can basically order every pant on the site in multiple sizes, etc., take them running, and return what doesn't work. You go to the website and print out a prepaid return label, slap it on and send it back. Done. I think you pay $6 or $7 for the return but that doesn't bother me. Honestly if Athleta's tops were as cute as lulu's I'd never shop lulu again.

Thx ladies for your input about hydration belts/packs and swiftlys. I appreciate all your help! Keep Runnin!!!

OT--the Fashion Island lulu store had a pretty good sized markdown rack today. Lots of In Strides in aqua discover stripe, Apres run jackets in a couple of colors, tea lounge pants, ebb and flow tanks, etc. I got an every yogi tank in ultraviolet for $29 (it's still full price on the website).

Thanks, 8:34! Our MD were slim pickings yesterday, but maybe tomorrow it'll be better.

I am happy to read other people are finally seeing the light with Lululemon. They have the cute styles but the quality is not there on many of their items (colour bleeding, hand wash only cotton, multiple thread pulls on their sweaters) and the price keeps going up.

The company has a very arrogant attitude towards their customers, they know they are #1, and all this blind love from their customers is justing feeding this attitude. Where is the incentive to make better products when the masses continue to buy.

Bought a swiftly in flash yesterday and no way will I risk a hydration belt rubbing against that. While in the dressing room, I noticed one of the swiftly tees in grey that I was contemplating getting had the beginnings of a snag....must've come from someone's nails or something, but after seeing that and just from the obvious delicacy of the fabric, I wouldn't want to run the risk of friction rubbing against that fabric. JMO, but I will stick to my premium Nike dri-fits tanks, which have withstood years of abuse on long runs.

Anonymous said...

I don't understand why you would buy a swiftly if you think it is so gentle that you wouldn't risk your fuel belt rubbing against it? $58 or $68 for a shirt that you think is that fragile seems like a huge waste of money. I personally love my swiftlys, do not baby them anymore than my other work out wear from other stores and have never ever had any issues with pulling, snagging or holes but if I did start experiencing that I would just not buy them again. There are plenty of other stores that make good running shirts for under $50 that are good quality.

BLACK is bleeding?! Are you kidding me.

You know I love lulu and admit that though I have been buying it for 7 years I only really got "into" for the past 6 months. Now that I have way more lulu than I could ever hope to wear regularly I'm not really so into it anymore. I have decided that I'll buy a new tank if it’s a colour that I like but limit myself to one, two tanks if it’s a colour that I love. As for jackets and scubas, I will pick up one only if it will go with lots of colours and I don't have any other jackets in a similar colour. I have no more need for crops or pants unless they are very different looking from the norm. I am still letting myself buy as much running apparel as I want since I wear these clothes 5-6 days a week rain or shine. However, I have found that lately I am much more discerning of my running wear too and haven't bought much. They really seem to just be putting out colours that are the only a slightly different shade than past colours and none that I particularly loved to begin with. Pink mist is nearly identical to pink pig which was only out last year. Porcelaine blue is not all that dissimilar to rocksteady and pigment blue swiftlys and menthol is only a little darker than toothpaste. I could go on but I think you get the point.

Also, went to the gap and they had a gorgeous lime green rip off of the define jacket and a tank similar to the CRB (very soft) in a colour similar to concord. Both cheaper than lulu by a lot. I bought two of the razorback tanks and the lime green "define" for less than the price of a define before taxes!

I always wash my Lulu stuff in my HE washer on delicate with woolite/ cold water. I toss in one of those Shout Color Catcher sheets, it sucks up so much dye from Lulu products.
I love Lulu tops but for bottoms, I have been buying Zella from Nordstrom.

Focus said...

Speaking of colors. I'd love to see a comparison of the porcelain blue swiftly (when it hits the US) vs. Pigment blue swiftly. They seem like they might look similar to each other.

The snags are becoming a problem in their recent releases, the Mediation Pulllover (white) has snags on it already in the ribbing.

I refuse to pay top dollars for fragile items.

Anonymous said...

I am with the woman in the above post....Lulu for tops and Zella for bottoms. Their slim fit capri is the best.

Anonymous said...

Okay, I had to purchase the wee are from space run crops after seeing them on those models! Just ordered, thanks

Anonymous said...

I told one of the local Lulu salespeople that I was considering returning my white Recognition pants because I heard that fabric snags easily. She shrugged and said, "All of our fabrics snag easily." Well, thanks for the deterrent, lady.

Anonymous said...

I know you've posted about Zella in the past but I would like to say that they gave some very cute things out that I find preform much better with much better customer service. Go Zella!!

Fyi, Victoria's secret and nike both have awesome green bras for anyone like me who is looking for green. And they dont bleed:-)

I have been so annoyed about lulu's bleeding issues! I had to return my Aquamarine Switchback Shorts because they were bleeding BLACK! I soaked and soaked them and they kept bleeding, not to mention dulled the color quite a bit. Ruined a towel of mine during a bikram class when I wore them for the first time. Embarrassing and just weird! Also sad because I freakin loved those shorts!

Anyway, on the up side, my girls at the Glendale, ca store were so sweet and apologetic about it and let me return them without receipts or tags.

I wish they would figure this out.

Oh yes, anon 3:25 pm - The "we are not Nordstroms" quote from Day pissed the hell out of me. I think Christine Day is a shit CEO. She came from Starbucks. The only trick she has up her sleeve is growth through expansion. That is it. She doesn't give a shit about quality or the customer. I read recently on one of my boards that lulu designs go straight from paper to production. I cannot believe that is so but explains so many interesting ideas with poor execution.

Day likes to tout their in store experience (and idiot journalists buy that, too). Really? Is shopping at a lulu store that different from shopping at another nice, niche store? I thought the Athleta store was pretty fun to look around. Anthropologie is always interesting. I could care less about the manifesto and the store experience. What I care about is clothes that fit me well and fabrics that feel nice against my skin and breathe. Lulu also has a lot of nice design features - gussets in ALL their pants. That's kind of hard to beat. Flat seams everywhere - that is also another feature that is hard to give up when you get used to it. Their pants also have wide waistbands that don't dig into your belly, again another nice featured. More importantly, the fit is really good. I've tried a lot of other brands - Zobha, Beyond Yoga, Maragarita, Athleta, Lucy, Adidas, Nike, etc. and the fit is just not there and that's why I've been buying lulu for four plus years now. I also like a lot of their fabrics because they feel nice and breathe well. I will say that lately, I don't like the scratchy cool racerbacks that have come out (the ribbed ones and some of the new heathered ones - concord) and I am not crazy about jacquard mesh (feels hot) so if the fabrics continue to get cheaper and cheaper I won't buy.

I'll also say that I've noticed Nike has come out with some running luon-type fabric that felt really nice in the store. Lulu's competitors are definitely catching up. Right now lulu is winning on features but I notice a lot more companies offer cuffins, thumbholes, zipper pockets, etc.

The bleeding issue is so ridiculous because lulu used to make bright colored nylon clothes that didn't bleed. I've read that the manufacturing process has changed to a cheaper way but I would think lulu would have the clout to demand their fabrics be made under the old process. A lot of athletic companies use polyester which holds color much better but it often doesn't feel as nice, is hotter, and retains odor. Anyway, lulu needs to get to work. The bleeding problem is just ridiculous.

I'm so disappointed that flash swiftly racerback is orangey in person. My flash jacquared speed shorts look like cool toned pink next to it.

Can someone pls report back support level comparison for chaturanga & stuff your bra tanks?? I have the latter and love it to death. It's TTS for me. I pray for one in porcelain blue!!!

I love zella leggings, too! The fit is awesome and they are cheaper than WU's.
