New Mini Squiggle Emboss Power Purple Wunder Unders Crops. Shown with a Currant Power Y.

New Headbands. The ruffle one is interesting - almost like part of a French Maid costume.

New Currant Turbos, Team Spirit LS, and Compression Socks.

I like the team spirit LS. and the shorts are nice too, I just don't fit well in them so I hope they come out with a skirt or other shorts in that color.

Can anyone comment on whether or not the purple ziggy wuc's are see through?

Jess said...

Anyone notice the very visable camel-toe in the bottom left pic of the Squiggle Emboss Power Purple Wunder Unders Crops?? Yikes!!
This is why I'm done with the WU's until they fix that triangle crotch!

Anonymous said...

@Jess. Yes I just saw that and am soooo bummed. I ordered them this morning. That is so in attractive and I guess I'll be sending them back :(

Anonymous said...

have the currant DSCs been available online at all? I thought i had missed it but it doesnt seem to have been included in this upload either.

Anonymous said...

That doesn't look like CT at all to me in the power purple embossed WUC, it just looks like the edging created by her leg and her crotch. I agree that the triangle can induce more CT issues than the old gusset, but sometimes I think people are just going CT crazy and seeing things that aren't there. If I have to look at a picture for more than 5 full seconds and still don't see any CT then I don't think it's there (although I'm sure they do cause real CT on some folks which is too bad).

Good morning all! So I'm a little weirded out about this girl wearing the compression socks in this photo. I'm hoping she purchased them and they didn't go back on the shelf to be sold to customers... LOL. I may have to go to my store today. I resisted buying anything in the upload and now I want everything! Gah!

Anonymous said...

I agree, there is a difference between CT and just the line between crotch and leg which is normal and every woman has... I ordered them this morning and I will see what is up.

Anonymous said...

I do not think the DSCs were released. The full length pants were released and are already sold out.

Leah Fulford said...

I think the debate over camel toe or not is irrelevant. Half of this thread was caught staring at her crotch. Camel toe or too-tight fit in that region means NO GO for me!

Leah Filford!!! Seriously, that's the BEST profil pic ever! love it!!

Jess,

I noticed that as well. So disappointing!

I'm starting to think that it has more to do with the type of fabric the WU's are made of and not so much the shape of the gusset.

Some (like my newest current WU's and even my older paris pink) are skin tight and seem to especially cling to the crotch.
However some of my older pairs, like my heathered coal wee stripe and another deep grey (I forget the exact color name; they reverse to black.) are more thick and so soft. They stretch easily and don't cling anywhere they shouldn't.

The current pants have the triangle gusset, but the paris pink has the same diamond gusset as my two grey pairs.

I'm really, really hoping that the new ziggy WU's will be the same, soft material that I love!

Anonymous said...

@ leah- the CT debate is extremely relevant. Some people really might want those WUC, but without any fit reports or feedback on new items the only pictures to base a decision on are the website models. This is especially true for people who don't live close to stores and have to gamble online. Yes, it is indeed a gamble, but in my opinion If a model in a product picture has CT then it doesn't bode well for the rest of us. The quality issues at LLL don't just leave us staring at crotches, we stare at asses (sheerness check) and chests (support/cleavage issues). It's all objective scrutiny IMO, and is necceassry to help gals make expensive decisions on merchandise. If someone notices something like this about a product I'm interested in, I want to know!

Anonymous said...

Yes, very visible CT on the WU in the second photo above! And she is wearing the proper size and they are not hiked up. I went into the comments to mention this before I saw everyone else's comments. I HATE the triangular gusset. Hate.

Anonymous said...

Presta and hoodie.....new in WMTM Canada! For anyone looking..... these were just posted! X:)

Anonymous said...

Personally, I think it's the darker seam thread that draws attention to her crotch, not any supposed CT. I think the dark seams make it look like you have CT no matter what.

It def looks like CT to me. I so wanted them too :(

OT - I'm thinking of trying out a Pure Barre class while I'm "home" visiting family in Virginia this weekend. What does one wear? I'm sure I'll enjoy it so much that it'll make me even more sad to return home to the uncivilized swamps where I now live. The gyms around here seem to be stuck in the '90s with nothing more interesting than step classes and kick boxing. I'm a little surprised they don't still offer Jazzercise.

Quick advice -- check currant studio pants when you get them. Ones I tried in store had bad stitching on the butt.

I got both new NLTanks, purple WU, and apparently I'm the only one who bought the current Engage bra. I really want an energy bra, but I need a bra badly so I hope this one is good.

Anonymous said...

yes, the engage bra is awesome! I'm a 38 DD and slender.

OT: wouldnt a caspian blue dance studio jacket or define jacket be absolutely gorgeous?? Or maybe a currant define jacket

MonkeyGirl said...

Sourkraut- I am a bar fanatic :) LOVE it! I wear things one would wear to yoga, but I like WUs or other fitted pants/crops. Pants with a looser leg- like grooves- get in the way. You will want to wear something below knee. Then any tank that offers medium or more support and you are good to go :) Oh, and you'll wear socks on your feet.

Anonymous said...

Anon 10:48 was size are you? I am 34dd and ordered both 8 and 10 to see what fits best. I don't have a store near by so I didn't want to risk it running out.

Anonymous said...

11 am... I'm 5'6 135 lbs...38DD. still trying to lose that last 15 lbs from having a baby! :) bought my Engage in size 12 and she's spot on perfect. no side boob or uniboob. :) GOOD LUCK! :)

Amy said...

Sourkraut,
I am a Pure Barre addict and I second what MonkeyGirl said. Fitted pants that fall below the knee (like WU crops), and a tank that doesn't flip up over your head if you are bending down. Socks are required and the sticky socks help but any sock will do. LOL about your swampy town! I lived in the swamps of Texas until not too long ago and exercise-wise it was awful! Also I've always wondered - why "Sourkraut"? Do you love sourkraut? I'm half Polish so of course I love that stuff.

Anonymous said...

Nowadays no matter what the pics are about here, it inevitably ends up being about camel toe, sheerness and bleeding. Always the same people "it's really crucial to share this info, because I want to know if the product I'm interested in bleeds, gives me a CT and it's sheer when I bend" YES YES YES.
Do we need to hear that everyday in every thread? Yes, it bleeds. Yes, it's sheer. Yes, it comes pre-camel toed. And you know it.
And in the end it doesn't matter because you'll buy it anyways.

Sourkraut said...

Thanks, MonkeyGirl and Amy! I really hope to fit this into my schedule. Since I'm just visiting family and relaxing I should be able to. It's not as if I have to see the sights like a tourist since I grew up there. I've tried a few DVDs and quite like them but know they don't compare to the actual classes.

About my silly name: I'm at least 2/3 German (mom was born there, dad's grandmother came from there, I believe) so that explains my affinity with all things German. I grew up in a very Germanic household full of yummy German food and lots of gibbering in German. My husband started calling me Sourkraut because he said I'm a bitter, mean (sour) German (Kraut). I like to think he's kidding since I'm actually a lovely ray of sunshine. Granted, I'm occasionally a sarcastic and sardonic one but I'm more or less a happy person.

first of all, my heart goes out to the poor girl who posted her pic and has everyone looking at her crotch with a microscope... here's the simple truth, if you wear a color other than black, you're gonna have camel toe. conversely, if a guy wears a pair of skintight bike shorts that are not black, you're gonna see his outline too (some more visible than others - not sure if that's a good or bad thing...). to combat camel toe, i've found the best thing to do (other than wear baggy pants) is a pair of thongs from gap body (i will find the model name and let you know). the material is thick enough in the right places to smooth out any "details"... that, and a gilette razor every other day keeps things smooth. plain and simple. i've worn sexy undies... crotchless et al but not under anything lululemon. you will get a cameltoe and the brighter the color, the more visible you're gonna be out there. no matter what you think when you try them on in the fitting room, you're thong will show if you're wearing a pair of bright red crops. try your best to minimize the show...

Just one thing to note- I ordered the power purple CRB and the groove pants with the red quilted pattern. I put my order in around 3am and by 10am was having second thoughts- really, how many pairs of groove pants do I need? I checked my email confirmation and it states "if you are having second thoughts, give us a call and we can make a change to your order as long as it's still being processed" so, I call the number and the FIRST thing the rep says to me is that they cannot make ANY changes to an order once its placed online. All they can do is cancel the order and if the items are sold out you lose everything! I wanted to switch out the grooves for a pair of the studio pants. However, now I get to wait for my order and pay shipping and handling to send the items back. I mentioned how ironic it is that they send that email when there is no way they can change your order. The lady on the phone was very nice and said they've asked them to take certain things off the website that are misleading and they haven't. Just FYI for anyone out there who orders strictly online. I have no store nearby so for me it's the only option. Pretty disappointed!

I typically go "commando", but would always wear a thong (no lace or frills) when i workout or wear my lululemon groove shorts. i see women in my gym who go commando under their lulu's and sure enough you can see everything up front. i can't believe the debate going on here... trim it up front, wear panties and if you're worried that guys are staring, then wear something else.

CT unfortunately is just a fact of life....it happens. It's good we discuss everything on here! Then, I can decide what I want to buy! :) It's like my Speciaist said to me, some ladies can have 6 kids no problem and then you, well you are tiny...and had a 10 lb baby and severe prolapse. It's life, it just happens.... CT same thing, just happens sometimes-- that's life! :)

Anyone know if the deep coal UWC are more sheer than the black ones? I'm debating whether or not to order them.

Anonymous said...

LOL... i don't think guys are discussing, debating and disecting this as much as us about whether their package is too visible when they are cycling. black is definitely the answer. i see guys wearing white cycling shorts... they have the same problem. it ain't camel toe, but YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING.

betsy sd said...

i never found any of the UWC to be sheer... i've worn bright red thongs underneath and never had a problem. light color do make cameltoe an issue, but that's like saying a light color solid bikini top makes your nipples visible. duh!

Jess said...

At anon 11:44. I had the exact same thing happen... I wanted to change a single item on my WMTM order once( just the waist band) and I called and they can only cancel the WHOLE order! I couldnt do this because some of the other items had sold out already! So now I make sure I have to have every item before I order it!

I am a die hard Pure Barre girl. I do this 6/7 days a week and mix in elliptical and/or running for cardio.
The classes are VERY challenging. MUCH MORE than the DVDs. I suggest doing 4-5 live classes first, before just going right into the DVDs. You learn how to get the technique down more effectively of tucking in and squeezing from the exact muscle you are utilizing - using small isometric movements. Everything in PB is a small movement- if you aren't in agony shaking like crazy - you are doing it wrong LOL.
After getting the technique down THEN go for a new DVD. The older ones have poorer quality in production.
- PB is great for core strengthening and low impact strength. It utilizes a completely different skillset from your standard cardio work outs. I think to maximize the benefits of LIFT BURN and TONE from PB, you should have a couple jogging days in between and eat clean of course. PB is fantastic for someone who has trouble spots they want to tone all the way around to reshape the body to gain and maintain a beautiful sexy figure. To lose weight though- cardio is needed.

I've seen people change their bodies in 10 classes - its not a weight loss drop persay - but a body shape change. It makes me super happy too. -I don't feel RIGHT if I've missed my PB workout LOL. I don't work for PB I'm just someone who sounds like they have drank the kool aid - lol I have. I totally suggest trying it to anyone who has an active lifestyle. It is the toughest workout. It always gets harder - not easier because it is weight bearing- you learn to push yourself.
ok sorry for the long chat on it! -
pefect PB outfits? WUC or WU or groove pants with any sports bra and a cool racer back! - today I wore black WUC with 50 rep bra and black pure barre logo slub tank top.

I just went to my local store and they tried to talk me into currant WU crops that they just got in. I said, "Not until you change the gusset back." She looked at me and smiled a knowing smile. I just returned the dense purple and currant Scubas due to the distressed coloring and fading as well as the metal zipper. Some might not care about the zipper as much, but every single time I tried them on, I got my undershirt caught in the metal zipper! That doesn't happen with the plastic ones. I am not interested in ruining a $42 CRB under a Scuba simply because of the metal zipper. I exchanged both of those for a caspian one, which has the plastic zipper and I am a happy girl. It will fit nicely with the other 1 dozen Scubas in my closet. :)

Love this blog! So much helpful info!

Someone mentioned on the "Upload" post about some of the Lulu models wearing shoes. I noticed this for the first time last week - the model wearing the caspian inspire crops with the power purple swiftly was wearing shoes. Then this week a bunch of the shorts and skirt models are wearing shoes. Does anyone know what's up with this?

Hope we see more caspian tanks soon! One with the embossed ziggy pattern would be nice. Wish I would have bought the scoop me up, but it's gone. :(

I'm also a Pure Barre addict. I've mentioned it here before, but nothing has ever slimmed my thunder thighs like PB! It's a miracle. Well, it's 55 minutes of torture (in a good way)... so I guess that I should really credit my hard work for my trimmer legs, not call it miraculous. Also, I my body is just more firm all over: arms, shoulders, abs, and legs. The exercises change all the time, too, so that your muscles don't get complacent. It's just as hard a workout now as it was nearly 2 years ago when I started going! You get better at it, but it never gets easy.
Before my thighs were transformed I only wore Groove pants, but I've recently gained enough confidence to don WUs! My fave PB ensemble: WUCs, TaTa Tamer, CRB, and my PB sticky socks. Also, I usually wear a PB logo tank for CYA coverage on my inevitable post-workout grocery run.

Caption under power purple WUs should read "Shown with a Currant Power Y and Camel Toe". WTF?!?!

I love love my DSC and Yoga Camp crops! I am a 44 year old mom to a two year old(yes that is old but we are so so blessed) and I prefer these crops for our busy activities- swim lessons, baby ballet, mommy and me class, and play dates. I am a pretty fit and slim person(size 4) but prefer to be more covered up at these activities. The crops are comfortable, wash well, and hold up in the hot CA summers. I only wear them for casual, as I like fitted crops for exercise. I love the red Studio crops but feel like the "red pants thing" has been done to death. I loved this upload and hoping for some great fall classics in the coming weeks!

I went to my store today to exchange my pop orange swift rb but they are all out of 4's! I got credit for t. I got the groove shorts in regular (fall quilt 12, caspian blue combo), speed shorts in Ray but I got a 6 instead of my usual 4. This will be my motivating factor to run and have runners' legs (ahem!). I tried a lot of things today for you all:

The ziggy flare WUC was ok, soft but if the zig zag pattern is crooked it draws attention to the thighs. Personally, I don't like that. Did not have to size up, not sheer because of the design (busy).

WUC in coal and fall quilt 12, caspian blue combo: cute but the only time I will show the beautiful waist is by accident. I don't really worry about camel toes since I always wear something long with my WU; did not size up; not sheer on me;
WUC in blazer black (zigzaggy black on black): slightly sheer; had to size up. good thing I ordered a 6 online last night.
Dart and Dash shorts: cute-- had to size up to 6 from 4; ordered this on WMTM;
NLT in coal and ziggy black bra pattern: Nice and soft but the bra part was softer which was more loose IMO, it has more give; pretty; this ziggy I can live with; I have too many NLT's; So no for me;

Presence LS in Black chevron: way too cute. This reminds me of a regular LS you buy from a high end store (price wise) just for kicking around and looking the part; really cute with the WUC with waist in the fall 12 quilt since it shows just enough to make it worth buying the WUC; I'll wait on this one; I really like it, not the angel blue; too summery;

Flare CRB: really nice and softer than regular CRB; way too bright for me although it looked good but I am overloaded with Flash; I did not buy; did not need to size up;
Heathered Power purple CRB: also very soft like the Flare light but again, I have plenty of these and purple is not my color; I like looking at it though; did not need to size up;
My conclusion is I would size up on the crops that I feel like using to the gym more than running around. I am definitely more comfortable with looser clothing which is why I size up. The virtuous tank and Venus tanks needed to be bigger for sure since they really are tight, tight , tight IMO. Also scoop me Ups I need to size up. I do not like the feeling of almost dislocating my shoulders when I am putting anything on and of course worse when taking it off after a sweaty session. It sticks!!!
I grabbed a couple more Run: Bound bras in my size since I really like them. I wear about 6 pieces of LULU every time I work out. This includes my cover ups of course.
Run: Turbo shorts: tried both the currant and the dense purple in my size and they are ok but I did not buy them since I have many Turbos and not run (ha ha).
I finally saw the unity pullover and it was nice but the tencel material in the back was really easily wrinkled. No for me.
The inspire crops were just as we see it in the pic here. Plain and simple. If you like the cut, it is a good currant to have.

Team spirit LS really cute. Did not try on but the back is adorable. I saw the Currant and the Power purple.
Ok. That's it. They are supposed to let me know when they get their power purple blazer (?) WUC so I can try it on. Sorry for those gals waiting for the DSC in currant. My store got replenished again so it was plentiful here. Way cute. I love mine.

I was at my store tonight and while they didn't have many new items I did try on the Unity pullover. *drool* Super duper flattering. I was quite surprised. It drapes in all the right places, feels soft, and that v-neck is at a great point on me. Still, I just couldn't talk myself into it at that price. I have a feeling Lulu will be coming out with lots more tops and jackets as the weather gets cooler so I don't want to jump the gun now.

Also saw the new orange in person. I much prefer it to pop orange but it's still too neon and, well, orange for my liking. To its credit, it actually does look good on me, which is more than can be said for most of the colors that were out this summer. Things are looking up at Lulu.

I bought the Free to Be bra in Caspian blue and am now sort of regretting that decision. I'm not sure it offers enough support for my 34/36B boobs when running and it doesn't seem as comfortable as the Bound bra. Seems like the back might ride up too. Will probably return it but at least I got one of the new shoppers out of the deal. It's a "who's yoga?" bag but has a bicyclist on it instead of the ballerina.

Also tried on the power purple NLT, which I ordered this morning before I knew what my store had in stock. I like the pattern on the bra portion and the bra seems supportive enough but I don't think I need it. Power purple is a little too bright in person for me and will never compare to my beloved concord grape NLT. I don't think I need two purple NLTs so will likely return it once it arrives.

Hi,
so i have read all about the triangle gusset discussion, but yesterday i actually wanted to get run:inspire crop, i tried it and it isn't that the gusset is triangular it is about 2 inches too far back, i though there was a flow in this one, so i tried several other running crops and they are all the same! they are extremely uncomfortable for that reason. Does anyone know of the running tights/pants that still have oval gusset? thank you!

Anyone know when cold weather running stuff comes out? I have always run in fall/winter in North Face/Patagonia/Under Armor, but since I'm on a lulu kick, thought I'd ask what experiences people have had with cold weather lulu running gear. What items do you like?

Anonymous said...

SO frustrating! I really want to watch the video for the Run Speed Squad Shorts but the video shown is instead the one for the latest dropped crotch harem pants!
Oh boy, that's how desperate lululemon is trying to push the sale for these harems, that they are now putting that video on items that will most likely sell well. Pathetic.

Sourkraut said...

Pink Peony, thanks for your thorough store report. I'm so glad you were able to find something to motivate you in your runs. I'm sure your legs will be in fantastic shape in no time!

Good point about the back of the Unity pullover. Now I can feel better about my decision to leave it at the store since I'm pretty bad at keeping wrinkles out of my clothes under the best of circumstances. If it's a fabric that wrinkles easily I'm doomed. I also don't think it will be the warmest sweater what with the open back and that Tencel fabric. I get cold so easily that I really need cozy sweaters once it starts to get cool. Every time I resist something like this I'll mentally add it to the budget for when Lulu starts coming out with sweaters and pullovers in full force. Then I'll go crazy!

At my lulu store, neither the Dense Purple nor the Currant Scubas were faded. Both were dark and well saturated with color. I tried on the Currant Scuba, but did not notice any problems with the silver metal zipper. I didn't like the pinkish stitching around the Caspian Scuba's lulu emblem, but the jacket itself was nice. The plastic zipper on the Caspian Scuba operated the same way that the silver metal zipper operated. If your CRB is getting caught, maybe a sizing up would help :)

Your Lemon Blueberry cupcakes had me drooling! Lemon and Blueberry is the magical combo for me, as with anything with oranges. I'm not good with cooking, nor do I enjoy it. But I'm always impressed by those who do. (My older sis and mom are the cooking goddesses, so I'm happy to help with the prep work and my husband is the "one man clean up crew", whenever we visit them!)

I'm also not much of a chocolate lover,(I know....I'm weird, our whole household is like that. Salt water taffy is my thing, caramel is my husband's and both my husband and son love coffee ice cream. Chocolates will be left untouched...)but your Peanut Butter Oreo cupcakes will do a lot of people in. Looks so lucious and dangerous!

Cool blog and love your kitty! We both appreciate good photography (his xmas present was the Nikon D90 and the whole menagerie of lenses while I took the easy route with my Nikon Coolpix P500-love that easy camera!) I really appreciate the artistic approach of good photography, where even drying chonies(sp?) is a piece of artwork! ;)

Sorry to all for this totally non lulu entry. Please excuse me. xo :)

Anon @ 12:52pm...I did try sizing up and it was too large in the arms and mid-section. It isn't a sizing issue though. I have quite a few Scubas and never had an issue on sizing. An educator once tried to get me to size down even, which would be a mistake. I wouldn't say that the metal zipper is a design flaw, it is just a personal preferance thing. I prefer the plastic one so that it doesn't get caught on stuff.

It could be that the ones that I got (dense purple and currant) happened to be out of the norm as far as fading goes, but at this point, it doesn't matter because they are all sold out so I can't try another. And, I have heard others complaining about the color too, so I don't think I am alone on this.

Just got my order from last upload (takes a long time!) and i just wanted to report in! The power purple define is gorgeous, no stitching issues, love it! Also, the ziggy wee caspian WUs are so so beautiful, comfy and soft. I was really surprised as i wasn't sure i'd keep them, but i don't want to even take them off! They are thick enough to be worn in all climates which is nice! The quality in these items gives me hope!

@Anon 7:32 -- No, I'm not actually in Germany. Alas, I'm in the much less exotic New Jersey. I just like to keep people on their toes by making them try to pronounce and remember the confusing German name of my blog.

Re: the dense purple Scubas
Mine was a little faded with a few distressed spots. I thought that was the way it was meant to be so now I'm a little annoyed that I didn't try ordering another one. Not to mention that my two weeks are up so there's no returning it now. Maybe I'll keep the tags on and if my store ever gets them I can angle for an exchange on the grounds of mine being defective. Between this and the screwy stitching on my Scoop Me Up, which I haven't been able to replace since it's sold out, I'm starting to wonder if I should order two of everything I really want just in case one has quality issues. Seems like a waste and a pain but if there's something I really want (like that damn Caspian blue Scoop Me Up) it sucks to have to return it and miss out.

Aww, yogibabe, thanks so much for the kind words! I'm an equal opportunity dessert consumer so I'm happy with almost anything. I just made another batch of those blueberry lemon cupcakes except made a tea-infused frosting to go with it. Delicious! And I'm a Nikon girl too so am glad we can now exchange the secret Nikon handshake. I got mine used on Craigslist when I wasn't sure if I'd even take to photography and now find myself wishing I could justify a huge upgrade to a D700. Then I look at the price tag (usually around $2k) and faint. Maybe if I can ever cut back on the Lulu purchases I'll be able to con my husband into buying me one. I can dream...

I have several pairs of luxtreme crops-most notably, a lot of inspire crops that I bought this past January. All have a triangle gusset. I haven't had any issues with my sun sprinter or run in the sun crops. However, I have issues with the new inspires both with muffin top, and CT. I never had that problem.

As for the people who think discussing underwear and CT is TMI, then just move on from those comments. I think it's great that those issues can be discussed here in a more anonymous forum, because it can be embarrassing. Furthermore, who better to know how to avoid CT than fellow addicts? I've gotten some great tips for wearing my newer WUs that I can't bear to part with.

Minda: Have you tried Daily or Barre Method? Do you still prefer Pure Barre? We have Pure barre, dailey method, barre method, so it's confusing to know which one to try. But results in 10 days-I'm all for it. Do you find you get too sore to run? How often do you think a person should go to see the results you're talking about?

Thanks.

@Sandra: I have all the EnF's and I don't find it to be sheer. I also did not size up which I occasionally do with some crops. My complaint is when I do kickboxing or move a lot it tends to define my private area (TMI). I guess it shifts somewhat but these are a dream really. I love the deep indigo.

I tried the Astro crop yesterday, it is similar to the clam diggers (straight cut legs) but not as soft, it is also made of thicker material. It was definitely tight in the thigh area but the waist was flattering. I don't like the lowered to the center cut personally since my crops always seem to shift downwards when I exercise. If I sized up my thighs would fit more comfortably but the waist will flap around. No for me. I love my clam digger in deep indigo for yoga and lounging around.

I got my purple denim gather and crow crop in the mail today with my currant crb. The crb is definitely not as soft as the flare light or the new heathered power purple crb's I tried on. The gather and crow is denim and I forgot to size up so it is snug which means I have to use it for working out. It is adorable on. Triangle gusset. I can see the gusset is placed way in the back which seems to draw the middle stitching back more. I can see the definition of the crotch but not necessarily CT. It is a size up item for me for sure. I am keeping the gather and crow in case I lose inches when I start training. Hopefully.

Pink Peony, I'm sure you'll start to see some big changes once you get into running. The running fairies will find fat you didn't even know existed on your body and they'll banish it for you. It's like a miracle!

I'm not Minda, and I haven't tried barre classes other than PB. I did post earlier about PB making my thighs smaller (amazing!). Here's my thoughts anyway. :)
Owners if my local PB recommend 3-4 days per week to see big results. If your goal is firming up, I think that will do it. If your goal is losing weight, you're going to need additional cardio. You mentioning running... I am also a runner. I have done a few half marathons over the past 4 years and I'm currently training for my first 26.2! My usual week consists of: 3 morning runs at 3-5 miles each, 3 after work PB sessions, Friday morning PB before work, and Saturday longer training run. This usually works for me. However, I can definitely tell that my hips are fatigued during PB "seat work" (butt toning) when I'm running a lot. When I'm not training for a race, I often cut back on the running and try to hit the PB studio 5 days a week.
All this said, my long runs are only half marathon distance right now. As I venture into the 15 to 20 mile Saturday range, I may have to cut back on the PB.
Good luck to you finding a barre class! Also, I know that my local PB will let you try 2 classes before you lose elidgibility for the newcomer rate of $100 per month. The other bar options might have something similar. Maybe you should test them all before committing.
Sincerely,
Not Minda :)

@Anon 10:27 I agree with everything Anon 11:36 said!!
- I have not tried Barre Method Daily Method or Barre 3. Only been to Pure Barre. My sister does Barre Method in Boston. She said she likes it but likes the music at PB better. They are pretty similar from what she says. The only reason she chose barre method over PB is because the PB was further away!

To have something you can live with - with results I think 3-4 times a week is great. I just like going 6 times a week because I love how it makes me feel!! There are days I push myself harder than others and our instructors are great about having a good mix of super challening double tube work outs and then followed by a less challenging workout the next day.

If I know I need to ramp miles up for running I will just back off to 4 times a week. I love going to PB then hitting a fast paced elliptical 30 minutes after to get a good sweat up. I like elliptical because its INSIDE in this horrid summer florida heat LOL. But when I run it is in the early morning. I find it difficult to do PB AFTER running spinning or elliptical. - But its ok if I do it after. Its just a matter of listening to the body. -
The first week of doing pb back to back is horrid! LOL I couldn't move for 3 days! But then I started building strength and everything started shaping up! I find I am running better with all this awesome core strength built up to help me hang on ! LOL.

when i was only running - or spinning or doing cardio dance or zumba - i never had this full out awesome full body awesome worked feel - like I do with pure barre. I just felt like I worked part of me. running is for the weight drop and cardio - PB is for strength tone and peaceful energy!

It can get kind of sharky yuppy sometimes - lol but i ignore that aspect of PB and focus on how much I love the work out. lots of posy posy snotty B's lol. but ignore that ! hehee! the workout is awesome

I forgot to say that PB does not make me too sore to run. Running sometimes makes my muscles tired for PB though.. And there's an added bonus of increased flexibility from PB, which is generally a problem for runners, as it's easy to get stiff from roadwork.

Oh yes, Minda, You are so right about core strength!! I forgot to mention that too. I feel like a more efficient runner since I've added PB to my life. My core is so much stronger! And yes, it makes youfeel great! The exercises are so challenging and pace is so fast, you are forced to forget about your dirty house, your annoying boss, or anything else that was on your mind before you walked in the studio.
Yay barre!
I'll stop gushing now, I promise.
-and I'm still not Minda :)

Oh now I want to try Pure Barre. There is not a gym (the 2 we have here) that offers this here. I tried to talk to the manager a long time ago to hire somebody but she can't find one. I live in a university town so students go to their own rec center for working out. I have to drive 40 miles to one. I can do that maybe twice a week to get my feet wet and then buy the video. The gym is starting a Piloxing (?)class. Pilates and boxing combo. I am in! I don't know what it really is but I like both of those so yay.
Can you guys recommend a video? I am able to do kickboxing or body combat for an hour after an hour of cycling or Zumba. Yes, I do get really tired but I don't want to buy a video that is not my level of fitness one way or the other.

Thank you all...

Does anyone run, do pure barre and yoga? I run everyday at lunch and do yoga after work but I wanna try pure barre also. Would it be worth alternating yoga and pure barre? But does it not feel good if you don't do it as much? Because then I'd probs do 3 yoga and 3 pure barre on a good week..

Anonymous said...

Hi! sorry I have to jump on the Pure Barre train as well as I just began going almost 3 weeks ago ( going 4-5 times per week) and the results I've gotten so far are amazing! I'm tall and lanky with problem areas like my core and weak arms and legs. This class has really really changed my body in this short time and I am completely hooked! My arms/legs/butt and back are way more defined and my core strength has increased drastically. I also love the atmosphere of the class! Most of the women in my class wear lulu so I love to see what everyone wears for ideas for outfits! They also sell lulu at my studio so its awesome to find things they might not have in the store yet! I started running last year and did two half's in that time period and am training for another in october. Although the first month I am solely doing barre, i'm going to cut down the amount I go a week and add in runs. In response to the dvd's of barre my mom just ordered one ( bc she saw such a difference in my body) and she says its awesome so I would definitely try the DVD if you don't live near a studio! Sorry about the OT rambling but I'm such an advocate of barre I had to speak up!!

Anonymous said...

I have to put in a plug for Bar Method! I'm sure the competitors are very similar, but I can personally speak for Bar as being the greatest workout I have ever tried. I was hooked after the first week and have been going 5-6 times a week for the past year. It is a total body-changer and the only thing I've tried (of hundreds of workouts) that eliminates trouble spots and muffin tops. You get really lean, stand taller, and generally feel so much better. Classes last an hour, so it has been hard for me to find time to run on top of class, but I try to add a 20 minute run before or after class a few times a week. However, I don't need to. I burn loads of calories and have completely changed my metabolism through Bar. It's the best!

Anon 130: I run, currently training for my 5th marathon, and do yoga. I’m certified to teach yoga but I don’t have any classes running until September. I’ve also trying to get into a bit of light weights and circuit training to do some toning but I find it hard to fit everything in. I love spin class too but in my area there’s only one class at one time and I find it hard to commit to going at the same day/time every week because so often unexpected situations occur with my work, my dog or my husband. I also walk my dog for over 2 hours per day but I’m not sure if that is really much exercise considering he’s pretty leisurely and likes to stop and sniff every two feet. I think running is great exercise but I do feel that you get to a certain point and you start having to find new ways to challenge yourself.

Hi Minda & not Minda/ still not Minda :-)

Thanks for the information!

Thanks to everyone who has chimed in about PB and Barre Method. I really appreciate it!

Still not Minda: I do a fair number of half marathons, and I've done one full marathon. It really is an awesome feeling crossing the finish line.

I'm definitely going to check out the PB studio when it opens. It's in a very yuppie neighborhood, but I am going to go! I don't want to lose weight, but there are some places I'd like to firm up in the behind region:-)

Thanks again:-)

$72 for a new energy bra on eBay!!! totally crazy!!! Some people have actual stores where they have like 100+ new items with tags...double and triple the price! Seriously, I can understand people can do this, but how do people have everything, in multiple sizes??? they must go to the store and buy everything in sight.... LOL

Anonymous said...

Hi- Does anyone have any feedback/thoughts on the wee strip iconic wrap and the unity sweater? I can't decide whether or not to keep them. Mostly, I am worried about quality issues, other than the fact that both items are expensive.

Thanks ahead of time.

Went to the store today to get the ray speed shorts... yay! finally got them in that color and they are perfect. I also bought a slipless headband in black since they did not have any other cool colors... sad.

I saw the flare CRB and it is amazing. I would have bought it for the color except those are super long. The heather power purple was also suuuper soft and amazing. I wish they made those colors in the racing length for small people.

And, if anything else comes out in flare like shorts or wunder unders, I am so getting it!

Anon 3:54 - I LOVE my Unity pullover! It's looks gorgeous on! I bought it TTS so it's not really loose fitting on me. I've worn it with a bright CRB and crops and with my jeans and it looks fab both ways. For the price I'm not wearing it apres run pullover, it's all about an evening out or something like that. The Tencel does wrinkle, but I find it doesn't show too badly with the black. Is it took expensive?? Yes. But I love it, so it's worth it!!

Bought the new purple CRB - love the color!! I checked out the new flare color CRB too. It's beautiful and bright but it was just a brighter version of my pop orange really ... and I held it against the flash color and decided it's just too similar so I'm not buying another one.

I received a product notification yesterday that had a pic of a Venus tank with power purple (bra top)commuter denim(lower half)I can't wait to try it on. My local store said it wasn't in stock yet but they put new stuff out tomorrow!! :)

My dense purple scuba looked faded and had some spots inside the hood where it looked super faded. It also had strings hanging off the front. Like it had been back stitched and cut off but they left like 2 inches of string hanging. I just wasnt in love with it so I returned it. I really wanted a scuba because they are so warm and I'm always cold but I didn't like the brushed outside, made the scubas look worn and old.

Sandra said...

The great debate... Are they or are they NOT see through? LOL! I swear, the black I tried on we're terribly see through! I could see everything! I seriously know now that there are different items from different factories and thus we get good quality vs. not good. I am noticing that WUC are coming from China, Cambodia, and Sri-lanka, etc. I love this blog because it gives you an idea on what is possible good quality to buy but I've noticed people blaming sheerness and CT on people wearing the wrong size and that just may be the case for some but I highly doubt it is for the majority. The fact is that the quality has changed with some items and not others and the best option is to try it on in the store or use this wonderful site to get more info and take a chance. Thank you and every one else for all your great info and reviews, they def help me make better buys :)

Does anyone know if the Currant and/or Dense Purple Turbos are 2 way or 4 way stretch? Ordered both, but dying to know and can't wait til package gets here to find out! Thanks!

4 way stretch, i believe. I saw them today instore.

YAY!!! Thank you, 6:42pm! I can't do CrossFit in anything but the 4 way stretch, so I'm very happy to hear that!

Anonymous said...

Oops, I meant M&M, didn't realize you had a name up there! Thanks again!

The purple is definitely 4 way. The red has that stripe in it like the DSC/DSP. Did not seem "as" stretchy as the purple.

@Anon 5:20 - thanks for the heads up on Venus tanks! Love them! I only have it in fossil and was planning to get more colors but since it's a definite size up item all big sizes are out (usually 6-8 but a 10 in Venus). Will the commuter denim fabric be too hot though?

Anonymous said...

Any chance that there will be some sort of reload?? I missed out on the Ziggy WUs from last week :( Also, has anyone's local store NOT recieved them or usually recieves items late?! If so, how long does it usually take until they finally receive the items? Thanks in advance!

Anonymous said...

Anon 7:46 - Me again! I think the fabric on the new purple Venus tank is the same as what you already have, they called just the color "commuter denim" in the email. In the pic it looks exactly the same. It's just this rich, dark color that beautifully compliments the power purple bra top! If you are a fan of the tank and you like purple, this will be a no-brainer purchase! :)

@anon7:53 pm. Texas did not get but the flare ziggy wuc so it will still come specially in the warmer areas.
@anon 3:54 I have two iconic wraps and I love them both. I ordered the striped one this time. My black one is older. I tried on the unity pullover and it was too long for me (5'2"). The iconic wrap I wear when lounging around and it feels good next to my skin. I'm not a fan of sweater material though. I like the unity on people when it's meant for their body.

OT- i am wondering about Zobda? It is on Rue La La on Friday? Sizing? Ideas? Thanks in advance!! By the way, after the last upload I should not be shopping!

@anon 11:55pm. I shop Ruelala too and was looking at Zobha website today for what they might have. Glad you mentioned it. I want to try different things myself. Hanro did not work for me. I got two different undies but they still shifted when I moved around. COOL! I'll be watching for it.

I wear a 6 in LLL and a 4 in Zobha, both tops and bottoms. I prefer LLL WUCs to the the Zobha crops. Zobha does have well designed tanks. Always good to have options for yoga class.

I'm not sure how long those purple wunderunders have been around but they just may be my first ever pair in that style. I've read the reviews on the LL site and they say they are good for running as well as general gym stuff. My question is "how good for running?" Would I just be better off with my sun sprinter crops and save the $, or are the wunderunders really that special?

I like Wunder unders for yoga/casual wear- not running. Be careful though, b/c recent releases have been see through and have a new gusset that pretty much causes camel toe on everyone :( I LOVE the sun sprinter crops, would stick with those for running! :)
