NEW! Venus Tank & Venus CropVenus

Venus Tank and Venus Crop

Venus Tank and Crop

A new tank called the Venus Tank is out. The top portion looks like it's made out of luxtreme but the bottom looks like Swift to me. I'll post when I find out more information. (It is Swift on the bottom) The bottoms look like regular luon. to me but I'll update when I find out more.

I like the look of this tank. This is the bra style that works for bustier women and has good coverage and support. It's supposed to be a medium support tank.

the super super wrinkly material?

Venus tank makes the back "look like" there is "back fat," even when maybe a person doesn't have any back fat. yuck....

Yay for having a new design. Not sure this particular one will work on me since it might hug my belly and get stuck on my big hips rather than skim over it nicely as it does on these models. I'm also not a fan of the swift fabric. Just doesn't feel quite right to me.

Bleh, the tank is an easy pass for me. Too long on the bottom and I don't care for the side split. Plus like the person above said, back fat city!

I'll be curious to see what makes the Venus Crops "different" but probably won't buy them.

Has anyone noticed how they are putting "triangular" or "oval" gussets for most pants/crops, EXCEPT for the ones where it has been inconsistent (WUC, Gather & Crows, etc.). We see what you are up to there, Lulu!

Anon 11:16 again, I meant they are putting "triangular" or "oval" on the website descriptions!

I fear those crops would bleed all over my carseat. Nice colour, though!

Trolley Square has had the crops for a few days. The fossil ones are luon, the deep indigo are denim. They also have these new lightweight dropped crotch crop called Free Mind crops, comes in black, heathered charcoal and heathered indigo colors. They have a higher waist and pleats in the front, elastic waist, made of lyocell, $88.

That top looks ├╝ber long! And with most of these women being tall and me being short, 5'4" this top would look like a dress on me! Too bad because this is probably the first top where I like the distribution of the mirage print. And like Minda said if its a wrinkly top it's an easy pass!

Anonymous said...

Not to mention....who wants added back fat in appearance! LOL... NOT ME!!

Anonymous said...

I like the top. My booty b bangin and I always welcome a flouncy top for when I want coverage. I can't complain though I'm more a j.lo less nicki minaj.

Yes, what is with wrinkle city these days on the LLL gear? On that (previously posted) caspian blue swiftly and for several images of roll down shorts of late, ALL are very wrinkly. I don't know if LLL steams their garments before setting out? It certainly doesn't look like it in these images...right out of the box onto the floor, for people to try on/model/buy...

I will pass on the Venus tank. I only wear fitted tops (CRB). The colour of the dark crops looks nice, but not a must have for me. Have ENOUGH crops and all of it needs to get rotated.

Sourkraut said...

In the last set of pics (with the mirage print top) are the crops indigo or some new purpley blue color? It looks gorgeous on my monitor! Like a color royalty (like me!) would wear. If that's a new color I will be a happy camper. Assuming it's not a bleeder, of course. So sad that has to be our first thought when Lulu comes out with something new.

That top will not work for inversions. It would flop over face and bare all!

Anonymous said...

Top looks maternity to me.

Anonymous said...

The back looks very similar to the Optimal tank, which does not seem to be very popular. Also, did you notice how wrinkly the bottoms look?

Do you think this is what's in the banner photo on the crops page? In RED? I might give it a shot if it comes in red!

Yea I agree 12:23 on both comments. overall...many of the as of late lulu creations, have been quite unflattering! and don't get me started on the wrinkled materials they post. if it doesn't look good on the model, I don't buy....weird Lulu hasn't figured that one out, yet! Sounds like from some of what we've been seeing, they need to fire their while design team! LOL

Anonymous said...

"whole design team" darn iPad!! LOL

I would LOOOVE to spend some money on Lulu because it's been waaaay too long!!! fingers crossed something good comes out in the next upload! I'm not holding my breath tho.......

What is lulu thinking these days?? That horrible run singlet (aka cape city) and now this tank? Just gross. I don't even understand the purpose of this tank... Is it for running or yoga? Or is it for a new sport that incorporates both? Maybe they should say it's for "roga" lol

Anonymous said...

I thought something very similar to what Anon 12:33 posted. This new Venus tank is like the Find Bliss tank but with more supportive straps. That tank went to WMTM pretty quickly, if I recall.

@ anon 1:11

Roga....LOL!! Hysterical!

Not a fan of the top. Kinda wrinkly. Crops are kinda cute though.

Anonymous said...

Cute top but will not work on me and my A cup. I prefer not to look like a 12 year old boy :)

Hoping for a caspian blue CRB and FTB :)

I also noticed the currant headband so I would say we will see more currant soon. Same thing happened with Pop Orange. Headband was released and then the tops followed.

Anonymous said...

Tifferoo ~ The Free Mind crops sound like yet another pair of ugly MC-Hammertime/Harem crops. Ugh, just send them to WMTM immediately! Seriously, no one is interested in dropped crotch styles. When are the designers actually going to take note of this feedback?

Anonymous said...

They probably will use all our suggestions...they pass on to their "almighty design team"...to make a bonfire at one of their yogi retreats!! LOL!

Anonymous said...

The slipless headband comes in a color called "deep indigo/bruised berry slub denim". Maybe these crops could be the same fabric, since it looks almost purpley?

Anonymous said...

Every week, I get my hopes up that maybe this will be the week. This will be the week that they upload some nice new Power Ys. Or more NLTs. Or that elusive BB CRB.

And every week it seems like we just get something like this...thing. Which will probably be 1) wrinkly, 2) sheer, and 3) prone to bleeding. Oh yes, and 4) expensive.

Anonymous said...

OMG seriously, it looks like an apron! I love the tops that are tight on top and loose on the bottom but this is gross!

Anonymous said...

pass on this one too. i am hoping for a nlt with the bra with the mirage pattern, or mirage speeds without the naked seam..fingers crossed! i am fairly new to lulu and bummed with these weeks of not buying and finding things to love and establish my collection, am a little happy that my wallet has been safe, generally.

Anonymous said...

Apron??? I think I saw Julia Childs cooking with a top like that--her apron top! LOL....

Anonymous said...

Anon 1:11 you really cracked me up!!!

Anonymous said...

Hideous. This thing is plain and simply hideous! What a waste of fabric!

Laura Strate Madsen said...

Bleh. I actually liked the top at first until I realized how long and billowy it is. All I want are good running tops! If I could just have some more Push Ur Limit tanks, I'd be the happiest gal in the world!

OT: Nancy Rose info reply email to me. Asking about two of the crops, where items are manufactured - ct concerns,washing/care. etc. she didn't reply with specific shape of gusset but over all answered it all. -I mentioned there are several ladies out there interested in finding new brands to try out.
Hi Minda,

Thank you for your inquiry/excitement about the brand. All of our products are manufactured in Peru and are of the highest quality construction and fabrication. We take our quality, fit and style VERY seriously and will always stand behind it.

The Plank Crop and Grasshopper Crop are identical in fit, the only difference is that the grasshopper is shorter, hitting right below the knee and has ruching on the outside bottom leg opening. The Plank Crop hits mid-calf and is our best selling style. The grasshopper has been very popular this summer; it is a novelty version of our Plank Crop. You can’t wrong with either one (and we promise NO CT !!)

We do not consider our clothes to be high-maintenance however; we do recommend hanging dry for longest life of your garment, specifically our bottoms.

It is great to hear that ladies are willing to try some new brands. We certainly hope that Nancy Rose Performance will become a new favorite to wear.

Thank you for all your feed back, it very appreciated as customer service is a very high priority for NRP.

I agree, the top is useless for inversions. I wore a Power Technique tank to yoga and wouldn't you know it we did headstands that day. The entire tank bottom flipped over even with the drawstring pulled tight. Luckily I was wearing Ebb & Flow crops which totally covers my stretch marks all the way to my belly button. My eldest is heading off to college next month, but the stretch marks and wrinkly belly button remain.

Let's all just say "Roga" when the educators quiz us on what we will be using our lulu items for! Love Roga! :)

Not liking the top at all. The back actually looks like the Get Fit tank, but the bottom is too, too much for me, personally. But if you can rock it, rock on!

Like Kristin mentioned above, the crops look promising. I'm all for crops like WU that have some different detailing, especially at the bottom of the legs. So we'll see. Just afraid that the lighter fossil- like color may be see through. Ongoing saga of new lulus....

Sourkraut said...

@Anon 2:05 PM - Ooh! I just checked out that color in the headband and LOVE it. If Lulu were to come out with a bunch of their pants in that style I would probably break down and finally buy a pair of (ridiculously expensive) Lulu pants. Thanks for the tip, even if it means I'll get my hopes up about nothing. We shall see. I'll keep my eye on the next upload.

Sourkraut said...

Er, pants in that color. Not style. Silly me.

Is it okay to use a photo from this blog as an example of an item to sell on ebay?

Anonymous said...

Another poufy top, but a wrinkly one this time? Why? More money to spend on another brand and NOT lululemon.

Anonymous said...

I just looked at the Nancy Rose website, and wow, her tops are just gorgeous! I would seriously snap up about five of them right now, but most of them (except for the basic racerbacks and t-s) are $72 and up. Yikes. And I thought lululemon was pricey.

But hey, if they're going to hold up, look good, not bleed and last for a long time....

Minda said...

Anon 3:12 yeah i thought 72$ was steep for a workout tank. i mentioned it in my email to the customer service . . lol she declined to comment on that part of my feedback HAHAHA

I tried on the Venus tank today in the Orlando store as they were unpacking it. The light blue color was amazing but the top was sooo long! I am 5'3" though. And it definitely runs small. I have a large 34DD chest and wear a 6 in every top and had to do a size 8 for this to fit without being way too tight. I loved the color but thought it would look a little silly in a yoga or barre class, especially bending over.

Anonymous said...

After reading my above post (Orlando store) I decided to further clarify..... The bra part is what was so tight. The shelf bra actually fit but the luxtreme seam came to the middle of my breast. Bizarre. Had it looked proportioned imay have been swayed to buy. The swift part wasn't tight at all, just very long. If the price was around $40-$42 I would have bought this but couldnt justify the price tag for the excess of flimsy material.

Also checked out the lulu Orlando outlet. They didn't have anything great except a lift and separate in the black/purple polka dot print.

At my store ,Trolley Square, they received the NLT in pow light, caspian, and a white body w/silvery bra, power y's in solid pow and metallic silver, caspian swiftly sl , boogies in that deep indigo denim and mirage. Last week they received the wu's in that deep indigo denim color. I like it in pants, not sure about boogies though (I would think the denim material would defeat the purpose for hot yoga....but I see great potential for fashion felons to try to rock them as real denim shorts out and about). The Venus crops are that same material/color. The Venus crop also comes in regular black luon, and the fossil (fossil is super soft, but would show every single flaw, probably like ray). The Venus tank is swift on the bottom. I like some of the dropped crotch styles, but these were hideous on my curvy body. On me at least, the waist fit like Gap jeans from the early 90's, the pleats look like I wrapped a towel between my legs and tucked the ends into the waistband. But they looked cute on some of the tiny Ed's.

Anonymous said...

Hi Minda, thanks for the Nancy rose info. I too checked out her site and liked the bottoms, also think she might fit me since I am small and find it difficUlt to find a good fit. By the by, it doesn't look like she addresses if her items have a gusset or not?

groovegirl said...

Hold on now, a dropped crotch crop with front pleats? LOL. I can't help but picture the SNL Mom Jeans skit meets Hammertime. I cannot wait to see pics.

Minda said...

@anon 4:29 no gusset details! But mine should arrive in the mail sometime LOL I will let you know what mine look like!

@sourkraut: I bought the deep indigo denim club WU pants last week. I never thought I'd like it but I did. They are hemming it right now. It was really pretty to look at. I had to size up on all denim crops and pants I buy since they feel tighter. I usually don't buy pants since they are too hot for workouts but I am wearing mine in the colder months with boots and such. I also bought the groove pants in mirage waist and deep indigo. Also a good surprise but I am excited about the WU pants more than grooves. Hope you get to try one on. They were unpacking these last week at my store and I got to try them.

LuluAddict said...

Thanks for posting the Nancy Rose info.

I don't know why lulu is suggesting the Venus top is for yoga. It's made of lulu's typical run materials -swift and luxtreme. I don't know why everything is so long. Even if I ran in it I don't want it that long. This probably makes the 46th? or so run/tank top with Swift material used in it and I still haven't bought one to try. I just don't see it as being the breathable or wicking. Fine for tiny shorts but as a tank - eh.

I really like the caspian blue color. can't wait till the crb comes out in that color. A tata tamer would be great in that color as wel.l
