FYI - Pleasing Pants Are Extremely Delicate!

"Constructed to be ultra soft and cozy, this french terry is delicate in nature - treat with care"
Be very careful when you are pulling on the Pleasing Pants. The tags have stickers on them saying how delicate they are and it isn't kidding. I personally think it's ridiculous to have sweat pants this delicate. I know I couldn't put a hole in my Feel Good Pants or Lulu Pant IIs (man, where were those this season? I love those). Seeing the warning sticker on the the hang tag was enough to keep me from buying them, well, that and the fact I hate the ankle zipper. Besides, $50 is still a good hunk of money to pay for a flawed product. (Thanks to Ms. S. for the photo.)

Wow! Mine didn't have that special sticker on the tag or I might have reconsidered the purchase! Guess I need to baby them and now I'll be a little afraid to wear them!!

For those of you asking what the big deal is about the WMTM price adjustments...this a huge part of the problem. Clothes that are bleeding, coming undone, ripping with normal usage and a reduction in overall quality. The price adjustment thing is just pushing feed up customers over the edge.

Wow. Lululemon, are you kidding us with this quality? Terrible.

In store, they were selling these at $29. But any add on sticker telling me something is delicate is enough to keep my money away. At least with the burn-out fabric LLL knew it was delicate so it wasn't an "oops" situation.

LuluAddict said...

$29/$19 is about the price they deserve to be.

I have a burnout manifesto top that I got on markdown for $19 (totally lucked out there). I love it for throwing on over a tank but it's only worth about $19 since it pills so easily. I am extremely careful when putting it on since I've read about people putting their fingers through that, too.

This year I had three items that were faulty. Started off with the Ray CRB, then the embossed polka dot bag... Forgot the name, and most recent power purple define but I never had issues returning any of it. I am wondering how many more items would be defective if I bought LLL on a weekly basis as some women do? Yikes...

When is the upload bc of new years is it still tomorrow night?

what is this made out of? paper?

I disagree that French terry is such a delicate fabric that it needs a 'warning' sticker. French terry is a version of terry cloth, what bath towels are made of. That's a durable fabric. The biggest problem with French terry is that the loops inside the fabric are flat, thus you can catch them and pull the fabric easily. But that shouldn't cause a rip/tear, just a snag. Sounds to me that the problem is not that French terry fabric is delicate, it's that the specific fabric used for these pants is cheap. Totally different story.

WOW.... this IS awful!! ..And to think I use to spend TENS if thousands on Lulu, many years in a row! Im guessing those days for me are OVER!!!! LOL.... I didn't buy ONE THING online from their sale and Im so glad I didn't after reading all the complaints on their FB wall. It's awful to treat, such loyal customers in this manner! AWFUL!! Im betting tho...many people will just keep buying, despite the awful customer service and so this will go on! (Shaking head) I really can't be bothered to part with my money for Lulu, when they don't have superior quality anymore and they don't back their products with excellent Customer Service. Why in the world would I keep buying and buying from a company, that makes a HUGE STINK over me calling ONE TIME for a $15 price adjustment? Why in the WORLD, would you argue with someone who spent so much in one year on Lulu and be nasty over owing you $15? LOL... whatever Lulu! Im cool with taking my money elsewhere... Now if everyone did that, Lulu would be SCREWED! :)

totally off topic but there were two new colors of green spotted at a Chicago area lululemon store today! I didnt think of taking pictures! sorry! one was a long sleeve swiftly with the color listed at at MIMO/BLCK (mint color with black trim on waist and wrists) This color was on a short sleeve swiftly as well.
The other green color was on a scuba stretch. The scuba stretch was a bright green...I would say almost a kelly green. Again, my apologies for not taking pictures.

I went through two pairs of these full price. Luckily, I returned the last one about a day before they hit WMTM. First time a seam came out of the waist band, second time, the entire back was full of holes after one wash. Not even sure if they are worth $19...

Hi All! I saw the Pump It Up jacket in a Dallas Lulu, and it was HORRIBLE. There were loose threads at the bottom of the jackets, the seams along the pocket zippers looked really unfinished, and it was just kind of a mess. All that can be yours for $128. No thanks. It looked like this store had a ton of returns from the holidays...lots and lots of items had the gift sticker covering the price tag. Not a good sign. I was in there returning items, and I couldn't find a single thing to buy. I ended up with a LS Swiftly for a gift. It's one of the few things that haven't changed and that I can feel good about giving someone. Also tried on the new bra in the Spring has Sprung print. I liked the bra- and I found it to be TTS. (I size up in the Free to Be. I'm a muscular size 4...flat chested...32A).
I HATED the Spring has Sprung print in person. It was really ugly. I did like the bra, so I will prob wait on a new color.

Well, I feel like this is yet another nail....it is so clear that lulu does not care about their quality. To even sell defective product continually truly shows they are just about making money not about quality products. Other companies may sell for a profit, but at least they stand behind their brand and quality. There's something called recall....they should be recalling these not even asking people to pay for this terrible quality. Yes you have a choice, but you also need to put some faith into a company that they are selling you something that can work for you. I can't see them staying in business much longer.....

So glad I passed on those! Love the tea lounge pants over those anyway but that's ridiculous! I would take them back. I just took back a pair of the run for a latte socks (which I am obsessed with!) because the seam started coming apart at the toe and they let me exchange them.

No luck with getting $$ back on my bundle up that I bought just before the second mark down. The girl so wanted to give it to me but she couldn't. Oh well.

I need some help! I've been out of the lululoop for a couple months but now have a couple gift cards to spend. I dropped into a store briefly yesterday and saw a beautiful woven print/textile as a waistband trim on some groove or astro pants. They were a dark blue on blue weave. Can someone help me identify the name of that print/fabric? Thanks!!!

Wow nice warning looks like they are trying to hide the warning by putting the marked down price in front of it. That's sneak. I have seriously been reconsidering different brands to purchase for workout clothes. If public myth steps it up with the styles you can bet I will be buying more of that brand and peacing out with lulu. Its a shame they are making such defective clothing now. I have lately been having issues with cloths bleeding that I NEVER had before. Now I am going to be even more careful when I buy from them. looking at every stitch and what not to makes sure its worth that 100 or more dollars to buy. I think the only thing right now that is not defective are their water bottles .

Anonymous said...

Ouch! I've thought of buying them but glad I didn't.

OT - Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to stop loose threads/possible seam unravelling on an in-stride jacket? Bought the pretty pink in stride back in October, washed it once and worn it maybe 6 times but I now have loose threads where the sleeve meets the back of my jacket. I thought of cutting them off and then seeing a tailor if it continues but wanted to know if there's anything else I could try. I haven't contact lll since a) I'm afraid of a canned response and b) they will tell me to go into retail which is 2 hours away and easily $40+ in just travelling alone. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. :)

Oh. My. GOD. They have changed the Luxtreme in the Run: Inspire Crops.
I am SO UPSET.
I hated the waistband change that came over the summer, but today I decided to get over it and grab a new pair. I run in these all the time and I like the shell pink, so I grabbed a pair w/o trying them on. BIG MISTAKE.
I just put them on now to check the fit, and the Luxtreme is SO THIN.
They offer NO compression, and I can see every lump and bump on my backside. So I immediately grab my other Inspire crops, which range from about 2009-early 2012, and sure enough, the fabric is different. It's so much thinner and more elastic in the pair w/Shell Pink- NOT a good thing on a compression pant.
These are my staple pants. I'm so sad. I'm also so done. First I had to shop elsewhere for regular leggings for crossfit. I was staying true to LLL for my run gear, but this is just it for me. I can't believe they'd cheap out so much...I mean, I can, but I'm still horrified. These aren't even wearable. They have the coverage of opaque tights. Seriously, EVERY bump, no compression benefits. (I bought my regular size 4). I was annoyed with the other changes, but I took them in stride. This feels personal. UGH. UGH!!!!!!

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 3:42 pm - I've noticed various batches of the run crops run differently - sometimes the luxtreme is thick and sometimes it's thin. Check back when they change out the colored waistbands for a new palette. Did you check out the Ice Queen pants by any chance? They are brushed luxtreme and supposedly for cold weather running but it felt like slightly thicker luxtreme to me and not super warm.

@ anon 2:08 pm - Swiftlys were a huge part of my purchasing this year. I've stuck to a lot of core items - Swiftlys, WUs, CRBs. Thanks for the fit review on the new bra. I'm waiting for Energy bras to come back out.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 2:09 - I know. They have a lot of nerve putting a $49 sticker on them. They should go straight to the outlets and sell them for $9.

PLEASE LULU!!! Make the color blocking stop!!! It looks like circus clothes.

And get some customer service!!!

Oh how I miss the days of unicorn tears print and tinted canvas print. :( I can get this color block stuff at target.

Serious off the topic question! I really want to get the ice queen pants in the blk stripe. Do you think ther will be another cut?

ITA - my run inspires from 2 years ago so rock but this season's suck :(

I hear that! I loved those energy bras - great replacement for the 50-rep

Anonymous said...

Sorry, but knowing the way Lulu is these days, I wouldn't be one bit surprised to find that the bottles have unsafe levels of lead or something.

Anonymous said...

This fabric is faulty - not delicate. The weave is separating, which is what is causing the holes. Even cheap cotton terry does not do this. They should be ashamed to sell these, and marking them down for final sale is almost worse, since they will not allow returns. I am so disappointed in this brand; I can no longer recommend it.

Anonymous said...

OK- I get that Lululemon being inconsistent with price adjustments and whatnot is a mistake and that LLL has pretty terrible customer service. BUT- if you spend *tens of thousands* of dollars at Lululemon every year why are you making such a big stink over $15? You were willing to pay full price on many items and willing to pay the sale price of whatever it is that went down $15. YOU made the decision to buy whatever on boxing day. The people on facebook are getting a little out of control- if this upsets you so much, stop making such a fuss and simply shop somewhere else. To me this seems like a lot of talk and no action. I get that it's the principle of the price adjustment but honestly what did you expect from Lululemon. You should know about their return policy, especially on final sale items, before making a purchase. I've bought stuff for full price or even on sale that later goes down in price further and that's life! I was willing to pay the full price in the first place so I'm happy with that.

I feel really bad for the GEC people that obviously have no control over the situation but are taking most of the blame. The quality of the company is going downhill, and not because of the GEC. At least have a little respect and be nice because it is the company's bad policies and not them!

Sorry for the rant, but people are getting a little ridiculous over clothes.

M&M said...

Agreed! Use to be in this business, tried these pants on, and the fabric is too thin for this type of product...

Anonymous said...

I agree about the Ice Queen pants. They claimed to be for warm weather while I personally thought they were the consistency of a groove pant circa 2007. I bought 2 pairs because they were the first non see-through item I found in a long time.

Anonymous said...

I have a question--for items that went to markdown, do they not refund it if you have damage like this? I've had good experiences with GEC sending me a refund giftcard in exchange for my defective items (e.g. loose threads/pilling after one wear). If the item was on markdown, do they no longer stand by that quality promise?

Moreover, what if you DIDN'T buy it on markdown--I'm sure plenty of people bought the Pleasing Pants not on markdown. If they get holes, will they get refunds? Will they have to prove via receipt they bought it not on markdown?

Anonymous said...

@ 3:27 PM, I would call the GEC and explain your quality issue. I've read and heard a lot of horror stories about the GEC, as we all have. Yet your jacket's seams unravelling sounds out of control and I can't imagine they would not make it right. Whether that be to repair it or to offer credit in its place. Insist on them paying for shipping it there and back etc., you should not be out of pocket!

fwiw, I'm in Canada. I've had three quality issues and when I brought the items back to the store, they were great and I had absolutely no hassles. For one I received a refund (was within the window) and for another I was able to get the exact same item as they still had it. The last one was actually a seam unravelling issue on the waistband of a crop. They fixed it no problem and the repair was not noticeable.

Good luck.

I have on the pleasing pants as we speak. I bought them full price when they were originally released. I LOVE them. No quality issues here. There are some good batches - have hope. :)

The Tea Lounge pant from earlier this year (not the latest version) was a lovely thick French terry. There's no chance they would ever rip on me from just putting them on. Even the latest tea lounge reincarnation from this fall were thinner and cheaper. The quality definitely dropped in a hurry this year! I am really most disappointed in the WU quality drop (sheerness, gusset liner disappearance) and d/c'ing favourites for cheaper replacements at higher prices

Really bummed, I had just ordered these and saw your post so I called and cancelled my order. Te gec told me she cancelled my order, but I just received a shipping notice. So, now I'm stuck with these. I have 4 kids, no way in heck I can be delicate with my sweat pants.

Me too.

I have 2 pair of the pleasing pants and have never had any problems. I love them, super soft and cozy. I treat them just like my other lulu stuff.

I love that they still have their defective thong in WMTM.. Endless comments that one wash and it fell apart. And they are still selling them off for $9..

WTF? It's defective.... Pull it..

@ anon 4:43 pm - My bet would be no re: another price cut in the Ice Queen pant.

@ 3:27 PM, I had a CRB that was unraveling and they no longer had my size in the same color, so I just stuck clear nail polish over the point where the unraveling started it solved my problem. That said, the nail polished bit is a somewhat rough, so I wouldn't recommend doing it on a part of the jacket that would rub on your skin.

@ 5:45 PM I think they would. I had a CRB that I had bought on MD that was unraveling after a wear and they let me exchange it without a hassle. For what it's worth, the replacement did the same thing. That was my last Lulu purchase.

If something is defective, they cannot legally hold you to final sale.

I just checked the tag from my pleasing pants (I save all my tags) and I don't have that warning. I've washed mine at least five times now and haven't had any problems, and mine don't seem delicate at all. I did purchase them over a month ago... I'm wondering if there was just a bad batch? Because I seriously don't think there are any problems with mine being unusually delicate.

Anonymous said...

I ordered them! The stripped ice queen pants. Thanks for your opinion!!!

doll_parts said...

I have these pants and I love them... they don't seem delicate at all to me. It must be a batch problem (which still sucks for the people who get the bad batches, but I adore mine).

i completely agree with you!! some of these ladies are so annoying, claiming they'd never buy lulu again and that their past purchases are significant is a joke.
id have to point the finger at gec reps who issued price adjustments when they knew the policy. if nobody got issued one, it would be less chaotic, id assume.
but what can you do when you have
angry women yelling at you on the phone all day?

These pants are seriously defective. I had a pair a few days ago, wore for about 4 hours around the house, only to discover this...

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152417313165372&set=o.33693527731&type=1

It dives me bonkers that Lululemon continues to sell a product that they KNOW to be defective. SO shady.

Elisa said...

I'm exactly like you anom 9:28, my pants have been washed and worn quite a bit and have held up just fine. No warning on my tag either, and I ordered them when they first came out. I just ordered another pair before the second price drop and could not get a price adjustment, which was very annoying. I find the pants to be very comfortable. I can't say they are my most flattering, but from a comfort standpoint they are wonderful for days at home or to run errands. I'm just hoping there isn't any issues with the new pair I've ordered.

Waaah, I bought the merino wool sweater on Saturday, wore it yesterday and discovered there is a flaw in the french terry knit on one sleeve, and a hole! I'm going to call and see if I can exchange it, because it is so soft and warm, but I am so disappointed with the quality. When I turned it inside out, lots of the terry loops were inconsistent and either dropped or bunched.

Anonymous said...

Yes, no problems at all with my pleasing pants, washed and worn 3-4 times. I have two pair. I did buy them when they first came out. I wonder if this is an issue with subsequent batches that were made?

Anonymous said...

I bought these pants on sale for $49.00, 'final sale', no warning label but the girl at the counter said she had them and to 'be careful' as they were 'delicate'. I only wore these pants ONCE and when I tried to take them off for the night, they ripped, a two inch 'L' shaped rip in the back. I am so disappointed because I really liked them. They offered me a full refund right away, & said they're aware of how 'delicate' the fabric on these pants are. Delicate is not the correct word, they are defective, not delicate. These pants were actually a little big on me and I can't take them off without ripping them? How careful can a reasonable person be expected to be? If I had jumped over a barbed wire fence with them on, I would understand (which it looks like I did), but normal putting-on and taking-off? Ridiculous. Insist on a refund if this happened to you, 'final sale' doesn't apply when the product is defective! (if you don't have the receipt you may have to take a gift card).

Anonymous said...

Hmm, another issue with varying quality control I guess. I have these in two different colours and they've taken a beating from me but have no holes or rips whatsoever.
