Down Town Vest and More

I just love the look of the Down Town Vest.

Flare Scuba, Pedal Power Jacket, Presence of Mind Jacket

The Daily Tank looks so cute with the Energy (or Free To Be Bra underneath it. I think they've fixed the too-long straps, too, because it fit just right when I tried it on in the store the other day.  Shown with the Warrior Pant.

Just stopped by the Gap. They have a fleece jacket- looks nearly identical to the Ray Scuba. It is a little bit more lightweight, but still cozy and has the thumbholes on the arm. Best part is that it is only $54.95! Plus they have a 25% off sale going on until Saturday. Guess I can return my ray scuba, get the gap one, and justify getting the flare orange one!

Love the vest too, but NYC has vest weather for about one month. Oh well :(
Loving the Flare scuba, but my CRB is almost too bright for true fall wear.I'll have to try this. i find scubas make me look fat but it's a great weight for my lifestyle.

I recieved my reversible dense purple/black WUC, they fit really nice!
At first I did notice that the material looks and feels more poly-ish?? Reminds me of Zella's (Nordstroms) crops and my instant reaction was "oh no" since Zella stuff does not fit me well at all... It could be my lighting but the color, both purple and black, looks so much richer!
After I inspected the stitching and found probably the best stitching I have run across in months, I tried them on and they fit perfect! They don't feel tighter than my reg WUC, in fact they feel very comfy! No camel toe either! The placement of the triangle is perfect. Not even close to causing CT.

I just received my Bordeaux WUs in the mail--no shopper! I have too many and usually end up using them as gift bags, but I'm still irritated. It still says online that shoppers are included with all online purchases. Anybody else have this happen?

The vest is cute.

But....you knew there had to be a but, right? But it is absurdly overpriced for what it is. I have similar vests from Lands' End and LL Bean that cost a fraction of the lululemon version. And have better features, come in more colors, and oh yes, have a lifetime guarantee. I used to have a purple one from Patagonia that was nearly identical to this one, and sadly, it has gotten lost in various moves that I've made over the years.

I just can't imagine spending $170 on this vest. And I say that as someone who is perfectly willing to spend $100 on a Define jacket.

since they restocked all recent colors of crb this morning, except heathered power purple.. what are the chances they will restock heathered power purple online? my stores have none and i missed out online :(

No more with the "gap is AWESOme and on sale", PLEASE. It's not lulu, it doesn't feel or look like lulu. Go leave your reviews on gaps website.

Great tip about the "ray" fleece- thanks! Geez, someone on here needs to simmer down! Just sayin.

I placed two orders this weeks and got no shoppers in both.

Does anyone have a fit review on the vest?

Yikes. Unrelated but I just received my split pea crb. After comparing it to my ray crb, I have to say they are nearly identical. It is DEFINITELY going back. Based on what I read on the blogs, I had high hopes that split pea would be more green. Not so with my crb... That being said, I love the ray color so I would still recommend split pea to anyone who missed ray.

Totally agree about dense purple wunder unders- thick, soft, awesomeness. They do remind me of Zella but fit like lululemon. No camel toe. Wore them today and color is beautiful and rich.

I also placed 2 orders this week & received no shoppers for either one. This hasn't happened in a very long time.

I totally agree the vest is overpriced. However, I couldn't resist. I ordered the light color & the currant. I kept the currant. It's a beautiful bright red w/ a slightly more orange tinge than the define. I think it's because of the fabric. I usually wear a 6 in tops w/ shelf bras & 4s in CRBs, scubas, every yogis, etc. I got the 4 & it fits well but I don't have much extra room to layer. It's more puffy than the Run Turn Around vest from last year but still very slimming for a down vest. I live in CA & find vests useful in the winter layered over long sleeves. I also wear a vest under my jacket to snowboard. The light color (I can't remember the name) is very pretty w/ a hint of blush color to it. Very versatile. I just can't justify keeping both. In fact, I'm not sure I can justify keeping even one but I think I will end up keeping this currant vest.

Got my heathered angel blue CRB and purple vinyasa scarf today. LOVE! Tags came immediately off them both.

No shopper in mine either.

update from the bordeaux WU no shopper girl: I online chatted with the GEC, and they said it was a mistake and that they would send me "some". Why "some" when I only ordered one item, I don't know.

No shopper for me either... I did notice that the Angel CRB is very very sheer. I didn't notice that it was the Luon Light when I was buying it. It is even lighter weight than the Power Purple CRB that I bought last week. Still debating keeping it. I also got the dense purple/black reversible WUC and they are great! I agree that they have a different rougher material than my last pair of reversible WUCs (coal/black). I still like the color and am 75% sure I'll keep them!

don't you have to check the "bag me" box to get a shopper?

I got my angel blue turbo tank today, which I love! Fits TTS and the color is great, this is my first one of this tank and I'm really glad I gave it a try. Mine didn't come with a shopper either, but it did come with the bra cups! I honestly couldn't care less about the shopper. Maybe LLL is listening to all the website reviews that suggest leaving out the shopper and including cups instead.

I agree! Who needs a shopper when you buy online?!? What a ridiculous waste of bags since most of us already have dozens lying around the house. I'd much rather bra cups myself!

I agree about the shoppers. The first 5-10 of those bags are cute, but after that they just start cluttering up my hall closet. A couple weeks ago I didn't get a shopper either (won't know about this week's order until next week since I live in VA). The other common scenario is I order something large like a scuba and STILL get a small bag. Seriously, if you're going to put a bag in my order, make it an appropriate size for what I ordered or just don't bother.

I thought the Angel Blue CRB was too sheer for me too and I returned it. I have the PPurple and love it along with my heathered grey xl crb. My pop orange has only been worn once... The PPink gets a lot of use even tho it's not as soft and comfy :)

those who got the dense purple/blk reversible wus, did you go up a size? i got a 4 and 6 and usually wear a 4 but the 4 on this seems a little tight on my waist and butt. but then the 6 is looser on my leg than i like.

Sandra said...

I stayed true to size. You should probably stick to the 4 since things seem to stretch out on me when I work out, I also don't like the look of behind the knees baggy. I would tell you to go to a store to try to find a better fitting size 4 but I didn't see the reversible WUC in any of the 3 stores near me. I had a feeling that I wouldn't so I am glad I ordered online.

Marmot makes great vests I would not buy the lulu ones, even though I think the colors they offer are really nice

I love hearing about Gap and other similar items in this blog.

My wallet is safe again. What is up with the waistband arrow on the backside of the Warrior Pant? What is it pointing to? Very unflattering. LLL's designs have become ridiculous. Their refusal to continue to produce customer favorite styles in all the new colors will affect their profit this quarter, too. LLL disappoints again.
