Tonight's Upload (& Why the EFF Are Bikini TOPS Final Sale?)

I was going to order a few things tonight but then I saw that the bikini TOPS are final sale. I decided to get just the beachy floral bangbuster headband because I was so annoyed. I'll make the call on the Porcelaine Wee Stripe Every Yogi Tank/Tee when I see it in the store. I was tempted to order the Flash Race Tech top but after a woman sent me photos of her Tame Me Tank melting all over her (shorts, sneakers, Nathan belt, sneakers) when she ran the Boston Marathon (that post is in the works) I am boycotting all Flash.

What did you all order tonight?

Some new banners were uploaded that give hints of things to come:
Mystery zipper tank. Looks like the old Zip UR Whisper in front and Cool Racerback in back.

Mystery Halter shown with Porcelaine Wunder Unders.

Bright florescent yellow tank.

New Run Dress

New Mesh Run Jacket

It looks like the Sun Blocker tops are coming back this summer.

Porcelain define, porcelain bangbuster, and heather fossil wonder unders for me tonight.

I was really hoping we might see more concord grape (a bliss bag would have been super cute!). The new menthol bliss bag is pretty.. ick. I'll save my judgements for when people upload pictures I guess.

I'm sad because I have a GC on the way from a few returns I made, and I was saving it for a rose quartz bliss bag, but they literally sold out earlier today ):

BTW, really strange disclosure notice on all swim wear tops (Are Final sale)--- WHY? I would think the bottoms of all swim wear would be final sale, duh! Because of the actual intimate nature of trying on pants/bottoms/panties/etc are more risky than a top. That's lame.... don't you think?

Just a couple of things: beachy floral porcelaine Scoop Neck and the beachy floral white fossil WU crop. The beachy floral WU crop will be an interesting buy as it depends on the print placement. Wouldn't want one with the big flower on each cheek!!!

The swim line looks cute and wearable for me (I'm a size 2-4 and an A cup), but I'm not ordering it online due to the "final sale" nature in this category. Will try them on if I make it to a store.

Wunder Unders in wee flash and fossil beachy print, Every Yogi tee in porcelain blue, Centered energy bra in flash and porcelain, Daily Tank in porcelain, and a Pranaya bra in UV, one of the most flattering bras on my 34B chest. Will wait for reviews on the swimsuit line before ordering online. Trying on is not an option for me. I'm in Europe.

Oh boy what a strange tune that plays in the video shown under the Hello Sunshine link! I'm guessing all the women in it are educators and ambassadors in South Beach... They look ohh beautifully sun kissed and very much flat chested.

Ended up with nothing. Waiting for the Porclaine WU
I was hoping for some serious wee are from space stuff =D I've been collecting WAFS love it!

I could be wrong but, I'm pretty sure that all swimwear in Canada is final sale (except board shorts). I don't remember any swimwear in recent years that didn't have final sale stamped onto the reciept.

With that said I am really cheap (other than when it comes to Lululemon), and it's entirely possible that every piece of swimwear that I've bought in the past few years has been on clearance as well...

Amanda said...

And as for my addiction to flash...

I have only had a problems with the luon stuff, most specifically the power y bra from the first flash run. My shorts with the jacquaird (sp?) stuff on them didn't even make the water pink when I washed them.

Obviously I won't deny that other people are having massive issues with flash... I will have to see what happens when I wear it while I am really making the effort to work up a sweat. I don't want to imagine myself covered in pink ink...

What is that large polka dot print on the CRB the woman is wearing under that red/pink mesh run jacket!?!?

I ordered porcelaine swiftlies-- LS and RB because I seem to always grab those out of my closet. And both bang busters. LOVE those! And, lastly, I ordered another Daily Bra. Suprisingly, it is one of my favorites. By the by, I have NO chest.

Where is the WMTM page?

Just ordered the Porcelaine Bang Buster, Porcelaine CRB, Will Pant (in black) and the Porcelaine Vinyasa Scarf....LOVE the new blue color, not super summery, but I like it because it will transition well to fall.

Not impressed with the swimwear and agree that the "final sale" deal is odd, something is up with that.

Thanks for all the great posts, love keeping up with your blog!

I don't understand the Flash problem because this comes up a lot. I suppose it depends on which item is Flash, meaning which material. My Flash scoop neck has never never ever bled on anything!! I use it for very sweaty adventures- hiking (worn it for a serious hike over 5hrs), gym sessions, yoga, just wearing it for fun, and no problems at all. It doesn't even bleed on the bra cups. My Paris Pink however . . . .it bleeds on me, on the bra cups, on the heathered grey (it's the run your heart out tank).

Anonymous said...

I ordered the No limits tank in porcelaine, CRB in porcelaine, Race Tech tank in Flash, Groove pants in porcelaine, WU in wee flash, 2 headbands.
I was really hoping the Tame Me tank would have been uploaded in porcelaine but only rose quartz was added.
I think I might be returning the Groove pants now that I see porcelaine WU crops are coming in the future.
The swimsuits look cute but I could only see myself getting the board shorts and I'm not loving the fold over waist band.
I was tempted by the Porcelaine Define but passed because it's heathered.
And I passed on the Every Yogi Tee, that giant box of white stitching on the back , ehhh.

Looking forward to that yellow and then the red jacket...

Really no one should be surprised or annoyed with Final sale on swimwear it is for hygenic reasons!!Duh!

Anonymous said...

Swim wear in Canada isn't final sale. You can ALWAYS return bikini tops if the tags are still attached. And you can actually return bikini bottoms as long as the long sticker along the crotch is still intact. Once you remove that it is unreturnable.

Anonymous said...

I don't predict annnyyything selling out from this upload. I was hoping for more WAFS myself.

Anonymous said...

I hope we still get WAFS WUs in April and May colors. That flash one isn't doing it for me.

Anonymous said...

Not sure what the consumer laws are regarding returns on swimwear as I have sometimes been told final sale and other times been allowed to return. Can't see the difference between a swim top and a bra top though.

Not at all interested in swimwear unless it is actually suitable for swim workouts which this is definitely not. What I really wanted was a Flashback Pullover and it's not there ) : hope that doesn't mean it's not coming, I'm in Europe so have to order online.

Focus said...

Just headbands for me...whew! Had porcelain grooves and boogies in my basket, but then remembered I REALLY want the porcelain beachy speeds. And when I saw the porcelain WU's in the banner, the grooves became an easy pass.

After seeing all the swimwear photos yesterday, I was sure this would be an easy pass, but I must admit, after seeing the swimwear upload, I am slightly intiqued. I think I may try some pieces on if it makes it to my store.

Anonymous said...

I've ordered 5 bikinis in the past week- from Vix, Nordstrom, Victorias Secret, and Everything But Water. Every single one of them was returnable. I actually only kept one of them. Final sale on web order swimwear- that you don't have the opportunity to try on first- is ridiculous.

Anonymous said...

Anon 4:27: Not really getting your swimwear final sale DUH comment - why exactly is it DUH that a bikini top shouldn't be returnable with tags still on when a bra can? I'm not seeing the difference, perhaps you could enlighten us since it's SO clear to you.

It's the Final Sale thing that's stopping me from ordering a bikini. Obviously I understand that the bottoms must be final sale for hygenic reasons, but why the top? I would order one, but I'm not near a store and if it doesn't fit then I'm SOL. I can't even order 2 and return the one that's too big/ small. Frustrating.

Kristin said...

I am still frustrated by the final sale issue. I don't live near a store (4hrs +) and would like to try some pieces on. But, NO WAY w/ the rigid return policy. As Anon 5:28am stated, many companies accept returns of swimwear ordered on-line. I refuse to order swimwear w/o an option to return. Well, Lulu won't be getting my cash for their swimwear line. Oh well, their loss. I am very curious to see how it sells on-line. I am anxious to see the reviews on the products.

Didn't order anything today. Kinda a boring upload. I do like the wu. If they were porcelain, I'd order them.

Momof5 said...

Every bathing suit I have ordered online has been returnable -- Victorias Secret, JCREW, Gap, Athleta,Nordstrom, Macy's -- NEVER had a problem returning -- isnt that what the hygenic liner is for?

Why would they not include cup pockets on bathing suits of all things --if we dont want nipple exposure while working out - suddenly we want it when soaking wet in light colors?

Looks like Im the only one who took the "plunge" and ordered swimwear:) I think it looks very cute AND functional, not that I'm going to be swimming a triathalon or anything. I picked up the rash guard in black and the triangle top in black/beachy and bottoms (not the boyshorts) and the board shorts in the same. I just hope I got the sizing right, but there is always Ebay! And the rash guard and board shorts are returnable. I agree that it is ridiculous that it is not returnable, I just couldn't pass :)

Calling all flash addicts! Doesn't anyone else thing the wee stripe flash dune color is sooooo pretty! Omg! Love it! And I can't understand why anyone would buy that dress! Ugh! Looks like you have to size up! I got the wu crops a headband

Anonymous said...

Flash addict here...Guess it depends, like a previous poster said, on what item/fabric component in Flash you get. I got the Flash in the Swiftly tee, have worn and washed it four times and have had no issues with bleeding.

Odd Jessica said...

Got both bang busters! The swim collection is crazy. There are a million cute and functional suits out there, and these are neither that cute OR functional. No boob coverage and lots of booty hanging out. Have you guys ever checked out malia mills swimwear? Amazing! And real women for models.

Anonymous said...

I have a flash free to be bra, vinyasa scarf, crb and power y. The only bleeding I got was slightly on the power y - the inner lining of the bra. I wore the power y to ashtanga and used a white towel on my mat to see if I could capture any more bleeding issues. Nada. That being said, I think I have enough flash items ;)

I think the swimsuits are cute and the models look great. I just doubt I'd buy one as I'm from Australia and we're spoilt for choice here.

I ordered way to much including the last pair of the porcelaine beach floral grooves (US side). Im heading to my local store today to try on the swim wear - looks cute - but Im not risking final sale :)

Was hoping for the Porcelaine Tame Me Tank to be uploaded. Was also hoping about the Flashback pullover since the 4s sold out so fast in stores. I doubt I can wear my actual size 4, since everything I've read says size down. Too bad, I think it's super cute.

I hesitated on the Bang Buster (in Porcelaine) and now they're both sold out. I'm trying to behave and not go to the store, gas money is killing me going each week since it's about an hour one way.

LLA-- I'm anxiously awaiting the Flash Tame Me Tank meltdown post. I returned that exact tank for the No Limit but am still debating whether or not to return it. So any further info about Flash would be helpful. I don't own anything else in Flash so no personal input there.

Anon 6:02 I am with you! Let's face it, if it doesn't fit we can probably sell it for retail on eBay. Never a huge risk buying lulu stuff. I am screwed. Maybe it is my love for Hawaii, but I am digging these colors and prints. I got the boy short bottom (which looks more Brazilian cut to me) with 2 diff tops. The triangle one (which could be trouble with dd's) and the athletic one. I also got the matching board short and the menthol bliss bag. I looooove blues and greens. SO, if you didn't like what you saw today find me on eBay as I seriously need to sell some stuff to pay off the secret lulu card that took a hit today! Ps- did they not upload the beachy porcelaine speed shorts? Or did I miss them from over sleeping?

anon 5:14 I will spell it out for you HYGENGIC REASONS! who wants to buy and bathing suit when it has been tried on by someone else without underwear, I highly doubt people would try it on with underwear at home.

@LLA when I was in the store last week, an educator brought in her Flash tame me tank after she had washed it and the coloring was totally different than the ones hanging on the wall...seams were faded, bra portion looked red instead of flash...little black dots in spots from bleeding/fading/who knows. They were telling everyone in store--if you have any problems with Flash, just bring it back. I wonder if they will end up pulling all the Flash stuff like they did the Paris Pink.

Anonymous said...

Just a tip to aviod flash bleeding issues: pour 1/4 cup of vinegar into your wash with the item. it traps the color.

I ordered the flash tame me tank and I did this on the first wash and have had no issues.

For all the ladies that ordered or will try on the swimwear....can u please give us a fit report??? Thx a bunch. I don't live near a store and would live to hear your opinions!!! Thx!

Ordered the Porcelaine No Limit and Centered Energy Bra. Also the Porcelaine / Beachy ultra shorts. But now I'm thinking I should have the Boars Shorts instead...or waited for the Speeds. Also waiting for the Porcelaine Tame Me Tank!! And the new colours of Inspires. Nothing new in WMTM on the Canadian side.

Anonymous said...

Anon 8:43 - so then all sports bras and shorts should also be final sale in your eyes? You are quite rude.

Anonymous said...

Just the Porcelaine Bang Buster. For some reason that's the only headband that stays on my head! And it looks gorgeous on the brunette hair of the model (I'm a brunette also).

Can anyone provide more info about the Sun Blocker tops? Does it have tech in it to block UV rays?! If so I'm intrigued!! I'll be buying one for myself and my mother (she's afraid of the sun). Any info would be appreciated. Thanks ladies!

Anonymous said...

The point is, no matter what, you’re likely wearing something someone else tried on- gross or not! Hygienic or non-hygienic! The only way Lulu could get around this is eliminate the option for customers to even try the swim pieces on in store, which will probably be their next move.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 9:16 am - LOL

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 8:45 am - Wow - the entire tank changed color? Interesting.

Lulu comped the Boston Marathon woman the cost of her sneakers, socks, and Nathan Run belt. They also comped her the price of the Tame Me Tank, Speed Shorts (had a Flash waistband), and gave her an additional tank for free so they did right by her, quickly and without question. However, it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Anonymous said...

I really sit the fence on this no return policy...at least for the bottoms. If someone tries on in the store, they are going into the fitting room, trying it on and taking it off fairly quickly. If someone buys it online and tries it on at home, they may decide to wear it around a bit to see how it wears, if it stretches, etc. it kind of Icks me out even knowing its been tried on in the store so to think someone could of been lounging around in it is just eww. Just my two cents, so while it's a pita, it also makes me feel better :)

Anonymous said...

Every online swim store in the US allows you to return swimwear as long as unused and all tags and hygienic liners are still in place.

I find this to be another silly Lulu way of not letting you return a purchased item.

I'm a swimmer and a suit really has to fit perfectly and stay in place before you get into a pool and swim seriously. So, you do have to try it on, nothing to do with size listed.

I am a size 2 so will not be purchasing any Lulu swimwear. The only things that look like they could have been passible for lap swimming were the Heatwave series, but the top has a single strap in the back which may very likely make your regular size too loose and unsupportive; hence must be tried on before a final decision to keep.

All the Lulu swimline appears to be for the beach, so not too bad for me to pass. Can find wonderful two-pieces that stay snug, retain color and resist chlorine at swimoutlet or swimtowin.

Sorry ladies, but I disagree about the hygiene issue, even though I understand.

OH HECK FREAKING YAY FOR SUNBLOCKERS COMING BACK!!!!!!!! (yes, warrants all caps...my number 1 go-to lunch-run top).

Anonymous said...

Let's face it,we have no idea what people are doing when they try stuff on at home...they might try on shorts or pants with no undies and then return them...at least the swimwear should come with a hygenic liner!

Anonymous said...

1. the bottoms are reversible so there's no hygenic try-on liner. Think about THAT if you try them on.
2. the way the bottom hem puffs on the porcelain WUs makes me think that they are reversible WUs. Which bums me out because I think I'd rather have regular WUs unless it reverses to something awesome like beachy floral.

Anonymous said...

What in the world happened to the WMTM page? It disappeared two days ago. Can someone explain?

Anonymous said...

Totally agree with anon 9:45 am. I have ordered tons of swimwear from other companies and it has always been returnable. Athleta will even accept swimwear returns after you have worn it in the water, no questions asked. I only try on swimwear with panties on underneath in case someone tried them on before me, and I always, always wash my swimwear before wear. On another note, tons of people (not me) do not wear panties with their lulu. So who knows if the wunder unders or whatever you have boughten has been tried on commando before.

Also, the swimwear looks cheap and flimsy. As a mom who hangs out at the pool with her kids, I like a bikini top that has a slight amount of padding so it does not look like I am smuggling raisins. Also I like bikini bottoms in which my butt cheeks do not hang out the bottom.

Anonymous said...

anon 11:05 - smuggling raisins - love it!!! lol

Just a comment on the flash. I also ran the Boston Marathon but had the run a marathon Singlet in flash ( which there were many on the course that day). I actually fully expected it to run since i had not prewashed it, the weather that day was 90 degress which is unheard of in Boston for April so i had run out the day before to purchase the tank since it is so light weight. It did not run at all and i loved the top. It is now one of my favorite pieces and i get lots of compliments on it.

bought a ton of swimwear today at my local store.

fit report (just a note i wear a size 6 in LLL):

the monokini is very short-waisted and i'm 5'2'' with not a long trunk and it made me look wide in the middle. only tried on the sz 6 and didn't look good on me so i didn't try to size up and try on an 8.

the board shorts are funky - the rollover part is really long/wide and so it's going to bunch up like in the photo on the LLL site of the woman doing chaturanga on the paddle board. they are reversible so no liner so you really can't wear them as a swim bottom without a bikini bottom underneath.

the wave ride bikini top is a bit of a challenge to get into b/c of the string, and it's tiny on top (like an arise bra) so i sized up to an 8 to get a bit more coverage. cute but in the pink reversible (flash/light pink combo) i didn't like the bright pink loops on the straps when reversed (for the hook) - the website doesn't have this color combo to see what i mean.

the heatwave swim bottom is a typical bikini bottom. okay coverage on the butt. fit true to size.

i did not try on the heatwave swim racer top b/c i don't like to pull bikini tops over my head.

i ended up purchasing the heatwave bikini top in both the black reversible and the white reversible. i sized up to an 8 to get more coverage. the fabric layers are thick enough for the white that i don't think i'll have see-through issues when wet.

i also bought the wave ride boyshorts to match. with the waist rolled down it will be very skimpy in coverage (barely covering the butt crack and anything else in front). i won't be rolling down the waist, which means when i wear them with the floral side showing, i don't know what to do with the strings and i guess will tuck them into the back of the bottom? we'll see how that works when wet and if it will look all lumpy and if i will end up removing the strings. when wearing the black side and the white side the strings are cute.

i bought the wave board shorts in size 6 in both the black reversible and the white reversible and also another pair in size 4 in the white reversible. the size 6 fit well but when white i felt like it was a bit wrinkly and in the size 4 it was very smooth without being too tight.

i also bought the one love rashguard in the white with blue floral in size 6. fit true to size, not too short in the torso.

all in all a positive swimsuit shopping experience. i think the swimwear is well-priced compared to what else is out there.

Customer: WMTM USA section missing? When will it be back up?

Adrienne: We are currently experiencing a system glitch where the US side of our website isn't showing correct markdown prices. We have taken down the We Made Too Much Section on the US website until we fix it. Don't worry--it won't be gone forever!

Adrienne: You will still be able to browse the Canadian side of the We Made Too Much site, but if you'd like to place an order, please reach out to us so we can confirm the availability of inventory for you on the US site. I actually find that ALL of the lulu swimwear bottoms have too much coverage, but I understand they are meant for active wear in the water (surfing) or on the beach (volleyball), rather than just lounging or dipping. The best swimwear in the world, in my opinion, comes from Brazil.

yogibabe said...

@anon 11:05 AM
LOL!!! On the "smuggling raisin" bit. Too true! So, the moral of the story is, no matter what bottom you buy in the store, try it on with undies. If you buy it, make sure to wash it before wearing, as you never know if any "commandoes" had a go at it before you!

Anonymous said...

I think the swimwear being all final sale is lulu's way of not worrying about having it left over once fall stock moves it ( ie, to get it off the shelves and keep it of the shelves.

I have also heard they are changing their sizing system to the xs-xlg rather than a numeretical system. With this the fate of size 12 is apparently unknown.

Anonymous said...

I'm new to this site- LOVE IT.
I checked out the swimwear in store today, and it's pretty bad. The tops are flimsy and not lined or anything. No cups! I have the chest of a 12 year old boy, so I definitely like to have some help in the padding department, plus I don't like the nipple look. I am super disappointed-- I was hoping for bright colors and the nice-fitting tops I expect from Lulu. Truly, the reversibility is not worth sacrificing coverage. just my opinion.

Anonymous said...

I didn't get anything. Wallet has been safe two weeks in a row.

Anonymous said...

I will *hate*it if they stop numerical sizing. I love LLL for that reason. If they switch to xs-xl well then I can switch to Zella or Nike.

Lulu is quickly going downhill.

Anonymous said...

oh! I also tried on the beachy grey print wunder unders, and I was wearing purple undies...and you could see EVERY detail of my underwear. When I bent over you could see right through the pants-- yikes. Don't they test these prints before going into production? I didn't try sizing up, but I wouldn't want to....I wear my Lulu for crossfit, and I wouldn't want to be yanking the waist back up.

Anonymous said...

Ugh...is that true they are changing their sizing to xs-Xl? Oh no...I like the exactness of sizing they have currently. Bad lulu day...my $ is safe this week.

Anonymous said...

So fun to read all of the comments...still chuckling about the smuggling of raisins.

I had an experience last week where, in my local Lulu store, they were allowing a customer who had obviously just been to a workout, to try on clothing. In my book, that's just as bad as trying on swimwear with no panties...just plain gross. Sorry, but if your hair is still sweaty 1" away from your skull, you should NOT be trying on clothing. Could not be happier that I am not her size!

Anonymous said...

@anon 4:37 if you look closely at the pics online you can see that the be achy print is see through!!! I have a feeling there are going tot be a lot of angry lulu customers when they receive these WUs. If you can even see through even in the pics online you know there is a serious problem!!

on another note I thought the flash/dune WUs are adorable!! But am so hesitant because of bleeding issues. I only own 1 flash item because I dread bleeding issues. It's a CRB which is heathered. I washed it until the water ran clear prior to wearing it so I never experienced bleeding issues while wearing it. But if a heathered flash can bleed I can't even imagine a non-heathered flash item. So I'm on the fence and don't know what to do. Anyone else order them? I'm shocked they didn't sell through yet. I wonder if lulu customers are taking a stand against bleeding colors...

Anonymous said...

Did anyone else notice on the shipping confirmation email in the blurb about final sale it says "...... one piece swimsuits and swim bottoms"

I wonder if originally the swim tops were going to returnable.

Naomi said...

Ordered the flash/dune WU today, and got a cancelation email tonight. Went to Lulu's website and they have my size as still available. Huh?

Anonymous said...

I see this all the time as an educator - there is nothing we can do other than remind them they can try on at home and return. Often we have to literally throw clothes out because people try them on coming from the gym or with bad BO. I'm sure that doesn't help prices either...

Anonymous said...

I tried on the beachy WU today and they are a little see through but the material isn't very soft so that is a definate no go for me. I would rather stick with black and get a beachy tank. Maybe I am a little conservative and don't like a lot of attention when I am working out/running. They had the maxis, totes and board shorts. Shorts are actually cute and nice material but too short for me. Tote I could go either way, kinda cool with the snap inside canvas bag. Oh they had the new inspire crops, almost got those with the mesh on the back calf. Those are cute! But nothing for me today....

Anonymous said...

Is it me or do a lot of Lulu materials seem to be on the thin/sheer side lately? I bought the WAFS April CRB last week in a store with dim lighting and when I tried it on at home, I couldn't believe how sheer it was. I always wear a black arise bra underneath my CRBs and even with my lighter color items have never been able to see the bra. What's going on Lulu??

Anonymous said...

Do you think the yellow tank might be wild lime? It came out for a second with the first batch of flash?

LuluAddict said...

@ anon May 1 4:13 pm - I am kind of shocked they'd get rid of their size system. That totally cheapens the brand in my opinion. It's one of their big selling points, the fact that they have sizes like that.

@ anon May 2 2:08 pm - I think most of the Scoop Neck tanks I've tried on lately have felt very thin and sheer. The Power Y tanks and CRBs not so much be most definitely in the scoop necks. However, I would say some of the CRBs have felt a lot cheaper to me, maybe not thin but scratchier.

@ anon May 1 11:05 am - LOL on the smuggling raisins image.
