Spotted in Stores - Silver Tie and Fly Tank

Sent in by reader, Julie - a Silver Tie and Fly tank. This is from a strategic partner store so not in regular stores yet. (Those are Beyond Yoga crops so not a lulu color.) She said she also spotted a gray/silver zigzag Legendary Duffel that had a bit of Pow Pink lining and solid 4-way stretch Pow Turbo shorts. Thanks, Julie!

Ooooo... lovin those blue BY crops!!!

Anonymous said...

Haha, I was more interested in the BY crops rather than the new Tie and Fly color. :)

Looks like riviera blue! I have a pair that are full length. Very soft and lovely. BY is my favorite for bright leggings as they don't have bleed issues and are so soft. I would say they are not for high impact. They should be washed/dried inside out and some ladies complained of sheerness in very light colors. IE pink neon or white. They are a solid consistent brand and I usually only buy when there is a sale happening. Which is a few times a year. There are also discounts on amazon. Suggested to size down in the supplex leggings. I wear 8 Wu and medium by leg

the BY pants are gorgeous.

that grey chevron duffle was one of the first to be sold out when the bag came out so it's not new. i was trying to buy one but bc of the quantities and unwillingness to spend more on ebay, i got it in black :) no regrets

Minda said...

The riviera blue is very similar to porcelaine I put them next to each other. Only minor difference.

Anonymous said...

I also think those crops look like riviera blue. They are listed on Nordstom's website for 74, if I'm remembering correctly. They also have black and yellow ones listed in the same style. Maybe they will be included in the Anniversary sale, that starts tomorrow.

Yep, love the leggings. I am a huge fan of BY leggings too. Minda turned me onto them. They are so soft w/ lovely colors. Also, they don't give me CT or muffin top. I actually used them for a high-intensity interval workout and they were awesome. They didn't fall down or need to be adjusted (my sweat was probably the glue that held them in place!). I don't run in them bc I'm in FL and its incredibly HOT.....shorts and sports bra only!!

I absolutely LOVE my BY gathered leggings. They are sooo soft and feel amazing on my skin. The quality is top notch and the colors remain vibrant. I have the lapis blue from this past winter and white. They cost less than the Lulu crops and come in a variety of colors thoughout the year. They just closed out the winter/spring colors and launched their summer/fall line which includes an amazing "Electric Purple" that looks similar to "Bruised Berry". I'm totally loving the "Daffodil" and can't wait for it to be restocked in my size. Plus, when I ordered my crops, I got a bonus supplex headband tossed in the box for free! No issues with customer service and a bonus item! Could it be true CS?!?

I just ordered my first pair of BY gathered crops... $57 on Amazon! I'm so *over* the lulu issues right now, no more brand loyalty. Zella stuff at Nordstrom is really great, looking forward to checking out the sale tomorrow! PS- their headbands are awesome, if you've ever had issues with slipping bands from lulu (none of the lulu ones I have stay on my head!) but Zella stays on all day!

Anonymous said...

Oooh! Thanks for the heads up on BY leggings on Amazon. Will check that out as soon as I get home. My LLL budget is getting diverted to BY!

I've been eyeing some really cute Zella and Karma (any reviews on this brand?) tops. Hoping they are included in the Nordstrom sale. *crossing fingers (and hands and legs!)*

WOAH ALERT ALERT
Currant swiftlies in LS and SS in stock in all sizes on the website?!?! Might be more too but I haven't clicked around any more yet...

Anonymous said...

I will second what Minda said about BY leggings not being for high impact. I decided to wear them on a run yesterday and they would NOT stay up. I found myself really wishing I'd worn my Sun Sprinters for the support they offer in the midsection. Finally, about 10 minutes into my run I found that my sweat was starting to hold them up, but the first ten really sucked! I also wore them to yoga and had problems with them slipping down and had to keep readjusting. They are so darn cute and soft though! These are the Performance Stripe leggings that I am talking about....also NO gusset!

Anonymous said...

Can some one recommend a size for me for Beyond Yoga? I wear a 4 in Lulu and a 0-2 in street clothing. I am currently 9 weeks prego and read these are really comfy for pregos. I don't know if I should get a XS or a S...? Thank you!!!

Anonymous said...

Thanks so much for the heads up on the current swifltys. I had wanted the ls last year and missed out, despite stalking the website. I just ordered one. I also saw the lucky luon headband comes in current too. Hopefully, other headbands come in that color soon.

By the way are 6 long sleeved swifltys too many?

Sandra said...

I don't see the currant swiftly... I want the bruised berry and pow pink but I'm so afraid they will snag that I actually purchase one and returned it because I thought $70 is too much for a shirt that might only last a few wears. How are yours holding up?

Anonymous said...

I've been hitting up the pre-anniversary sale at Nordstrom and they have some great Zella items! A pair of shorts very similar to speed but not as short - almost a combo between speed and turbo in a really pretty green (like a darker menthol) rasberry (similar to ultraviolet/dewberry) black and white. the fabric is very soft and does not hang strangely like the speeds and turbos do for me. love them! only downside is no zipper. Also picked up a pair of wunderunder-like leggings in a gorgeous heathered charcoal color. they are reversible too and only $31.90! Still have the lulu addiction but trying to branch out :)

OT - i'm contemplating the no limit tank - do most of you wear to yoga or can it be worn running too?

Anonymous said...

Currant swiftly is only on the US site. LS and SS only, not SL.

Can't decide if I want one or not! I am soo not a person that wears red, but I am LOVING the color in that fabric.

Sourkraut said...

@Anon 7:00 AM - I wear my NLT for running, but I've seen several people here comment that they can't/won't because it's not supportive enough. I'm only 34B so can get away with it. I also do wussy short runs, never more than three miles. Perhaps on a longer run the thin straps might start to dig in, although I've personally never had that problem even when wearing my tank all day. I can't emphasize enough how flattering the tank is on me, though. Even if I could only use it for low-impact activities I'd want to stock up in many colors.

Anonymous said...

Another brand I like for yoga and running tops is Yellowman. They have leggings as well but I have never purchased one, so I can only speak for tops and tanks, which I find really cool. Not all of them, but sometimes they come up with really nice, unique and eye-catching designs and colors.
What I like is that they can be worn indeed as street clothes as much as a yoga/running tops.

I'm sure some of you have seen them every now and them offered on the Athleta website. Waaaay more affordable to get them from Athleta than from Yellowman directly. They are not for everyone, as the fabric is totally and utterly THIN, but that's exactly what I like: it's like wearing nothing at all.

And not, I'm not a shill for Yellowman, just ran this morning in one of my YM long sleeved tops and thought I would share this brand in here with fellow LLAs.

I hope you guys who are ordering from this new batch of Currant Swiftly get the same style and quality as the ones from the first release. Lulu seems to be changing a few things here and there in the "new" re-released items. The Currant Scuba amongst them.

I got the ls last year and although I like it, have never actually worn it. Think I like more looking at it than wearing it. Silly

Focus said...

Be advised that the currant swiftly is not as true red as the website indicates. I purchased one on a ninja upload several months ago. It seems mine looks a little more like an orange based red vs. My red scuba (purchased last fall) which is a deeper, perhaps more blue-based red...trying to say that the scuba is deep, yet bright and the swiftly looks a little washed out and tiny bit orange. Material differences, of course considered.

Anon-7:28 Never have worn my red swiftly either...too funny.

yogibabe said...

On the same thread of being "swiftly silly". I love my dual colored swiftlies (sleeves different color than the main body). My dog and two cats "hates" it when I'm wearing mine. I suddenly transformed to an anti-social pet momma. Very hands off and not encouraging, nor giving them any love. Can't take a chance for any claw snags. The poor guys have developed a "swiftly resentment"! One kitty almost pounce on it, ready to kill, when she saw it in the laundry basket! :) I just have to be more careful! lol!

Anonymous said...

Dang you, fellow addicts! I just looked at the currant swiftly and now I'm pondering my "need" for one. I don't even like the color red. I own zero red clothing other than 2 pairs of shoes. But the swiftly fabric makes all colors more muted and I'm loving the look of this subtle red hue. Sigh. Just when I thought I was in control on my addiction too.

Anonymous said...

I have a few swiftlys, LS and SS and have had no snagging issues, and wear them all the time, and machine wash with other Lulu on delicate, and they go in the dryer *gasp*. No tanks yet, as I've tried them on about 80 times and am still not convinced I like how they look on me.

For those that have had CRB's hemmed before, have you ever had any problems? I just got my first hemmed one back in porcelaine, and they used a different coloured thread than the original thread, and it looks stupid!! They did the same thing with a couple of WU crops. I am NOT happy, but I'm not sure that saying anything would fix it, as you can't talk directly to the seamstreses, only the "educators".

This has officially ended my love affair with Lulu. I have been slowing down lately like many people, due to not only quality issues - for the most part I haven't experienced any - but strange design issues and over saturation. I don't need new things to come out every single week but they only make about 8 of each thing so you can't find any unless you're up at 2 a.m., but yet I can never find staples either for the same reason. I've never seen a store that has such a fickle (for lack of a better word) inventory, and it's frustrating. I don't like the feeling of "panic" it instills in me either (OMG If I don't get it NOW it'll sell out and I'll miss it forever!!!)

And now, if I can't even get anything hemmed properly (I'm 5" and have never had an issue with hemming before, but that's only pants) then what's the point? 100 bucks for a pair of pants that'll be ruined during hemming? no thanks :(

Anonymous said...

Can someone send LLA a pic of the Pow pink turbos?? They sound lovely!... Then again, is anything that bleeds all over the place really "lovely"? I love my flash light turbos and have had 0 issues, but That doesn't mean this new color is safe To wear by any means...

Amy b said...

Oh for the love of Pete. I am just waking up, drinking my coffee... And you all tell me there is a currant swiftly!!!!! I was just minding my own business! Haha! Now I have one sitting in my basket.... Debating if I really need it.
Hmmmmmm. Seriously, I have more workout clothing than real clothes. This is getting ridiculous. I think I could go two months to the gym and not wear the same thing twice. And it's all LLL. And... I just found this brand after Christmas!!!!!! Ahhh!!!
Is it a pretty red? I love the bright currant in the scuba. I like the brighter red and feel I might be disappointed if its muted!

Anonymous said...

Yogibabe similar situation here with my "baby boy" a three year old Beagle, who loves stretching up on me, that is, doing his downward upward! Standing up on his rear legs while the two front are up against my belly, and of course his claws dragging my top downward. Not a chance when I'm on my workout clothes!

yogibabe said...

WMTM updated with more items! None for me, but enjoy!

Anonymous said...

I don't recall flash light turbos. How did I miss those? Or maybe I decided to hold out for a patterned pair. I should start keeping a Lulu journal to track all this stuff. Well, assuming that I keep buying LLL. I've slowed down just like everyone. Haven't bought a CRB since March due to bleeding concerns, though I've never experienced any problems personally. Normally I woul have snatched up all these latest Bright CRBs. Oh well, $ saved.
I am, however, in love with my Tie&Fly tanks. I have Ray and Lilac. Wish I had known before ripping the tags off these that they were going to continue to release this top in more colors (ahem, Pow Pink!). The material these tops are made of seems to be bleed-proof. They do show sweat, but that doesn't bother me and they're so cool! Awesome for summer running.

Amy b said...

On the swiftly subject.... The 2nd time I wore my ray short sleeved- I got a HUGE snag on the front of the shirt from carrying a to go container from a restaurant. Seriously? That's all it takes to get a snag. Anyways... I took it into our showroom and they sent it off to their seamstress and they gave it back to me snag free. I don't know how they did it... But you can't see the snag anymore. And it was a bad one!!! So... You might try taking in anything that snags and see if they will fix it! It's worth a shot.

Anonymous said...

They are trying to unload all those weird 50's blurry dot items on WMTM. None for me. If you held out on these, now's your chance! I just think it's too much of a pin-up girl look on a curvy woman like myself. Also, remembering LLA's Dorris Day comparison. Ha.

Sourkraut said...

Yeah, still not a fan of those dots so I'm glad to see some of them on their way out in WMTM. I very briefly considered picking up a discounted Hot But Not tank before I remembered that there's no way to guarantee I'll get a decent dot distribution on the bra. Since it's a final sale I don't want to be stuck with one dot-free boob or something similarly silly looking.

Anonymous said...

I HATE it when you put something in your cart and less than two minutes later it is somehow removed and now not available. Come on LLL....if it is in the cart it should not be yanked out (maybe a fifteen minute window would be nice...that is what all of the flash sale sites give you). I didn't even have time to double check sizes before the shirt was out of my cart! Ugh!

Thanks for letting me vent....now on with the day. I guess I saved some money, so that is a good thing.

I've been thinking of getting some running crops. Do any of you have sizing info on the Fast and Free Crops? I usually wear an 8 in LL but I've heard on these you would want to size up cuz they are TIGHT. Any thoughts or advice?

Thanks!!

Anonymous said...

I have a Run Fast & Free crop and I sized up based on reviews. While overall it fit great, the waist kept sliding down while I ran. However, it has a continuous drawcord which I didn't use. I will definitely use the drawcord in my next run and hopefully that will help it from sliding down.

at 7:50 a.m. , regarding the hemming of CRBs: I had my lavender CRB hemmed and learned one thing - never to do do that again. Like you experienced, it just looks "stupid" now. I still wear it occasionally, but the fit is all off and now it just looks like a plain boxy blouse.

Anonymous said...

I'm slightly tempted by the Run Fast & Free crops but not a fan of polka dots. Think I'll just save my money for the new NLTs. :-)

Happy shopping all! It's midnight in my side of the world so I'm off to bed. :-)

macfrannie said...

Thanks for the info. I seem to remember trying these on at the store once in an 8 and thinking they would be better if they were just a titch bigger. I might take the leap and get a 10 then. I have an run skirt (the one with the single ruffle from last year) in a 10 and it is definitely too big.

Anonymous said...

As someone else mentioned, the currant swiftlies look like an Orange based red due to the muting of the color that always happens with swift material. Holding out for a (blue based) red CRB or pullover to go with my old currant patterned speeds. Otherwise I'll stick with black.

Nicole said...

@ Focus I have worn my NLT for Yoga and Running. I am only a 32A so it's plenty supportive for me. The attached bra is a Flow Y if that helps.

I have a currant LS from a ninja upload a few months ago and it's definitely an orange based red. I love that because I cannot wear true red (wish I could!).

Hope the new ones are the same for you all. I love swiftlys and don't have a bad thing to say about them. I know many people have had snagging issues to keep that in mind.

Happy Thursday all!

Anonymous said...

Darn I was really hoping that the Run: Rest Day Pullover would make it to WMTM. Bummed!

macfrannie said...

ME TOO!!! I'm lusting after that thing now. I want the heathered Dune version.

I'm headed to Salt Lake next week for work/pleasure and I'm planning on popping in on the Trolley Square store while there. Maybe they will have one in stock and I can try it on. I always try to visit new/different LLL stores when I travel. It is fun to see the different inventory.

Anonymous said...

FWIW I have had several CRBs hemmed with no problems. The thread color is a perfect match and they look great. If you are getting heinous hemming then you should definitely let them know.

Sharon said...

Can anyone offer sizing advice on the Heathered Fossil/Blurred Blossoms In Stride? is it TTS?

Anonymous said...

What?! Currant swiftly?

I just ordered the pop orange, and I'd much rather have currant. I would have bought it of it was on the Canada side :(

Pink Peony 4 said...

Hi Sharon,
I bu the same size as everything else in LLL tops. Hope this helps. It tends to be longer so be careful sizing up. It is snug at the hips (seen on model) so sizing down might help sleeve length but not hips or shoulders. I find it TTS in short.
LOTS OF NEW STUFF ON WMTM... I ordered hot but not (both) since it is cheaper now. I wish I had gotten more bound bras but oh well. The open heart bra (?) the lavender dotted one with criss cross is really nice and supportive but I'm only a B cup. I love this bra. I bought this exact one full price. Oh man...

Pink Peony 4 said...

Sorry Inner Heart Bra not Open Heart (like surgery? ha ha). BTW, the currant swiftly is not as sharp of a red as in the pictures. It is more muted. I got one the last time they did a ninja upload. Waiting for the right time to wear but I was slightly disappointed with the color since I was hoping it would look sharp like the pictures. I think most swiftly fabric tend to be more muted and altered in the dyeing process. IMO. I like reds though so this will definitely suffice for now.

Anonymous said...

OMG totally crazy that all that dot shiz is in WMTM already, right? WRONG! That stuff is heinous (along with nearly all the other loot).

Amy b - That's awesome that the store seamstress was able to fix the snag in your Ray swiftly! I never thought of doing that but I did take mine back to the store after a hole developed near one of the seams. It was an older DCSG v-neck swiftly and the store simply allowed me to pick out a new one. Had to get a different color (black) as the DCSG was no longer available, but they offered and gave me the exchange no problem and without the original receipt (which I no longer had given the time that had passed since I purchased the shirt). I know lulu isn't always very helpful, but i would encourage anyone who, outside of the regular window for returns or after removing the tags, discovers they've purchased a defective item or experiences quality / performance issues (e.g., bleeding, snagging, seams unraveling, etc.) to seek appropriate recompense from lulu... Unless the issue doesn't bother you or you can live with it (as addicts I know we all have those coveted items that we're just not willing to give up...er, I know I do anyway...hope I'm not the only one!!). But I do hate to hear stories of items that are of such shoddy quality the owner will never be able to wear them again (or even for the first time) because if there is a legitimate issue with the quality of the product then lulu - not the consumer - should take the loss. I don't know, I've never really thought about this stuff until recently (because of all the bleeding issues) as I've never had a problem other than the one with my DCSG swiftly, but the bleeding, sheerness and other issues are so widespread now that it is 100% clear the problem is the products themselves, not user error, ph levels or any other bogus excuse lulu wants to make up.

Sharon said...

Thanks for the response, Pink Peony 4!

I have an older Stride Jacket from 2010 that I love...have it in my usual size 4, and the fit is perfect...I did note in reviews that a lot of people were sizing down in the In Stride though...didn't know if it was because it was truly running large, or people just wanted what is essentially a looser fit jacket to fit more like the Define does...

Anonymous said...

Question to all of you: Do you usually order the same color Swiftly in both, short and long sleeve? Or even the same color in LS, SS and SL??

Anonymous said...

@ Anon 11:16 I do have a black (call it grey) LS, SS (vneck) and SL. Other than black I do not have the same styles in the same colors (for instance I have a menthol LS but not a menthol tank). I like wearing different colored SLs with LSs (i.e Pop Orange and Menthol looks awesome together). Just realized how ridiculous this probably is.

Anonymous said...

i do appreciate everyones comments on here and with all the quality issues to date, i am done. i went from weekly purchases to one in the last few months that ultimately was a quality fail.

thanks everyone for the great information here and i will continue to read however, i refuse to purchase anything until quality improves.

if thats never, so be it.

Anonymous said...

its me anon again from 11:41...i also have not been very excited about the designs or colours. i feel like its been some variation on pink and the same tanks for months?? just not excited about the products, less about the quality and its just not worth shopping in the middle of the night!

Anonymous said...

@ Anon 11:26 interesting! Do you wear the ss over the ls or vice versa. Does anyone else ever look down at themselves while wearing a lulu outfit and think "Gee, $12 headband + $40 CRB + $50 TaTa tamer + $90 define + $90 WUC = about $300 outfit for the gym"? Ha. Not that this Keeps me from buying more.

Annie G. said...

@ anon 11:45

All the time.

Anonymous said...

I think about that, too. The other day, I was wearing a Swiftly SS and a pair of Fast and Free crops and a headband, and I winced to think that the outfit cost over $150...and that's in summer, when I don't need a jacket. AND I had a cheap C9 bra with it--a lll bra would have bumped up the cost an extra $45 or $50.

Anonymous said...

boo, hiss...fedex just dropped of my Lulu order (I work from home), and I just wanted to reiterate the comments on the the currant scuba from this time around - not only is the zipper a fugly brass-metal one that I could maybe deal with, its all faded as if it sat in a warehouse with the sun beating on it for the past two years. Like faded more where it's raised then flat. Ugh, I'm not that picky, but come on! I'll be calling GEC this afternoon and see if I can get them to ship it back (drop off place is only a 3 hour round trip from me, wohoo). Anyway, the other items look nice, so not a total loss.

Okay, now I feel better. Thank you for understanding (bc my hubby thinks I've fully lost it).

-vanessa

Also, I have an old currant ls swiftly and it looks nothing like it does in the web pictures on my screen. More of a coral color that I really don't like, so I wear it hiking and am not gentle with it, and it's actually held up really well.

Anonymous said...

I just checked out the BY website thoroughly and have to say that the clothes look great. Definitely going to buy some gathered crops. They look amazing.

Anonymous said...

I love layering SS Swiftkys over my half zip Swiftlys. Looks great with the collar of the Hal zip peeking out under the SS swiftly.

Anonymous said...

I must be on of the few people who haven't snagged a swiftly yet. So far I have 1 ss, 2 sl, and 6 ll. I'm happy to hear that they can be fixed, though.

As for the question about if people purchase the same color in multiple styles. So far, I haven't. My short sleeved one is angel blue. My two sleeveless tanks are wild lime and pow pink. My long sleeved swifltys are pink pig, pigment blue, lavender dusk, menthol, bruised berry, and currant. Currant is gorgeous in the swiftly material, IMO. It isn't a true red, it has a coralish tone to it.

I tried on some Zella items at Nordstrom last year, but didn't find their crops or pants flattering. I did buy a pullover style hoodie (which they still offer)because I really liked the color and flattering style. It doesn't get used very much though because it is so lightweight. At least I got it on sale though.

My mom made all our clothes and I learned to sew by making barbie outfits on her machine. These skills still come in handy for alterations and home decor.

I think the reason I love the LLL Luon Knock Out shorts is because they remind me of the double-knit shorts my mom used to sew for me for P.E.

I've been reading some good things about the new Gap Fit line lately. Quite a few of the tops are a nylon blend which is what I prefer. The price is half of lulu.

I looked at a bunch of Zella bottoms when I was at Nordstroms on Saturday. They were all polyester blends and had the triangle gusset everyone seems to hate. I did like the knit nylon tops/bras that were made in the US. I'd rather buy Beyond Yoga bottoms since it's a lot softer, though not as supportive /spanx-like as my lulu luon stuff.

yeah, i like to coordinate and it gets pricey. that's why i'm returning $700 worth this weekend. returning 2.5 outfits of crap that they sent me, a pow define and the "new" inspires are in the mix. the sales people are going to HATE me, but come on, can't really expect me to wear that !@$. i absolutely cannot stand the white mesh on the define. i hope they don't try to educate me because the local PD might have to be called.

Just browsed the BY website. No free shipping below $99 unlike Lulu. Return shipping is also not free just like Lulu. I'm not sure if I want to spend so much on shipping if the item doesn't fit.

Anonymous said...

Ordered something from BY and looks like they have a 5 day return policy 10 days for exchanges. I won't be ordering from them again.

Anonymous said...

I was looking for a pair of cute white crops and was interested in BY gathered leggings. The wonderful ladies on this blog highly recommended them. But given the shipping costs and return/exchange policy, I think I will pass. I look on other sites selling BY and none of them carry XXS.

Only the actual BY site carry XXS in its inventory.

I order mine off Amazon and their return policy is much more gracious. And the free Super Shipping savings is not bad and the prices will generally save me an additional $10 or so a pair.

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't carry XXS which according to BY size chart matches to a Lulu size 2?

@ Anon 8:51 AM...I have the Run Fast & Free crop. In my TTS 4 and they are great. They're meant to be more fitted as they're made of Power Luxtreme II. They have a compression type fit. They are very comfortable and I highly recommend them.

@ Anon 7:50...have had numerous CRB's hemmed in numerous colours and they always come back in the exact colour thread and are perfectly hemmed. If you're unhappy, back to the store they go for the educator to deal with and have the seamstress redo. I've also had pants and Groove crops hemmed and all has been great.

I was surprised at Beyond Yoga's short return window, too. Fortunately, I have loved everything I've gotten, so it's been fine. And before I arranged my 30% instructor discount through Beyond Yoga's website, I bought my BY at Amazon with Prime shipping and free returns.

I imagine they'll have a free shipping under $100 coupon code sometime. I'll share it if I see it.

I had to return some Zobha stuff & I had though I'd read "free returns," so I was bummed to have to pay quite a bit of $$ to return the items. I'm spoiled by Amazon and local store returns.

Zobha crops have triangle gusset, btw. I wish I'd looked carefully at them before removing tags and washing. Now I"m stuck with CT. At least it's mild, so it's just visual and not uncomfortable to wear.
