Headbands, Calm SS Tee, Arm Warmers, and More

I know it's unimaginative to lead off with a headband photo but I am intrigued by the Pigment/ Heathered Pigment Tonka Stripe one. I hope there is a Cool Racerback coming in this pattern.

The bra top portion of the Hot Spell Tanks kinda remind me of the old Debut Tanks.

I got the pigment blue tonka stripe headband in the upload this morning! Would love to see this in a CRB...maybe that's why I passed on the pigment blue CRB from the upload!

Does anyone know what color is the middle headband? It reminds me of seersucker, which I have a soft spot for! Hope too see this in a couple items, besides a headband.

I bought the pigment blue/tonka stripe headband- I couldn't pass it up when I was in the store today. It would love to see it in a CRB.

Does anyone know what brand of shoe the model is wearing in the Pigment Blue Reversible WU photo? I've been looking all over for a very low profile basic sneaker just like these!

TIA!

@ anon 7:10 pm - that is pretty pink tonka stripe

The Pigment Blue CRB looks extra long to me. Please correct me if you know it was labelled otherwise. I love the long, but just purchased the regular. :(

They have plenty of room for larger calves, and they seem to stay up well, at least in my store trial. I'll report back on actual function. Additionally, they are super soft.

I have last years' eternal leg warmers and have large calves and love them! Very stretchy and soft! And they can make crops winter friendly! Highly recommended!

For the record, that tonka stripe pigment blue/heathered pigment blue pattern is also available on the new LLL running gloves :) I ordered these yesterday and am soooo excited, a CRB in this pattern would be so lovely (but i also wished for a may WAFS CRB and that didn't happen lol).

Hey LLA can you post a picture of any of the flare swiftly shirts shown in real life? I almost ordered one but the color looks pale pink online but I know based on my CRB that it should be a bright vibrant orange with only a pink undertone. Any pics would be great!

Off topic but what laundry detergent does everyone use for their lulu? Just wondering if there's something to help prevent pilling

Thanks! Mikayla

I just received my bordeaux drama breath of fire bra in my usual size 4. OMG. It is soooo tight. It's hurting my collar bones :( and I feel like I can't lift my arms. I'm 5'5", 112 pounds, 34B chest and this bra is giving me armpit and back fat. It's pinching the middle of my back and making a fat lump through the center cut out. Add that to the fact that size 4 cup inserts don't actually fit in the cups ( even though it came with inserts already in place causing the seam in the cup to twist and now won't lay flat) and this bra is awful. I'm so disappointed. My neck is aching.

@ Mikayla - I just use my regular Tide but wash everything on delicate cycle and hang dry. I also turn some items inside out before washing to help keep down on the pilling.

I also bought two of the Breath of Fire bras. I'm also 34B, but have always fit size 6 in lululemon bras, although I'm a solid 4 in all tanks, tops and bottoms. I can only say that this bra fits so great that it became my favorite bra amongst all the sports bras from lululemon I have collected through the years. I think with the exception of the TTT and the ones for hot yoga, I have if not bought, at least tried each new bra style LLL has come out with in the past three years.
The Breath of Fire is so convenient with the plastic clasp in the front, the back of the 50 Reps Bra, and the wide straps over the shoulders. I also have several Lift and Separate, and can only say the Breath of Fire is an improved version of it. The ones I got, fit the inserts like a glove, and give me a nice cleavage without being too sexy for the gym. I'm really happy with the fit and look of this bra.

LLA could you compare the new Flare Swiftly with Pop Orange Swiftly? Or with Dazzling and Flash? I'm so confused with the Flare shade when it comes to the Swiftly fabric. Sometimes it looks so much like Flash, then like Dazzling, and some other times just like Pop Orange.

Or if someone has the new Flare swiftky, and any Swiftky in the other colors I mentioned above, could you comment on which of all of them (Dazzling, Flash, Pop Orange), is Flare the closest to?

Thank you

LLA what Define are you wearing on your Twitter pic? And the tank, is the April (or May?) wee are from space? Love the color combo!

detergent has nothing to do with pilling. pilling is caused by abrasion against the fibers - this can happen through wear or by other fabrics/textures rubbing against your lulu. eventually, all fabrics pill...but low quality fabrics which used shorter fibers pill faster than those that use long fibers (this is why egyptian cotton is preferable to ordinary cotton...the egyptian cotton fibers are much longer and so are better quality). if your lulu is pilling it is either because it is cheap quality (sadly true in some cases) or it's being rubbed by something. detergent plays no factor here. to prevent needless pilling in the wash, here are several things you can do: wash on delicate cycle, wash in a front-loading machine, do not wash abrasive items like denim with your lulu, turn all items inside out, put items in a garment/lingerie bag when washing, and hang dry. i suppose you could also hand wash your pieces, but that's too much work for me. personally, i wash my lulu inside out with everything, including my jeans, but i do use a front loading machine which is much more gentle on clothing anyway. i don't put items in special bags or use delicate cycle. then i hang dry unless i need to dry stuff super quickly for some reason, and then i throw it in the dryer. i only use method free and clear or seventh generation free and clear on all my clothes because it's gentle and won't destroy the environment (or my technical clothing).

I use whatever is on sale at the supermarket for washer detergent and like mentioned above, I turn my clothes inside out when washing, cold water, front loader. never had a problem with pilling or bleeding. Not so far... :)

Anyone heard if they are going to do a swiftly in the angel blue? I saw one on ebay from canada... but my local store doesnt have them yet.

Jenn @10:06, My regular size in the bordeaux drama breath of fire bra was WAY too tight too. I never use the cups in anything anyway, but I sometimes try things on with them in first just to see. I could barely breathe.

I think it's definitely a size up item, something I found with the run: engage bra too. Actually I think I went up 2 sizes in the engage.

Nice clothes. I love them. They are obviously trendy. I actually have same style for some of them. Though I really don't wear them that much here because I consider the weather.

Mikayla said...

Thanks @luluaddict @sophia I have been using tide, delicate cycle, and inside out (only lulu items washed together), and still have a lot of pilling on my pants/crops :(. I saw some Woolite at Walmart that said helps prevent pilling, so it got me to thinking maybe I shouldn't be using tide on my lulu...but good to know that it would not be the detergent causing the pilling.

I just received my new WU in bordeaux drama, and want them to last longer than my other crops/pants have....sadly my Luon pants/crops only gets a couple months at most before they turn into a pilled mess (but yet I keep buying more haha!). I don't think it's abrasion as they are pilled from the waistband to leg, but lulu doesn't think it's poor quality either (I've sent pictures..). I was hoping laundry detergent would be the solution.

I'll end my rant though..I still love lulu :)

Anna- I just bought a Ss swiftly fin Angelnat my store this week

My store has both ss and ls swiftly in angel blue. I did not buy any since I'm angeled out. I tried on the 105F crops and they were nice. The waist band was surprisingly high like the will crop/pant waist bands. I sized up but the waist was a little loose on me. The thighs were fine. I know the other way would be true if I stayed with my usual size 4. I might still get it and the bordeaux actually looked nice. I don't own any bordeaux so I might get the milky way which my store did not have. The fabric felt like inspires. I'm 5'2" and it hit me2" under my knees. The front part of the hem was longer. Overall a comfortable fitting crop. I decided to return both my turbos although I was keeping one for my husband but he would not miss it. I bought the NLT in milky way and black, the slipless headband in MW and the pigment striped headband.
The 105F singlet was too long for me. It was sheer and soft. The Calm ss were pretty but the material is like the singlet, very sheer and soft but it looks like it could snag easily like the swiftly or worse. Passed on all of these. This material is not the same as the perfect layer tees which are sheer but not a lot of stretch to it. I saw the sweater and it is a long , thick thing. I couldn't get myself to try it on since it was 98 deg here. I also saw all the crazy hot spells and onesie. Did not go there. Reminded me of James Bond girls in the olden days. None of the educators said anything about owning one and they are pretty open with me. All the dart and dash shorts were on MD. I was going to grab the mirage one with deep indigo but I ordered 2 grooves from the last upload so I will wait until I see my grooves and decide. They had bordeaux DSC but I am just not a fan of this color. Ok that's it. I would have tried on more but my husband was waiting in the truck (in the heat) so I was slightly in a hurry. Hopefully someone else can give a better review on the new ones.

@mikayla - what a bummer! One thing you could try to save/revive your currently pulled pants is to use a pill shaver design for sweaters. They're easy to find at bed bath beyond for about $10...it won't prolong the life of your pants, but it will at least get rid of the current (and future) pilling so that they look better for longer (but eventually, they'll get holes when the fabric wears too thin in the pulled areas)

Anonymous said...

@ Mikayla...sucks you are experiencing pilling on your LL gear. I don't do anything that special and have had no problems. I wash all laundry and LLL in cold. I usually use liquid Tide Cold Water but I've used other major brands as well (really it's whatever is on sale at the store...Gain, Sunlight). I use a top load machine and honestly stuff does not always go on the delicate cycle. I do put my CRB's and Y bras in a lingerie bag. All clothes are turned inside out. I hang all LLL to dry.

I just finally received my (BIG) order from last week and its about 50/50 love hate... which is not too bad I suppose! Starting with the loves... Dense purple WU crops are now my new favorites! Definitely one of the nicest new items in a while. Great quality and fit with no sheerness and no camel toe. The color is gorgeous too and I'm not even a purple person. It really goes nicely with anything and is super flattering.

Also LOVE the angel blue NLT! Does anyone else find the NLT's fit better this time round? I'm a 4 and always found the straps/bra part a bit loose... but all my new ones are perfect. So maybe girls who always found a 4 too big... try again!

Flare Tonka stripe CRB is super nice... really wish I hadn't taken the tags of my regular Flare one as this is so similar... but so much better! Oh well.
Other new CRB's (AB and SP) are nice, soft and thin as others mentioned. I also think they fit tighter and seem shorter than most of my others? Still like em though and they will work well with shorts.

Speaking of shorts... my biggest disappointment is the new grey stripe/split pea speeds. I was so looking forward to them but the seams are all weirdly puckered and the back looks like a diaper. Boo! Did anyone else get a pair like this? Definitely not flattering like all my other speeds... and of course they are sold out now :(

Another bummer for me is the Turbo tanks. I adore these... the 4 fits perfect and the back is gorgeous. But the bra cups show through the fabric no matter how I try to position them. Anyone have any tips on how to get them to look 'natural'... at the moment it kinda screams "I have no boobs so I've had to use these weird little pads as you can SEE!" Gutted.

Oh and one other thing... the tea lounge crops. They are awesome... except for the back. The rise is so much higher than at the front so they sort of fall down and bunch weirdly around the butt. Perhaps it wouldn't be so obvious in black?

Ok thats all for now... would love to hear others feedback on these items too!

P.S. OMG I'm on my THIRD go trying to prove I'm not a robot!!! WTF?

I just received my purchase from last week: angel turbo, pow purple ls swiftly, currant 1/2 zip swiftly, and every yogi ls in white/caspian blue. angel turbo is gorgeous and fits beautifully- it also looks GREAT under the ls swift and zip swift- angel with pow purple and angel with currant are phenomenal combos. might return the every yogi- i like the fit of the cabin ls much more, but loving the blue color of this ls- what to do??

I tried on the serenity sweater after considering it a must-have, and then very quickly decided it was mustn't!

I wanted to love it, as I loved the concept (not the price) but sadly it was just to much material. I didn't try to size down as I am a true 6 in Lulu and I worried that sizing down would compromise the "fluidity" of the sweater. I wish it would have had more of a Dolman style to it, like the Liberty T had. Wallet is happy about outcome.

And funny story my 7 year old watched the Lulu video clip of this sweater, and said "Mommy that's so cool it like a "sneed"...yep she just saw the movie the Lorax:)

NicoleC - I put in bra cups one size larger than the actual shirt and that solved the wierd bra cup problem for me.

Sophia said...

@nicolec - just bought the AB turbo and noticed the same thing with the cups! Horrible! And without the cups I just look flat :/ one thing that did help a bit was sizing up in the cups.....I have a size 6 tank but I put the cups from my size 8 flow y in there and it's much better...it just takes up more space and is flatter to start so that you don't get the weird lines around your boobs....I don't know if it's possible to fit the size 8 cups in your tank, but if you have a store close to you, I'd give it a try. Otherwise call GEC and ask them to send some to you

Anonymous said...

I agree about the Speeds! They fit too big in the back! I'm thinking a size down would have worked better as I'm really in between sizes in Speeds- I take an 8 in all crops and went with a 10 in the Speeds but have lost a bit of weight so suspect I would fit in an 8 now. I remember trying the 8 and 10 on originally and being in between (I would need a 9) but ended up sizing up for comfort and fit. I hate when they are too short and tight. But of course they are sold out. The color is super cute so I will wash and wear them a few times and maybe sell them on eBay down the line.

Anyone have an 8 (these are the fossil twisted stripe/split pea) willing to sell or trade for my 10? :)

Anonymous said...

@ Nicole C 6:04 PM...I have the new Speed Shorts in twisted stripe fossil/split pea/black and there are no construction or fit problems with them. They're my regular size 4. I really like the color combo for these ones.

Surprise purchase for me last night - pigment blue scoop me up tank! I was determined not to like these, but it was the only item in pigment blue in my store, so I tried it on. They only had a size up, and so I wasn't expecting much. OMG it's beautiful. I'm a 36-38 C/D and a lot of Lulu tanks look obscene on me (far too low cut for my liking) but this one is so beautiful. Flattering and mildly supportive - enough to wear for yoga or lounging (or in my case to the office with a light wrap sweater, today) but I couldn't run in it.

I hope we see more tanks in pigment. I think I'm getting a CRB. Such a beautiful colour, so rich!! *love*

Got my cashew/heathered black WU crops. I love them! Not sheerness or see-thru issues. I'm 5 ft, 112 lbs, and size 6 fits great. They're a great neutral that paired nicely with a lot of my casual tops and blouses for casual wear. My boyfriend said they make me look slim and my butt looks great. Can't complain about that comment! These small strips def don't make you look bigger.

Also got the dense purple/black reversible WU crops. I think I needed a 4 as these are loose in the knees and around my calves. They feel like silk and are nice and thick. My only problem is that the black side has visable purple stitching. To me, that does not make them reversible. I was hoping for all black stitching on the black side. I will be returning them.

Are the black stripe/split pea speed shorts 4way stretch? Luxtreme? Curious, as the flare trimmed ones from the down under sneak peak look very similar, but I'm only after 4way stretch. Thanks in advance!

Anonymous said...

@ 11:33 AM, the twisted stripe grey/split pea/black speed shorts are stiffer fabric. The hang tag states: "Swift fabric is four-way stretch", luxtreme waistband of course. I have 2 pairs of speed shorts from earlier in the year, the hang tag says the same thing. Those (vertical stripes, colors WESM/BLK & WEWC/WHT) are stiffer than these ones. These are softer but still have the more firm material. I personally like the stiffer/more firm material. I know others prefer the other version. Hope this helps.
