Spotted in Stores - Pop Orange Cool Racerback

New solid Pop Orange (no heathered) spotted in a Canadian store. The tag has been moved to the side hem now. (BTW, a woman reported that her Pow Racing Length CRB bled after four washes so I would assume the same might happen with the new regular length CRB.) (Thanks to Ms. S for the photo.)

Update - Sorry for changing labels between heathered and solid Pop Orange. Some people are reporting their tag says HPOR and others says the tag is PORA so there may be two versions out - solid and heathered.

Oh! I'm so stalking this on upload night. I missed out on the heathered dazzling CRB, and this is way better. It's solid!!!

Fyi, my ray run bound bra bled on my menthol/white speed shorts. Just a couple spots where the straps were touching the shorts but I've now re-washed them twice with spot remover and they're still there. I wanted to pass this along for anyone who may be thinking of washing their ray items with lighter colors. Hopefully it was just me. :-(

My friend who's an educator told me thetr have been problems with the ray luon bleeding but the ray silverscent material has been okay.

I had problems with my Ray Crop CRB and my Pow Pink Crop CRB. The Pow Pink finally stopped bleeding after 7 washes.
I washed a big batch of new Flash Lite tops last night...no bleeding.
I picked up the Pace Skirt in Dots, the shorts under it are Ray. I foresee disaster with bleeding all over the skirt. I noticed today in the review of the skirt someone posted pics of the shorts bleeding all over the skirt.

Again, where is the bruised berry dot crb. Please don't tell me that this is on limited release.

I want the Pop Orange, but I have the Dazzling CRB and the Pop Orange Swiftly... Plus, I am extremely disappointed with Lulu right now. I am having bleeding problems with Flash Inspire crops and Flash Light Define, emailed GEC on Mon or Tues and have yet to hear back. Lulu fits me well and the colors are great, but I've only been a customer for 6 months and they are losing me quickly due to quality.

I was visiting my parents last week and my mom had ordered a bunch of stuff from Athleta. While examining it I saw tags that said "we don't subscribe to you wear it, you bought it". My mom told me she can return anything, no hassle, if she's unhappy. I wondered what I was doing, continuing to buy Lulu. Unfortunately I checked out Athleta and most things seem too mature for me. But I'm running out of patience for Lululemon.

I forgot to mention that the last time I emailed a company regarding a quality issue, it was Victoria's Secret. They emailed me back in less than 24 hours, and happily replaced my product. No questions asked, no pictures needed.

I washed new VS yesterday that is the same color as Flash pink, with a bunch of light colored items. I didn't realize I'd done it til it was too late, but there was no bleeding whatsoever. Is it sad that I was actually surprised?

I think I'm done with Lulu, guys :-(. Customer service is appalling and I'm tired of seams and dyes coming out. It's only clothing, not worth the hassle.

I'd like to get this Pop Orange CRB but am concerned about the potential (likely?) bleeding. I don't think I could tolerate it. I have several CRB's that I've had no issues with. The brightest I have are the Porcelaine and Wild Lime and they have never bled.

Susan (TJI) said...

My ray speed shorts bled onto a white towel I had with me for the drive home. Looked just like I wrote on the towel with a highlighter.

Carolyn said...

I have the ray wu's and CRB along with a ton of flash and flash light and didn't have any problems with bleeding. I did have a problem with the flash/dune stripe CRB that bled and returned that one. I hate that it's hit or miss and you're always taking chances on their bright colored clothing. It shouldn't be an issue at all.

Anonymous said...

I have the new pow pink CRB regular length, and it bleeds...it's soaking in the sink as we speak.

Anonymous said...

I can't believe Lulu hasn't fixed the problem ! All this bleeding is really crazy ! I'm definitely cutting down on my purchases with all these problems. I always pre-wash before wearing and each Lulu piece is washed separately (I know totally crazy but a must as prevention !). I have not had any bleeding issues but have had several pieces in the last month or so with stitching coming undone. The quality is going down for sure.

Laurie said...

My real issue with bleeding is that there seems to be some mystery equation with when it happens.

I've had items that I soaked for hours after purchasing and they didn't release any dye. Multiple times of wearing/sweating and multiple times of washing later with no problems, and I'd still end up having bleeding when I'd be out on long (10+ mile) runs.

I can soak something over night and it doesn't release dye, but I get extra sweaty on a run and it bleeds? ):<

Anonymous said...

Even though I've picked up items in all these bright colors, somehow I lucked out and never had any bleeding issues... until last week.

I forgot to bring an extra white tank top to Taekwondo practice so I had to throw my uniform over my flash light crb. This crb has been washed and worn before without issue, but it bled through my white uniform, especially where my belt laid.

I'm a little wary of these bright colors now since the bleeding issue clearly isn't resolved. I love that orange color, but I'm not going to be fooled twice.

Anonymous said...

My black pace setter skirt still bleeds after 4 washes.. I'm so afraid to wash any of my lulu together with anything now. So far no bleeding when I sweat but I'm afraid to take the tags off my flash light and ray racing tanks now. Lame.

Many of you have had more LLL gear longer than I have: myself just the last 2 years for shirts and crops, but Speed shorts ever since they came out.

Have there always been bleeding issues or is this recent? Or is it only since LLL started to put the washing instructions (in the past year) right on the product info. page? i.e., "how to care for your Paris Pink", "how to care for your brights"etc. that these issues have started to be more prevalent?

FYI, on the LLL FAQ:

"*important note regarding Canada Day and July 4th shipping

So that we can all celebrate our patriotism in style, our Distribution Centres in Canada and the US will be closed on July 2 and July 6 respectively. Items ordered online around this time may take an extra day to get to you. Think of it as a bonus day to let the anticipation build."

The upload on the Monday I imagine is programmed but may be a light one?

Happy Canada Day and Happy Fourth of July! Cheers.

Anonymous said...

Sad. :( My order last Friday is still processing and with the holiday on Monday I guess it won't get shipped any time soon.

Oh well, Happy Canada Day! :)

Minda said...

Happy JULY everyone!
- hrmm what an interesting thought Anon 8:12 !! It is the SWEAT that makes it BLEED!

Lululemon is clearly not bothered by the fact that all the new colours bleed. We continue to buy the products in hopes that they don't, and if they do we return them. This process works for lululemon but not for me. I wish people would just refuse to buy new product until this issue is resolved! Lululemon has no reason to fix this if we keep ordering like usual, and they have to refund a small percent of what was sold.

If I buy a new top that bleeds, yes maybe I can get it refunded but what about what it bled onto? An older lulu bra or a different top all together. I won't be refunded for that.. I love the new Pop Orange colour but sadly I won't be buying.

Anonymous said...

Omg you have to go look at someone's review of wuc! She posted a picture of her bum to show how see thru they are and another picture to show camel toe due to the new gusset!

Anonymous said...

"Think of it as a bonus day to let the anticipation build." On Lulu website regarding Canada Day and the 4th July Holiday.... SO LAME ! I really don't like their attitude and stupid Manifesto. The clothes are the only thing I was interested in... and now with all the poor quality issues... I'm buying less and less. Lulu... I'm loosing interest and I'm sure I'm not the only one ! I'm getting cured of my Lulu obsession. Which means more $ for other things. :)

I WUNDER if Lulu will keep that post up there - I WUNDER if they will address the fit issue. It really is true. . . we want a superior quality over the target brand for the amount paid. =/

WOW ! I also just had alook at the WU crop review ! I really don't understand why Lulu would change a product that is SO POPULAR and mess it up ?!? I tried the black embossed dot WU crops and they were awful ! I love WU's.... I have so many pairs. I would have bought those but they gave me CT and were very thin ! I,m going to stick to the ones I have until Lulu fixes these issues. SAD ! :(

Anonymous said...

That's pretty crazy about the WUC review and her pics. imho I think she has a sizing issue in some way, maybe not at the waist but likely at the hips: the crop/pant should not pull or gather like that at the front. It should be smooth.

As for sheerness, we all know the quality of the luon has deteriorated over recent months, let's say the past year.

I have a new pair of recent WU pants (black with tinted canvas waistband) from wmtm from May 2012 and they are not too sheer. I really have no complaints with that pair. However, the Luon is definitely thinner than my other WU crops and pants that are older, even ones purchased in Fall 2011.

Personally I've had no sizing issues in any bottoms. Consistently size 4 and I have no muffin top or camel toe (diamond or triangle gusset). Any issues are around quality. I definitely scrutinize LLL items much more now than in the past as I've lost some confidence in quality. I definitely do not remove the tags before I've given them a test at home and don't wear them within the return window time period to try and make sure I'm satisfied and to ensure I can return if necessary.

@Minda
Well, I did cold soak/handwash my new Scoop Me Up tank in Pow Pink ans Ray (separately, of course!), in the sink. The water is not too bad at all, not like my Paris Pinks for sure. I'm planning to wear Pow to my class on Tuesday, so we'll see. Worn Ray last Friday and no problem at all. :)However, I've never had any color bleeding during my class, even with those Paris line. But mind you I don't "sweat like Shaq" either (remember the Gatorade/Powerade commercials?) during my class. I'm going to chance it with the Pow and Pop. Can't help it Minda, I love these two colors!!!

Now, is the Pop Orange heathered or not? There seemed to be some uncertainties on this topic as a poster mentioned that hers is not and I've heard that it is. Either way is fine but I MUCH prefer NOT heathered for both Pop and Pow.

Anonymous said...

i bought the inner heart bra (which i absolutely love - the fit is great for running and it looks amazing) - i ran in it and sweated and no bleeding (i know i didn't wash it before wearing - i was too lazy :(, so i though great! and then i washed it by hand in cold water and it bled a bit - once i dried it the dye was unevenly distributed over the bra - so i soaked it for 2 days (several hours at a time) and the water was so incredibly pink i was shocked that the bra still retained it color...at the end of 2 days i just decided to dry it and wear it. So when i sweat it doesn't bleed, but when i wash it with cold water it does!!! what is up!?!?!? does anyone else have this kind of problem?

yogibabe said...

BTW, I have both the Embossed Faded Dot and Deep Indigo WU crops, as do several of my yoga buddies and teacher. Eventhough the luon is thinner, none of us has the see through nor camel toe issues. Whew! We are all glad of that! Just for reference, we all stayed TTS with these two colors.

Anonymous said...

Has anyone experienced bleeding issues with a pop orange swiftly? I just bought one, but I haven't worn it yet. I love the color, but I will return it in a hot minute if I have to deal with one more bleeder.

MonkeyGirl said...

Wow! Those photos are crazy in the WUC review! I've been pretty good on my ban of lulu colors, sadly for me. But nope- if I hear something bleeds, not spending my money! If I can discern bad quality- I won't buy, so checking thickness, and so on carefully. The triangle gusset isn't working for me either- so buying so much less these days! Love the POW and Pop- but passing.

Anonymous said...

the marathon crops have a triangular gusset ... but it is all the way in the back (about 3 inches too far)!!! it is very uncomforable to say the least, I don't understand why??? is this why they they were on WMTM (otherwise they are great!), or was i the lucky one who got a bad item?

Anonymous said...

I bought the purple and the black-dot WU crops, and both were see-through. Returned them both. Too bad. The purple was such a pretty color, and the black pair I got was the only one with a good dot distribution.

If Lulu's profits are up in recent months, I do not believe it is due to increased sales. I think it is solely due to an increased profit margin due to lower quality fabrics and dyes, poorer quality sewing, and higher prices. Selling their reputation off, one diminished item at a time.

Anonymous said...

I bought the bruised berry CRB at my local studio. Have been dying to buy a 2nd one (gorgeous & no bleeding! well, extremely faint bleeding). I think I will call more local studios, in case this item never gets a mainstream release.

Katie said...

A loud and clear sign that people are not buying these poor quality items- my store still has pow pink WUs in stock. They sent the PN out last week, and I thought for sure they would be gone. I mean, pink wunder unders? Those would normally sell out so fast they wouldn't even make the product notice!

I have the pow scoop me up. On the fence about it. The under boob seam and now reading that it bleeds. A year ago I wouldn't even consider returning a pink item.

I wish I could say lulu was saving me money...but I have gotten my fix elsewhere. Have you all seen the brights that Nike and UA have out right now?! I noticed this neo orange UA tank on a few gals at my gym and had to have it, it is just gorgeous...and high quality, and $23!

Glad I skipped on the ray speeds. I have a large load of pinks and oranges that I wash together now...but nothing that can wash with ray.

Lastly, I seriously don't want to hurt anyone's feelings here....but a gal at my gym had that diversity tank on and I swear it was the cheapest looking most unflattering tank I have ever seen. I simply can't believe lulu even made it...well, yes I can actually. It looked awful. Like, a pajama tank or cheap undershirt from target out in public. I just had say that bc I think the enchantment with lulu makes some people lose their minds. I seriously am sorry if this is your new favorite. Maybe you are rocking it and she just wasn't. I don't know.

I just bought the Ray Free to Be and now I'm stressed that it might bleed, since someone (above) Ray Bound bra bled. Sigh. I don't want to have to worry about my exercise clothing bleeding. And what is up with people's clothing not bleeding for weeks and then on the 10th wear on a long run they bleed? Lulu needs to fix this problem. I also want to add that I snapped up the Power Purple WU crops as soon as they came out, washed and wore them. But in the mirror during barre class I kept noticing that I had CT! I have never had that before! And for these WU I sized up (I'm in between sizes) because I was worried they'd be sheer, so if anything they are a tiny bit too big. I hadn't even noticed the changed triangular gusset until I saw it on this blog a week or so later. My love for lulu is waning.

Anonymous said...

Katie - you are right on with the Under Armour and Nike comment. I was just at the SA Elite store here in Chicago ( Sports Authority's new incubator store that has a whole bunch of higher-end brands with styles exclusive to them). I normally don't buy any UA stuff, since I don't like their logo being so in-your-face. However, I couldn't help myself yesterday when I spotted a pair of unusually stylish ( for Under Armour, that is) running shorts that could've easily been mistaken for a pair by Stella McCartney for Adidas. Glad that the market for women's workout gear is flourishing and offering us a bunch of options. Now, if only Nike could fix their Tempo shorts and return them to the more fitted cut, all would be well.

anon @9:24 - BLACK is bleeding? Unbelievable. I just ordered the black energy bra b/c I figured black was safe but this is too much. I am done.

Anonymous said...

9:24 here. I couldn't believe it either. Then I googled it, and found a post on this blog where someone commented how their black pace setter was also bleeding. So it seems uncommon but maybe something in the pace setter skirts. My wunder groove crops that I bought last month are black and no bleeding. But yeah, I thought I was safe too by choosing black. This is getting completely out of hand. They need to get their act together.

Anonymous said...

Anon 12:10, you would be mistaken (see link). Sure, they've likely cut production costs as they're manufacturing more more inventory to meet demand.

But on-line sales are up 179% over the same period last year, inventory on hand is almost double vs. a year ago. In store sales are up 25% for any store open more than a year, higher than LLL's own projection of low 20's.

Same exact problem with my Inner Heart bra in Flash! The first time I soaked it in cold water with vinegar, and it didn't release dye, but dried with purple streaks of dye. The next time I soaked it and it kept releasing dye. I thought it had stopped, but it dried with purple streaks again! I just kept repeating the process, and I think it has subsided, but it certainly is not as bright as when I purchased it, and I have only worn it maybe 2-3 times. Love the style, but it is annoying that it is bleeding so much.

Laurie said...

This sounds ridiculous, but perhaps everyone just needs to start writing on Lulu's Facebook wall and complaining about quality/bleeding issues. That way, they have to start (at least considering) making change.

It's not like they can go through and delete negative feedback because then people can post on their wall again and point out that Lulu was doing that. Looks bad for the company either way, so eventually they'd have to do something.

It's not like we're asking for anything outlandish. We pay top dollar prices and expect quality to reflect that. It was never a problem in the past (except for maybe PP). But if UA, Nike, and other companies can produce neon/bright colors and have no issues, it's ridiculous as a customer to pay 2-3x those companies' price tags for defective products from Lulu :/

Minda said...

Online sales are up but so are returns! Almost everyone I know who wears lulu buys everything online and then returns all of it or most of t depending on fit. People blind buy because they are worried the color or style will vanish before they can get it too. The problem is lately and I mean several months, people aren't keeping anything and even starting to go elsewhere due to lack of quality. So I don't really think the statement of online sales are up is truly a sign that all is well in lululand

Katie said...

Minda I agree. We all order on the upload and return the following week in disappointment. LLA brought up a good point...what if your lulu bleeds on tan leather car seats? That would be insanely expensive and I wonder if lulu
Would cover it?

They say "like your favorite denim". ...but as a self diagnosed jeans addict I have never had denim that bleeds all over and stains things. Maybe a little blue water on first wash....but most newer styles of jeans don't even do that anymore. It's the old school deep blue jeans that do that. ....and with jeans you just wash them with other darks...what the hell do you wash ray with? ...and who has ever had jean shorts drip dye down their leg on a hot summer day, or stain your white tank?

I have never had tech fabrics that leach color before this. There has to be something wrong with the dying process.

Oh, and I love SA Elite! Was there yesterday!

Just imagine for a second that Executives are reading this blog... Would you care if the company makes so much money but some people still manage to complain? I'm pretty sure they don't care... I know that I return everything that's not up to my standard and they take it back with the smile. THAT keeps me on their hook;-) and cool styles too

@Minda, I live in jeans when I'm not wearing workout clothes so I've tried a lot of 'em. I have a pair of BKE Star Flare Stretch Jeans that I absolutely love. Might not work for you since they're low rise but you might want to check that brand out. Great dark color, nice flare, soft fabric, quality construction, etc. Oh, and did I mention they make my butt look fab?! Let's be honest; that's really what we're all looking for in a pair of jeans, right?

Also, if you haven't heard of Haute Look you should sign up for their emails. They have name brand clothes (I think I've seen 7 For All Mankind) at discounted prices. Just a few brands per day but I've snagged some makeup and some jeans from there and have been happy. Only problem is you do have to wait a while for your order, sometimes a few weeks. Tough if you're as impatient as I am but worth it for the price.

$%$&!!!!!!!! Black is bleeding? Seriously? WTF??????????

As for Lulu sales- well, of course this is completely based only on my observations- but from what I've seen from those around me-
many people I know have started wearing lulu in the past year as the brand's visibility widened. However, many of those same people are complaining to me now, and will move on if the brand can't deliver. The die hard addicts, such as those of us here, are hanging in perhaps but even we have our limits.

I think that those of us who love the brand are sad by this downturn and really hope the company turns it around.

@anon3:23 PM- you are lucky. Many of us do not have nice experiences when we return.

any suggestions ladies?
i need one that is durable and yet, i don't slip and slide. (i have a yogitoes towel that i put over my mat....but i don't want to have to use it everytime i go yoga.)

Err, that's an astronomical amount of an increase in on-line sales. I doubt the majority of it is being returned. You understand that the reported actual results are always after the quarter, the year etc. is done, so profits and sales definitely account for returns.

I have no idea exactly what happens to returns, but I'm sure if there is absolutely zero wrong with it (a regular return), it eventually goes on the sale rack in a store or to a warehouse sale.

I prefer to shop in store (several in my city) but I also shop on-line. I have never returned an item I ordered on-line. I have always tried the item(s) on beforehand and then capitalized when/if they've migrated to wmtm. This has paid off numerous times. Other items purchased on-line at full price are something I already own and am just going for another color version that may not make it to the store(s) or may be exclusively on-line (re-release of the Ebb & Flow). I'm not worried or upset if I don't get something: it's only clothing. Something new will always come along. Eveything that lulu makes is not for me. The different designs appeal to different people...what I consider hideous has someone else over the moon. What I like/love is more classic and enduring and has that other person bored and uninterested. As it is, I have quite enough LLL run and yoga gear that I'm very happy with and it all gets good use and has held up. If quality does continue to deteriorate, I'm set for a while. For the prices, the quality has to be there. If it's not, I'll move on. They did win me over from Nike, Adidas and New Balance though. Apart from one long sleeve Nike shirt that I still love, it has all gradually been rotated out and replaced by LLL. It can easily go the other way again.

Anon @ 4:24, I have a Jade Harmony mat, been using it about 3-4 times a week since early January. It's quite sticky and still looks brand new. It's fairly lightweight and there are numerous color choices (mine is teal).

Alright, I've been eying the Scoop Me Up tank in deep indigo since the upload and as the positive reviews keep coming in I get more and more itchy to buy. My only qualm is what color bottoms would I pair it with? I have an irrational hatred of pairing dark blues with black so that wouldn't work. The only two colors I have for shorts/bottoms are black and navy, and the navy is the wrong shade to go with the indigo. I'm not even sure it would pair with most jeans since it's such a unique color, so I can't even justify the purchase for non-athletic wear. For now I'm resisting unless one of you has a good suggestion. Help?!

Okay, my x-long flash crb has bleed on itselfs and has weird darker lines on it! I also swear my wuc black embossed are loosing the embossing! Has any one noticed this and they have really faded! When I wear them with a new black lulu top it is very noticeable.

Sourkraut - white crops! either leggings or the dance studio? A rich deep brown is cool too. And you can wear ANYTHING with jeans!! --I love the look gap was pushing a couple years ago of a long sleeve jean collared button down with jeans. - Jean on jean! but the key was DIFFERENT SHADES. Also - navy with charcoal . . Sounds like you don't want to blend with the bottoms you have so time to SHOP! LOL. I get the impression you like to stay darker in color on the bottoms and not sure you will go for white - but that would be rad. . . .of course if the indigo isn't a bleeder

I had to size up on the Scoop Me up tank. I got the white with silver. I like it more than the others. I guess it's because it's summer and I want to wear it with some skirt.
LIft and Separate Bra: my daughter (32DD) did not like it. She said it separated too far apart. It's going back.
Mirage print: did not like it.
Turbo Run Shorts: in the vertical stripe. It's ok and I bought it since it sold out.
Headbands: pow pink and pop orange. Cute.
Fast and Free crop: I did not get it since I bought a few marathon crops on WMTM. It's cute.
I find that I need to size up in most stuff now. I guess things are getting tighter around me. I am now between a 4 and 6. I'm waiting for a nice define or SDJ for Xmas presents. I like the yogi dance jacket but never bought it when it first came out. I don't know why. Hope it comes back.
I don't know why I seek out the colorful items. I always admire the people I see out and about when they wear the black Lulu gear. It just looks good on everyone.

Sourkraut, I'm with Minda on this. I love, love the Scoop Me Up! Deep Indigo will go smashingly with white bottoms or the brights, like Pow Pink, heathered ultra violet, ray, flash, or the neutral dune, blurred grey, coal. ( I have my favrorite WU crop in white/deep indigo quiet stripe, that will look really cute with this top. Oooh...I'm all excited now!) I'm like you, can't seem to bring myself to pair navy with black. Irrational? Yes! But since you prefer darker bottoms, start shopping for the coal to the lighter blurred grey spectrum. Athleta has the color Asphalt, that will go well with Deep Indigo. Heathered black, (this I can pair with navy!) heathered charcoal will be good too. Happy shopping!

since we're talking about bleeding (again...lulu this is getting REALLY old): bruised berry has to be my new favorite color, UNTIL...a pair of some like it hot shorts (luxtreme) bleed all over my capoeria pants (white) during class. NOT COOL. those pants not only cost me $75, but CAME FROM BRAZIL. not easily replaced!!! THEN, to top it off, a was wearing a BB hot n sweaty skirt (luxtreme waistband) on a kayaking trip and it bled all over my patagonia sunshade hoody (also white). UGH. i have a BB flow y, define, groove shorts - all luon, and no problem. but it seems like the luxtreme is all bleeding if you sweat enough. note that i washed these items before hand and had no bleeding problem - in fact, i've never had bleeding problems in the wash - this may be shocking, but i wash all my lulu and other clothes together...no separating, and never had an issue. but the moment i start sweating, the bleeding starts...

Another bad Lulu story- I really wanted the bruised berry polocrosse crops, but missed out. So when I saw them restocked online last week,I purchased them. I opened them and couldnt believe it...there is a strange white spot on the inside/crotch region. I cant believe it. I wanted the pants so badly, but I am so grossed out I cant even look at them. clearly they were returned. im going to take them back to my local store, but wont be able to get them replaced since they are long gone from the store. I don't want to remove the tags to wash them, what if the spot stays? I just can't believe they sent them to me! Sorry ...had to vent!

Sourkraut said...

@Anon 7:10 PM - How weird and kinda gross! Could you try spot cleaning it with a damp cloth to see if it'll come out in the wash? I only say that since they can't be exchanged and you seem to really want them. I don't see how a little water could hurt but even if you wind up causing more damage you shouldn't feel guilty because they were unusable from the get go.

@Minda & yogibabe -- thanks, girls! I like that it would just give me an excuse to shop some more. Not that I need an excuse, obviously. Thanks especially for the tip about checking Athleta. Hadn't even thought about branching out. Maybe I'll go ahead and order the top and then worry about finding a match later. That can be my new project to keep me occupied.

anon 7:10. If it were me, I would return them. There will be something else in the future you will love just as much if not more, that doesn't have ominous creepster stains on them!

Anonymous said...

Anon 7:10 that is absolutely disgusting. I'd call the GEC and tell them how disgusted you are and demand a giftcard or something. You got crops with someone's crotch grease in them! Ew!!! Shame on lulu's quality control with the return process.

@ sophia - I agree the luxtreme items seem to bleed the worst/most often. However, Ray speeds and black Pacesetters are bleeding, too - that is Swift material.

@ anon 11:24 am - I have the pop orange Swiftly and have run in it on hot days and not had a problem.

Anonymous said...

@minda I have em all! True Religion, Joe's, Paige, Yanuk, Big Star, Taverniti, Frankie B, Rock Revival...it's a problem! I would have to say my favorite right now are Big Star....they sell them at Buckle. There is also an ebayer who is selling some irregular ones and I bought two pr from her and they are fab. Big Star has a very distressed look that I love. I also have warned up to my joes which were not my FAV at first. ...overall I really love Yanuk...they are hard to find, but check eBay and rue lala has them sometimes. If you like less of a low rise I like Taverniti they are so soft and the detailing is hot. Sorry OT all!

@ anon 7:10 - your story of getting dirty stuff from restocking/WMTM is not unique (well, kind of in the way it was dirty - EWWW!). That is one thing that makes me leery of waiting too long to order something or ordering from something restocked by returns - getting something some one has dirtied when they tried it on and hasn't been reinspected by the GEC. One good thing about lululemon stuff is that it releases stains very easily (however, did read a review on the website of the UPF material that didn't) but I can totally understand how it is too gross for you to want to keep.

My Pop Orange swiftly does not bleed. Sweat, wash, no probs. Then again I didn't have any problems with my Flash stuff so like past people have said it appears to be hit or miss. It's not enough to deter me from buying brights again.

Re: anon @7:10
That's really bad that lulu sent those out to you that way! I just got an order with a Free to Be bra - deodorant smudges and the tag torn off - price tag was attached, but the long skinny care tag was ripped right off, you could see the thread where it had been attached. I guess it was bothering the last person who tried it on, but wow, that is not new condition!

Has anyone had problems with Pop Orange bleeding?

Anonymous said...

So, totally switching topics here: has anyone used the new bandana? If it moves to WMTM, I am thinking of buying one. I live in the mid-south, and It's so, so hot here. I'm thinking that I could wet this cool water, twist it into a more of a headband-like shape (i don't want to look like a cowboy, y'all) and tie it loosely around my neck for coolness. Any thoughts? Or does anyone use a nonLLL product actually designed to keep you cool?
I rode horses growing up (again, English jumping, not cowboy style) and I had this delightful cool-pack thing that you could wet and freeze. Then you put it in your riding helmet to keep your head cool. It was awesome! Is there something like that for runners and I just haven't found it yet?

About someone looking for a mat- I have the Mat from Lululemon and love it. It did smell a bit at first but I let it lay outside unrolled for a few days and sprayed a mixture of lemon juice and water on it and wiped it down and let it lay out a bit more. After a week it hardly smelled anymore and every few classes I spray it down with the lemon juice/water to clean it and let it dry out. Doesn't smell at all anymore. The best part about the mat is that is TOTALLY non slip. I do hot yoga and no matter how much I sweat on the mat I don't have to use a towel. Just an extra hand towel to wipe off my face :) I had several other expensive yoga mats but this one allows me to have the deepest downward dog and warrior poses.

I will definitely buy a pop orange CRB! Heathered or regular although I prefer regular. I just had to take my Flash dune wee stripe CRB back to the store because it was bleeding on itself after 10 washes. I would wash it on cold and it looked fine but as it laid to dry it bled on itself in dark purple splotches. Luckily they were really nice and immediately gave me store credit. The educator just said it happened a lot on that color and didn't really ask too many questions. So HOPING the pop orange doesn't bleed. I have a flash light power Y and no problems with that so far. I also found a No Limits in the blush pink color on markdown for $54 and bought the Deep Breath tank in black. I'd been eying it for a while and finally broke down and bought it. SOO comfy and flattering.

Finally (sorry for long post)- I HATE the new Scoop Me Up tank. Scoopneck was one of my favorites. The new one cuts into my armpits and neck and is really unflattering on my boobs I think. I tried sizing up to an 8 but it's too baggy. My store (La Jolla San Diego) didn't have any Wandering Yogi stuff.

OT- the Energy bra is restocked in black on the website. Is it TTS? I am a 34C and wear a 6 in most Lululemon tops. I have a 6 in 50 rep bras and they are a bit snug but fit but have to size up if I try on lower support bras like the Run:Bound, Free to Be, and Centered Energy.

Anonymous said...

8:41 - I have the energy bra, I am 34DD and I bought it in a 4. It's VERY tight which works great for running, but it doesn't really do much for making my boobs look good since it's so fitted (I'll take support over style!). The bottom band is way thicker than any of the other bras I tried on, which I love. I probably could get away with it in a size 6 for lighter forms of exercise just not running. Oh and I wear a 6 in all tops!

sophia said...

i wear a 6 in all tops, but size up to an 8 in all bras..i find the band on lulu bras to be a bit small and uncomfortable. i have a 6 in an energy bra, and it fits, but i prefer the 8 - it's a bit more comfortable. if i were just going to go for run or some other quick activity, the 6 in fine. but i tend to wear my sports bras all day long - this is why i prefer the 8. i'm a 34B.

Actually, I've had a lot of trouble with dark denim (I love the dark blues) staining the bottom / inside of my white and cream tanks that I wear as layering pieces. One pair even stained my couch and it was SO hard to get it out! Multiple washes don't seem to help - I have 2 pairs that I fear will be bleeders forever.

Anonymous said...

So glad the energy bra is re-stocked. Is it also in stores? In colors other than black?

KS said...

@ anon asking about pop orange swiftly - I bought the pop orange swiftly tee and tore the tags off immediately and wore that day (I usually pre-wash but was too excited) and had no issues with bleeding at all. It was a hot day and I sweated in it wearing a light gray bra. No color transfer or bleeding. Love the color!

Anonymous said...

From what I can see, the energy bra is re-stocked only in black, only on the USA side of the site.. This seems weird lets see it on the CAN side too!

OT- Beyond Yoga is the bomb! I received my shipment from the sale last week and I am in love...not only did I get two pair of the softest, comfiest and most flattering pants for under $65, they also sent me a free headband! Lulu, I'm just cheating on you for now, but there very may well be an official breakup in the near future if you don't get your quality issues under control :(

Killerboots said...

Another day, another bleeder, wah wah. I wore my coal/flash no limits to yoga sculpt today hoping that it would finally stop bleeding. I have washed and worn it probably 10 times in 7 months. I got up after savasana and discovered that my yogitoes looked like a flash crime scene in the outline of my body. WTF?!?! I called GEC immediately and the man on the phone was very apologetic and said this is a well known issue and that I would be refunded. The problem as I see it is this: the brand as well as consumers are well aware of the MASSIVE ongoing quality issues, but nothing will change until it effects their bottom line. If we expect to see any meaningful change, we need to put our money where our mouth is. I pay lulu prices so that I DON'T have to worry about fit, performance and quality. It's time to put the screws to them and make certain that its understood that this is NOT ACCEPTABLE and that we will not continue to support shoddy products.

Anonymous said...

@ Anon 7:10 PM & 7:16 AM, Wow I guess visibly used stuff does get resold at full retail prices! That's gross what you've received. Clearly they don't even inspect items and clean up if necessary.

To the point a few days ago on the clothes being treated with formaldehyde and other unknown grossness…even if your items did look "clean," why you should always wash before you wear.

Seriously, how much will customers put up with? Receiving dirty clothes or the packagers having fun and being nasty. I've even read of customers receiving actual garbage (empty candy wrappers) with their shipments. I know you complain to the GEC as you should, and as someone suggested, hit their FB page too.

As for the bleeding, gosh you guys put up with a lot more than I ever would. Back to the store it would go and I'd not buy another item predicted to bleed.

If you are looking for yet another alternative for workout gear, this stuff is great. Sales are usually amazing and items go quickly. Order on-line or find a retailer near you.

I always find MPG for at least half the price in marshalls/TJMAxx...their stuff is fairly good (not on par with lululemon) but then i never had problems with bleeding (even really bright colors) with MPG.

Sourkraut said...

Yikes, all of these stories of bleeding are scaring me. Even weirder that they're all coming out here but there's been little mention of it on Facebook. I've been avoiding the known bleeders since they're not colors I'm dying to have but now to hear that basics like black (I have that Pace Setter skirt!) are bleeding worries me. It's one thing to have a bright color bleed in the wash but another to have it surprise you by bleeding all over your clothes/furniture when you're using it for its intended purpose. I've only recently discovered Lulu so while the rest of you might have a whole Lulu wardrobe already built up, I've only got a few pieces to tide me over until they fix this crap. That's why I'm not ready to give up on them yet. I just know no other brand out there has such great designs but I have definitely held back from purchasing certain things because of the potential for bleeding. Even worse that they have "known issues" as Killerboots experienced but don't feel the need to warn their customers about that before we wear the faulty items. Grrr. This discussion is making me a little annoyed with Lulu. And worried about the deep indigo top I just ordered thanks to you enablers!

I just came back from a visit to the the outlet near me and there were a few newer items already on MD...Lift and Separate bra in lilac dot/black and the sun sprinter shorts in all white (guessing likely these were a bit see thru??)

re: MPG, you can sometimes get this brand in Canada at Winners (aka TJX Co's), they go fast. I don't know about Marshalls, we have but haven't been. MEC (mountain equip co-op) sells some items as well. I have tried on their stuff and it's well made and good looking.

@ anon 12:03 PM, are you signed up for email alerts from your local stores? Go to LLL, find a store, click on the store and then "email sign up". They'll tell you what items and colors they received. LLA and others would know better - I imagine the email alerts don't tell you everything? but at least they tell you something.

I've got another bleeder.......Shocked??

I always wash my lulu loads w/ a shout color catcher. When I wash my heathered flash crb, I put it in the load w/ other bright lulu colors (like most of you guys, totally separate from my "normal" color clothing load). The color catcher has been coming out fairly clean and white for the past few washes. On the 10th or so wash, the color catcher from my lulu color load came out bright pink and my flash crb was in that load. I don't wear my crbs to run in....its too freaking hot. I wear a sports bra and use my crb after my run to cover up to run errands and such. The flash crb hasn't bled on my sports bras or shorts, I think. But, I ALWAYS wear my flash clothing w/ black. I am too scared to wear it w/ my lighter or white clothing even though it would look great w/ my dune DSCs. And it's sooooo stupid that I spend $45 on a tank that has limited wear. I am trying to avoid bleeding colors. I have been fairly lucky. I only have 2 items that bleed thus far: heathered flash crb and surge ls swiftly. I cannot understand why the clothing bleeds after so many washes. I think that is so strange. It's not like the product is being treated differently. Oh wait, I forgot. The pH of my sweat is different in the summer. Yep, that's it. LOL. At least lulu isn't using that excuse anymore. I think.

Anonymous said...

Yep... I'm signed up, but honestly, their updates are not very accurate. Stuff in the alerts either isn't in yet or sold out. So frustrating. Thank you though, had I not already known about the alerts, it would have been really appreciated. Thanks again. :)

@8:20 am, I don't know what came over me, but I threw the bandana in with all the goodies I was buying in Vegas. Not gonna lie, I shook my head at myself a couple of times for spending $18 on a bandana, but now I'm so glad I did. Sat I went for a run, then directly to teach PiYo & grabbed the bandana on the way to class. I was already hot & sweaty when class started & the a/c was on the fritz, so it got really warm in the room (I think we hit 103 that day + humidity) and I'm a ridiculous sweater. All that to say, the bandana was amazing! It was totally dry after class, even though my hair was dripping wet. I would buy it in more colors if I could! And it kept my hair back whole driving my Jeep with the top down. Love it!

I use the Mat for PiYo. Even though I sweat like a construction worker outside in a heat wave, I have no slippage on the Mat and love it. Mine also stank when I first got it, but after a few uses it went away.

One more thing in this marathon post....I wore my seaside dot/ray pacesetter today for a short run, immediately taught Turbo Kick, then went to lunch, and I had NO bleeding. I'd worn it once before, but it wasn't as intense of a workout, so I didn't sweat as much. Hopefully washing will go successfully too!

Mine was fine in a super sweaty class, and washed fine too. I washed it cold with all black items just in case.

Sadly I posted the pics of the WUC review. I do not think it was a sizing issue. I am 5'3" and weigh 118 lbs. I measure a 32, 25, 33 inches. I did try to size up to a size 6 but they looked awful and I had baggy material around my knees and waist. I normally wear a size 0 or 2 in designer clothing. Lulu is the only place I take a size 4. I talked to the educator about the see thru and ct and she agreed and told me to email lulu on the website. I was really bummed out and shocked so I had to take a photo to confirm I wasn't hallucinating.

Thanks so much for the bandana review! I think I want one, but I'm going to try and hold out for the MD price... Unless they surprise me with tons of things I must have in tonight's upload, then I'll just throw it in my cart too. :)

OT - my splits59 order arrived from the sale ALREADY! they bumped me to priority just cause that's what they always seem to do!! Glorious reveling GLEE! I really LOVE splits! They are so chic and classy. Understated and refined. But not dowdy. Today I'm a total babe in my splits gear and happy as a leaping dolphin!
ps thanks for all the jeans suggestions! I'm having fun googling!

Hey Minda what did you order from splits?...my order still hasn't shipped :( ... everything gets so late here in nyc...

LuluAddict said...

MPG sent me some stuff to try out. If you search the blog you can find it. It is true they have good sales. I like the bottoms and jacket they sent me a lot. The tanks did not work for me at all. The built in bra is not supportive. I did like the one sport bra they sent me. Most of their workout stuff is made of polyester so I found it hot. Some of the seams are flat seamed and some are not. You definitely have to try it on - the fit is not consistent across styles.

Anon 1:27pm Hi there! I know what you mean about things arriving late! I'm east coast too - (Florida!)
I got 2 full length dusty tights, 1 nova capri with granita color stripe, 1 granita rona jacket, 1 coco support tank in black. I'm thinking about getting the Rona in white and black too while I can. I am really loving this jacket and the mesh details with that reflective chevron on the arm. I've been looking at that jacket for MONTHS but I didn't want to pay 168$ for it, 84 is more like it LOL. What did you get?

I got turned on to Lulu for their running gear. I love their running skirts, run crops and swiftly's. However, I also do hot yoga and love love love Yogabela clothing.(www.yogabela.com.) The materials are fantastic, quick drying, maintain their shape, sexy but supportive and made in USA. They also have some great bright fun prints that don't BLEED. Fantastic yoga wear.

I have been drooling over rona jacket ever since i saw it! But this is my first order with splits59 (i got 2 ashby tanks--as I remember reading that you really liked them ;) to see what is my size as i was in between XS and S)...really want to order it but need to wait and see what size!!! Enjoy your workout gear!!!!

Minda, one more question!
how supportive is splits59 coco support tank? i.e. can your run it it (i am 32A/B).
thanks!!!

@ Sandra: that stinks that the crops fit you like that. I would have been mortified! I love love love my embossed dot WU's and have had no probs with them. I just wonder how one pair is opaque and then another is downright see through. So odd! Hope Lulu's figures it out.

I understand that things fit people differently (i.e post power crops hate me and my runners calves) however it seems like this case (the dot wu's) is pretty darn extreme.

Did you get a response?

Minda said...

Hi Anon 2:06pm I was super curious how SUPPORTIVE the coco SUPPORT tank would be too LOL - this will not be a running top for me. (we've got more bounce in california song comes to mind LOLOLOL)
its silky, lightly compressing and springy with a BOUNCE, flattering, good coverage, soooo breathable, very comfortable and secure I really like how it feels on me. I will use this for barbell classes, pure barre classes, spin, elliptical, cardio dance. but NOT running. then again I'm a 36 D. Not sure how an A/B would fare! depending on how this tank washes - I would want a few more! -- something i really love about the dusty tight is the draw string - thats ideal for running and jumping rope. let me know how you like your ashbys!!!

That WUC review with the sheer and the CT - yikes! I saw another poster on here saying she thought the fit was off because of the wrinkles / gathers on the front in that review picture. I'm guessing the reviewer sized UP, and that's why there are gathers - however that should HELP with sheer was and CT. I guess that because I just bought solid coal WUC's (have been waiting years since they last had them!). I had heard about sheerness and CT so I sized up from my usual 6 (have several older WU in a 6) to an 8. This causes me to get gathers like that reviewer.

In general I'm just so annoyed. I want these crops so badly and am tempted to keep them unless I remind myself I'm an idiot to spend over $70 on a thin crop that is Sheer and gives me CT (and yes, despite sizing up these do). I have them at home and I'm 4 hrs from a store so I'm going to miss the return window - but trust me these are going back. Quality issue is not my fault!!!

I had my Flash Scoop Neck Tank bleed onto a Deep Breath Tank and a Power Dance Tank and in addition to the bleeding the Flash Scoop Neck Tank got purple stains/lines on it and when I took all three garments to the store they were completely will to refund me so I was able to replace the items. I wasn't happy about the bleeding but I was glad that they gave me no hassle about returning the items.

@ Sandra: TQ for posting the no holds barred of the WUC. I am an ardent fan of WUC. Your review certainly put issue into perspective and stop me in time from getting the latest release of WUC and also all other lulu bottoms until they are properly reviewed. I am for one not sorry about missing out grabbing the latest lulu coz there will always be something much better in the next upload which I will be willing to part my $$ with. So pointless to pay for so called premium and blood-sucking expensive crops just to go through the heartache and inconvenience.
