I really like black swan. It's the mysterious blue black purple thing. I also need to try this skirt on. I am starting tennis so this should be handy. The NLT. Pretty. I might need to go to the store tomorrow to check things out. I haven't been in 2 weeks. That's record.

I love black swan. It's the mysterious black blue purple thing. The NLT is PRETTY. I will have to see this creamsicle. Also the skirt looks promising. Will be good for tennis and running. I need to go to the store and check things out.

Is Black Swan the same as last year? A dark purple?

LuluAddict said...

I haven't seen it in person yet but I'm 99.999% sure that the Black Swan is identical to last years - a purplish black or blackish purple - very dark.

Are there any lulu Angels in Australia? I desperate need one.

Anyone else not able to load the lulu website this morning?

I really like that Black Swan Creamsicle Pop No Limit Tank. I'm a CRB girl all the way though so I don't need it. Maybe if it shows up in NA I'll consider it lol but I really do not need it!

Opinion? Is it acceptable to wear Dance Studio Pants to the office on casual Fridays? I've never done it but would like to. I'd pair then with a nice top (not dressy, not too casual) that works from Banana Rep. I work for a large company and I don't see customers/partners, otherwise would of course dress professionally or totally polished if I was. I normally do the dark jeans, heels/boots etc. on Fridays and in regular professional wear am known for dressing well. Of course some people are way more dressed down than I would be in the DS pants. I look neat/polished in the DS anyway. I don't think it would be frowned upon. I'm just interested in your opinions. Thanks!

Spoken like a true Lulu addict! There hasn't been to much difference between the time that product are previewed on the Australian webstore, to when they make it to Upload.

Think of Australia like an expensive strategic partner store- much more expensive, with strange and random discontinued items, plus hideous postage charges!

Just got my Black Swan lined studio pant, the colour is defiantly more purple then black, the draw string is black and you can see there is a big difference.Very pretty colour. Only thing is, and I am not sure if it is because they are lined, they seem to be a bit bigger all over then the unlined ones. Not a huge difference but if you are in between sizes you might want to size down, I wish I would of ordered an 8 and a 10 so I could see if the 8 would of been a better fit, but they are all sold out online.

I'm a lawyer and wear DSPs to the office quite frequently on casual Fridays, but I've also worn my dune DSPs to the office during the week. I pair them with a dressy top or sweater and cute ballet flats and dress the whole outfit up with some pretty jewelry. I do work in a more casual office than most, but I've never felt inappropriately dressed.

I would never, ever, ever wear studio pants to the office.

I guess it depends on the office environment. If people wear jeans on a regular basis, then maybe studio pants would be okay on a casual Friday. I work for a consulting firm so I want to look polished and professional even on our casual days. Dark skinny jeans is as "casual" as I will go. I just don't think studio pants look profession at all!

I wear my DSCs/DSPs to work. I am in the IT dept of a Fortune 100 company. The men wear jeans w/ polo shirts untucked so I'm ok in my outfits.

I am wondering if anyone else is having problems with this blog loading. It takes longer and longer for all the ads to load and I am getting very frustrated. Is is just me or is anyone else finding it harder and harder to access this blog.

Do you think you can post an article about selling lulu on eBay with some tips??

There is still an issue with fishy smelling clothes. I received my Pretty Pink Define today and it smelled like rotten fish. This is the second week in a row that I received a stinky jacket! I called my local store and they knew exactly what I was talking about because they received a whole box of stinky clothes that they had to damage out. I am just really disappointed in the quality lately. I am practically begging them to take my money and everything I buy is stinky or see through and I have to return it.

OMG why did both my entries appear all of a sudden? Sorry folks. It proves to show my memory is marginally good.
I went to the store today and tried on a few new things like the creamsicle pop power Y. Love the color on me so I bought it. I also tried on the groovy run shorts just to be sure the fit is the same and it is. I'll wait for colors on this one. TTS. I saw the Alberta Lake power Y (I ordered this on upload). I don't know if I like it or not. Speed shorts in the new purplish color (sorry I did not check the actual color). Pretty. Still too short on me (ha ha). I bought the pull me over in heathered white(?) but I had to size up since this was the only way the hoodie did not pull back. I also bought the mirage good fortune bag for my iPad and for those quick clothes change at the gym. I don't usually need a big gym bag. I also bought the tender violet bang buster. I like this a lot. I bought a couple before but it is too wide for my head and it tended to slip back. I'm glad this is narrower and pretty for sure. I'll wear this with my creamsicle pop power y to a zumbathon tomorrow. Im waiting for the calm tee ss to go on MD. I like them a lot but 58 is too much. My store did not get any thing other stores in the US did not get. The ads said they are getting a lot of boxes next week accdg to their memo so get ready all.

@ monique - what do you want to know? It is a bit scary when you first start on ebay but once you get going and get $ in your paypal account it's a lot of fun.

Quick tips:
1 - do the ebay tutorial
2 - set the buyer requirements as tight as possible to weed out problem buyers. I have mine so anyone with more than 2 unpaid items strikes in a year (I think the tightest you can make it) and 4 policy strikes in 6 months or whatever cannot bid.
3 - require BIN (buy it now) to pay right away
4 - accept only paypal
5 - take good photos on a non-patterned background (wild patterned bedspreads kill me)
6 - be HONEST in your descriptions - identify any stains, spots, pilling, sueding, holes, fading, bad stitching, etc. Read the descriptions for EUC - excellent used condition, VGUC, etc. to make sure you are using them correctly.
7 - ship quickly
8 - Re: prices. Look at completed sales so you know what your item should go for. I know people who say set a BIN high and sit back and wait for the item to sell. I set a starting bid at the minimum I'm willing to accept.

Hope this helps a little.

@ Sophia - I wear my bangbuster like a normal headband, not like a hippie.

@ monique - ALWAYS send with tracking to protect yourself. Buyers can claim they never got the item and paypal will automatically side with them, refund them the money right out your paypal account, unless you paid for tracking on your package. Unfortunately, unscrupulous buyers know this and take advantage of that to both get your item and their money refunded to them. If you send via USPS Priority Mail tracking is included when you ship on line (i.e., click and ship). If you send internationally it's more expensive and tricky - registered mail is one way to do it. I know a more than a few US lulu sellers who only sell within the US because of the hassle of sending internationally.

Re bang busters- I love both of mine! I use them only for sport (mostly long runs) when my hair is already up in a pony or plait. Sometimes I folks then over a little, mostly I have them full width. they're the only headband I have never needed to adjust for an entire 42.2. No hair in eyes, no sweat, one happy runner!

@monique - i've done a lot of ebay selling (all sorts of stuff, not just old lulu). here's what i do with lulu - i don't do buy it now. buy it now essentially puts a "cap" on the item's price. also, i think buy it now turns away a lot of buyers. i put everything up for auction - usually 5 day. i start the bid low..usually 19.99, and then just sit back and watch. i've never sold anything at more than a $10 loss off retail (and that was only once...every other time, all my stuff has sold at a PROFIT - that's right, profit on used lulu...crazy!) you'll probably get people e-mailing you and making offers on the item. note that this violates ebay user agreements (unless you actually sell the item as Or Best Offer), and in my experience, the item oftentimes winds up selling for more than the offers anyway. i do auctions instead of buy it now because 1)they're easy - no having to "figure out" what your item is worth, 2) they're fair - i'm not looking to make exorbitants profits off my lulu...however, if someone wants it so desperately that they're willing to bid above the retail price, then i'm not going to turn it down. essentially, the auction determines the market value for the item...which to me makes me feel guilt-free and not like i'm price gauging when people pay over retail (because in reality i didn't buy the item with the idea of re-selling for profit. i bought the item for personal use and either i'm tired of it or it didn't work out and i wasn't able to return it), and 3)because it's fun! it's super exciting to watch your items being fought over online and the price keep going up (:

also, i set the price low to begin with because it helps to capture interest. i find if i set the price higher, few people get interested from the start and in the end i make less money. setting the price low is a risk...it's possible that my item will only sell for 19.99 (though this has never actually happened to me with lulu), but to me that also seems fair. i mean if only 1 person was interested in the item at 19.99, then i suppose that's what it's worth (:

hope this helps

Was at the trolley square store and they got a butt load of new things in including the no limit tank in black swan and creamsicle. Don't wear my 3 other NLTs often enough so I didn't get it. U.S. addicts, I'm sure we shall see this uploaded this week. **other new things: gather & crow crops in this Alberta color - solid teal exterior with the interior being striped. Also lots of new spinning clothes: spin it to win it crops and tank (tank was in grey, black and creamsicle). A couple other new spinning tops too.

Hi, it's 6:21 AM again. Thanks to all who gave input on the Dance Studio Pant and wearing at the office or not. I didn't wear them today but I decided I could.

I work for a global, very successful corporation/top 3 in the industry. We're downtown in a major city. Officially, the dress code is business casual. If you don't meet with customers/external, you can be business casual. Even though business casual applies to me, I am professionally dressed all the time and I have some nice clothes. Other people do the same thing. Yet again others don't even understand business casual and can be under dressed. Anyway, for casual Fridays, we can wear jeans and generally people do. Some people wear jeans that are way too faded, which I think is inappropriate, but that's their issue. I think I could wear the DS Pant with the right top and ballet flats, and as long as I was not meeting with any Execs etc. I know it's neither here nor there, but I was thinking it's funny that I worry about this, when the pants cost over $100 with tax (and yes, new price is $108! boo), and are more expensive than some people's jeans. Again, it's a moot point, because if I get pegged for wearing "sweat pants", that's not good; I do care about professionalism.

@ 11:08 - Bang Buster headband does not work for me. Wish it did! I have long, fine hair and it's too much material for me and doesn't stay. I love the Lucky Luon headband though, have several of those.

Regarding Speed Short liners: I wrote the other day that my recent ones from this year have the different/"rougher" liner. Today I dropped by a store to review markdowns (nothing good happening, was hoping for movement on the 105F crop). I looked at the SS in tonka stripe/black w/ flare: the liner is very smooth! (Still didn't buy them, as cute as they are - I'm in Fall/Winter mode). The purple Eigth Gingham (? correct name), that's another story on the liner, it's gross! It is rough and very nylon-y! This is unlike the liners in any of the SS I have. I checked out a few more pairs while there (in colors I don't own), and the liners are similar to what I have... The versions I have do not bother me, but that nylon-y version in the Gingham would.

My most recent grey/black split pea SS have a pretty smooth liner and I still have the riptag. It does list 56& poly, 33% Coolmax poly, 11% lycra spandex.

Unfortunately, be warned if you order on-line. Based on the Gingham liner, LLL is messing with the SS liner and you never know what you're going to get.

Love the ebay tips (spot on!)

One more to add. The time that the auction closes can make a huge difference. I know it's different across time zones, but generally in the evening (eg 6pm to 10pm) when people are generally home means more people are there to click at the right time.

I would say I'm against wearing the dance studio pants into an office setting. You CANNOT say these pants don't make your behind look insanely nice!! One thing I know is that any men in your office will be all over that. If that's alright then I'd say wear em!
Personally I would never wear lulu at work but to each their own and depends on the people you have around in your work environment :)
