Photos of the Latest

Cute boogie shorts in Ziggy Wee Caspian.

I've read fit reports that the new Every Yogi LS is super soft. It's tempting me....

Another color in the Every Yogi but I'm not sure what exactly this is but it could be Caspian.

Shown with the Flare Ziggy Wee CRB and what I think are Deep Indigo Diversity Wunders but not sure about that.

Shown with Denim Dense Purple (I think) Gather and Crop Crops
Photos of the new Currant In Stride Jacket.

Currant Studio Crops. I wasn't loving the Flare Ziggy Wee Cool Racerback by itself but I really like how it looks against Currant and Deepest Cranberry.

Deja Vu Scarf in Deepest Cranberry. I wonder if we'll see clothing in Cranberry. I would love a Define and a running luon long sleeve in this color.

YIKES in the last picture!! looks like a Halloween costume! LOL....

Nice to see some of the ladies SMILING in some of the pics...the other women, look like they just got their "mug shot" photos done! (No, offense...but if you are getting your pics done, modelling Lulu...WHY would you stand there with such a sour look on your face?!) Those were my exact thoughts, when I was looking through all the pics.... LOL A little smile.....goes a long way!!! :D

Cranberry is gorgeous! I too would love a new running top or jacket in that color.

Just got back from my store.

I decided to return my currant WU crops I purchased the other day. It wasn't a quality issue as they actually seemed decent, more that red is not my color. I have a feeling they would not be worn more than a few times 'til I would ultimately abandon them. I also passed on the currant Powery Y for the same reason. The color is gorgeous though.

I tried on the Ziggy WU pants in the darker/gray/black pattern. Gross. Not the pattern, the quality. They literally looked like nylon pantyhose (as commented by the educator). Thin and very revealing of the female form. They were not see through, but I felt naked! So disappointed. The pairs I ordered will be going back for sure. They might be super cute as casual wear with a tunic or mini skirt and boots. But I don't want to spend almost $100 on that.

I am not feeling the ziggy patterns now that I have seen in person. The flame looks like an old couch in my sorority house in the 80's. In fact we used to call it the flame couch. Someone ought to through a torch on all the stuff and burn it up.

PS: the scoop me up is a surprise winner for me. I bought another one today.

I love the cranberry in general! It's a beautiful color. I also like the look of the ziggy boogie shorts. They're small, so I don't get the feeling of print-overload.

The every yogi LS looks super long in the blue color. I'm 5'1... Can anyone describe the length of the every yogi LS?

Sourkraut said...

@JEK, haha! I think you've just inadvertently invented the name of the next Lulu color. Can't you just picture a beautiful CRB in flame piggy?

I posted this elsewhere but this post seems to be getting the most action. Anyone without a perfectly toned body wear the Fast & Free crops? I ask because I'm not sure the low rise works on my particular body type. I'd hate to return them since I adore the ruffle and indigo w/mirage waistband but they do sit rather low when I start moving around. I'm not sure if they only work for skinny girls who don't have big hip bones sticking out and a little flab around the belly. Then again, since many of my pants and crops tend to ride down when I run maybe it'll be good that these already start there. That's not an indictment on Lulu's clothes, more due to my strange body shape since it happens with most pants on me. Anybody have these who doesn't have a perfectly fit body? Feel free to reply anonymously so we don't learn the awful truth about you. :)

Yikes, overload indeed!!!

I haven't purchased any Currant yet.I'm fortunate that with my coloring I can wear a whole lot of different colors, but I'm pretty sure this is not one of them. I'm thinking it will clash with my red hair. But, I'll still check it out in the showroom on Fri!!

Speaking of our showroom, I was looking at their product notification email today & noticed that *new* this week they have the Run: Sun Sprinter SS. New??? I bought this same shirt there a good 4 weeks ago! How about some Scoop Me Up tanks or some Ebb & Flow pants? OK, that sounded really negative I didn't mean it quite that strong, but it frustrates me. I'd really like to buy more here if I could, rather than from the website.

The Every Yogi LS is heathered Caspian. Those photos are from my store which has gotten all the new Energy bras, Every Yogi LSs and currant studio crops and more!

SUN RUNNER SHORT SLEEVE....anyone know if I could swim with this? lakes, ocean, pool? I hate getting burned when I'm at the beach! Help!

Anonymous said...

@Sourkraut - I have hips and virtually no tummy and even I feel fat sometimes while wearing my fast and free crops! The waist is definitely made tighter and makes things more obvious as its a lower waist. However the crops are great to hold you in and are comfy- just might be worth trying a size up as otherwise you might feel like you can ony wear them on an empty stomach (at least that's how I feel)!

And wow that last picture... I bought the crb and the WU in the caspian zingy print, but would never ever ever consider wearing them together. Yikes.

No ziggy for me, no, no. They need to keep this coming so I can take a little break. BTW: Has anybody tried the Foxy Lulu thongs? I like them a lot. I thought I'd share that with you. Seemed to stay better than the commandos. Also the ultimate no show socks are my favorites.

@sourkraut again - for reference I am a size 4-6 in LLL bottoms and I wear a 6 in fast and frees

@Anon 1:10 -- Thanks for the feedback! Glad I'm not the only one who feels a little guilty about that snack I had earlier in the day when I put on those crops. I did try sizing up but found they were too baggy around the knees and leg openings. I think I'll keep them in my usual size and pair them with a looser top like my concord grape No Limits.

Anonymous said...

@sourkraut - I wanted to love the fast and free crops. They are so cute, but I had to return them. I wear a 4 in lulu crops, but these made me feel fat due to the low tight waistband. I am so used to the medium rise on crops like the run: inspires. I do have a friend that wears them with her loose tanks (like the no limit) and they do look really cute on her, so maybe I should have kept them for that.

Anonymous said...

i thought the Run: Track Time Crop had a lot of potential from the pics i saw. It's a complete bust!! Those crops are totally see through, even without doing the bend test. I thought it was a sizing issue but i tried both 4 & 6 (i'm normally a 4 in WU's and most crops), you could totally see the underwear beneath. NOT worth the $98 price tag at all.

i did end up with the angel blue energy bra and currant studio crops.

Anonymous said...

@sourkraut - I hated the fast and free crops when I tried them on, for the reasons you described. I just felt fat and thick through the middle. Low rises don't work on me!

In terms of luxtreme crops that are out currently, I very much recommend the sun sprinters. I have them in the indigo/mirage color and they are just fantastic. The rise is definitely a mid-level rise, so you get some coverage and support through the waistband. They don't quite have the ruffle that the fast and frees do, but they have a small flap of decorative fabric on the side of the mesh panels. They are super cute and comfortable, IMO!

Anonymous said...

Where are you ladies getting your blue angel energy bras? Neither of my local stores have them...

I LOVE the ziggy wee strip - menswear-ish!! LOVE!! Bought the Flare Ziggy Wee CRB and the Black Slub Denim Astros. I already have the black slub Astro WU crops but I love the Astro pants, as well!! I was being so good with no purchases all summer long -- sigh -- now if browns come out I'll be sunk!! Looking forward to the Ziggy Wee - is it like the soft mini-check from last winter?

Jamie Barba said...

@sourkraut, I was unsure the Fast & Free as they're a little lower rise than I like and I later realized I wore a loose top while I tried them on, but I've worn them with a swiftly tank on a couple of 5 mile runs & love them. I'm a 10 & am most certainly not a perfect body!!

Ali said...

OMG at the last photo!!!! What's even worse is that that's an educator from my own local store!!! At least she's smiling, haha.

The Currant In Stride is just gorgeous... Really wish the Scuba had turned out that way.

When I was at the store today they were trying to sell me on the Track Time crops, haha. Sorry, I'm NOT paying $98 for them!!! I didn't feel like they were anything special. I do want a pair of running pants though, all I have in my LLL collection are WUC, Gather and Crow, and now a pair of WU pants...

Anyone try running in their WUs? Is it just not a good idea?

anonymous me said...

I love the every yogi ls. I have 3 from last year and they are indeed super soft. I'm very tempted by the currant.

Currant and white though? With the bleeding history of late, what yoyo thought that would be a good idea? Granted, I'd probably wear the currant side out 100% of the time, but even so, having the white side ruined just with normal washing seems like a given.

Maybe if the bleeding were all equal it would be okay. I wouldn't mind a currant/light pink every yogi. Too bad it doesn't work that way.

I saw the caspian every yogi ls in store yesterday. It was okay, a pretty enough colour that many will like, but it didn't appeal to me. Too much like a faded denim jacket colour for my taste.

Thanks for all the feedback on the Fast & Free crops. You guys are the best! I've decided to keep them and will just be mindful of any potential low-rise-related issues when I take them out for a spin. I think I can get used to the rise.

I'm planning a trip to my store tonight for other returns and exchanges and can't wait to try on some of the new items or at least check out this zany zig-zag pattern in person. I'm intrigued by the Speed Squad tank based on Pink Peony's enthusiasm for it so will definitely give that a try. So sad that I've been looking forward to tonight's shopping expedition all day.

Sourkraut said...

Haha! I'm currently wearing the crops to give them one last test before I hit the store tonight. Just after I typed my last post my husband came over and sat next to me. He managed to yank the tag off of the crops. Guess I'm definitely keeping them now! He made that decision a lot easier for me. He has no room to complain if he ever gets a glimpse of the credit card bill.

Anonymous said...

OT-I was just at Costco today and found an exact dupe of the define jacket. The tag said "KIRKLAND signature" instead of "Tuff"-the brand that LLA had a post about back in 2011. They had bright green (equivalent of portapotty), neon pink (flash, maybe?), and purple (power purple). I got the purple one. The material feels exactly like Luon and the quality seems just fine- good stitching and all. The crazy thing is that the Costco jacket has the same sweet lulu scent if you know what I'm talking about. Now I'm tempted to buy a power purple define and compare the two. Heeehee

SUN RUNNER SHORT SLEEVE....anyone know if I could swim with this? lakes, ocean, pool? I hate getting burned when I'm at the beach! Help! Is it made out of the same material as the rash guards they were selling?! I called the GEC and asked...and the girl I got, didn't answer ANY of my questions. Does anyone here know? this top is in WMTM. thanks!

Anonymous said...

@ Anon 2:08, how are you liking the denim slub astro pants? Any sheerness? Is the material thick? I've been trying to find some feedback on them but no luck. I think they're super cute!

In response to someone who asked where we are getting angel blue energy bras. I got mine at the Southcentre Calgary, Alberta store.

It is so pretty !!!

The Every Yogi LS is definitely going to bleed onto the reverse Heathered Ghost side. Was in my store today where they were talking about return concerns due to bleeding. If educators are worried about the bleeding, then it's more than a valid concern. Pass for me.

In my experience, showrooms often have less and older merchandise than regular stores. However, in my area there was a showroom that shut down after the store was opened. If they're each 5 minutes from you, then they're only 10 minutes apart, so why not go to both?

Anonymous said...

@ anon 3:53, that would be the obvious answer but my boyfriend told me I could only pick one to go to tonight after work because we still have a lot of unpacking and ikea furniture building to do. I'll get to both eventually but I needed to know where to start! Thank you so much for your input :)

Focus said...

For Anon-2:54 I'm not certain about the material comparisons between the rashguard and the sun runner, but I have the run in the sun that is in WMTM and I love it! You could probably wear this in the water, but honestly I would not for a couple reasons. I'd be worried that the fabric wouldn't retain its shape and water might not do well with the mesh insert, but I can't say for certain. It is a great shirt for running in 100+ degrees, I really do stay cool and it doesn't seem to stick to me, others may have better insight.

Where is your Costco???? I want those jackets!!

@ 4:20...There's some green ones on eBay for $22 and free shipping. Only small and medium though.

Minda said...

anon 4:05 tell your boyfriend you are going to both. LOL.
That is what I would do!
- But if I had to choose just one to go to because it was my sole desire to just go to one particular store, I would choose the full store. More to look at.
In my town we have only a show room and it is pretty boring with just a few black and grey pieces and several online returns. snooozzzze!

Not sure WHY anyone likes the Boogie Shorts, other than stick figures? Have yet to see them look flattering on anyone in person. They look like thick, expensive boyshorts-style underpanties. Most people get rolls of some sort at the top of their thigh, CT's and wedgies are everywhere in these shorts! Boogie Shorts could use an extra 2 inches in the inseam to make them serviceable, especially for workouts. Also, too expensive for what they are and the amount of fabric used to make them.

@Anonymous August 1, 2012 4:05 PM

Your boyfriend "told you"? Tell him that you're going to both. After he pops the question, you accept, and he's your husband, then he might have a little more say so. FYI I've been married HAPPILY to the same man for 35 years (thought that required clarification in this day and age) and he never "tells" me what to do. Spouses are partners who communicate, compromise, and support each other. My advice? Find a new boyfriend and go to BOTH the showroom and the store!!

THANKS Focus 4:13! So appreciate the reply.... :) Cheers! I think I will buy it! Now what size to get...6, 8 or 10? I wear 8s and 10s in lulu tops, bec. I'm a 38 DD. Hmmmm....

@Sourkraut
Wow! That sucks! Hopefully you'll end up enjoying them so you won't have to feel bad about it! :) I feel like some of their pants do really need to be paired with looser fitting items. I love the fit of the No Limits Tanks though for that, and I find they're great for the gym/hot yoga. I'm jealous of your Concord one! I'm really hoping to grab one in Power Purple before I move to Europe!

@Anon 3:45
Definitely go to the full store! They should be more up to date, and I'm jealous you have an Ikea!!! We don't have any where I live, nor are they in any neighbouring provinces.

I purchased my first energy bra today in angel blue. You were all right... It's the bomb! Temped to buy the currant one now. I also tried the virtuous tank in currant. Omg... It looked awful on me. I tried my normal size and it was snug with major side arm wobble. I shudder at the memory. Made me happy that the energy bra worked at least!

Anonymous said...

these girls are gorgeous and i just do not think any of these items pictured are flattering (with exception of the red studio crops, love!). scares me to think if they do not look good here, yikes on me!

something seems very strange with the fit of the gather crops?? im just not a fan of the ziggy print, but yay for those who love it. and burgundy is not for me. glad there are items for all of us to love, these are not for me!

ot but i received my delivery from athleta today, yay! hubby and i spent a hot hot holiday in july and we would run in the mornings and dive into the ocean for a swim after. i found it a pain to change and found some running/bathing suit tops that i wanted to try out. the weather where i live is cool and dry with no ocean so its more functional for holidays gear.

i love the fit of the suits and will do a function/performance test this weekend under a tank to see if i love them for running as much as just trying on.

i did receive my flow y and swiftly tank in caspian as well today, love the blue. i was not sure if i would love the colour but its very pretty. will try that this weekend as well but i do love swiftlys.

also with this order a white free to be bra. i know it wont be a performance bra for me, knew it was low support when i ordered it. thought it would be cute under tanks...love the back and i did size up. glad i did, its fairly low coverage (which is stated on the product description). i am a c cup for reference.

oh man, i can't stand the ziggy. 80's conversion van upholstery. the more i see it the more i hate it. i was sadly looking at my closet, thinking how much better lulu was just 9 months ago. the last style i was head over heels in love with was the run tame me tank and that was a while ago:(

Anon @ 6:28 pm - I have the Costco Kirkland Define knock-off (love it btw) and the sizing for me was as follows:

XS (Costco) = 4 (lulu)
S = 6
M = 8
L = 10

I originally purchased a S thinking it would fit (I wear a 4 in the Define), but it was too big. When I tried the XS, it fit me perfectly.

I have it in the pretty turquoise green and black. Looking back, I would have also purchased the pink because it's very close to what is now Pow Pink. It's held up extremely well and seems to be almost resistant to pilling. I wash it on cold gentle cycle with the rest of my lulu gear and hang dry.

Hope this helps.

Anon 4:05, don't let all the people commenting bother you (also marriage should not cause you to act any differently towards each other or give each other more consideration because you're married or living together, its a piece of paper, in Canada common law spouses are protected by law and have nearly identical rights as married couples). You are the only one who knows if your boyfriend is being controlling or simply saying we have so much to do! We need to get some furniture fixed so let's only go to one or the other tonight. Nothing offensive in that to me as long as he's not being mean to me which I don't think you meant by your comment.

Can anyone give any sizing advice on the energy bra? I wear a 4 in Flow Y but have to size up in the Arise to a 6... not sure which to order if it appears online? Thanx :)

Anonymous said...

@ Anon 6:28 PM- I am a size 6 in all of my lulus and my Kirkland jacket is XS($24.99). I live in NV. The jacket is a little bit stretchier than my concord grape define, but not as much as the pow pink one. It fits like a glove IMO! I honestly can't tell the difference except for the Costco jacket is missing the mesh venting in the back (it still has the opening though- minus the mesh)and of course the lulu logo- which is perfectly fine by me b/c my hair covers it anyway. I'll see how it holds up :)

Ingenue said...

Just to add to the recent comments that the color is "CurrAnt" not "CurrEnt" - I just got a PN from Fashion Island and every single spelling (6 or 7) is "Current" for the color. Even Lulu is getting it wrong. Just thought I'd add some levity to the convo :)

Ingenue said...

For sizing on the Energy bra: I am normally a 6. I can wear a 4 in the No Limits Tank (Flow Y type bra portion) and a 6 in Arise. I take a 6 in the Energy bra - just to avoid any squeezing/backfat issues, but the cups are just right/ample.

Anonymous said...

*sorry I meant small-not xs.

@ 7:17 PM, pedant, we know the spelling for the LLL color is Currant not Current. Call or email the the GEC. BTW this is an informal blog with, if you haven't noticed, people writing using phones and iPads etc. that auto correct. No offense taken if people get it wrong here.

I was set to buy the Ziggy Caspian WU's today in store, but I have to say that I was underwhelmed and will think about. Tried them on in my usual 4 and they fit just fine, a bit loose actually. I would rock them. The material is thicker (not sheer at all) but unfortunately too poly. I was not expecting this. As I considered them I imagined I would tire of them too soon. It's the same as those Mirage prints: was really into them when I saw them images, not so much in person and I didn't buy a single item in mirage. I'll think on the ZC WU but I think I may be over them. Maybe if they make it to wmtm.

Was also looking forward to the Currant CRB or Virtuous Tank…the color was not as anticipated, not the red I would want. I think the Blazer Fossil CRB is pretty but again, too poly and therefore pass. I did buy the Blazer Fossil Lucky Luon headband with a good pattern lay…could be a mistake since it too is too poly…but it's only $12 pre-tax. Hand washed it and will give it a whirl in hot yoga tomorrow.

On the Run Track Time Crop: the inside seams are nice and smooth. They put some extra effort into making these so I can see why they want $98. I'm set for crops though so these are an easy wait (until wmtm) for me, if at all. I'll await the real user reviews to see how friendly those bonded/naked seams are. What I really would like is a new winter weight and full length running tight (to replace my Sugoi's, sadly) so will wait to see if LLL will come through with something great.

Anonymous said...

I am a 4 in Flow Y and 6 in Energy.

I was looking through all my Lulu this morning and thought the same thing--Lulu was better a mere 7-9 months ago. My CRB's felt like soft cotton and not slick, thin see though fabric. Even the black slub denim was softer back then. My luon jackets are thick, my Scubas are thick and substantial. I have WU pants and crops in Plum, Deep Camo and Pigment Blue--no see through issues back then. I knew there was a reason I went overboard back then--so glad I can fall back on those pieces now.

Anonymous said...

Do the Canadian Costco's also carry the knock off Defines?! Worth checking it out if they do! :)

@Minda: You are a girl after my heart. I would totally go to both of those stores! Definitely be my sole desire, period.
@anon 4:05 By now you would have made your choice of going to one or both stores. Did you buy something? I hope your trip was eventful in pleasant way. You are sweet to be so considerate of your boyfriend. I am not so much like that. I learn something here everyday.
OT: There are more people at my gym wanting to try Lulu stuff and I'm slightly hesitant to encourage them because of the bleeding issues. I would hate for them to have a traumatic initial experience with all the currAnt items right now.
I love my Angel Blue Energy Bra. I should buy another one. Has anybody done this? I have the currant. My store also had the black one. Should I get that one instead? That Angel blue bra looked good with my black Speed Squad tank today. I love turquoise(ish) anything.
@Sourkraut: I want to hear all about your trip to the store. I know I was overzealous about my Speed Squads. I hope you had a good time returning and buying (ahem).

i got my upload order today, i ordered the ziggy caspian wunder unders and i LOVE them, super soft, and stretchy, i am gonna rock them with my new frye boots!! i also got the XL CRBS in both ziggy caspian and ziggy flare, i am sending the flare back, don't love the color combo for me, but i am keeping the other as it is a nice pop of pattern for layering, and i bought it with the intention to wear it to work as a layering piece, it is a bit thick for working out IMHO...i also got the iconic wrap in the pima cotton wee stripe, SUPER soft, but the arms are a bit tight on this one, might be a size up, i did not and am going to keep it, and hopefully it won't cut the circulation off to my arms this winter ;) like it a lot better than the black iconic wrap, better material...really liking the currant CRB and every yogi ls but i am so sick of washing 1 item at a time to avoid bleeding (paris pink bras aaarrrrgggghhh!!) i only wear them with black CRB and daily tank now...boo lulu...but i still buy their clothes because i love them and love that i can work out in clothes and wear them to work!!

Just got my order from this weekend--my first ever Scuba! I got the dense purple color and I am in love! It is so soft and a beautiful color and fits great. It does have a lighter color contrast inside--odd that they don't show that on the website pictures. For me it is TTS size 10. I also wear 10 in CRBs and swiftly SS and LS. I ordered on Saturday night and got a shipping notice on Sunday (LLL works on the weekend?) and it arrived in So Cal late this afternoon.

You're probably a 4 in the DSC's and DSP's for a snug fit or a 6 for a loose fit... Depends how you like em.

Anonymous said...

@anon 12:17pm, the every yogi LS is definitely long! I'm 5'0" and a little on the short wasted side and that shirt could double as a dress for me because it came almost to mid-thigh on me for the size 4. I think it is longer than the one I purchased back in like December 2011.

LOL to the comment on old women giving uncalled for "advice" in here. But I'm with you, if I want grandmotherly opinions on my relationships, I have my own grandma!! I wonder if the husband in the 35 year marriage has always been as happy and never strayed... Me and my girlfriends (yes, all under 20) get hit by much older married guys like these and just laugh when their wives boast they've been happily married since forever!

Sourkraut said...

@Anon 10:22 -- So glad you love your dense purple Scuba! I got mine a few days ago and feel the same way. I was worried after reading some of the reviews here but think it's a gem. I don't mind the lighter color inside but agree that they should have shown that. I wonder if they ever get in trouble with a customer who wants to return something because it was misrepresented or not fully shown on the website. I remember being annoyed with the faded dot Sun Sprinters I first got because they hadn't bothered to picture or even explain how the dot pattern would differ from pair to pair and not look like the one on the model. Of course, even after I suggested that on Facebook and they replied with the usual "I'll tell our web team" I noticed nothing ever changed on the site.

For Pink Peony here's my store report:
The Speed Squad was a bust on me. It wasn't as unflattering as some pics make it look. I'm just not brave enough to show off my waist at the back like that. I'm on the taller side so it came up pretty high. The purple color was really nice, though. Would be a great running top if you've got the figure.

Of course, I say that and then went and bought a Hot But Not tank, which shows an awful lot. Conveniently, it only shows the areas of me that are most firm. I'd tried it on before and loved it but was hoping they'd come out with some better colors. Alas, I saw a comment on Facebook from a Lulu rep that made me think this style's being phased out for the season and probably won't return until next year, if ever. I figured I'm running out of chances to get one so I went with basic black. The dots on the bandeau are very subtle and small so I can live with that. Extremely flattering tank!

I also walked away with an indigo Bang Buster. I have in lilac and find it stays in place nicely even though it's a bit wide for my head. I have to scrunch it up a lot. Anyway, when I got home I was on Lulu's site and saw there's also a power purple one. Now I'm not sure which color I'd prefer. Decisions, decisions. I'd be tempted to get both but they seem to be so similar that that would be too indulgent. Of course, if I order power purple online it can't be returned whereas the indigo one I bought in the store can be. Silly policy.

My store has the Energy bra in the pretty angel blue. It's a gorgeous color but I just don't need that much coverage/support. I'm really picky about bras and so far the only one I've found from Lulu that's supportive enough but not constricting is the Bound bra. That hasn't come out in new colors for a while so I'm nervous that it's on the way out.

Dropped off my Wanderful flares to be hemmed and everyone was oohing and aahing over them since my store never got them. My returns all went well but when she got to the Caspian Scoop Me Up she said, "WHY are you returning this?! It's beautiful!" Not in a mean way but she seemed surprised. When I pointed out the botched stitching I said, "I know it's not a big deal but..." and she said, "No, it is a big deal. That's very serious" in a sincere, non-condescending way. It was good to hear that she seemed to be aware of quality issues and hopefully won't be putting that tank back out on the shelf for some other sucker. Sadly, my store doesn't have those in stock yet so I'll keep checking the website and keep my fingers crossed that they do come in next week so I can replace it.

Why some people here get aggravated when someone makes a grammatical correction?! Oh my gosh why would you take it so personal? Stop using the same ridiculous excuse: informal blog (hence lets write the worse English possible?), typing from iPad/iPhone or any other mobile device is NOT AN EXCUSE FOR POOR GRAMMAR. Stop being so sensitive. Yes, currant is not the same as current. Just like separate is not seperate (this is not even a word in English!!). Yes, it is this type of continuos mistakes what's annoying, not the sort the autocorrection makes. And get offended if you want. Your problem, as it is your grammar.

Oh shoot, I completely forgot something else I bought. Am I so jaded by my expensive Lulu purchases that they all blur into one? When I started shopping at Lulu I said to myself, "Only buy the unique designs. Nothing that looks like a plain-old tank you could get somewhere else." Of course, I also told myself I wouldn't be buying any $100 pants, no siree, yet here I am with my first pair off being hemmed. While clearing out my closet I noticed that 2/3 of my tanks are insanely short. To the point where I've pretty much stopped wearing them because I'm constantly pulling them down. I don't even wear them around the house for that reason. But then I tried on the metallic silver Power Y and fell for it. Yes, it's super duper long, but I have a long torso so I like that feature. The fabric is wonderfully soft and I did a little test workout with it when I got home and it seemed to stay in place. I'm happy with this purchase.

Anonymous said...

Sourkraut, I believe all headwear is final sale whether or not they were purchased in store or online. At least, that is what I have been told by the educators in my local store.

Thanks for letting me know! I have so many WUC for yoga but I'd like to start running so I was wondering how they'd hold up. :) I'm planning on eventually getting some running tights but when I went to my local store I really felt like there wasn't anything there.

@Anon 8:49
Thanks! I know I used to wear one of their crops from like 3 years ago (NO idea what it was) and I found I had to keep pulling them up whenever I did any kind of activity haha.

@Sourkraut
The silver power Y is gorgeous!!! I always like longer length on the shirts. I have a short torso and long legs but I like having the option of keeping my bum covered.

Maybe Lulu is making the tanks longer to cover our bums so when we bend over we (or others in the room) won't realize their pants are sheer? ;)

I can't believe some of the catty comments I've read on this blog....over the last few weeks. Nasty comments attacking other people on here or telling certain people off, should be deleted and the people removed from this blog. I don't come on here to read how you can't stand anon....4:15 or 12:01. I'm sure I speak for a lot of people on here. It's not a place to come and pick each other apart or exercise your anger and hostility. go to a gym for that.

Sourkraut said...

@Anon 4:20 -- Hmm, I never actually asked at the store but didn't see anything on the tag or receipt saying final sale for my headbands. I was just going by that. Oh well, even if I'm "stuck" with it I don't regret the purchase. Still wondering if I should add the power purple Bang Buster to my collection, though. Anyone seen this one in person? Is it as similar to indigo as the one picture here made it seem?

I also wanted to thank LLA for her recommendation of the Zobha boy shorts. I snagged a pair on sale and think I've finally found my perfect pair of workout underwear. Of course, now that I've been spoiled by the sale price I can't talk myself into paying the full price for more colors. I'll just have to keep an eye out for more sales.

OT: I pre-washed my new currant energy bra last night in a delicate cold cycle. I threw in a new sparkling white washcloth (I sacrificed for an experiment) to guage the bleed factor. It came out sparkling white -- no bleeding in the wash.

Sourkraut said...

@Anon 5:54 -- It was the weirdest thing. I found them on Amazon, sold through Altrec but they had free shipping and a reduced price of $13.77 for the turquoise color only. I went back after I received my order to see if any other colors were marked down and they were all full price, including turquoise, and have a $6.95 shipping charge. From one review there it seems that the price sometimes fluctuates so try keeping an eye out there.

Sourkraut said...

D'oh, I completely forgot something else from my trip to the store last night. I tried on the Be Me tee and it was a mess on me! I wanted to like it because of the sweater-like material used for most of it but the fit was just weird. Way too big and baggy in addition to being an awkward length. Maybe if I were shorter it could look more like a tunic/short dress to pair with leggings but on me it just looked like strange blob of fabric ballooning around me. I'm between a 6 and 8 in Lulu tops so went with the 6 but still found it to be baggy in an unflattering way.

Absolutely NO bleeding from my Currant Energy Bra either and it's already been washed, worn and sweat in 3 times!!

Great idea about using a white wash cloth :) I've found that the washing method outlined in LLA's blog a while ago does the trick. Shout color catchers are amazing, too, and they absorb excess dyes without re-depositing the dye in weird patterns on the washed items.

Has anyone else had their online order for the Ziggy Wunder Unders cancelled? I woke up in the wee hours of Tuesday morning to order mine and I just received this email:

“Thank you for placing an order with us online! The warehouse has let us know that the Wunder Under Pant ZGWG 10 is out of stock so we aren't able to add them to your order.”

Seriously, this is ridiculous.

If you don't want advice, then don't come on a LLL blog to ASK for ADVICE about your "BIG" decision over which 1 of 2 LLL stores near your home is shopworthy or how your boyfriend is trying to control you. If he's so wonderful, then listen to his commands and do what he demands, but then don't complain about him on this forum. Your controlling boyfriend became our business when you CHOSE to post about him. No one comes here to be subjected to snarky posts by anonymous teeny boppers or those with that level of maturity. Regarding the cancelled Ziggy WUs, it just occurred to me that it seems very similar to the situation with the Clam Digger Crops. The WUs were taken down from the site the day of the upload, if I'm not mistaken, just like the Clam Diggers. And, weren’t the orders for the Clam Diggers cancelled days later? It makes me wonder if there is a quality issue with the Ziggy WUs?

Anonymous said...

@ Sourkraut
I had the same issue with all my old workout tops: too short. I bought 1 CRB at my Pure Barre studio about a year and half ago, and so began the Lulu love fest! Finally this Spring, I purchased enough lulu tanks to throw out all my old ones. Hooray! Then I started buying running crops. Then I started buying running skirts and shorts. Then I started buying jackets and cover-ups... Then my husband started saying, "stop the insanity!" :) Ha. He gets it though. Fun workout clothes are both motivation and reward for all my running and Lift, Tone, Burning!!! We deserve it!

So, you think that someone who has been married for 35 years is so old? Let's say you get married at 22, then 35 years of marriage would make you 57. You think that's so old? How long do you expect to live? Grow up and have some respect! You should be ashamed of yourself!

At the neighborhood lululemon store near me, a large percentage of the customers are women in their 40's and 50's. Some of whom come to shop with friends, while others bring their daughters. Why? Because that demographic of woman can afford to buy lululemon on a regular basis. This is a lululemon related blog, so I ask the bratty posters, HOW do you afford lululemon? Your parents credit card? A trust fund? An old sugar daddy perhaps? Are you simply jealous of women in their 40's or 50's or even 30's who can afford lululemon while you cannot? Do you own any lululemon that you purchased with your own hard earned money? If you've got lululemon product comments and can contribute to this blog then welcome, but if you're here to troll, go away. Stop wasting everyone's time.

When I use to...be on The Lulu FB wall, I noticed it was ALWAYS the same women telling other women off, freeking out, swearing, putting other people down for their thoughts, ect. I'm sure...I could still remember the names of the same 5-7 ladies, always losing their minds on FB. That's why....I don't belong to any FB forums, selling places on FB, I unliked the Lululemon page and why I deleted pretty near 60 women off of my FB. This is pretty much the only place now.....I go to, to read about Lululemon and various trendy places to shop. Now it "would seem" the same nasty, cat fighting women that would make comments on the Lululemon wall.....are now trolling this blog..... I come here to be inspired and excited about shopping, but sadly....the "same people," who were always losing their minds on FB....are now most likely...trolling this page! I come here and read some pretty nasty, hateful comments and it reminds me every day....why I want to stay away from a lot of women friendships! Some of you here are wonderful and it's not you I'm speaking of..... It gets tiresome, hearing the "same people" freeking out, over the same, simple issues. This is exactly why, I turn away....from getting to know other women. :( Life is so short...why are you wasting your time, spewing out your anger at everyone? enough is enough....it's hard on the head.

Anyone sweated in/worn/washed the Angel Blue Energy Bra yet? Any bleeding issues? Thanks.

Anonymous said...

Question: Is the energy bra good for someone who's a 38c/d and no longer in her "Perky" years? I wear my Tata tamers every single day and LOVE them. I have a couple of older Flow Y's and like them too but the new ones are just too small in the front now.

Anonymous said...

(Anon 9:08 here)

I did want to mention that I've seen in my local Winners the brand Kyodan and have bought a couple of peices. Most recently black "studio" crops for $30!! The fabric is not identical, but they're really nice and I'm wearing them to work (office job). They seem to be mostly a Lulu knock off with a lot of the same styles (pace setter skirt, ebb & flow, etc.) and the fabric is nice, maybe not 100% as nice as Lulu fabric, but the quality seems to be great - certainly as good as late Lulu. And they're made in Canada it seems. So, a good alternative/addition for those looking for Lulu type pieces at a lower price, without sacrificing any quality.

Anonymous said...

Angel blue looks like such a pretty color. I really hope the energy bra shows up online next week and that they put out several items in that color. I live near a showroom, but their selection is small and likely won't get it any time soon. I wish I would have bought the currant energy bra, too. It sold out so fast! Wish lulu would keep basics like sports bras available in these colors--they would sell so many!

@Anon 9:03 I've sweated in/washed my Angel Energy bra twice and NO issues to report :-). I also don't think the new Every Yogi LS in Currant will bleed as most of the issues have been with luon/luxtreme and the LS is cotton/vitasea which tends to hold color better (let's hope!).

Hi I'm the anon with the "controlling" boyfriend. A few things.... 1. I'm 23, pay for everything myself and make 6 figures as an engineer. 2. Me saying "no we're going to both" is no more controlling than him saying one now one this weekend. 3. Yeah being married should not change how you treat eachother. 4. I was on a pro cycling team all through college and have ran 3 marathons since graduation... Sooooo 20 something's CAN be in shape AND afford lulu AND be happy just the same as every age demographic. My question was about stores, I didn't ask for relationship advice. Don't stereotype me, please.

All the supportive ones out there, thank youuuuu. Love all of you.

Was at a few of my local lll stores yesterday to see the EYLS and it's sooo pretty in both colors. The red and the heathered Caspian are beautiful. However, even though they are heavenly soft, I'm short and they are crazy long, so I passed. The educators were also discussing the likelihood of bleeding with the Currant color. :(
I had no intention of trying on the Catch Me Tank but did in the Power Purple and fell in love with it. I'm 5ft3 160lbs and a 34g. I did try the tank with my own bra under, as without it, the tank was not so flattering, but I managed to get the girls in with one.

Anon 8:41, I too have usually gravitated towards male friendships because of how catty some women can be but I have found as I’ve gotten older that when you find the “right” women to be friends with it is a much different, lovely dynamic that you can’t get from a friendship with a guy. Of course, a lot of these women I’m now friends who are in their 30s and 40s so it may be something that people grow out of. Not everyone does. I work with several ladies in their 40s and 50s who like to go around the office gossiping, watching what people do and tattling.

To Anon 8:20, I’m 24 years old, only make about $2,000 above average (yearly) than the average person living in my city (according to statistics) but I have been able to afford lulu since I was a teenager. I worked full time while in high school and had no bills. I put myself through college without ever taking out a student loan from my savings but also had extra to buy myself nice clothes. I bought a condo at 22, am planning for a house before I’m 27 and while saving for the down payment STILL have money for lulu. It’s all about priorities. I find that a lot of people who order in dinner several times a week and go out drinking most weekends tend to have less money than people who don’t drink (or drink at home) and make most of their own food. I usually wonder more about people who can’t afford nice things at least once a month or so and wonder what they’re spending their money on? There are lots of people who make 10s of thousands of dollars more than me who say they can barely afford their bills but I’ve never really had a problem even when my husband was put on a reduced work program for several months due to company problems.

Kirstie said...

So, this comment section pretty much demonstrates that women can be catty toward one another regardless of age. Sigh.

And who are we to judge the relationships or marriages of anyone (younger or older, married or dating, etc.), especially of someone we don't even know that is simply commenting on an athletic clothing blog! C'mon ladies, we are sooo much better than this.

I saw a few energy bras on EBay for $80!!!! I get a kick out of the listings saying, "very hard to find...." Very hard to FIND....because people on EBay are buying them up by the truckloads, in every size....and selling them at double the price! LMAO.... there u go! yes, very hard to find, because someone is buying them all up, before reg. customers get the chance to pick one up.(shaking head)

@Anon 10:39 AM -- You sound like just the sort of gal I'd want to be friends with. Sounds like you really have your act together, which is admirable at such a young age. I only drink a few times a year but am always horrified by the cost of alcohol and wonder how folks can afford to drink so much of it. Even just going to the liquor store to buy a small bottle booze for a crazy cupcake recipe I want to try out is a scary experience for me since the price tags are all so high!

OT - I keep checking the WMTM page throughout the day since they seem to upload on Thursdays or Fridays. It just occurred to me that there have been 35 items on there for at least a few days now. Is that normal? That seems like a lot of items for Lulu to have on clearance. Surely not a good sign.

AMEN....10:44! Agreed! @10:39....the older I get and I'm in my middle 30s, the more catty women I see around me, esp. On this blog! I too have a few male friends...and a couple of gay lady friends...who are wonderful. Some women are so petty...... Peope live in poverty, get shot at a movie theatre, lose their jobs and homes.....but hey, lets argue about grammar and make ourselves look silly! yes, yes....that's more important. (shaking head) Lets tell a bunch of strangers, on a blog....we make 6 figures! btw....who cares! How are those energy bras doing anyways? :) LOL

Kristina said...

Sourkraut - 10:39 anon here - thank you for saying that. I think I was probably more like those other women than I'd like to think when I was younger but I had the (un?)lucky issue of my parents divorcing and my mom having my dad arrested a week or so after I moved out (I have to wonder was it planned?). It forced me to completely stand on my own two feet since they were very much involved in their own issues for several years after that and couldn’t really be there for me financially or emotionally. I think it definitely matured me fast and made me realize how much our actions affect others. Crappy way to learn but I’m happy and that’s what counts :) Now I look at those gossipy ladies in my office and shake my head. I don't get involved so in some ways it amuses me how much they work themselves up over nothing.

I think a lot of people take the comments on here too seriously. I read them on my phone while watching tv with my husband and most of the time they entertain me.

To the gal with the "controlling" boyfriend, you rock. :) My boyfriend told me this morning that I need to "break the cycle" when it comes to Lulu, as I wanted to drive over an hour to my closest store in Minneapolis (after working a 12-hour night shift) just to buy the every yogi LS in currant. Not because he's controlling, but because honestly, how much trouble am I really willing to go through for one shirt? So yes, it was silly on my part, common sense on his. After a well needed nap and some perspective, I awaken to him doing curls with my 3 pound weights...in his underpants. Now who's the silly one? Back off ladies, he's totally taken. ;)

I've felt for a long time that there are too many women on this blog who have nothing better to do than sit around on their computers and dissect each other's comments to the point of taking them completely out of context. It's for that reason that I'll periodically take breaks from this blog, or at least the comments section. This blog IS supposed to be about the clothing, the working out, and motivating each other to exercise and look cute at the same time.

As for the clothing...I have 3 Every Yogi LS shirts from previous runs, and I adore them. They are super soft, flattering, and I can't wait to add to my collection. I did have an issue with pilling on one of them after the first wear (I had on a cross-body bag and there are pilling spots where the strap rested), left a poor review on the website, and have since been reached out to by someone from the GEC asking for pictures, more information, etc. I really appreciate that they've contacted me. Not sure what ultimately will come of it, but it's nice to know that they're taking the time to listen to my concerns. Even the risk of pilling though will not deter me from the currant Every Yogi LS...I'll just use a different bag. :)

Melissa said...

Curious--I ordered the LS every yogi T in indigo stripe and fossil or whatever (it comes Tues) but was wondering -- is the logo on both sides? It shouldn't matter, but I'm curious.

Its why we’re addicts! I only live about a 30 minute walk or 10 minute drive from a store but I’d probably drive an hour if I knew an item I wanted was there but not online…we all have our vices!!

Sourkraut said...

I don't know, Stefanie. A real keeper would have driven to Lulu for you while you napped and bought the shirt you were lusting after. All in his underwear, of course. :) Thanks for the laugh. That mental image is priceless. Hope you get your shirt eventually without having to make the long trek.

Kristina, without going into too much detail about my life I know exactly where you're coming from. I'm glad you were able to come out of that difficult time with some good lessons learned. As much as it sucked when I was younger I too think those hard times made me into a better person now. Is it weird that my closest friends all have similarly screwy backgrounds? I think that sort of thing forces people to mature quickly, which might explain why I've had the same best friends since I was 13. I think in some ways we've been acting like dignified old ladies since we were teenagers!

Here’s part one of my review of my Southern California Odyessy. I’m gonna apologize in advance, I have a lot to say, so this will be slightly War & Peace-esque! For reference, I’m a 10 in pretty much everything, but always a 12 in Defines and a 38D.

I got to go to 2 Lulu stores, South Coast Plaza and La Jolla, and between the 2, it seemed like I tried on everything in the line-up (at that time)! The La Jolla store was one of the best LLL experiences I’ve had. To a person, they were super nice and crazy helpful. The South Coast store…meh. It was fine, but frankly the 42 Eds seemed more interested in talking to each other than helping me, their only customer at the time (all except the 2 gals who checked me out, they were awesome). I took some fitting room pics, but I’m not sure how/if I can add them here.

@yogibabe, oh, the Dress of Many Covers…well, I kinda liked it, but it just wasn’t right for me. I agree, too big/long in some ways, then in other ways (looking at the skirt from the back), it was just too tight. I was fiddling with it constantly, and when I made it a little shorter, it was just waaaaaay to drapey in front. I could never quite get it right. And honestly, from the back it just wasn’t flattering on me. I only tried it as the halter, as I knew I just couldn’t buy it, so no point in trying it the other ways.

LLL’s non-compressive shorts just don’t seem to like me.
-Roll Down Shorts: almost worked for me, but I needed them to be a little bigger, like a size 11, but alas 10 is the biggest size in these
-Light As Air Shorts: oh dear Lord, these were horrid on me. Not just bad, horrid. The legs seemed big whereas the waistband was super tight. Yuck, yuck, yuck.
-Sun Sprinter Shorts: When I tried these in a 10, they looked good, but I couldn’t run in them (rode up). In a 12, I liked them, and could run in them, but they rode just a little low. I could use the drawstring, but let them stay there for now. I tried both the Ray & the Black, and the Ray looked strange to me with the black panels, it seemed like a little too much black for me. I did like the mesh, thought it would be great for ventilation.
-Dart & Dash shorts: I already had 2 pair of sz 10, so I knew I’d like them, with all the sizing changes I went ahead & tried the Indigo/Mirage. I loved them & bought them! Perfect length & tightness & love all the pockets, esp. on the sides.
-Reversible Groove shorts: oh my yumminess!! Why didn’t anyone tell me how amazing and flattering these shorts are? Holy fabulous, Batman! I got 2 pair of them in 10, the Black/Heathered Black/QS19 and the Fossil/Blush Quartz/Heathered Blush Quartz. I know the Fossil will show my mass quantities of sweat, but I decided I just didn’t care!

Part 2

I tried a few pants/crops, but didn’t buy any. I wanted to check out the new waistband situation in the Inspires, but I forgot at South Coast & they didn’t have a single 10 at La Jolla. I didn't try the Trikonasana Pants as they only had them in the denim, and they seemed too heavy for this gal who suffers from over-heatation!
-Om Pants: more fabulousness – so comfy & I loved the fabric. Hubby didn’t like the ties @ the bottom, but I reminded him he's clueless. Didn’t buy, as they only had Bruised Berry, and I’m just not into that color.
-Sun Sprinter Crops: 2nd time I’ve tried them & loved them both times, but still haven't bought. Not sure why. Like the fit, like the fabric. The first time the black seemed a little heavy, but I tried the Indigo/Mirage & they were great.
-Free Fall Crops: fell in love! They’d be to & fro for me. They only had white in a 10 & it felt like they showed the bumps & dimples more than other colors would. Will look for them in other colors(full price in store, while the white were already on WMTM)
-Ebb & Flow Crops: be still my heart! YUUMMMYYY!! So comfy, so flattering. Fabulous. I didn’t buy b/c they only gray & while I don’t worry about showing sweat in high impact activities, I don’t care for it when I teach PiYo & I wasn’t sure if they would work for running/Turbo Kick, etc. Now that I’ve read some reviews here, I WILL be buying them! Hoping to find indigo.
-Diversity Wunder Under Crops: not for me…..at all! I tried them in some light color, and they simply weren’t flattering – showed the bumps & lumps and accentuated the negatives. The material wasn’t for me & I knew I’d trash it the first time I wore them.

Part 3 (told ya it was long)

Without meaning to, I focused on bottoms, but I did try a few tops. I meant to try on the Sun Runner S/S, but forgot & of course it’s on WMTM now & I won’t be able to return it if I don’t like it. Also, I saw the Run: Split Singlet and I just couldn’t bring myself to try it. It just looked so boxy and weird. on the hanger.
-Swiftly Tank: I’m obsessed & and am getting every color I can get my hands on (this time was Caspian). Yep, I’m that person, I’ll buy several of the same thing! They are super flattering, comfy, and great for my crazy sweaty self. They do show the sweat for me, but as I’ve mentioned before, I’ve just had to get over that; everything does.
-Catch Me Tank: I liked it and may buy it, but left it there for now. I tried the Caspian, and loved the feel of the fabric, but it was a little on the clingy side, and a little longer than I liked. Pretty sure it would show every drop of sweat. That said, I think it’d be great for running. I didn’t pay close attention to the straps, but they seemed sturdy & not as though they’d come apart while running
-No Limits Tank: tried it on in PP twice, and chose not to buy it…twice. I also tried the Caspian in an 8, and could have pulled it off, but prefered the 10. I really wanted to buy this, but couldn’t figure out what I’d wear it for besides PiYo, and that’s just not enough use for me to justify it.
-Scoop Me Up Tank: I tried it in Vegas too, and liked it a lot both times, but I’d need to wear a bra under it and am not sure how it would look, so I still haven’t purchased one.
-Hot But Not Tank: I was totally surprised by this one. Didn’t think I’d like it, but I did. Again, it wasn’t quite supportive enough without a bra under & it’d need to cost a little less, even though it was on MD
-CRB Zipper: pretty sure this was the CRB & not the Velo Vixen. Either way, it wasn’t for me. Really tight around the bust and the arm-holes cut in really far on my chest
-Venus Tank: just a weird fit. I could have tried the 12, but I was tired of the store & wanted to get back to my fitness convention, so I didn’t. The material leaned towards the Marathon Singlet IMO. The bust was quite tight and the bottom portion was slimmer fitting than I expected. I had to do the wiggle dance to get out of it!
-Team Spirit Tech S/S: it was OK. Kinda boxy, not super flattering, but not horribly bad. I thought about buying it for my impending long runs, but decided I didn’t like it enough.
-Perfect Layer Tee: oh how I loved this comfy, yummy tee. I wanted it in every color, but just couldn’t pull the trigger on a $58 tee I’d end up just hanging out in.

Jamie Barba said...

almost done, I promise....

I’ve been wearing Ta-Ta Tamers & Adjust Me Bras & wanted to see if there was anything else for me, esp with cute back straps. I ended up getting a TTT from MD. It was only down to $44, but that was better than nothing.
-Trinity: um, yeah…..no. Serious uni-boob situation & nowhere nearly enough support for my 38Ds
-Bound: I was worried about the straps being too tight, but they weren’t. Not surprisingly, it wasn’t supportive enough to wear by itself under a top w/o an inner bra, but with an inner bra, it I could pull it off. However, I didn’t buy it.
-Lift & Separate: oh my…….well, it lifts & separates! Before I adjusted the girls, my mom said I looked a porn star. After, it worked, but I couldn’t figure out where/when I’d wear it, so it stayed.

I brought my Pow Pink Define with me so I could try to find one with good stitching. I found one and exchanged it and wore it as much as possible through the rest of the trip so I could gauge whether or not it would pill. So far, pretty good.

Somebody mentioned possible Nordstrom shills the other day. I went to 2 Nordies as well (SC & Horton Plaza in San Diego) and thanks to those folks & Minda, I tried on several pieces of Zella and some Beyond Yoga. Some of Zella bottoms fit great; some just fit weird. I ended up buying a pair of reversible shorts similar to the Groove shorts. I wore them last night for the first time to teach Turbo Kick, and loved them. They were flattering with just the right amount of tightness. I placed a Beyond Yoga order this week, so I’ll talk about all that when they get here.

Sorry for the novel, but wanted to share my thoughts!

Great reviews, Jamie. Thanks for all of the in-depth information. Sounds like you really made the most of your Lulu trips. I find it so strange that I seem to be the only person who had to size down in the Sun Sprinter shorts. I have such big hips that I usually wind up sizing up but hated the way my usual 8 looked on me and only tried on a 6 on a whim. Voila! Suddenly the shorts looked cute on me and weren't at all tight across my hips.

Do you know the legal defnition of "Retirement Age"?? Find out and come back to tell me 57 is NOT old LOL
You might have the fattest wallet to throw thousands of dollars each month in lll, but that doesn't change the fact your are a few years shorts of being a senior citizen.

"People in the United States who are more than sixty years of age are commonly referred to as senior citizens or seniors. These terms refer to people whose stage in life is generally called old age"

Jamie - Thanks for the reviews!

Btw, I wore my Diversity crops to pilates the other day and then yesterday all day and then to yoga. (They have the triangle gusset.) They were very comfy and no CT. Maybe I just got lucky on how they fit me. Remind me of one of my first lulu purchases, WU in organic cotton that I love, though the Diversity crops are a bit thinner which is good for summer.

FedEx guy just came with my WMTM order which include the arm warmers in seaside dot. I'm super-excited about these as I've discovered I like to hike in my LS swiftlys and rarely wear the SS ones anymore, so hoping this gives me options and I get more wear out of all my SS! Oh and they're cute, kind of wacky, which works for me. Hope they stay up well (I have stick arms but GEC said sizing had to do with length not width so hoping larger size works for me).

lip gloss smacker here: yes, 57 is old, that's how old my parents are and i'm an adult/i am married: we our sugar daddies&mommies to one another as child free engineers/i started buying lulu in college when i started interning. i know a lot of people like to think that only mature "older" women can afford lululemon, the truth is there are a lot of people like me in their early twenties running around with disposable income, especially the married ones. and me smacking my lipgloss is sarcasm!! that is exactly my point, people (especially older women) just OVERREACT.

Jamie, I really appreciated your thorough product reviews. Thanks!!

I'm waffling over the Energy bra. The PN from my store that arrived yesterday said they have the Angel Blue in stock. I'm one of those rare Lulu fans who doesn't really care that much about the bras I wear (color or straps) and am perfectly content most of the time to wear a plain old white C9 sports bra from Target. However, I admit that I've been seduced by how cute the Energy bra is. Will I actually wear it, though? The only tops I have that would show off the cute straps are CRBs, and I'm not sure I have colors that would coordinate well. If I could be guaranteed that a Power Purple CRB or an Angel Blue CRB was on the way, I'd just go for it.

Love your novel reviews (pun intended!). Yup, the Dress of Many Covers...what can I say. It is pretty cute actually, but I can't see wearing it enough to warrant the price. Oh...why didn't you try the Amuse Me pants? :)

Love my Ebb & Flow crops. Have all three colors. I hope you will find one in deep indigo. I'm quite obsessed with deep indigo at the moment. Seemed to have most things made in that color. Such a lovely deep blue. :) I have two Sun Sprinter crops, flash/faded dot and mirage/deep indigo. I love it for yoga in these hot summer days. (Never spinted in it, but works well for my yoga practise.) I'm "that kind of a person" too, where I will buy all (or as many as I can) colors available for items that works for me. So, you're not alone in this quirkiness! :)

P/S: Just received my upload orders. Will try on the Virtuous tanks momentarily or later in the evening. I have my little doggie snoozing on my lap.... :)

Really curious to hear your thoughts on Beyond Yoga. I ordered a pair of their gathered crops in electric purple. The color was fantastic, the material super soft, but they were super low cut and have me CT. I hope they work much better for you!!

The cattiness is crazy on this thread!!! Why are we attacking each other.? Would anyone really ever say these things in person? Who cares what your age/income is? If you love Lulu then buy it. No one needs to justify their choices, income, etc...
If you're in your 20's, 30's 40's 50's+ and can rock Lulu and it makes you feel good then go for it. It is ultimately about a healthy outlook and lifestyle. Geeez ladies...shame on al of you just waiting to jump on someone and harass them. Play nice.

Thanks LLA- love your blog and reports :)

I just brought the Every Yogis in both currant and caspian and I must say, I am in LOVE!! Very soft, comfy, and vibrant!! I'm 5'4", 105lbs. The smallest size they have is a 4 so they are just a tad bit long and loose on me, but still lovely none the less. I highly recommend these tops!

Anonymous said...

maybe i am just extremely picky and in the minority, but did anyone think of the material on the inside of the energy bra to be of poor quality? i guess it doesn't matter since you can't see it when you wear it (not nearly as bad as the shoddy seams on the defines lately), but it bothers me..like it looks like it is ready to pill in the wash. i've been so disappointed with lulu quality lately and the cheaper materials/construction don't justify the price tags. on top of the shoddy seams, sheerness, bleeding, CT issues that lulu has had lately, this might seem minor, but i'd rather buy a target bra at this point :(

So you're an engineer with a 6-figure income, but you couldn't decide on your own which of 2 LLL's to shop at last night? Hmm. Try again. Btw how did the shopping trip go? Product information? Thought not.

Kristina said...

Went to my store at lunch today: came home with the dense purple slub gather & Crow (might go back), currant yogi LS and indigo relaxed fit crop. I also ordered the cranberry scarf online on Tuesday but my order only just shipped today which is rare. I usually get my items by Wednesday or Thursday. The gather & crow’s were definitely a size up for me. I’m usually a 4 in everything bottoms wise but I could barely pull the 4 up to my thighs. The 6 fit well. I think the slub pattern might make my butt look a little bigger than it usually is so I will be checking my mirror at home to make sure I really want them before taking the tags off! All the seams on everything seemed good quality. LOVE the currant LS. Saw the currant scuba at my store as well. It is very dull compared to the currant in the other items like the power y and the in stride jacket.

By the way, to everyone commenting about age: when I was a kid I thought 30 was ancient. Now even though I'm not there yet I feel like its young. Age is irrelevant. How you feel is what's important. Retiring doesn't mean you're old, it means you're lucky! Some of us will be working into our 70s...Canada raised its Canada Pension Plan age from 65 to 67. The UK will likely need to take away their retirement benefits to an older age as well given that they start at 60 now but their economy is being bogged down by their vast social programs.

Just a thought!

Thanks to everyone for the LLL reviews and tips. I hope to get into my LLL store this weekend because I'm loving the new color palette and could use some new workout apparel. Has anyone had any problems with the Currant items bleeding?

Also, I am a Chemical Engineer PhD candidate from UT's Cockrell School of Engineering. The US national mean annual salary in my field with a PhD is 86K while the UT average is 95K. Not six figures, even with a PhD in Chemical Engineering. What is your field? Degree? From what university and college of engineering? Please do not demean the profession.

@Anon 11:24 pm (DSC) question. I just bought the currant dec and it is tts for me. The problem I see with sizing down is the butt tens to be tight which also pulls on the crotch area. I am a 4 in all top and bottom except some denim that I have to size up in. I got the 4 and it is again perfect for me. I am 5'2", 118 lbs. I did same when I was 114lbs.
My husband really likes the currant dsc btw.

Nancy Rose Performance review.

Hi addicts! I got my first Nancy Rose Performance order yesterday. Three pairs of crops. 20% discount. They actually look really wonderful on me; my hubby thinks they are the best looking pants I've ever bought (even better than Lulu). He thinks they make my legs look fabulous. That says a lot! And I didn't ask him for that opinion! I also think the crops make my butt look firm and lifted, if that's possible...

87% nylon, 13% lycra. Made in Peru. Oval gusset. No CT. I think the material feels more like a slightly thicker Power Luxtreme than Luon, to me. It is very nice and silky and doesn't seem like it will attract lint like Luon tends to. I got Grasshopper crops and 2 patterns of Plank crops. I have to get used to the compression waistband, but it sure feels like these crops won't move or slide as I workout, which is good news for me.

My one issue is that I feel they were a bit sheer (I also feel that way about Power Luxtreme), but after saying that, I think I may have ordered a size too small (even thought they fit and look great), because I actually fall in-between sizes. So, I called NRP and I got fantastic customer service! First of all, Abbie at NRP recognized my name because I had sent some previous emails asking questions prior to my purchase. Then, once we decided that I should likely try one size larger, she not only waived the 10-day return so I could hold on to the crops I currently have until I make a decision, but she also trusted me to return items that I will not be keeping once I make up my mind, and so did not charge me yet for the new crops she will be sending out to me!!! That is taking care of a customer!!! Now, I am sure this is not standard practice and not to be expected in the future (otherwise NRP may go out of business by folks taking advantage), but, I will be responsible and not rip off NRP, and it certainly makes me feel good about the company and its product.

I believe NRP is a new and growing company that is trying to build its customer base. And in my book is doing a wonderful job of it.

Definitely a lesson for Lululemon.

Minda, would love to hear your thoughts about your NRP crops in terms of sheerness.

Luluaddict, I look forward to hearing what you think when you get your order.

And, I am keeping my fingers crossed that my new crops are going to work out. (My hubby keeps trying to convince me to keep the ones I currently have because he loves how they look). :-)

anon3:24pm. They would love you for showing up early!!! Are you asking because you don't want to be labeled a certifiable addict or what? Lol. I would go just because my store always has some good stuff going on when there is a reason such as "meet you hair feather person day" thing. I am not an early riser though. I bet you they'll have some fun stuff you'll have a great time. Be forewarned: the overzealous gec's might educate you. This kind of annoys me but you know our brains don't develop fully until we are around 25 so there's some room for improvement in our youth on this blog and some of the gec's.

I have 3 college age kids and they crack me up (no disrespect to the engineers here--- I applaud all that hard work well deserving of a 6 figure income). They do because they are the ones to admit how stupid (their words) they were when they were in high school and now they say they were stupid and clueless when they started college and so on and so forth. We see our flaws in hindsight. Let's not lose our cool trying to defend that burning desire to prove ourselves.

I like the young (I am 44). Yes, older is not always wiser.

Money is not everything whether you're old or young... it's only good during that Monday night upload.

i was excited to read all the product/fit reviews when i arrived home...159 comments! then i had to sort through all the fighting back and forth.

i personally am not interested in how old anyone is, how much or how little they can afford to buy, or how much money anyone has. how disheartening to sort through the personal attacks.

and what is with the assessment and judging of others relationships??? based on one sentence??? its ridiculous! grammar critiques, spelling? i don't think anyone makes those errors intentionally, why even point it out?

i like the honest reviews here and certainly don't mind when it strays off topic, many times its funny to read through some of the comments and i believe it reflects the level of rapport many individuals have on this blog. sadly, this level of negativity is far from funny.

happy shopping all and thanks for those who posted such great reviews and fit information! i always enjoy reading all the good/bad/ugly regarding the products, helps me to be a savvy shopper.

upper management engineers earn six figures, i know because i'm married to one (lip smacker btw). usually these people are older, but if you have the skills/experience they need, age doesn't matter. i earn $64K a year out of college. our average household age is 25.5 years. maybe we should go by married "ocean" and "river" LOL sure, we earn less than $200K, the salary of one doctor, but we manage. the problem is the stuff lululemon is putting out is so fugly i can't spend my cash and it's infuriating my underdeveloped brain!!

I find that internet comments are upsetting more often than not in many ways. I'm sorry these blog comments have gone that way recently. But I'm going to choose to believe that it's not about women in general, but the usual reasons, particularly the perceived safety of anonymity.

What I really wanted to say is that I love the Currant Every Yogi so much but I'm having trouble justifying it because I already have one in Dazzling which I rarely wear. I kind of think it's too hot but I also don't really require anything for 'to and from', as that's only about 5 minutes.

Are you ladies wearing your long sleeves for to and from or for casual wear? And please let us know if you love yours so I can talk myself into another :)

@ 6:02 that's why i went into engineering. i draw and do math good. the only rude comment i made was calling the lulu's merchandise fugly. the other bit was explaining the inconceivable matter of people in their early twenties being able to afford lululemon. btw, petroleum engineers make BANK (i've heard at least) and median salary means there are higher salaries than the stated median, so you could be a 26 year old with a pHD earning $100K. or you could earn $80K and bonuses and profit sharing in addtion to base salary. there are multiple ways to earn six figs in engineering. i love the engineering field and know it pays well, so well we paid uncle sam five figures even after maxing out retirement contributions, even though it was my first year working, so i will defend it to the death!!! ok, not really, but i do love it (even though i'm in utilities). anyway, i have to pack up for the commute. can't wait to read more comments after dinner (my catty non-teeny bopper, know-it-all coworkers were pretty quiet today, boo)!!!!

plus the reviews are not available for several products, and i don't mean none posted...the 'post a review' tab is missing. some of the products with reviews are messed up when trying to read through them.

@sourkraut: I'm sorry the Speed Squad tank did not work for you. Yes, I was overly enthused by it. I have a pear shaped body with B cup and slight curve at the hips. Not much butt though. Today I took a friend to the store and bought the blazer and white. My friend bought the red and the white one also and the virtuous tank in the power purple. She has the same body shape as me. I really liked the energy bra so I bought the black and another angel blue. My store had quite a few of them today still. Sorry this did not work for you either since it offers great fit, support and comfort. Watch out for the 50 rep bra (I think I got this right). That is another popular one.

As I'm writing this, I'm soaking my Currant WU (it BLED)even after 4 rinses. I will hang it to dry and not put it with my other Lulu stuff in the wash.
Also my Currant dance studio crop that I wore today for the first time BLED during handwashing . I am also soaking it away. Although it did not bleed profusely like the WU and it stopped bleeding after 3 rinses, I am going to let it soak for a little bit more just to be sure.
The Angel Blue Energy bra did not bleed at all. I even used a different color basin because I want to catch the slightest bit of a color change to report to all of you.
Just be careful wearing it with the currants before washing and soaking. I wore a push your limits tank in Paris pink for the first time to cycling today and no more bleeding on this (washed and soaked in hot H2O before). FLASH is still the worst one in my book.

BTW, I use Woolite to soak and handwash.
I had a thought while doing all this handwashing. Why doesn't Lulu in the midst of this bleeding chaos (I understand they can't just change manufacturers, etc.) ask their manufacturers to wash the products or the fabric at least once to let it bleed out before shipping it to the warehouse? Surely that would help. This might cost extra but will decrease the return rate. Or Lulu can lower the price for us when they sell us the bleeders until they can get this all corrected. If it is too late to change the manufacturing contract then it's not too late to make it up to us, right? I don't mind hand washing a few specially if I knowingly choose to purchase given the risk. I would rather live in a fantasy world where my WU's just appear clean and folded in my closet though.

I apologize for fueling the negativity by making my comment on the "young crowd". I should know by now given my own kids.
One redeeming value is I know my kids will not disrespect any of you here even anonymously.

Thanks Minda!

I appreciate your feedback. You seem to really be enjoying your NRP; that's why I am hoping once I sort out the right size for me, I'll be okay as far as sheerness.

Very interesting about what's being stocked at your PB. I noticed that wrap top too. But, I also feel $72 for a cotton top is a bit much right now. That said, Minda, I think it was posted previously that if you "like" NRP on Facebook you can get a 20% discount... maybe that might help ease the purchase pain? :-)

If NRP starts stocking some technical tops, I am definitely there.

Thanks again!

@ Pink Peony 6:59 PM...I don't think your comments are the problem on this blog and I would take your wisdom in a minute! You are always helpful and I'm certain are a caring and kind person. You're no doubt a great Mom and sounds like you and your husband have raised your kids well.

p.s. boo to the bleeding problems again!

If the temperature drops below 60, you can bet I'll either be wearing a cabin LS or an every yogi LS. I don't reserve them as Both shirts are incredibly soft, cozy, and look fantastic on. :) I agree with someone who posted way way up there that I prefer the fit of the cabin to the yogi...the cabin felt like it had more give, and it also wasn't as long. The yogi is a lot tighter in the arms...I was going back and forth between the 4 and the 6 in the yogi before finally deciding on the 4 due to the tremendous length of the 6...I could have worn the 6 like a dress! The tight arms stretch out after a bit of wearing, so they're no longer an issue...and lets be honest, at $78 a shirt, it gives me motivation to attempt to keep that arm flab in check. :)

I wear mine casually & LOVE all 5 colors I have! I just bought the currant one & it is gorgeous! I say go for it!

If you're interested in the blazer fossil lucky luon headband, it is 94% polyester & 6% lycra spandex. Since it's more slippery in material, I thought it might not stay put and/or stop sweat during vigorous hot yoga today. Pleased to report it stayed put and stopped sweat! I have fine, smooth hair that I pull back so it's even more of a challenge for a headband to stay put.

I still prefer my other solid lucky luon headbands that are more luon: 87% nylon & 13% lycra spandex. Even my inkbot one is 88% poly & 12% lycra spandex.

Anyway, I love the lucky luon headbands!

And I highly recommend the Ebb & Flow crop (indigo's my fave and they look so great with a white CRB and Y bra), they are so comfortable and awesome during hot yoga. I seriously need to buy a back up pair!

LOL! I have like 20 bras from the target "Champion" line with the y adjustable backs and I love the colors and comfort! But I'm very small... 32 B/C, I look flat in them... Happens when you have 2 kids ;) so when I want to look womanly I wear bras from "BodyRock Sport" I wear the "zip em up collection" and they make me look AMAZING! BUT they are pricey but with it!

Anon 6:28 I'm an Aus size 8 but wear a 6 in Lulu Defines... but a 4 in Strides and Scubas. Hope that helps!

Thanks to all the recommendations here (Minda!) I took the plunge and bought some secondhand Inkblot Yin to You Crops. OMG they are so totally awesome! Never thought I could pull off such a crazy print in leggings but *LOVE* :)

coolio, we're getting SeaWheeze flipflops when we cross the finish line, made by Vancouver shoe co. Native shoes. They look great!

I just picked up an indigo bang buster - it's beautiful...looks almost black but has a subtle hint of blue. It's probably one of the only headbands that works for me and my thick hair.

For those who might be looking for double utility, it doubles GREAT as a sleep mask on a long plane ride :P.

The power purple define was so gorgeous, but sadly I am between a 6 and an 8 in the defines and I either look like I'm swimming in a size too large or like a sausage in the 6 :( sad...was really looking forward to it! Anyone else have this problem with defines?

Has anyone tried the astro pant in denim? I skipped a lot of the messages so I may have missed it.

Ugh! How is it possible that I left stuff out of my massive postings? Sure enough did!!

The big thing is a shout out for Minda! Thanks for mentioning that you found your inkblot pants on the sale rack at Pure Barre. Apparently it stuck in my head. As we were driving around La Jolla looking for a parking space, I noticed a PB & then a sale rack out front. I was able to snag a pair of Wunder Under Ruffle Crops in black at 25% off! Yay me! After tax, they were $63. Never would have known to look if it weren’t for you, Minda.

Also, I had a bleeding issue while I was gone. Fortunately, it was only my skin. I’d just finished a Turbo Kick workout with 1,000+ other crazies in a hotel ballroom (read: really hot) and when I went back up to shower before visiting South Coast, my mom started freaking out. She thought I was bleeding. Nope, it was just the Paris Pink waistband of my Inspire crops bleeding really intensely on my skin. Crazy, huh? Fortunately, I was wearing a pink top, so it was only me that became pink!

@Sourkraut, the SS shorts are just a unique cut. I can see why you might need to size down

@Vanessa, I think my dislike of the Diversity WU is probably at least partially part of my extreme pickiness. I probably would have liked them better if I’d tried a darker color. I’m also hard on my clothes, and I felt like I’d have to baby those (other people might not, but I’m more toward the extreme end of the spectrum)

@yogibabe, I’m pretty sure my family would have laughed me right out of the store if I’d tried on those crazy pants! I’m not gonna lie, I thought the looked fun in some of the pics, but not fun on this body!!

@anon 1:58 – I tried on the gathered crops in black and really, really liked them. They were full price & I do everything I can to not pay full price! The problem is, I can’t remember what size I tried!! I’m thinking a Large, but I’m not sure. No issue with CT to speak of, but I didn’t try make it happen to see if it was a problem.

@anon 3:24, definitely not crazy!! More like fun! I love going places right when they open. We went to the Ikea in Frisco, TX on opening day. I wanted to be there when they opened, but people where lining up the night before, so we waited until the afternoon. I also went to our showroom on the day they opened, so fun! Wouldn’t it be neat to be able to say you were their very first customer? They could put a dollar on the wall with your signature. Well, not at a showroom, cuz they don’t take cash, which absolutely drives me batty!

Yes! I am between a 4 and a 6 in Defines. One looks a bit sloppy and the other is form-fitting. I haven't bought any in a long time because of this issue. This is a jacket that has to fit just right. Vicki

Good score on the WU Ruffle crop. (Thanks to Minda!) I have those and think that it is one of the cutest lulu crop that I owned! Love those little sparkly, ruffly fins at the bottom on the calves. I hope that you got the same one that I have. :)

@Minda
I am a happy, bright "watermelon" in my yoga class today! Good thing the colors are fun, as it kept me light and joyful. I ended up being the "demo dolly" for the revolving backbend (aka Artikrantam). I have my BY Lowrise crop in Green Apple and my Ebb & Flow tank in Paris Pink. The colors are super bright, kinda like those watermelon sugar cookie, sans black spottie seeds. :)

"So rude. And for an engineer, your grammar and spelling is appalling.

Ridiculous post. And absolutely unnecessary. "So rude," sounds more like you should be referring to yourself.

@anon 3:24 and anyone else who may be interested... I think I stood in line for about two hours outside of the Lululemon store on opening day here in Honolulu! Crazy? Yes, but I was not alone because the store was giving free Lululemon yoga mats to the first 50 or so customers. Very generous on Lulu's part but not too bright on the business end of it. Many people waited, collected their mat and walked out and probably never walked in the store again. Forgive me if I stereotyped. I spent quite a bit that day so they even let me get credit for the yoga mat to upgrade to a better one. I can't imagine Lululemon doing this for all their store openings or if they even do a type of gift on opening day. Speaking of which it would be a nice gesture for them to do a gift with purchase from time to time - oh sorry, they give a reusable bag and I was given Lululemon temporary tatoos!

Minda please please tell me about the Bella Luxx shirts!! What styles? The fit? I looked on line and I am in love! You rock!

Geez, the comment threads are getting so looong recently!

Glad to know young engineers are so well paid these days. I need to dust off my resume and get back in the game. It looks like I could be making some major bank. ;-)

@ Nik - Thanks for the Nancy Rose reviews!!! I have not ordered from them yet but sent away for my 20% off coupon.

@ Sourkraut - I found a cheaper pair of Zobha panties on ebay. You also get a code for 25% off your first order (I think it's order, it could be first item but I'm pretty sure it was order) when you sign up for Zobha's mailing list. I've decided to order a pair of panties a month to build up my collection at an affordable rate.

@ Jamie Barba - thanks for all the reviews.
