Caspian Scoop Me Up, Dense Purple Scuba, and More

Photo of the Caspian Blue Scoop Me Up tank. Shown with Currant Wunder Unders.

Astro Wunder Unders are coming in the Blazer Fossil print.

A photo of the Black Sun Runner Hybrid.

Photo of the Dense Purple Scuba compared to a Majestic Purple Cool Racerback and Cuddle Up (I think) jacket. Thanks to Kate for the photo. From what I am reading the Dense Purple Scuba is gorgeous in person.

Iconic Wrap with Currant Wunder Unders

Inside of the Om bag.

I don't necessarily care for the pieces but I like the Pow/Pop Orange/Ray combo in these photos. Pow Sun Runner Hybrid, Ray Tank, Pop Orange Light As Air skirt.

This girl makes the Light As Air tank look pretty cute (from the from anyway). Shown with the Mirage Light As Air skirt.

Wow! That Pow Pink/Ray/Pop Orange outfit is really loud and really cute (colorswise). It's like daring drivers not to see you, as you run. Safety, safety.

Anonymous said...

Yes I really like that bright run outfit too. I want a run skirt but for some reason that one looks a little apron-y to me...

Has anyone seen the currant Scuba Hoodie in their stores? All the stores in my area have every color, but that one. Sad. :(

The light as air tank is by far the ugliest Lulu item I've ever seen! :S

Anonymous said...

If the light as air skirt was longer, I would seriously tempted by the pop orange one. Not enough coverage for me.

Love the blue tank, but ohhhhhh I hate how these tanks seem to make "back fat!" Boo! That part is very unflattering....

Arghhh, must have that Caspian Blue Scoop Me Up. I was being so good this month too. Just two items so far.

BTW, My Habit (Amazon) site has activewear on sale. One of the product lines is David Lerner. Anyone tried this one? Looks high end, like what the stars wear when they're being snapped by the paparazzi as they're leaving their workouts.

My dream wish list: currant pace setter, dense purple ebb & flow crops, and power purple define!

The caspian scoop me up is pretty.

I paired caspian and pop orange for my run today and it looked gorgeous. Loving the pastels right now!

None of the items appeal to me but I definitely agree that the pow & pop orange combo looks great and this girl definitely pulls off that sun runner hybrid + light as air skirt. I will still not be buying an of it!

She also looks great in the light as air tank but I still stand by that it is the most hideous thing; I will never be able to get past its shapelessness and that it's a thong front sewn in the back cut out. How did this ever get approved by ALL of the design team. Seriously. Or is it another practical joke/experiment by LLL: let's see how many of them go for THIS one bwahahaha!

Damn you lulu and that great looking currant Om bag with the well done interior (per usual). I do not need another bag, I do not need another bag, repeat x...

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the dense purple Scuba pic! I already ordered the currant one and I need another Scuba like I need another hole in my head. But, I cannot resist those! I wear them literally every single day in the fall and winter. So...now I have yet another Scuba coming in the dense purple, thanks to you. :)

Does anyone know if the Dense Purple Scuba will be an in-store product? I went to my Oakridge (Vancouver) location on Thursday, and the educator I asked didn't know anything about it.

@ Trisarahtops - I love your black cat avatar. Black cats are the best!

back from my local LLL...racks and racks of pow and pop in tanks and crops and pants...all made in China. they also had, surprisingly, a full line up of Rehearsal LS. I almost bought the static coal (black?) but looked over the seams (shoddy double stitching, inconsistent tightness) and saw Made in China. Put that puppy right back on the rack. they didn't have much "on sale" compared to online WMTM. they had the OM tote, all colors. It's big...like, "I'm not sure if I should use it as carry-on luggage or to tote a small child in" big. probably make a great diaper bag...a mighty expensive diaper bag, at that.

i had better luck upstairs at athleta, semi-annual clearance sale, and across the way in nordstroms...zella on sale, thank you very much. returned items at both stores with absolutely no hassles (one item was worn and washed and athleta said "if you don't love it, we'll take it back"; nordstroms said "would you like your refund back on your credit card or store credit?").

actually, athleta is also doing a customer service survey in store at their multiple in-store ordering computer kiosks...fill out the survey and get entered to win $300 athleta GC. um, sure, where do I sign up? i giggled to myself when the athleta CSR was explaining the survey and why athleta wants to know if customer service is meeting their customers' expectations. hmmm, maybe LLL should take a page out of that play book?

OT ... has anyone had bleeding issues with their indigo/mirage turbo run shorts? i washed mine the other day..and all the white trim/piping is now pink =( how sad! i loved them until i washed them... =(

What size do you guys order in the Scubas? I really want the dense purple! I wear a 6 in most tops and an 8 in the define. I probably won't be layering it over anything thick like a sweater (I'm in southern Cali) so should I stick with size 6? Thanks! :)

Anonymous said...

LOL!!! yea really! :) Funny how I ordered some Gap online and it shipped out 2 hrs later!!!! I order Lulu and it's 2 days before shipped.... Not to mention, I called Gap...was all nice over the phone and they gave me 15% off my order! lulu never does that... :(

Anonymous said...

I'm a 6 in the define and like my scubas in a 6 too. They're a bit roomy. I feel like a 5 would be perfect and I'd rather have a little room than be squeezed. I don't usually layer much underneath, a tank and that's it.

Pretty sure the Light As Air tank isn't a joke...if you pay attention to fashion at all, the looser fitting tops with cute detail in the back are very popular right now. I can understand not wanting the look in your workout gear, but the idea that the design team is laughing at its customers is grating on my nerves. I think this tank is a definite size down item therefore looks even boxier on some women. And the model rocking it LOOKS GREAT in EVERYTHING she wears! I always say, damn, look at those legs!! :)

I just went to my first ever Lulu store!! I have been solely an online addict as I don't have a store anywhere near me!! Wow!! How fun!! The heathered white scuba has sparkle thread throughout and it's awesome!! I had to get it!! Took back my pow in stride with faulty seams and got a pow define, which I missed online, double yay!! There were current scubas, not my color bit soft... I also got the lift an separate bra which is AMAZING!! My size was sold out online so supa stoked to get this too!' great fun in Seattle!! Yay!!

Sandra said...

I wear a 4 in tops and I also take a 4 in Scuba but a 6 in the define. Hope this helps :)

Love the Seatle store! Not very big but super nice peeps.

Went to Bellevue WA store, saw "pot" scuba; it was too "young" IMO. I wouldnt describe it as "soft" but as "brushed". It was still thick and very sturdy as my Silver Spoon Pig Pink is. Very cute but I feel I couldn't pull it off...
Heathered gray and white scuba with sparkles is VERY pretty but made me look super pale :( They did NOT have the dense purple Scuba :( ordered it online.
Currant WUC... They were sheer and material was thin like the black embossed WUC which does not work for me.
OH!!! The black WU pant fall tran 12 quilt 30 or something like that was gorgeous!!!! It was not sheer but not as thick as older Luon BUT the triangle gusset was a killer, it didn't look bad but I could feel uncomfortable like it would eventually cause CT.
I wasn't in the market for pants from LLL but the band colors IS really pretty.

You are gorgeous Michelle (3:51) BTW... :) love the cowboy hat! :) Always love reading your posts!

@ Trisarahtops, 1:32 again - no doubt & awesome! In my family we have had black cats over the years and they have been nothing but the coolest and sweetest. Of course personality also comes from how we take care of them and love them. Cheers.

@ 2:41 PM, how condescending "if you pay attention to fashion at all". It has to do with good design regardless of trends, and THAT is not it. The Light as Air tank is a major design misstep with the--YES--thong attached to the back. Peace all.

Anonymous said...

It does look like a thong in the back... :) I agree with you Anon. @ 5:48PM. Something can be trendy but a poor design still stays a poor design and we're looking at one !!!

Anonymous said...

Didn't mean to sound condescending Anon 5:48, my apologies. Was just trying to point out that this look is very popular in "regular" clothing.

I'm newish here and I've posted once ogr twice before (I'm the one who asked about your one favorite lulu piece).
I'm really liking the look of the iconic wrap, but I can't pay that price if I want to buy a scuba. So, what's out there that is close to the iconic wrap but less expensive? Any quality brand will do. Thanks!

Michelle said...

Thanks!! So sweet!!

Anonymous said...

the issue of the iconic wrap being too thin....at least in these newer versions, seem to be a repetitive opinion on LLL site. would not advise to get one at 98 dollars if after 2 weeks u will find a hole in the arm. save it for a scuba.

i havent bought any of the new scubas.....i have a cuddle from last year and a LE scuba from 2 years ago. love love love.

I'm as curious as Anon 7:38 to hear if anyone's found something similar to the Iconic Wrap out there. I tried a Karma Samadhi Wrap from Nordstrom that looks similar but the fit was off. Not to mention that it was still pretty pricey but did seem to be a better material than Lulu's wrap. Unfortunately, even if the material were better with the Iconic Wrap that cropped back looks awful on me. Accentuates my big hips in a bad way.

@Sourkraut
Saw this Cross Drape Pullover at Beyond Yoga.
http://www.beyondyoga.com/p-236-cross-drape-pullover.aspx
Looks similar to the Iconic Wrap, without the thumbholes. I am not familiar with either, thus I can't comment on the fit nor fabric content/feel/texture. Perhaps others (Minda, are you familiar with this top?) can help. Only one size left in the sale though, XL. But it's only $35.00!

Minda, there are still the quilted, white Short Shorts left in medium for $10.00 and the quilted vest in white that I bought early on, in medium for $15.00! I hear that they are calling your name... :)

I looked at BY the other night online and was impressed with their sale. Very reasonable. I did not order anything since I was not sure about my size although I have ordered there before but only their cold weather stuff and they were fine.
@Minda: I read your comment about Hanro undies so I ordered to check it out. The rep called me the next day to verify my address. There is about 600 numbers between me and my closest neighbor? She said her UPS map shows it stops way before my house. I thought that was too funny. Yes, I am in the boonies but trust you me the Fedex and UPS guys know exactly where I live. I'll let you know how those undies do with my daily use. Oh and Splits59. They had a sale on their Helena in black so I ordered the xs. I hope this works for me. I liked the looks of this one so I took a chance. I'll post my review when I get it. I just got my WU and scubas in the mail just now but I am sweaty from work out and yard work so I will wait til after shower to see how they fit. Fun day...

The new Iconic wraps that you can see on the Canadian site are made of Vitasea. They are made of Pima super soft cotton with a little spandex for stretch. I don't own the "Old" version but did buy the new one. It's awesome ! Would recommend it.

@ Pink Peony: Amazon.com has a great assortment of BY crops and leggings at better prices/selection that BY.com, currently. I'm on my second order as the first batch's sizes did not fit right. I'm usually an 8 in LLL so I ordered a Medium in BY. Too loose in the waist for my liking. So, free return shipping, and re-ordered everything and a few more crops in size Small. Awaiting their delivery early next week. Also, I just got a pair of BY gathered crops from eBay in a Small and they are A-W-E-S-O-M-E. So soft, great construction, not see through (navy blue), no CT.

I haven't (yet). I wore them for the first time today- sweating a ton during a 15 mile run. I washed them for the first time afterwards and I checked the white since I saw your post. Mine looked ok, but I may have less pink on my waistband.

Anonymous said...

Has anyone washed the currant wuc? Do they bleed?

Anonymous said...

I just saw two iconic wraps on eBay for $180.00. Each Why? What is the reasoning behind this? They are $98.00 new. Are the older ones better made ?

Pink Peony 4 said...

@ anon 1:39 pm. Oh thank you thank you for being so thoughtful to respond. I am hearing more good things about the gathered crops being really comfy and soft. I like that. I guess I should order some so I can detach myself from the Lulu colors. Somehow the other company's colors don't sit well with me. Let me know what you think when you get yours, ok? I am a solid 4 in LLL so should I get the XS then? I am getting slightly excited by this. I do have a lot of crops and have more than a hundred or two (i am ashamed--- don't judge me.) lulu items right now. I have been giving them to my kids and sisters. I do wear them at home a lot and to work in the yard. I work out 4 times a week though and I use 6 items every time I go. Justified!!! It's all good but if I like something else, I'll go ahead and get it. BY sounds really comfy and promising. I'll be waiting for more "other" product reviews on this blog.

I received my currant and dense purple scubas last weekend and LOVE them. The currant color isn't quite as saturated as I had hoped (and I had heard others mention this as well). Actually the dense purple is not as saturated either! I was hoping for the same saturation level as a new black one is. This looks like it has been washed a few times. That is fine, I guess, but just not what I was expecting based on the pictures. Still, I love both colors. If you remember the ocksteady color from last year, they are similar in saturation as that one.

And to the person who asked about scuba sizing--I am 5'6", around 145 pounds and an 8 fits perfectly. It is snug around the mid section, but not overly so--you can easily fit a tank or fitted t-shirt underneath. I am quite chesty (34 DD so I need to fit the girls in too). The size 6 squashes the girls like pancakes.

My sister is the same height/weight as me but she lifts a lot more upper body weights so her shoulders are broader and she prefers a size 10. My suggestion would be to order your regular LLL size. They don't shrink up, so they should fit just like you want them to when you try them on.

hello can you please do a color comparison of new blue, wish blue, and pigment blue? they're not new colors but i was wondering what the differences are. thanks.
