Today's Shopping Trip - St. Moritz Jersery Love (Plus Beaming Blue Comparisons)

I went to the store today to hunt down the Beaming Blue Cool Racerback (they didn't have it) but ended up leaving with the St. Moritz Jersey in black. I had heard it was really soft but was skeptical since the Pitter Patter Pullover felt rough and scratchy to me. Well, the St. Moritz Jersey is very soft and not scratchy. It's very thin and figure hugging. It's also nice and long. I've been toying with getting a lightweight merino wool top for a long time now but have never pulled the trigger on one. I'm really glad lululemon came out with this one. It's nice and long and has thumbholes in the sleeves. The neck part is on the snug side, one ed told me she sized up because of that, but I grew up in upstate New York wearing turtlenecks all the time so it doesn't bug me. I'm excited to break this out for my son's winter and spring soccer season as well as ski trips and visits to colder locations. I can tell this is a piece I will get a lot of use out of. It's too bad they colored blocked the blue in this otherwise I would have considered getting that one.

I also bought the Beaming Blue Bangbuster headband. I really like this blue and am definitely getting the CRB in it. This photos shows the headband sitting on top of Sprinkler (left), Wish (right), and Porcelaine (bottom headband).

Beaming Blue Forme Jacket on top of a Snorkel CRB with a Sprinkler Flow Y peeping above. (Thanks to Ms. H.).

Ocean Wunder Unders left, Beaming Blue Will Pants on the right. (Thanks to Ms. A.)

I tried on the st. moritz jersey today too and thought the exact opposite, it felt really scratchy to me. and I loooove turtlenecks, they're all I wear in the winter so I was bummed.

Great color comparisons, LLA. Any idea how Beaming Blue compares to Frisby blue released ~3-4 years ago? I went crazy for this color when it originally came out and would love to replace some well loved and worn tops with something similar.

@ anon 5:41 pm - I'm usually the first one to say something is scratchy but I tried this on with just an All Sport bra underneath and thought it was fine.

Oh my, how many years ago were the ocean Wunder Unders? Beautiful!!!!!

@ anon 5:59 pm - I don't think I have any Frisby around. I'll keep an eye out for a comparison to pop up.

Not for nothing but I picked up a super soft base layer turtle neck last weekend at EMS with thumb holes. Reg price is $45 and everything is marked down. Its not wool but I do like EMS apparel. And ive been looking at silk base layers for warmth and wicking and they are priced so nicely like wintersilks or even hanna hensen (sp?) wool baselayers. My friends in Denmark swear by them for winter wear!

Too funny - I read your review and its exactly what I thought! I LOVED it in store, bought the black and sized up only because the neck was tight! lol I loved the length (longer), the feel, etc. and would def. consider the blue but not with the color blocking. I've never had a merino top either and just couldn't leave it behind. I hope the quality is good and it lasts. LOVE your fit reports, etc. Thanks!!! :)

Thanks for the great comparisons - love them. Any chance of seeing porcelain compared to limitless blue? Either way, thanks!

Thanks, LLA!

@ anon 7:25 pm - The only porcelaine I have is the heathered headband in one of the photos. I just remembered I also have the Beachy Floral Namaste tank. I'll take a photo of that with Beaming tomorrow in the sunlight.

I mean with Limitless. Limitless is definitely greener, though.

OT - I feel like the rose herringbone printed coal black was too short lived!!!!!

@ Melissa - the length is really nice, too.

Ha! turtlenecks are NOT my thing. I feel like someone has their hand around my neck! :( Also, I grew up going to a very exclusive private school, pricey uniforms and all and turtlenecks remind me being made to wear those for our uniforms! Sorry, for me....I cannot go there. LOL... I also can wear wool! Itchy city for me, no matter what type of wool. BOO!! Im just not excited about anything Ive seen as of late from Lulu and I cannot spend money, if I don't LOVE the items!! I don't love the designs of Lulu right now and that's saying a lot for me.

In LOVE with that ocean color...all of these blues make me weak in the knees. Keep your pinks but the purples and blues just do me in....

Totally OT but interesting none the less - so yesterday I ordered two spin it to win it tanks off of WMTM and they are being delivered TODAY!! I never get this sort of order/delivery turn around since I live on the east coast. It almost always take a full week+. The fastest I've ever had before was 4 days. The funny thing is I ordered the Off the Mat jacket on the 26th and it is still in transit and estimated for delivery today but based on the scanning I don't think so. If I'm lucky it'll be tomorrow but most likely it will be next Tuesday.

I just couldn't believe the quick shipping.

dear LLA, you read my mind: the color blocking is blah- love the beaming blue however would have bought it were it not for the color blocking- i don't like the trend at all- i prefer classics/solids. anyhow i'm btwn sizes so don't know which size i'd be? maybe i'll consider both sizes and send one back?

I would love it if they brought back the ocean blue color. In terms of the turtle neck it looks nice and I like the length, that is the one thing I do not like about my icebreaker turtle neck, it isn't long enough. I practically live in that turtleneck all winter.

Got my Hot Cheeks skirt and it's LOVE at first site! As much as I have not been into the Love Red, it's super cute on this skirt. I'm a 6 in all bottoms but I usually size up in skirts due to muscular thighs, so I ordered an 8, hoping it would be snug enough - and when i pulled it on over my pants, I think we are in business! It fit slim and slender but I am curious about a 6 - might order a 6 just to see but I definitely want another color - it is the perfect length for running!

Off topic, but anyone else notice that they pulled both the checked cross stitch and coco pique WUs off the shelves for "quality issues", but the coco pique are still available online?

I think this store was meant to pull the checked cross stitch and not the pique and just did both because the day before I saw the pique in another store.

I ended up ordering the coco pique online, knowing that if they were indeed pulled (I had no problem when I tried them on) I could return them. I know people have had issues with the cross stitch ones, but has anyone who has them already experienced any problems with the pique?

The educator I spoke with last night said everything was pulled for "easily snagging" but if that's the case, they'd have to pull half the store sometimes.

Experiences?

Speaking of turtlenecks.... I caved and bought the Swiftly turtleneck on WMTM... I have a 10 LS, but got the 8 turtleneck as there were no gray 10s left. Here's hoping the neck's not too tight on me! I was hoping to sell my Power Purple LS before buying the turtleneck, but once the 10 disappeared, I knew that I had to take a chance on the 8 before I missed out!

@ anonymous me - the recall is only on the cross stitch pique not the coco.

anonymous me said...

Thanksm LuluAddict, that's what I thought, but the store I was in pulled everything, both styles, and were adamant both had been recalled.

I didn't check my other normal store but I do suspect it was just this one location. Their educators don't seem as well trained as the other store I frequent (which is an excellent one with great staff)

At the store that removed everything, I've watched at least one educator give out false info about their stock and another insist that things that exist don't....while I am wearing them!

Went to the store today. I tried on the wtf pullover and fell in love!!! $158 is still too pricey for me :( do you think it'll go on MD anytime soon?

Love the turtleneck as well- especially in black. Funny you are familiar with the weather in Upstate, NY as I am from and live in Syracuse, NY. So I understand the necessity for warm clothing in this neck of the woods.

Love the black turtleneck. I will have to check it out. As I still live in Upstate, NY (Syracuse) and understand the importance of warm clothing with this crazy cold snowy weather!!

I picked up a pair of cross stitch WUC yesterday and was tempted to return after reading about the recall. I am wearing them today, not having a problem and I adore them. It appears that I have the option of returning at anytime, so I will wear and wash a few times and wait and see if they snag.
