Swimwear When Wet

A couple of rare photos of some of the swimwear when wet. I know I've read comments that speculate the swimwear gets pretty sheer when wet.

A rare photo of the Heathered Deep Navy Flashback Pullover.

I live in Canada and still no heathered navy flashbacks yet ..... Deep coal came two weeks ago and the "educators" say they have no idea - I hope they come as Ive been hoping to get my hands on be since I saw them here

Anonymous said...

I'm in Canada too and have been hunting for the heathered navy flashbacks. I've called around to all the GTA lululemon stores and nothing, just deep coal. One store rep said that Canada gets all the styles, so it will make it here eventually!

Just heard the flash swimwear was recalled for being see through when wet!!! How did they not test this stuff first?! Riiiiiidiculous. Losing my lulu love more n more every day...

Anonymous said...

I heard that too. Let's take the color that has bleeding issues when wet and make a swimsuit out of it. Good grief.

Anonymous said...

Wow, that rashguard is TOTALLY see through. Yikes.

RunItMyWay said...

Seriously?? Do they actually do ANY product testing before it hits the store shelves?!

Anonymous said...

The flash swim wear is still available online, where did you hear it was recalled? All this negativity towards Lululemon on here is making me not even want to come to this website anymore! If you don't like what is being offered, you have many more options out there...I don't usually hear anyone ranting about whether or not something Nike or Under Armour put out fit their body and their style perfectly so what gives? And I checked out Patagonias bikinis bc people were saying they offer more coverage and I just don't see it....they look pretty skimpy to me. Im just tired of the ranting. Not just here, it's everywhere anymore....everyone feels so entitled to bi*#h and moan ad nauseum anymore over any and every thing. Please grow up!

Anon @ 6:42 your right maybe you shouldn't come to this website anymore. The reviews on this board are quite factual!

Anonymous said...

Complaining about what other people have to say seems pretty childish to me. Take your own advice.

Anonymous said...

Anon 6:42 maybe it's time for you take your own advice? Your comment is the most negative one on this entry! Yes lots of people complain but both complaining and gossiping are two of the biggest ways people connect with each other as has been shown in various psychological studies

I think a lot of the frustration is due to the high price tags we are paying for products that are not always living up to Lulu standard we have come to love! Just disappointed, we know Lulu can do better :)

Anonymous said...

Annon. @ 6:42am ....

Complaining about a product let's other people know that it might not be up to par ! You really don't have to read this blog if you have a problem with that ! :) Have a wonderful day !

Anonymous said...

I will keep complaining as long as my $90 pants keep unraveling, and my $100+ bathing suit keeps bleeding on me!! And why do you care so much?

Anonymous said...

I wasn't really referring just to this particular set of comments, but rather the comments in general lately. I wasn't complaining about other peoples complaining just for kicks and giggles, I was hoping someone would take it to heart and see how whining is really not productive and that people don't necessarily want to hear that. If something says it might bleed color when wet on the label, I have the choice whether to purchase that item or not. They are being upfront about it. The white rash guard is see through when wet, I can see that bc its already somewhat see through when dry that that would likely be the case. Some people might like that, having their bikini show through, it's kind of cute in my opinion. Point is, why would you expect every item LLL produces to be a perfect fit for your body type and style? I buy the clothes that I like, don't buy the clothes I don't and move on. I can't wear probably 50% of their clothing bc I feel it is too short or see through...but the other 50% I love and works well for me. Im just not sure what else I could expect, they are just a clothing company trying to make money.

Can I just say that I'm a Lululemon Addict addict? I check this blog more than my email. :) I love everyone's fit comments and getting to see so many styles before they hit the stores or website! It helps me decide whether to wait for what's coming or Go ahead and make a purchase, which is critical in the LLL world when the best items tend to sell out. Thanks to everyone who contributes.
Also, random observation: I wouldn't buy a white rash guard expecting it NOT to be see-through. But, I don't really think that's an issue because you're going to be wearing a swimsuit under it. I think these swimwear pics are cute.

Lulumum blog now has a post up about the recall. And to the previous post... I don't think people appreciate spending top dollar for workout clothing to have all these issues (bleeding, recalls, see through, ect). If Lululemon is "just a clothing store trying to make money " but bottom line turn out poor, not tested product, you're going to have some frustrated people. If they don't have the consumers trust they don't have a company worth a penny.

Not ALL the swimwear had been pulled ladies... Just rose/flash. It was never even uploaded on tuesday

When I first started buying lulu, i was in sticker shock. Sadly, now i am conditioned that those are what they usually charge for their items. All i expect is that since the clothes are so expensive, that the quality lives up to the price. I have a $78 shirt that had seams unraveled and the educator told me that they are not like Patagonia where things are supposed to last forever. My top is made out of luon and so i said dont all your tags say its 5 year tested? I thought their motto wa FRIENDS are more important than money. Well, here go the beginnings of an unhappy customer.

Anonymous said...

Agreed. I don't see these many comments as negative lately. I think they are honest concerns about the quality of the product for the price tag. People want to pay for a quality product. If it not quality but still priced as high end, I find it helpful to read these things before I make a buying mistake. In this economy I find all of these comments helpful. All of us care enough about our love for lulu to share with each other. AND hopefully someone at their corporate reads this and take note! :) If a $20 nike t shirt falls apart...well I deal or take it back to kohls. A $100 top from lulu? I hope to have for a long time! :) Thank you all for voicing your thoughts.

Anonymous said...

Have to reply also - I appreciate the honesty (& the frustration) in everyone's comments, I don't think people are enjoying feeling exasperated about quality issues, enjoying having a whinge. I agree, for what you pay garments should be perfect. Have a thought for the Aussies, our prices are marked up even higher (eg Define = AUS $129) even though our dollar is worth more than the greenback. And ordering international costs an incredible $30 in postage !!

Anonymous said...

"they are not like Patagonia where things are supposed to last forever. "

What?! That is completely ridiculous. For $100/item, the clothing should last at least a year or two.

Anonymous said...

Part of the problem is that LLL used to have amazing product that would last forever and was made with quality materials. Over and over again we see them cheapening out on things. No garment should bleed, ever. Look at the Olympics - tons of colorful outfits, I bet none of the athletes have to worry about turning different shades.

We complain because we want LLL to be great, like it used to be. I used to be able to buy with confidence. Now I don't - I wait for reviews to surface before I commit to anything.

Christine Day needs to go. Nothing good has come out of LLL since she took over. Website, colors, seams, see thru garments.

Anon @6:42 - why don't YOU start your own blog where things can be all sunshine and unicorns and rainbows.

LuluAddict said...

People are venting their frustrations here because they truly love the lulu brand and feel that it is going downhill. Corners are being cut and the product quality is not what it used to be yet prices continue going up. They expect a lot from lulu and were looking forward to the swim line and have been disappointed in the execution.

Anon. @ 6:42 + 7:20

If I pay top dollar for an item, I don't want it to bleed even if you say "they are being up front about it". You should stop complaining about "complainers". Just get off this blog. People here are voicing their opinion on clothes that cost top $ for sports wear. We are helping each other decide which products are worth buying and which are not. Period.

Anonymous said...

Anon 7:20, all I did was state that people are complaining alot on this blog lately, sorry if that offended you but it's true. It's gone beyond being constructive. I just may "get off this blog" as you suggested, no big deal either way. I come here to see new products and to see them on real people, sometimes the comments help me decide on sizing or if something will work for me or not, but lately not so much. Comments about the maxi dress being fugly or the beachy floral being geriatric, those comments do not add to the conversation they are just uneccesary, no?

Christine Day totally needs to go from a die hard fan standpoint. She has not been ousted because she is making the shareholders happy. She is famous for diluting brands (cheapening quality and over-expansion). She has one M.O.-look at what she did to Starbucks.

OT - can anyone provide info about sizing on the flashback pullover? Love it and want to order when it is uploaded. Is it a size-down item? Kinda looks like it to me...

Anonymous said...

Any ideas when the flashback might be uploaded? I really want it!

Anonymous said...

I normally wear 6 in tops and I sized down to a 4 in the navy flashback. The bottom is snug on my hips, but I like it that way and the 6 just had too much material and slid off my shoulders.

Cari said...

I did not size down in the flashback pullover, but that was because there is no size 2. I can normally wear a 2 or 4 in pullovers/hoodies. The band on the bottom keeps the pullover on well. I like the oversize look and I like that it hangs off my shoudlers at points- I am a child of the 80s so I love the flashdance look. :)

VERY well said Anon 8:28.
I am fairly new to Lulu (Dec 15,2011),but have collected quite a large amount. I love most of the designs look and feel, however I do become frustrated when I have to worry what colors I can wear together, because they might bleed. I have a flash bra that has been laundered at least 5 times, and STILL bled and stained my white power y! Takes the joy out of wearing it. I must say, I have NEVER had this happen with any other brand EVER.
This blog is a valuable tool for those of us that buy/wear lulu on a regular basis.

Yo Anon complainer complaining about complaints! I'm the one who made the beachy geriatric comment. It is just an opinion. I post many other things as well from fit, to thoughts on sizing,to wishlist of possible future colors! Its an addict page! I love coming here and reading all opinions. Some people ADORE things I do not and vice versa. This is not a serious business work environment where all things typed must be constructive and necessary! I love all of the opinions! They crack me up! Like many others have stated, they aren't jumping down Nikes throat for fit issues -because of the price difference. . . Also, I never have issues with Nike gear. I beat up my tempo track shorts (frequently on sale for 17$) as well as airborne sports bra tanks (max price usually 50ish but often on sale for 30). They last me forever and are awesome! The idea of paying so much for something inferior is pretty disturbing for many people. Because we all want to think you get what you pay for! I love all kinds of sportswear from Beyond Yoga(size down!) to Splits59(pricy but love it and made in USA!) and Patagonia (quality) - Athleta! Nike! Alo! Brooks! Saucony! Asics! Addidas! lol this list could go on and on! There is always something awesome from each brand! Its so fun to pick and choose through all the fabrics, cuts, and road test them out! I appreciate this site because it is not ruled over to only say completely positive constructive things. I like that it has so many thoughts. Your thoughts are appreciated too - but censorship will never be appreciated. I think that is why you are getting replies like get off the blog or make your own etc. - Just view it as chatter! Don't take it too much to heart! Enjoy the opinions! ok see ya!

Heathered Deep Navy Flashback pullover: LOVE IT SO MUCH, for some reason we have them in Southern California, but a fair amount of the sizes do seem sold out.

Complaints: keep voicing your opinions. Lulu does read these, I am sure. We pay a premium for these products and that premium buys us the right to complain. I spent OVER $5000 at Lulu last year alone. I love reading the feedback, its saved me a ton of grief and I know what to avoid. What's a blog for if you can't be yourself?

Anonymous said...

I would just like to see this blog continue down the awesome path that it has been on, that is all. It ruins it for me when I have to read through a bunch of negative stuff, didn't mean to ruffle so many feathers. I guess if at the end of the day this ends up just being a place for people to vent about clothing they feel like they paid too much for, there are much better things I could be doing with my time!

And don't forget, its not the complaining about the products that will make LLL change, its your almighty dollar, so just not buying the stuff that isn't up to par will speak volumes.

Anonymous said...

But... the maxi dress IS fugly...why can't we say something's ugly if we think it is?

Anonymous said...

There have been many missteps lately (bike clothes, swimming line, bleeding colors) does anyone think this has something to do with the new leadership at the company? I love lulu and gladly spend too much money on thier clothes because the things I buy there look great, fit perfectly, and therefore make me feel fantastic. It has been wonderful for my clothes budget the last month or so!

Anonymous said...

I am with Anon 6;42 and 7:20 and 8:55, who is the same anon anyway. I couldn't have said it better. You don;t like, just don't buy. It bled on you, just return it. You'll get your money back. And if you want lululemon to pay attention, then stop buying their products. It's vere simple.

At Anon 12:55 PM: The maxi might be fugly on you, I look stunning in it. So I find it very, very funny when some people here judge items based sorely on a couple of pictures they have seen on this blog. Or just because one can see their bumps and lumps when they wear lulu bottoms, BUT worry about getting rid on those bumps and lumps, instead of expecting a pair of WU to make your legs look like those of Cameron Diaz in her WU! If you don't have the body/height for it, don't even bother then, because it'll look "fugly" on you. Not on everyone else. Certainly not on me and not on the web models either.

Had it not been noted on these blogs, I would have never known about the recall of Paris Pink items. Lulu is not vocal about these recalls, and often it appears that I know about the bleeding of various colors before the ed's in my local store...all from following the blogs and facebook posts. Many people have found out these issues the hard way - by having issues to complain about. I expect better from such high end items.

Anonymous said...

Being notified about recalls is great, hearing that stuff fits small or weird is great, hearing complaints by people who haven't even tried the stuff on isn't great. I've bought quite a few items from LLL over the past few months...2 scubas, a running jacket, 6 pairs of pants for myself, 2 CRBs, a bra, two pairs of pants for my son, a pullover for my son and a running shirt for my husband...not one quality issue with any of those items. I guess I'm just lucky. I do take care of my stuff and have a reasonable expectation about durability.

Anonymous said...

I'm with anon 1:20. Opinions are only helpful if you've tried it on or seem it. Saying the maxi dress us fugly on you is one thing, but I USE my lulu everyday when I'm killing myself working out and I think it looks great.

Way too many people but lulu just to be cute and want it to make them look good. Make yourself look good by using their cloths for what they're designed for. I've never had a problem with any cloths. EVER.

I wear my run cloths to run and my yoga cloths to yoga and wash them all together. I understand bleeding is annoying but I just don't buy those colors.. Easy fix. If they didn't sell ANY flash they'd stop making it but ppl buy flash even knowing....

I agree.... Stop complaining about bleeding and just don't buy it!!!

Anonymous said...

Everybody calm down! lululemon stands behind quality issues SUCH AS bleeding and seam issues so bring it in the store and get it replaced. And if you think that chaffing between the legs that cause ripping in the seams is a quality issue then think again. I think people are starting to forget the difference between wear and tear and actual design issues. Sheesh! This blog is becoming a complaint box...

this blog for me, is for all of us who are passionate about Lulu - whether our experiences are positive or negative, they are interesting and helpful! i have also been impressed upon, that Lulu reps view this blog as a powerful resource to gain important information on the pulse of lulu lovers everywhere!

Anonymous said...

i imagine those that are having a problem with this blog having anything else to say other than LLL is wonderful probably works there.....

Anonymous said...

censoring ourselves to only happy LL comments would seriously compromise what has become one of the most important reasons i come to this blog.....honest and objective feedback - anyone who doesnt like it doesnt have to visit

Anonymous said...

thank you everyone for your feedback here; good bad and ugly. i rely on all of you to help me make decisions about the items i purchase.

i find it really inconsiderate to state 'just bring it into the store' if there are quality issues! i have to get on a plane to get to a store, i rely on the online shopping myself. if an item ruins one of my athleta suits, i would be TICKED and am no where near a store to just bring it in for return.

i purchased the pink rash guard; it arrived today. size 8. i wish i had read more first!!!!! buyer beware. i was so excited and then i put it on. horrible imho. fit is terrible on me; works through the torso and uncomfortably tight on the arms, shoulders and neck. felt like i was being choked. not a crew, not a collar just weird weird length at neck; its the short sleeve version.

fabric is completely transparent. looks awful lumpy with a bathing suit underneath. really really not a good look. completely x rated to wear with nothing underneath...i bought it to wear over a bathing suit and did NOT even consider a lulu suit as unlined!!! no way. thank you reviewers for that tidbit of information, i never knew such things existed lol; an unlined suit, seriously?????

i own several rash guards from other companies. i expected it to fit tight but it is cheap looking, a poor fit, and seriously has no real value to me as a functional piece.

i am tired of scrambling to get the items i love and use regularly for running and zumba. i know, the scarcity model...but, if you do not want me to purchase a whole bunch of bang busters in fun colors (which i would as i love them) or crb's then keep up with not having new colours or a variety of sizes available.

the rash guard will be returned (by mail, fun for me) and my money will not be spent on the beloved items as there are none available.

I'm finding it more exhausting than fun to feed my lulu addiction lately. i don't want to struggle with anxiety with quality issues etc or have to baby each piece. i will stick with the tried and true. when they are unavailable, oh well...you don't want my money, my bank account is happy.

i tried some new items and they have all been fails for me. i don't like taking the risk on quality, fit or taking the chance of ruining other items of clothing.

and, yes, negative...i wear an 8 in flow y bra...read lulu reviews for the arise bra "love love love" and the thing strangled me in my size. i cannot stand the inconsistent sizing, its frustrating for me, it did not fit my cups or torso. i have started reading the lulu descriptions MUCH more carefully, my mistake for that particular bra however, many of the descriptions on the website are inaccurate. i have emailed lulu about it and the descriptions have not changed.

seriously, quality problems are serious. website quality, product quality, inconsistent sizing issues...buying less and less myself.

it is quite frustrating though to see 4-5 reviews on a product stating that the description is inaccurate and it remains unchanged!!! no whoops, thanks, fix. just ignore it??? its strangely arrogant.

As a relatively recent user of this blog, I love it for its honesty. Good or bad. Even looking up past items to see what they were like before purchasing on ebay or the like is useful.

That being said, I've had quality issues before with some of my items. I don't live very close to a store, and thus can't always go to the store to return. Which is annoying if I don't know what size to get in an item. Returning for a quality issue, however, is something I haven't had problems with being far away. My approach has been to email GEC and include several pictures of the problem. Each time, they simply issue me a refund and happily pay to ship the item back to the warehouse at no cost to me.

Although its a hassle to have to pay return shipping for something that simply doesn't fit, I feel that there are several other companies that do this, so I'm not too put off by it with Lulu.
Anyway, just my two cents worth.

Anonymous said...

How is the issue of poor quality going to get fixed if you don't even bring it back to the store....that's why they replace it so they can record the issue in the system for future reference. It's not helping the problem by being glued to this blog complaining constantly to eachother. Designers actually want to hear this feedback.

Anon 2:32, thank you. I've been feeling this but didn't want to offend anyone...clothes can only do so much to make you look good. At some point, you need to check your diet and up the exercise if you're not happy with your body. I do not like my legs and have yet to buy any LLL shorts...but man do I lust over them!! Should I complain to LLL that my legs look fat in their shorts orrrr bust my butt in the gym to get those legs I want so I can wear those shorts? You better believe I am motivated every day to get my legs in shape so I can buy those dang shorts! That is honestly the reason I am a Lulu Addict...bc I love the clothes so much, it makes me work harder so I can look good in them. It's just a brand like anything else out there, but for me it's extra motivation bc I buy into the lifestyle they represent. I believe that is why they have been so successful. So being that type of person who strives for the best version of me everyday and who believes LLL embraces the same ideal, yes, it rubs me the wrong way to come to a blog that loves Lulu and have the comments section full of negativity. I'm not all rainbows and unicorns, but the drama I can do without.
