Beaming Blue Forme Jacket, St. Moritz, and More

New solid color brushed Beaming Blue Forme Jacket. I have to reiterate how incredibly disappointing this new jacket is. It's like a Costco lululemon-knockoff design - ill fitting (shoulders and upper chest too roomy), thin material, very generic looking, and definitely no special lululemon touches like a hair tie pull, or cuffins. I can only hope this jacket fails to sell and lulu is forced to remedy it. However, I know that will take months since I'm sure there are many more dud Formes in the pipeline yet to come.

I found a great review of the jacket:

3 decades late.

Wow! I have never returned an online purchase to LLL so fast. I loved the fit of the Define Jacket but the Forme Jacket is a total bust! I never had a problem with the shoulders of the Define. This jacket, however, squares off my shoulders in a most masculine way. When I lift my arms (even a little bit) the shoulder seams pop up about 1-2 inches and look ridiculous! When I tried this on I felt a complex wave of 70's and 80's nostalgia wash over me. To me it was shades of Crystal Carrington's shoulder pads, Michael Jackson, Prince, Star Trek and Joe Namath (and Halloween is over). As far as overall sizing goes, I always wore a 4 in the Define and the 4 in the Forme fit roughly the same - except in the shoulders! The sleeves are a bit to long and tube-like. The cuffins have flown the coop. I can't find my hair-tie. Sadness.

I really like the look of the Fireplace Jersey but wish it came in vitasea/cotton since I don't need a merino wool top for my climate.

The latest Vinyasas. The chevron one is calling to me even though I am hopeless with scarves.

So true re: forme jacket! If that beaming blue was a define I'd have bought it In a heartbeat. So far I haven't liked the look of the forme on anyone (including myself) and I agree that it looks and feels cheap and lacks all of the "quality" details of the define. I really hope the sales of this jacket are poor so that they will bring back the define (as well as the in stride which is a personal favorite of mine). So glad I stocked up on both jacket types this past year because their replacements just don't cut it. Even if the forme went to WMTM I wouldn't buy it because the construction just sucks!

Those mitts are just AWFUL! It's as if your hands are transformed into cloven hooves! They are just freaky looking. Love the beanie though and the sickie is calling me - if it hit WMTM, i'll bite. I'm afraid to try it for fear that I will pay full price!

PU updates: the Princeton Nj store has the fireplace jersey in silver slate - i wonder if this is the silver color shown in the blog pictures? It also has the Devotion LS in Clarity yellow/heathered Polar Cream - this is likely the shirt worn by the model in the pink Post Savasana bag pic. And the St. Moritz jersey in Love Red/Black - now THAT could be a contender. I love the devotion tee but it's too long and too sheer in love red for me. Just picked up the Love Red RU LS and really like it but have not take the tags off yet - will hold on until I can check out the SM jersey in Love Red and will post pictures if I can :)

PU update 2 - nevermind. The clarity yellow/heathered PC Devotion color can be seen in the SS version of the tee. Not the same as I was hoping...

The chevron Vinyasa is looking more and more appealing... I'm not a scarf person either, but I like the versatility of the Vinyasa and want one for work. I often get chilled at my desk when everyone else around me is roasting. I want something nutral colored that I can later over anything I wear. I like the black and white, but I'm not fond of the blue ribbon detail on it... :( and I'm also not sure if I want to spend $50 on a scarf! Lol

I really dig that hat but I'm not going to pay that price.

Got my Cyber Monday order today. I have to say, I like the *stretch I got. However the chevron vinyasa is going back because the material doesn't feel like any of my existing rulu - and it's rough on my winter hands (a lot of luon bothers me in the winter). I was really hoping it would feel my star runner pull over!

Also in the air about the skinny wills. They're nice but I am thinking the loosened hem isn't for me.

I couldn't agree with you more on the forme jackets. Just tried on the beaming blue today at the Studio City store. While the color is gorgeous, the fit is way too roomy and boxy. It does nothing for me. The define cut somehow fixes/reshapes me with it's structure to really flatter me and make me look better than I really do, lol. There was no instant falling in love with the forme jacket. At least they're coming out with solids now instead of continuing on with those black patching that further cheapens the look imo. By the way, there's a new Namaste III yoga bag in the chevron print with beaming blue strap. I couldn't resist.

A Ching-a-ling - I agree about the instant falling in love. I tried on a black Forme and there was no love, no magic. That is (was?) the beauty of lululemon - you'd put on an item and you'd become a better you (Scoop Neck tank, old Power Y, Define) but I haven't found that magic in a lot of the newer stuff.

I saw the chevron vinyasa at the store today- the fabric feels really weird. Slick and stiff. The Will pants in the cross stitch pattern looked bad on me. Returned the Pitter Patter pullover in AB, would probably have kept it if there wasn't black mesh under the arms. Already got the LB crb from my gym. Wanted to see the new WUs and the LB stripe devotion but they didn't have them. So, nothing for me. Liked the hat, but went to H&M and got a super cute knit hat and neck warmer for waaaaay less $$. Went to Athleta to return a skirt that I got last week with their 20% promotion and the salesclerk returned it and gave me 20% off a Smartwool top, even tho it was just a one-day promotion around Thanksgiving. Other retailers FTW.

OT but I got a pair of black WUC and the material is thin and sheer. I really want some black crops that are long and was thinking aboutthe Inspire crops. But I've read reviews where people complain of new vs old Inspires. Anyone know the difference? I've had good luck with luxtreme not being sheer so I'm interested in these.

Anon @4:45- the new Inspires have a smaller waistband, which cuts in and on me creates an unflattering invention. The older style did not do this. The Luxtreme on the Inspires has great compression and is meant for running- it does become sheer if you bend over. However, I was always ok with that because I used them for running. The Luon being sheer...now that's just not okay. And I am with you- the Luon is so sheer. :(

I'm going to be the outsider and say that I LOVE the new forme jacket (brushed). Without sounding like a butthead, it makes me look hot. Here is why (I'm thinking):
--I am 5'9, 132 lbs, and have a lanky, but athletic build because I do crossfit/lift heavy.
--I have very narrow shoulders, though, and have always had to work extra hard to put on muscle there to balance me out. The slight "boxiness" to the forme shoulders takes care of that for me and makes me look magically proportioned and sexified
.
--Remember how I said I'm lanky? I've always loved thumbholes because that way I can force too short sleeves to stay long enough to cover my wrists, even though they cut into the webbing between my forefinger and thumb. The forme jacket sleeves are literally exactly the correct length for my arms. The thumbholes aren't working so hard to keep the sleeves in place.

--The way the forme hits my hips is flattering because I have NO hips or hourglass shape whatsoever, but I do have a booty. It's frankly a miracle that I was able to eject a live human child from those nonexistent hips. Srsly. But the forme shows off the muscles of the booty without showing off the indents on the sides of my ass where my hips should be.

So I guess if you're tall, lean, have narrow shoulders and long limbs and an ass but no hips, the forme is PERFECT.

The red forme, specifically, makes me all swagger.

I also tried on the forme jacket yesterday and was actually surprised by how it looked on me. Like The Spiteful Chef, I have narrow shoulders so the boxier shoulders made me look more proportioned. However, I am not tall and lanky (5'1, 100 pounds...so a very petite build). I have hips, a booty and a short torso, but somehow this jacket worked. At this point, I think it really just depends on the individual's body proportions versus just the height and weight.
