Paddington Softshell On Markdown

The Paddinton Softshell has hit the markdown rack in some stores. This was about the price I'd be willing to pay for it. (Thanks to Ms. T. for the photo.)

I just received my bordeaux Scuba that I ordered last week (I live in SoTX, so it takes a while), and it feels way tighter than a normal size 10 Scuba. I just called my local store to see if they have a size 12, and of course they don't have any. Do you think the bordeaux Scuba will make a reappearance online, like the bordeaux Studio pants?? I'm so disappointed!

I cannot believe how soon things are getting marked down now! Crazy!

These were from a little earlier I think but I also saw the Make a Break jacket, Down Town Puffy jacket, and Down Town Vest on markdown in my local store yesterday. Probably will go to WMTM soon.

Is the Right as Rain a softshell like the Paddington or is it the same material as the No Rain No Gain, which I believe is DWR? In the description on the lulu site the Right as Rain says it is made of DWR and in another spot it says softshell?

I'm thinking that parts of their summer/fall lines might have been delayed (thorough checking of quality issues, anyone?) and had a knock on effect with products taking longer to appear.

The coco softshell then needed to be moved to make way for the paddington jacket which then makes way for the puddle jumper jacket.

Demand may well have also dropped due to quality/cost.

Hence the WMTM spree.

@christie- "softshell" and "DWR" are the same thing. A softshell is a jacket that offers some protection from the elements (rain, snow, wind) but is not completely waterproof (a completely waterproof jacket is called a "hard shell" and usually has some sort of goretex/e-vent membrane to make it waterproof). Softshell jackets usually get their water resistance from a DWR (durable water resistant) coating which is sprayed on the fabric of the jacket to make water bead up and roll off, rather than soaking in. However, if enough water hits the jacket at any one time (like a hard rain) then the DWR is nor enough, and the fabric soaks through anyway (thus it's not waterproof). SOOO.....if a jacket says "softshell" it probably has a DWR coating.

I checked out my local store hoping to find the downtown puffy jacket at a reduced price, but it's still regular price. Has anyone else seen it marked down?
