Spotted in Stores - Pow Elevation Stripe Speed Shorts

I think I might have posted about this earlier but can't remember - there are out Pow Pink Elevation Stripe Speed Shorts out in the stores now. They are 2-way stretch. (Thanks to Tiffany for the photo.)

OT - I got the Gather & Crow crops with the pow pink waist band and wore them this morning to power yoga and I look down and the stupid Lulu logo on the pant leg had fallen off completely....what a joke! And embarrassing! The clothes are so crappy at this point that their stupid logo isn't even sticking to brand new items!!! I hadn't even washed them yet. Seriously pathetic.

If they are the 2-way stretch, would you recommend sizing down?

@ anon 8:33
I don't size down. I wear the same size whether they are 2- or 4-way. I love the 2-way speeds.

I adore these. But I'm not going to buy them though.......bleeder??? I am sticking to my guns, NO POTENTIAL BLEEDERS for me. Although I love these, I gotta be strong. I don't live near a store, so returning an item is a big PITA.

They're cute but not at all a must for me. And I know that I would tire of the horizontal stripes. I will save my money for the special Sea Wheeze gear. Would like to have the red/teal ss.

anyone have any issues with bruised berry wunder under pants: bleeding or too sheer or even smell?

Anonymous said...

OT but I'm also curious about the bruised berry colour, anyone had bleeding issues? I havn't bought a single new coloured item because I refuse to deal with bleeding and shipping it back etc. but I love the look of bruised berry!!

What is the difference between the 2 way and 4 way stretch? I have tried on a few pairs lately, like the blush color and elevation stripe, that were super stiff. Are those 2 way stretch? My older pairs are really soft compared to the last few releases.

I have the bruised berry/elevation stripe sun sprinter short. I've worn it on several sweaty runs and washed it with other dark clothes. No bleeding at all.

They are 2 way stretch and feel like the diaper covers I used to put on my babies. Stiff and hold the moisture in-kind of like a personal sauna. The sweat shows, not too badly since the color is light, but I'd rather not look like I wet myself.
The fit is super cute, the length is great, love the look, but I wouldn't buy the 2 way stretch again. It's not great for a sweaty workout, which is how I use my lulu stuff.

My bruised berry CRB does not bleed.

I like the 2 way stretch/stiffer material, better than the 4 way stretch. 4 way gets too droopy, especially on a long run. Sweat showing depends on the colour/pattern of the short, not the material. I have some that show, some that don't show. I don't care as I'm running outside and am gone! I don't find the 2 way too hot at all. Quite comfortable and have worn for half marathons with zero issues.

Anon 12:10 again - I'm referring to the speed shorts (it is the only short I run in).

I have BB Polocrosse and they are lovely! I soaked them in the sink, no purple water. I've also worn them at least 3 times, no bleeding. I tried on the BB WU in store and I didn't have a problem with them being thin or sheer. It did have the triangle gusset, though that has never been a problem with me.

Anonymous said...

hmm. on the website they wrote "diamond gusset"......i will consider getting a pair but if it's false advertisement.....im sending it right back.

I've had BB bleeders...the waistband of the sun sprinter short and the hot n sweaty shorts. Both luxtreme. No problem with my Luon polocrosses or define, but heard about groove shorts bleeding.

Anonymous said...

yuck, pass or me...don't like the pattern on these shorts!

Anonymous said...

"pass for me"

So frustrating that it's so hit or miss when it comes to BB bleeding. I really want a new sports bra in that colour so I might have to give it a try.

Anyone who's had bleeding and had to ship an item back, is lulu paying for this shipping somehow? That's the part that would really get to me, having to pay to return a faulty item, what a waste of money..

2-way stretch is the original fabric from the beginning! I've been buying these for a few years and the 4-way is newer! Your wearing them too small if its like a sauna/ sausage encasing! Don't wear your tights size either- i actually size up my hips say a size 4 (35 biggest part around butt btw) and i wear a size 6 and they fit perfectly- they arn't meant to fit like a tight but flow away from the body- very cool and comfy!! If you vanity size skip the two way and squeeze into super stretch tight shorts i suppose if thats you thing!

I have the Turbo shorts with the BB waistband, and I haven't had any bleeding issues with them. Yet. Knock on wood. Throw salt over my shoulder. Cross my fingers.

In general, luxtreme are prone to bleeding.

I prefer the 2-way to the 4-way stretch for shorts also. The 4-way stretch Turbo shorts look like pajama bottoms on me. Big and droopy. The 2-way hold their shape even after working out. That being said, I have a 4-way stretch Pace Setter running skirt that I love. It has a flirtatious flip when running.

It's 31C/87.8F where I am. I just came back from a 10K run in a pair of my 4 way stretch Speed Shorts. They were soaked. At the end, all I could think was: I'm done with the 4 way stretch, much prefer the stiffer 2 way stretch SS.

Anonymous said...

The 4 way is so much of a better fit on my body, I won't even buy the 2 way anymore. The comfort of 4 way is uncomparable to the stiffness of the 2 way. No question, 4 way is the only way to go

Anonymous said...

Agreed! LOVE the 4 way and send back anything I buy that ends up being 2 way.

Anonymous said...

I bought the BB Polocrosse and no bleeding! Not sure if I got lucky OR the pre-treating wash worked. All these quality control issues have me worried....c'mon lulu!

Anonymous said...

I have the BB Polocrosse crop and BB CRB. No bleeding and when I pre-soaked and washed, the water was clear.

I find it so incredibly rude when a poster takes it on themselves to tell another poster they are wearing their clothes too small...and then feels the need to post their own measurements and sizes. RUDE.
Fit is individual, I prefer the 4 way for running, I don't find the 2way comfortable for running but do like them for casual wear...the 2 way are a bit confining in the legs for me, not tight, I just prefer the "flow" of the 4 way. I have tried sizing up and then the waist is so large that it won't even cinch up small enough. It's individual ladies.

I like how soft and flowy the 4 way stretch is. I got the blush quartz turbos and was shocked to get them. Because it was first time I got a 2 way! Very disappointing for me as they just felt hard and not as comfortable. In my experience usually the solid colors have the 4 way stretch. Like the black the white with menthol trim. The porcelaine. The blush quartz ones I though were solid but upon arrival I noticed yet have very small glittery stripes in them and were 2 way. I kept them but never wear them

I had some bleeding from a black Ta Ta Tamer that had been washed maybe 7 times, so still fairly new. It left black spots over a cheapo tank top that I had, so I didn't bring it to a store or anything... But it's kind of irritating I have to think about the color of tank I want to wear with a TTT.

Of course 4 way, 2 way, it's all personal preference. I used to love the 4 way and have run in them ever since LL created them. Now I prefer the 2 way and they are very comfortable for me. I have a SE 4 way that I will keep, the others I've decided I'll sell locally. But haha the special Sea Wheeze red ones appear to be 4 way so I'll make an exception when I'm there @ SW. Maybe I'll change my mind though, and who knows how much special stuff they've made for the SW.

Just an FYI when it comes to fit w lulu shorts (learned from the eds)......If the liner inside the shorts fits, then that is the correct size. I could be way off here. But never really knew what my perfect fit was in speeds/turbos bc they all "fall" around my legs different or fit my waist different too. Just pick a size which the liner feels most comfortable. Hope that helps.

I have the porcelaine Turbo shorts that came out in May--the ones with the WAFS waistband. I don't know if the're 2-way or 4-way but I love whatever they are! I wish I knew what they were so I could make sure that all future shorts purchases are like this...

@anon 10:26 am... Those are 4 way stretch Accdg to the tag. Mine still has a tag. These are the ones I prefer but I am not a distance runner either so barely any soaking problems here.

My BB hot and sweaty skirt bled a little when I per soaked it. It's not as bad as pow or flash/ light stuff but it can. The only good thing about the blues is they actually make your lights brighter so barely notice this. I remember growing up when the help used to put some blue dye in the laundry to make things look crisp and brighter. What do ya know? I am still careful with new stuff though.

OT: anybody washed their clam diggers yet? How's the smell? I have aired mine out but not used or washed it yet. I'm on the fence about this. The eds said they will take itback even if washed but stinky. I really like it but I don't want the trouble of using it and it being looser (per previous reports) and it not be stinky anymore then I can't return it. Whaaaa...

The above pattern did not bleed on me I got the pace setter skirt and I am in love with it. true to size 2 way. lovin it

Sorry if i offended w/ my measurements? Did so to help not make you mad :(; btw i still bet your wearing them like sausage encasings all tight- ewe i think that looks so bad! and yes it would feel terrible in 2-way; you'd best stick to 4-way! I agree w/ another poster that the 4 way in the skirts is great! I'm just glad they have both options and i hope they continue to have both so all of us can be happy :) Cheers to all

Anon 6:24, how is it that you manage to still be offensive in an apology? You don't have any idea what her shorts look like on her so you are just being snarky for the hell of it.

Anonymous said...

Killerboots~ I'm the anon from earlier she directed the snarky apology too. It amused me :) I find the need to say "I'm a size 4" hilarious and I won't even respond, but believe me I do not look like a stuffed sausage in my shorts so I am not the least bit concerned with the insult. This board is read by beautiful women of all sizes and I think those few that keep feeling the need to pop in with "You're wearing your shorts (pants, tops, whatever) too small and by the way I'm a size 4 so my clothes NEVER look tight or there is NEVER a fit that looks bad on me!" to be absolutely and utterly ridiculous.
